you need to get your s4 back, its illegal to change the imei.
were you not suspicious when someone said they would swap there G3 for an S4?or did you also pay money toward?
if the imei is blocked then the phone is either reported lost or stolen, so if you cant get your phone back then report it to the police

Hello Everyone. I have purchased a LG G3 D851 (TMobile) unlocked from Dubai and intend to use it at India. I am worried about
1. Are the wireless and NFC chips different from the D855. D855 has 2 connectors while D851 has 4. Can I use D855 Back Panel on the D851 and vice versa.
2. Since it is unlocked, will the updates come from LG or should I wait for T-Mobile to send the updates.
As it is a quadband phone, there should not be any carrier issues.
And finally, why does LG G3 not include wireless charging off the box in USA like they do all over the world?
Your inputs will be much appreciated and will also help fellow xda folks as there is not much of talk about the differences between D851 and D855.
Cheers,
Karthik
Just found out that the D851 does not have any t-mobile markings on the mobile back cover or box. Infact even while switching on there is no t-mobile logo. But the model is LG D851. Is it even possible? Because D851 is the code for t-mobile. Please help clear these doubts.

I think that this is possible as D851 is also sold for Canadian carriers...

It came in a sealed box. The model number is mentioned as D851 while there is no mention of T-Mobile anywhere on the box or on the mobile.

LG G3 sold in Canada is D852. Please correct me if I am wrong.
If that is the case, LG has started selling generic D851s in America. I even found an user manual for Generic D851 along with the Tmo D851 on their website.
The European model D855 comes with a Qi Compatible back cover. The Indian model D855 comes with a Qi back cover, 1 Year Display Replacement voucher, and Discount voucher worth $160 on G Watch. I wonder why the American version is so basic.
Carriers abroad
I would assume, and I only do this out of assumption, that T-Mobile USA isn't the only one that uses the D851 and the bands that T-Mo uses here is the US is probably used by other carriers elsewhere in the world. If that is the case, then I would think that LG would have saved their money and gave the D851 to carriers abroad that used the same spectrum, minus logos and boot animations.

Thanks for the replies. On first set up of the mobile, I was shocked to find SperSU by Chainfire installed but its still not rooted. The mobile is brand new and has D85110C installed. I cannot find the Update Center (Settings -> About Phone). Please someone tell me what I have got myself into? Thanks.
Your "brand new phone" will not ship with SuperSU. If you don't have the playstore on ur phone, its another sign that phone is not new. LGs update center is also preinstalled.

LG PC Suite is working now. Playstore is there. Only thing weird was the SuperSU. Do people who unlock contract phones leave SuperSU on the mobile. And I found out that LG G3 Tmo and AT&T models do not have the Update Center visible. Wonder what is wrong with all these American carriers? Stupid, Absolutely Stupid.
Unlocked phone has nothing to do with SuperSU. SuperSU is strictly used for root. Again, T-Mobile, LG, or purchasing an unlocked phone will NOT have SuperSU.

The update center is most definitely visible in the settings menu for the US variants of the G3.

Can any AT&T and TMo users confirm whether they have the update software option on their mobile. I have seen a few users complain that it is not available in US Version. Please give your feedback. Thanks.

Oh that is great. Is it possible to download the update center as a stand alone app?
Did anyone stop to think that maybe when he signed into google he chose to restore his apps and it downloaded chainfire su from the playstore automagically? Since his phone wasn't rooted it seems logical to me.
Then again my IQ is only three times that of Stephen Hawkings so what would I know. </sarcasm>

Nope might. I have never used SuperSU Chainfire before. Anyways after a chat with LG US officials and after going through the files in the mobile I have found out the below:
1. Rooted Mobile
2. TWRP Installed
3. It has been flashed with LG-D851_Generic.zip (1.02GB)
4. It is indeed LG G3 D851 ( Without any affiliations to T-mobile )
If anyone would like the Generic version I would be happy to upload the file. So may be in some international markets, they are selling Generic Version D851. But it still puzzles me why my seller would root and install TWRP in a generic version.
If you open the back cover do you see D851 printed in white ink on any parts?

Yes it does have D851 written on various parts. Photo attached :
I guess it really is a D851 - T Mobile.
I brought Korean LG G Pro F240S. I noted its IMEI number, written on the sticker on the back of the battery and verify it with System's IMEI (from Phone Information) and found that both are different
IMEI on the Sticker start from 35503xxx
IMEI from System start from 0135200xxx
Please somebody tell me is there something wrong with my mobile, or it is a usual case with others too .. ?????
By the way 0135200xxx is AT&T IMEI number. Where as it is a Korean set.

Did you buy a used phone? If so, it might have been stolen and then the IMEI must have been changed by the thief.

Continue using this one. It's not your fault that you got this changed IMEI but be careful in future. Never buy phones without box and match IMEIs. These phones get blocked with stock IMEI as they are reported to authorities.
Edit: Your phone is 240S. You should use 240S ROMs.

Hello - would anyone know or know where I can unlock my T-Mobile US version LG G4? I have AT&T as my carrier right now. A buddy of mines works for T-Mobile and won this phone as a prize. When T-Mobile sent it to him they didn't give him an unlock code (He also has AT&T). I called T-Mobile and they wouldn't do it for me. I tried multiple unlocking websites I googled and it didn't work. One unlocking company said that my phone's IMEI wasn't registered as a T-Mobile phone and they couldn't pull it up. I checked my IMEI on T-Mobile's website as well and it did NOT pull up. Maybe it's because it's a phone given as a prize? I don't know.
I hope someone can help me!
Go to this thread linked in my post. Sunderwear has a working unlock for T-Mobile LG G4 phones. It isn't free, but if you need it unlocked, it apparently works.

Go to Settings; About Phone; Hardware Info and post the model #. Maybe it is international version?

Doubtful. My first clue is when he said it was the T-Mobile US version.
I Got my g4 from a prize and it will not show up on tmobile imei checker for like a week, after a week it will come up as financed. pm @Sunderwear he unlocked my tmobile lg g4 that is being financed.
I recently got a LG G3 I believe that is what it is I read that you can not remove the battery from G2 and I can from mine. anyway when I run my imei it comes up as a G2. Only thing I can think of is that the imei has been altered somehow any other ideals on why it comes up as G2. besides it coming up as G2 when imei is ran all comes up clean, but AT&T it says IMEI is not recognized in AT&T. which when booting I see at&t. I was told it is unlocked verizon says Clean (GSM or Activated by other User).
The korean version of the g2 has a removable battery and sd card can post a pic of your phone
Here is photos I have of my phone last one shows model from settings (not sure how to get them to show in post if bbccode will work or not)

This looks to be lg g3 100%.but the imei CAN be changed and looks like its been done to your device and the imei used looks like is from lg g2 but dont worry i dont thing you will have problems with it.
I believe the imei is changed just wanted to see what others thought. I need to put new back camera in it front works but wanted to double check what I was thinking on the imei. I was also wondering unrelated to this, someone told me all 4glte are unlocked is that true?
Is there a way I can get it back to a G3 IMEI? and why would someone change it?
I just got an unlocked LG G4 Is cellular, I noticed I can't access "Security" under Settings. Help!!!

I'm guessing H810? It's a hardware issue. Only fix is a board replacement.

I'd suggest returning the device. As you'd have to get the board replaced to fix your issue.

To further post above I would personally avoid buying used g4s as this seems to be a major issue arising. people are piecing g4s together with various model numbered parts and when it comes update time your in a big heap of mess.

Ok. I just confirmed the imei number under ABOUT and it's a LG H811 T-mobile.
But Phone model displays US991 (Us Cellular)
Can it be that the US991 ROM isn't stable and secondly, will flashing a new stock or Custom rom solve this problem?

You have to disasemmble device look at model num on mother board
the device may have a tmobile iemi
You have already said its a h810 h811 and us991 Like I said a big heap of mess only way to know which model is the actual mother board . The iemi may be from another device, you never know. There are a few threads of people going throught this exact issue of attempting to reflash stock firmware but get fails as no model nums match
If you flash the wrong firmware the device is as good as gone If possible you need to return it
