M8 Stock Backup - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good day all, I just got this phone yesterday so I apologize in advance for any noob questions as I have not done much research into the M8
I got this phone used in great condition, and I'd really love to try the stock HTC experience. Unfortunately, I got it with Android Revolution HD installed, and I did not like it so I flashed CM12 on to it, which is great but I'd really like to try the stock because I like Sense.
Does anybody have a backup of their stock rom they can post for me to restore the system? I've got TWRP installed and my bootloader is unlocked.
No S-OFF yet, I will have the funds to do it on my card in the week.
No SuperCID yet
Any other necessary information could be provided.

Post your fastboot getvar all (minus serial no & imei no)
no info, how to help ?

Here you go
Sorry, I didn't know how to get it. Its been a while since I used HTC

Yours is a Developer Edition device
The latest stock is Lollipop 4.16.1540.8
You can use a RUU to revert everything to stock including the internal storage as it wipes the storage
You can get it here : http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...G_20.68.4196.01_F_release_411207_signed_2.exe
What you need to do is :
1. put your device in bootloader/fastboot mode and connect to PC
2. relock bootloader - fastboot oem lock (because your device is S-On)
3. Right click the RUU exe that you downloaded, select "run as administrator" .. wait for it to run, later there is a dialog box, accept, next, next, update, blablabla until it finish and your device rebooted... done.
Note : this will wipe everything on your internal storage. Make a backup of important files before you proceed.
Re step 2 .. you can try to skip it first (as I'm not sure whether Developer Edition device is an unlocked device by default)
If you have error 155 then you need to do step 2
And an alternative way of doing this :
Download the 3.28.1540.5 backup from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
restore the backup with TWRP and install its matching stock recovery image
check for OTA and accept, download and install
This way you don't need to relock bootloader and it does not wipe your internal storage

WOW ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?
I own a Dev Ed M8??
How can I tell? What exactly makes it Dev Ed?
I'm extremely happy right now so sorry if I ask a tonne of questions.
BTW I just used snipping tool to black out my serial number and IMEI number if that somehow made you think it's a Dev Ed (which I hope it didn't)
I traded my Note 3 for this yesterday expecting to get a normal used M8
I would have never expected to have gotten a used Dev Ed.
Also, related to the backup (because I'd prefer to not relock the bootloader or lose my stuff)
There isn't a boot.img with the exact number of 3.28.1540.5
Will one of the 3.28.401.x work? (There's three, each ending with either 6, 7 or 9)
EDIT: I mistakenly thought you said boot.img instead of recovery.img, which I found the correct compatibility for the version of the backup you instructed to restore.
I also want to know if it's necessary to flash the stock recovery, seeing that I may inevitably go back to the GPE rom I'm running right now.

You can tell it's a Dev edition by the CID, yours is BS_US002 so it does indeed appear to be a Dev edition M8. As for your firmware question, use the link ckpv5 gave you, scroll down until you see "all other CID's" and tap the button below it. Scroll all the way to the bottom of that list to find what you are looking for. Good luck!

Your CID and MID tell that you have a Dev Ed
You need the stock recovery only for OTA updates.
Yours currently is on 4.4.4 hboot.
You need to update to lollipop 5.0.1 before you can run a 5.0.1 GPE ROM for top performance. Anyway it's your choice.

Wow thanks a lot! I really do appreciate your help.
I am successfully on the Stock 5.0.1 official update as of right now, with TWRP and root access.
I can't wait to see what Sense 6 has come to. The last one I used was 4.1 on my Amaze, and even then I think it was 3.6 based.

[Q] Help to restore my waranty

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a htc one M8 to a french company which import them from Poland.
I unlocked the bootloader of my phone with HTCDEV, I flash twrp, and I rooted the phone.
Today, I have a problem with the duo camera, when i run the camera, a pop up comes to say that the duo camera is covered and I need to pull my finger somewhere else but i have this from a week and nothing is in front of the camera.
So the reseller said that I need to make work the waranty of the phone to solve the problem.
Of course, i can't use the waranty because my Hboot is unlocked.
I read this Thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708571
To relock the bootloader. I read that I t would work for me.(I'm s-on for the moment but I think I will be able to find a tuto to s-off )
I just fine this thread to remove tampered flag :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708565
I didn't read all commentarys but it seems to works.
But i'm wondering what else should I do to restore waranty, I read that flash the ruu will be ok but I think my phone don't have the international rom because there isn't super eco battery mode and when I ask on an other forum someone answer me that was because I got a Polish phone.
Could somewone guide me? Is my request possible? In what order apply tutos? Where download polish RUU?
Sorry if the english is bad..
Thx,
Allan

[GUIDE] Return your M8 to 100% Stock Follow the instructions in that thread, it'll be the same for most devices just use the correct software applicable to your phone. You need to be S-OFF to achieve the removal of tampered banner and other goodies.
So first thing you'll need to do is get S-OFF, you could either try the old Firewater S-OFF method found here: Firewater S-OFF Instructions it worked on most devices but the newest patches released by HTC blocked it. If it doesn't work for you you can try [Android][HTC S-OFF] SunShine for modern HTC devices . It should make you S-OFF fore sure however it costs $25 through an in app payment method. It's "per" device, so if you pay $25 to S-OFF and they give you a new phone you'll have to pay another $25 to S-OFF the new one... Worth considering though if firewater doesn't work...
After you get S-OFF just follow the general instructions in the Guide provided above and you should be set to go :good:
What is your software version number, I don't see it on the pic? Are you still on stock ROM, if so check in settings >>> about >>> software information.
I'm not familiar with the various different main-versions that comes from Poland. If we can get the version you're on it'll make things a bit easier. Having said that here is the thread with a lot of nandroid backups that you can look into as well COLLECTION of Stock backup's

Yeah that's for T-Mobile Poland...
Well if you're still on Stock ROM then you only need S-OFF to remove the tampered banner, show bootloader as locked and you'll also need a stock recovery, which might be a bit more difficult to get. I've seen a few people on here asking for it and not sure if they found it yet or not I also don't think there's an RUU available for it...
There is a TWRP Stock Nandroid in this guy's post, don't know if it includes the stock recovery though.
CID T-MOB009 - 1.57.118.2 TWRP ( hboot 3.16)
Direct link: Mega Uploads link for 1.57.118.2 TWRP
Well,
My phone is S-off, I don't really thing about consequences because it cost me 25$ and I start looking for T-Mobile Poland stock recovery AFTER.
And it's hard to find... Lots of result for the m7.This post appeared often ans by curiosity, I type " m8 T-Mobile Poland", this post appeared in fisr page... I will continue but if someone have it, i would be great to tell me where I can get it !
Edit : Do you think T-Mobile from other country could work? Germany? Thxs!
Edit 2 : I found this Thread on polish forum : http://forum.android.com.pl/f1288/kolekcja-backup-ruu-ota-416860/
On the first post, in the signature, we can read : Backup : CID T-MOB009 - 1.57.118.2 TWRP (HBOOT 3.16)
I'm not sure to understand everything with google trad but do you think it's a full backup with the recovery and i can use it ?

That's the exact same link I shared with you already. I think it is the full backup(Not sure about Recovery though) as I tried to download it on my phone and it's a big file. You can just download it to PC though and open the .zip file and make sure everything is there, boot.img system.img radio.img etc If it's just a TWRP on its own I don't think there will be a recovery.img, hopefully there is though. I didn't download it fully myself, on data plan and not going to spend it downloading a 1gb+ file that isn't even applicable to me
As for the T-Mobile from another country. You can convert to any device once you're S-OFF(Apart from the obvious CDMA vs GSM so Verizon/Sprint won't work I think) so you could flash T-Mobile Germany(will have to change CID/MID I think MID might be the same though) yes, BUT, you probably won't get OTA updates then and will probably have to download the OTA updates as they are released and collected(at xda for example) and then flash it manually.

recovery.log

This is just a TWRP, right?
About flahs T-mobile Germany RUU, would it permit me to make the waranty works?
Edit : If I found someone with the same software number than me, I would be able to do the backup, right? I find this :
How do i backup the stock HTC recovery ?
Boot the custom recovery, preferably with Philz touch recovery as it will back up the stock recovery for sure, you need the following command to boot it and not flash it over the stock recovery :
fastboot boot recovery_filename.img
Then make a full nandroid backup, the stock recovery is located inside the backup folder

But I don't understand, they said boot the custom recovery with an other recovery? oO Are you able to explain it to me ?

Yes that's a TWRP backup, like suspected though, no recovery.img file to go back to stock recovery.
German RUU - You could convert device to German T-Mobile sure, will it pass warranty? If you're very lucky and they don't look deeper into this then sure, I suppose it could pass. Though somehow I doubt that'll happen
Same software number...? Is this physical access to a phone that has the same software as yours or did you get it online somewhere? I don't understand your edit part there... But regardless, you can make a backup of his device yes or ask him to do it or if he already made a backup with CWM/Philz Touch then it'll help a lot too as it'll have the recovery.img. I won't say much more about this though..need more clarity from your side about that...
They don't boot a recovery with another recovery, they boot the custom recovery from fastboot in order to make a backup of the system + stock recovery. You should have done this before you flashed a custom recovery as well, preferably with CWM/Philz Touch Recovery. If you're going to use TWRP then you'll first have to manually "dump" the recovery as a backup, if you use Philz, Philz could at least have made a backup of the stock recovery.
But yeah, you can boot into a custom recovery. Connect the phone to the device, reboot into bootloader, open command prompt change directory to where adb.exe is. Type in fastboot boot name_of_custom_recovery.img then you can make a backup of system including recovery(IF you booted Philz/CWM) .
It's a bit too late for you now though, you already flashed a custom recovery which over wrote the stock you had.

Reboot your phone into bootloader mode (Volume Down + Power button)
Connect Phone to PC
Open command prompt in adb folder
Type fastboot devices to make sure device is connected.
Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img - It should be recovery.img I don't think anyone would change the name of the recovery.
Type fastboot reboot - Phone will reboot back into OS.
Recovery is flashed and you can do updates. Of course the rest of your phone needs to be stock as well but seeing as you only mentioned the recovery now I take it that your phone is back to stock.

Ok, thx, but if I understand correctly, I have to dos this instead of ste the step 6 of the guide?
6. Flash stock FW package
Now your phone is back to 100% stock, we need to get the stock recovery back on the phone. To do this, you have to flash the 2.22.401.4 FW package from HERE. To flash this file, do the following:
a. Reboot phone into fastboot
b. Copy the FW file to your fastboot folder on your PC (if you don't have fastboot in your system path)
c. Rename the FW file firmware.zip (NOT firmware.zip.zip)
d. Type: fastboot oem rebootRUU and wait for device to reboot
e. Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete. Although you don't have to do this twice as you used to do with RUU ZIPs, it's STRONGLY recommended that you run this command a second time after the first has finished to make sure it 'takes' properly
f. Type: fastboot reboot
The phone will now reboot

Nah it's not necessary, just flash back the stock recovery. You'll get the latest firmware for your device when you do the OTA update anyways and at least this way you know that things won't go wrong.
I think they included that method because the latest recovery.img file is already in the firmware package and flashing it will restore the recovery back. You can just restore/flash it normally and let the system update itself. Like I said above, not a lot can go wrong that way.

Thanks again for all you've done for me! you'r my hero!
Hi!
Well, I found time to do this!
- I restored my nandroid backup with the stock rom
- I reseted the tampered flag
-I reseted the Unlocked flag and now it's "Locked"
-I unrooted my phone
but I have a probleme with the recovery...
When I type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", I get an error :
c:\miniadb_m7>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
target reported max download size of 1830711296 bytes
sending 'recovery' (15236 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.431s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 1.440s
I did something wrong? The phone is int fastboot USB, the computer recognize it. For adb I use the miniadb_v1031, recomended in topics to remove tampered flags and to remove unlocked flag.
Can you help me with this ?
Thx!
Allan
edit : I also try to do "fastboot oem rebootRUU" before trying flash recovery.img!

Yeah... I understood my mistake 1min before you post..
YOU ARE THE BEST!! haha
So, it worked!
Now, when I go into the recovery I have a phone with a red "!" inside a triangle, is it okay?

[Q] Have a Rogers M8 can I convert it to GPE or Developer Edition?

I'm mostly looking to increase battery and just make it more snappy and fluent Will I be able to keep my camera effects?
Anything I should know? My last question is how difficult is it to do? I'm not a newb when it comes to phones but I'm not the most confident.
Thanks guys!

If you convert to GPE you probably won't keep your camera effects as it comes with HTC's Sense and I don't think anyone ported it for GPE? I could be wrong, but that's something you can look into.
If you convert to Developer edition you'll keep the camera effects though as it's HTC Sense 6.
You'll need S-OFF in order to do conversions between different variants, you'll need to change the MID/CID and of course for the flashing of the relevant firmwares. So that's the first step, get S-OFF if you don't have it already, you can get S-OFF by buying it through Sunshine S-OFF. You can try Firewater first(It's free) but it doesn't work for most devices with newest software on it(4.4.2 & 4.4.3).
Some of the steps you'll take once you have the necessary stuff in place(S-OFF)
Get a developer edition nandroid backup and stock recovery - COLLECTION of Stock backup's
Get an older version nandroid backup for developer edition, this is important to test if you get OTA updates after the conversion and of course you'll update phone as you go. So get an older one...
Boot into bootloader, connect phone to pc, open command prompt for adb/fastboot. Grab the info for your device:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Note the CID & MID, both for future references and of course if the MID is not the same as the developer edition one, which it isn't, you'll need to change the MID.
[how to] change your MID without an eng bootloader Follow instructions given by Scotty how to change it. The Rogers one is in post 2.
Next you'll want to change the CID to Developer edition one (BS_US002) I think BS_US001 is unlocked version but they use the same software anyways so:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid BS_US002
After that type
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
That is to check if the CID changed like it's supposed to do.
Next you'll want to flash the stock recovery for the developer edition, of course make sure all the relevant files are in the relevant places.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
Boot a custom recovery(I'm not sure if you can just skip the above flashing of stock recovery and flash a custom one right away )
Code:
fastboot boot name_of_custom_recovery.img
I don't know if TWRP will boot or not, might influence the step with the stock recovery, can probably flash custom recovery right of the bat, but I'm not sure about that again... anyways.
Inside the custom recovery just clear the partitions(dalvik, cache etc) then restore the nandroid backup you downloaded afterwards you can reboot the phone again. Now you're developer edition and once it starts up we'll see if you get OTA prompt or not, hence why a bit of an older version was needed. Of course you'll definitely need the stock recovery to actually do the OTA. It'll update the firmware as the OTA's install.
That's about it I think
@ckpv5 should be able to help with anything else, looks like he's done quite a few conversions with all the different variant OTA/backups he's sharing on here.

[Q] HTC noobie, please help

Hi,
So as the title says, I'm totally new to HTC world, had EVERY other phone in hand during the past 3 years but never an HTC.
So I trade my Nexus 6 with an HTC One m8.
Phone history (That I know of):
S-off, Unlocked Bootloader
Bought as unbranded.
Flashed with GPE
Flashed to Stock (with root)
Flashed to Developer Edition (By Me).
Some issues I've noticed:
The folder /system/etc/sdk --- doesn't exist in the phone...
HTC SDK API level: UNKNOWN
Xposed (XSence) not recognizing phone with Sence UI (Settings->Info->Sence 6.0)...
When flashed to Developer Edition I didn't flashed a nandroid backup.. Just changed the CID and MID to US_(can't remember)001 and flashed ATT RUU (Current: 4.16.1540.8, It was higher before)
When I'm playing on any game or an app (full-screen or not), when I get a call, it doesn't look like lollipop and it shows on the entire screen! instead of a "Heads-Up"
What do I need to do? flash stock? (Really, how..?)
Or maybe flash a Developer Edition but with the nandroid backup before?
I followed this guide, but I can't figure out what a firmware of 1.xx.xxx has to do with the version I want 4.16.1540.8, and I can't find anything so I want my phone intact and not bricked..
Can anyone clarify part 4?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/change-wwe-m8-to-dev-edition-ota-t2826567
4 Flash the stock recovery or firmware zip (which includes the recovery) matching your desired software number NOTE - yet again the download links below are for DEV edition for example - the versions relevant to the variant you want are accessible through the search function. The firmware is HERE this shouldn't wipe sd contents but backup to be sure thanks @ckpv5
Follow THIS GREAT GUIDE for flashing via fastboot thanks @Sneakyghost
Or This quality tutorial to flash firmware from external sd card thanks @skulldreamz
if you are s off, sd contents should be untouched after flashing firmware but back them up just in case
To flash just the recovery, get the recovery.img from the zip above and put it in your fastboot folder on your PC. Then in CMD type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" then "fastboot erase cache"

** In general, what's the point of flashing a nandroid backup and then flash an RUU? it makes the nandroid useless, doesn't it?
Thank you all for trying and helping out!
A RUU makes a nandroid flash totally useless.
Your device should be easily fixed by running a proper Sense RUU.
The GPE RUU apparently changes the size of the system partition, so after that, the device will either not accept or break any (bigger) Sense based system. So, in order to return the device to normal partition layout, a Sense RUU is required as far as I know.
To be quite sure I'd recommend reading the GPE conversion thread to learn how to properly restore to sense. I'm no expert for that.
Any issue in the ROM which you described could be due to an improper restore after running a full GPE conversion. It could also be a simply messed up ROM.
Your description sounds like you've done many things in all sorts of orders, so it's near impossible to tell what's actually wrong. The best strategy imho is to start over fresh with a RUU.
Thank you! that was fast..
So how can I return to full stock with a proper RUU? google? or you know something a bit better?
Can I just download the RUU from HTC website and flash it? would it be OK?
EDIT: in some guides I've seen, it says that the guid is applies for CIDs: HTC_001, HTC_A48 and so on.
the question is, if I have a dev CID (*002) can I follow that guide?)
Thanks again!
Well..
I followed this guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735235
Skipped s-on, tampered flag.

You're not doing anything wrong. Its a known bug that SDK API is not listed, and nothing to be worried about.
Returning to stock doesn't make a difference. I'm pretty sure the RUU installed Sense LP correctly. But HTC changed a lot of things that removed Material Design and a lot of other features from Lollipop. Sense LP in fact looks almost exactly like Sense KK, with the exception of a few minor things such as the LP notification style, and Recent Apps style (option LP style).
If you want "real" Material Design, flash a GPE ROM or fully convert to GPE.
Thanks for the help! I don't want a vanilla android.. it's sucks to my opinion. The only thing that bothers me is that the dialer stinks and when in a game and getting a call, it's not getting the LP notification bar, it's going full screen. And I lose the game.. LOL any fix for that one?

no easy access or UI after deleting internal storage (newbie)

Hi,
Here's my story: I have a factory unlocked M9 bought in Belgium. After reading in XDA, I unlocked the loader, and install TWRP (2.8.5.0). I then made a backup and installed ARHD 5.2.
Everything worked fine, until I decided to sell my device (I live in Argentina, and although I bought the international version, it does not cover 4G band 4). So in order to sell it I wanted to wipe everything back to factory settings. I went ahead and restore my backup. Again everything worked flawlessly, but then I saw some folders in the internal storage that were not supposed to be there (such as maildroid folder, among others). So I went back to TWRP, wipe, advanced, "delete internal SD". oops, wrong choice...
I rebooted and then notices appeared "Unfortunately UI has stopped..../ unfortunately easyaccess has stoped...", losing all functionalities (no touch buttons, I had to restart every time I wanted to change menus).
I restored again the backup...no luck. I then installed again AR 5.2...no luck.
I wanted to RUU (I am not sure I know what it is, but I do know how to follow step by step guides...well at least sometimes...). my phone is S-ON. I tried installing sunshine to S-OFF, but I got the message "No SD card", so it wouldn't let me install it. in fact when I use the HTC file explorer it looks as if there is nothing in the internal storage.
I don't think I can fastboot (USB not recognized). I read that phones needed to be S-OFF ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/htc-one-m9-dump-t3060545 ), so I don't know what else to do.
I really tried all related posts but I can't find the answer....
Any help is really appreciated (of course I couldn't sell the phone). Thanks.
A RUU is a Rom Update Utility. It's a little program made by HTC to reinstall a stock firmware and/or rom on a phone that is S-ON. Depending on the build number and the CID of your phone the needed RUU is an *.exe or a *.zip.
Are you still able to enter Settings>About>Software Information>More? (Not completely sure whether these are the correct english terms. On my phone it's Einstellungen>Info>Software-Informationen>Mehr.) There you can find the build number of the installed firmware if you are on stock rom.
Otherwise you need to boot into download mode where you can find the build number (written in the line with "OS" at the beginning) and the CID of your phone. Since you never mentioned any branding and you bought the phone in Belgium I'm assuming that the CID is something like HTC__*** and that you can use a European RUU.
Next you need to download the corresponding RUU for your build number (just use Ctrl+F for easier searching) and your CID. Since the CID isn't explicitly mentioned in the RUU names you may have to search for the meaning of your phones CID (for example in a list like this one).
If the needed RUU is a *.zip then you have to rename the file to 0PJAIMG.zip (that's a zero not an O), copy it on an external sd card that is not bigger than 32gb and formatted to fat32 and put the sd card into your phone. If you now enter download mode your phone should guide you through the rest of the procedure.
If the needed RUU is an *.exe then you just have to connect you phone to your pc and start the file (on windows).

I had access, the build number is 1.32.401.17 CL506785 release keys. However from download mode I got Mainversion: 1.32.401.15. So I guess I have to use the latter right? I do not need to be S-OFF, because I can't make it....

Ok there are two 1.32.401.15 version for Europe, that only differs in the release: Which should I use

Edit2: I forgot another important thing. (Sorry, I'm in a little hurry right now.) Your CID needs to correspond to the RUU you want to run. Since you never mentioned any branding I'm assuming that it is something like HTC__*** so that you can use a European RUU. You can find out by booting into download mode. (I'm not completely sure whether it's written there if you are S-ON. If not you can either try using an app like CID Getter or the fastboot command "fastboot getvar all".) If your CID differs from HTC__*** I would suggest you to post it here together with the build number so that it's easier for me or someone else to guide you to the correct RUU.

I think that the original stock was 1.32.401.15 as ARHD 5.2 that I flashed comes with the 1.32.401.17
Yes, that's right. Since there has not been an aboot update until now you can also try to install the 1.32.401.8 RUU and then update via the stock OTA function. I've done this with my phone before I got S-OFF so I know that it works. This way you can be sure that the correct version of the 401.15 firmware gets installed.

Ok, I already installed the first release of 1.32.408.15. it worked flawlessly. Should I relock (or lock) the phone to receive OTA?
Use a 32 GB card tip saved my day! ( I had a 128 GB which the phone didn't read)
Thank you all.
I am now trying the second release as the first one did not recognize 5G wifi networks.
Is it possible to receive OTA once you have an unlocked bootloader? XX.15 is the latest version? because ARHD has XX.17?
thanks again
Actually I don't know whether it's necessary to relock the bootloader if you want to install an OTA but I would guess it is. The 401.15 version is the latest European one. 401.17 is only receivable on HTC__J** but llabtoofer stated on his twitter account that the next European update is waiting around the corner.
You mentioned earlier that you cannot connect your phone with your PC and that fastboot isn't working. Did you try to connect your phone to another PC/Laptop (maybe your parents/siblings/friends can help you out if you don't own another one)? As far as I know there is no way to relock bootloader without a PC.

Htc One M8 Factory reset gone very wrong

Hello everyone I'm new around here as a member but I've been using this site to custom my android devices since my Samsung galaxy s (the first one), you guys are the best. But now I have a problem and I just can't find the solution. So my htc one m8 (best phone I had my entire life) yesterday I've decided to give it to my father as I upgraded. And I wanted to make a factory reset. As I was late for work I started the factory reset and I left for work. When I came home, disaster. The phone reseted but It's a mess so I will try to also put a video. So the phone does not have the setting app, and also I can't open the settings through the shortcut in the bar. And also I can't connect to mobile data, wireless, nothing. I reseted again. Same thing. Also it's not recognised by my laptop. I'm really out of option. I searched all the internet for a solution to flash some kind of rom but I can't even activate USB debugging cause I don't have settings on. I know for sure that the device is s-on and unlocked. I really don't know other details as I can't go into "about" section. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you.
Ps: I see that I cannot upload the link from YouTube with my video so the name of the video is: Htc one m8 after factory reset
other details as in "about" is not important.
The one that is important is the fastboot getvar all result, post it here then we'll see what you need.
sorry for late response

Which RUU that you tried to install ? You can only install 6.13.771.4 RUU and also you need to use htc_fastboot to install, not the generic fastboot and locked/relocked bootloader.
Is your device bootloader unlocked ? If it is and you have latest TWRP installed, you can restore non-rooted stock backup which you can find here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
I don't think 6.13.771.4 ruu is available so the above is your best option.
