I'm looking for a variable that will give me the total number of messages in a Gmail inbox, not just unread. I've been searching and searching, but I must be phrasing my question badly because I can't find anyone even discussing the idea. Help?

Just trying to figure out how i am able to send a text message to all the numbers in my phone without having to select the 200+ contacts individually...
Can anyone help me out here? Does the 8525 even offer an option like that?
Please help
Thanks
hey that s called spam!
i m not sure but maybe you can create a group (like you do on outlook) and send the sms to that...
lol
well im in the promoting business and the majority of my contacts are those who attend my events.
Im not trying to go through outlook. I know in several other phones it gave you the option of selecting all or at least going through your contacts and checking all those you would want to send the text to. On this phone i cant seem to find any feature like that. I have to individually add EVERYSINGLE contact going from text to contacts list to text to contacts list. Its pretty ridiculous.
If anyone knows of how to select or send to all, i would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

Just received my Desire HD and after 1st sync I noticed a message saying "Matched contacts suggestion" with a list of some of my contacts...can anyone advise what this does?
If you're talking about when you link contacts, then I believe it just links certain contacts together into the same contact. You have to check through them though, because sometimes they may be trying to link two different people into the same contact.
Yeah, for example it may suggest you to link a Facebook contact to a phone contact, and if it is the same guy, you will see his Facebook updates when he/she calls you etc.
Yes, linked contact...its strange though as I dont have duplicates, so not sure why it would try to link some contacts...under what criteria? Thanks anyway.

assumedly you've signed into facebook or twitter.
What it's doing is going through your social network friends list and saying "Aha! I have that name in the phonebook. They probably don't want them in there twice, so I'll ask if they want me to link them"
As I'm signed into facebook and twitter via the app and via sense, some of my contacts have 4 links! It's so much better than having 5 contacts in my phonebook for each person
yes, that would make sense..but I dont have facebook or twitter (probably only person on the planet)..I did find in my google contacts online, that as well as "My Contacts", there was a group made called "Other contacts", which had copy of all my contacts, so I deleted the group..everything was ok for a while then I got message again asking if i want to link some contacts..weird.
even worse: no info whatsoever is given with regards to what it means if you tap the name and it becomes green? Do you eed to tap all of them?
pull down the notification bar and open the linked contacts (if its still asking you) and it'll tell you who it thinks can be linked...you can choose to accept or discard the suggestion. simple
and don't worry you can always unlink contacts later should you wish to.
Get it again
Hello,
I received this question also and I was selecting all my links one by one.
I thought what if I do 'dismiss all', then maybe I can 'select all' after that..
But all my suggestions where gone..
How can I get all the suggestions again?.. I have many contacts..
Thanks in advance from The Netherlands.
Best regards,
Johan Groeneveld
I often reply to comments on Facebook by simply replying to notification emails.
Some of Facebook’s notification emails are plain text, while others are full HTML.
When I reply to HTML emails, part of the code ends up in the comment i.e. <font><>blah blah blah</><screw this crap<<.> My comment.
There are no problems replying to plain text emails.
1.Has anyone else found this?
2.Is there a way to force the WP7 email programme to use plain text when replying?
Or
3. Is there a setting in Facebook so that all emails are plain text?
Yes I have noticed it as well and it is very annoying. With the new Facebook messages, you can reply to facebook messages by just replying to the notification email. Even when using that, it always puts up as <HTML></HTML> format.
The only reason I currently need to open to facebook app is just to reply to the facebook messages. I would much love to reply using email.

Yeah, super annoying.
I'm going to report this bug to the Windows Phone people.
If you could cut & paste a comment with the HTML crap to this thread, I'll include it in the error report (I've deleted mine).
On a positive note, now that I've been granted my @facebook.com email address, I can now reply to messages from my Windows Live email.
Here's the offending code:
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></HEAD>
<BODY>
<DIV style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Calibri,sans-serif">My comment. <BR><BR>More of my comment<BR><BR> </DIV>
<HR>
BTW - when you reply to Facebook messages from your WP7, you also get the HTML code.
It's ironic - the WP7 has the best mobile based email programme available, yet I can't use it to the same extent as I did on WinMo 6.1.
Today when i was checking my sms, I saw that i have 68 messages instead of 168 it had before. But then I saw better and noticed that only my responses was deleted not the contact's response. Like this.
Me: Hi (this was deleted)
Friend: Hi
Me: how you doin? (this too)
Friend: good and you?
Its a bit dificult to explain because i am not english so i did that example, i hope you understand.
Can anyone help?
Dear all,
After several readings and searches in this forum, it seems I was not able to find the answer to this probably very simple (pure newbie's) question...
The "similar threads" found just with the title I wrote are not pertinent here.
I first apologize for my very bad Engish... I hope it will not prevent you to undertand the meaning of my question.
Here is my configuration: LG G3 D855, 32Go, Android 5.0, software version V20h-EUR-XX
I come from an excellet Galaxy S4 under kitkat 4.4.2 (unfortunately, strange repetitive crashes led me to change and let the S4 to Samsung guarantee).
Here is the problem:
when I want to send a SMS/MMS to one of my contacts, I do not need to see the FAX number, the email, the inhouse phone... I just have to get the mobile phone number
Even if I defined the default phone number for my contacts, the soft always propose me these dummy (useless) propositions for SMS/MMS.
The consequence is that in my favorite list of contacts, there are just 6 contacts. I expected to get 6 possible phone numbers (this was the cas with my S4).
Unfortunately, I get 13 possible contacts (including FAX, email, home phone, etc...).
With such way of working, total of 63 contatcs are transformet in 173 possible "dummy contacts" and this is very difficult/slow to find out the only one right one
If you have an idea to help me to solve this "small" problem, I would be very indebted to you
And of course, all my appologies if I missed the answer somewhere....
The stock sms app is pretty bad. Try textra, 8sms or evolvesms.
Thanks a lot se1988
I will try to see iwith your diffrerent suggestions. Once more, thank you for your attention
