Help - Sony Xperia M

Could I possibly go from 5.0.2 back to KitKat flashing the ROM and cleaning cache, data and apps. I hear that there are some bootloader differences from KK to lollipop, and that you might end up with a brick.
How do I go from lollipop to 4.4.4?

[Q] Best way to unroot and get stock Lollipop?

I've currently got a rooted Z1C with a custom ROM. I have my TA backup as well. I'd like to go to stock Lollipop as painlessly as possible.
I'm assuming I'd have to do something of the following: clear system/data, install stock Kitkat ROM, restore TA, OTA to Lollipop. Is that right?

I think if You flash a ftf, it also wipes Your system and data. But to be on safe side, You can wipe those and follow the procedure You mentioned.

[Q] Is it safe to skip 5.1 Factory Image? 5.0.2 -> 5.1.1

I'm about to fastboot flash to 5.1.1 from 5.0.2. I've never skipped a version before, I'm wondering if I'll break anything by doing this.
Doesn't matter with the factory image. Flash away.
Thank you, boss.

From cm 13 based ROM to 5.0 or 5.1 stock HOW TO?

I'm currently using cm 13 based rom which is marshmallow. I would like to know if I can flash any lollipop based custom rom via twrp by doing the general flashing method? Thanks
Yes. But no dirty flash.
Same as what scarlettmarts said, but also I would recommend wiping your data and internal storage partitions, because even though you usually don't have to, 6.0.1 to 5.1 could cause some weird stuff to happen.
For flashing a lollipop custom rom , do as they said but if you want stock try this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/zen...a-ze551ml-official-raw-firmware-file-t3347496)

Downgrading from marshmallow to 5.1.1 pb1 bootloop

I went to downgrade from marshmallow to lollipop 5.1.1 pb1 and I'm stuck in a bootloop is downgrading not possible or am I doing something wrong. installed the pb1 stock kernel as well after it kept bootlooping, though that shouldn't be necessary when installing a stock firmware. Any thoughts?
I feel like a complete noob, just did a factory reset and whiped the cache and I was up and running.
Downgrade path
What method did you use to downgrade back to 5.1.1? I am looking to downgrade so that i can root/unlock bootloader/ flash recovery/ install custom fw.

Just flash the older rom in odin.
I've also noticed that after unlocking the bootloader the sd card used can cause bootloops so make sure you take it out and format it after unlocking.

NANDROID backup question

Hello.
I kinda would like to try the LG G3s Lollipop firmware but I have a question, if I upgraded to lollipop and then root and installed TWRP would I be able to return to KitKat using my 4.4.2 nandroid backup (In case I didn't like it or battery was poor) or would the baseband have a conflict and not work. Also I am currently rooted now on KitKat with TWRP installed, if I were going to update how would I do it without bricking? Do I have to unroot and uninstall xposed?
Anyone?

Okay, and this wouldn't cause a baseband conflict with stock 4.4? Or cause modems to not work anymore?

It depends on the backup you have.
You can definitely downgrade the G3 using kdz or tot files, but they contain the baseband and modems within themselfs.

The backup I have contains: Boot, Cache, Data, EFS, and System partitions... A full Nandroid backup... I have almost all the KDZ files for the US990 but need the 10c firmware for it as that is what I am on, I have been unable to find the 10c firmware and that's why I want to know if a full Nandroid backup can get me from stock lollipop back to 10c kitkat

If I'm not mistaken the EFS partition contained the modem but not the bootloader.
Custom ROM zips shouldn't affect the EFS and bootloader anyway, but you should have a backup of the EFS just in case.
And you'll always be able to downgrade using a flash tool and KDZ or TOT files.
Also I recommend trying a 7.1.1 AOSP ROM, performance is much better than stock plus you'll get the latest security updates.

Unfortunately the US990 only has two ROMs and getting 7.1.1 is very unlikely as nobody really owns that device anymore....

Here's my experience, I'm currently on a stock version of 4.4.2 Kitkat with TWRP 3.0. I went up to MM when it first came out, not enough of what I needed was compatible at the time (mostly xposed stuff) so I reverted to my 4.4.2 nandroid backup. Everything worked except the modem. I ended up finding one, installing and everything was the exact same. It's been a long time and I use 10R but i'm assuming the process is the same.
You don't have to uninstall TWRP, just backup everything, wipe and install new rom. If you don't like it, revert to backup. Make sure you don't delete the backup and make sure you have the latest TWRP.
Here's the link I referred to - https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...ock-d851-30d-kdz-flashable-zips-imgs-t3367371

That sucks. If one of them is AOSP based, I've always been getting better performance on good clean AOSP ROMs compared to stock.
