I recently got a LG G3 I believe that is what it is I read that you can not remove the battery from G2 and I can from mine. anyway when I run my imei it comes up as a G2. Only thing I can think of is that the imei has been altered somehow any other ideals on why it comes up as G2. besides it coming up as G2 when imei is ran all comes up clean, but AT&T it says IMEI is not recognized in AT&T. which when booting I see at&t. I was told it is unlocked verizon says Clean (GSM or Activated by other User).
The korean version of the g2 has a removable battery and sd card can post a pic of your phone
Here is photos I have of my phone last one shows model from settings (not sure how to get them to show in post if bbccode will work or not)

This looks to be lg g3 100%.but the imei CAN be changed and looks like its been done to your device and the imei used looks like is from lg g2 but dont worry i dont thing you will have problems with it.
I believe the imei is changed just wanted to see what others thought. I need to put new back camera in it front works but wanted to double check what I was thinking on the imei. I was also wondering unrelated to this, someone told me all 4glte are unlocked is that true?
Is there a way I can get it back to a G3 IMEI? and why would someone change it?

Apologies if Answered somewhere else..
I have a Sprint LG G2 Flashed to Page Plus where I bought it but I lose Data Service and Have to Disable then Re-Enable Data on a Regular Basis..
My Question is : Could a Genuine Verizon G2 Flash be put onto a Sprint G2 Phone to make the Phone True Verizon ?..
I would like to Make this Phone as True as Possible and realise I would lose all Sprint Stock Firmware which I don't really use anyway..
If this would be Possible would the Phone then Work out of the Box on Page Plus or would I have to Reflash to Allow Page Plus to work..
I am assuming that as long as the ESN number stays the same the Phone will just work and Hopefully Fix my Data Issues..
Does anyone think this would also fix the GSM Lock Issue ?..
Any Comments would be welcomed..
Thanks

Thing is, unless the phone was made for Verizon or Sprint specifically those carriers will not allow each other's or other CDMA carriers on their network because the ESN won't be white-listed and they wont do it, unlike in other countries, you will have to buy a new phone.
Also LTE bands are incompatible and Verizon has wireless charging which Sprint version does not, even if you did manage to flash, there is a chance you may soft/hard brick, espescially if you take an OTA from the carrier. So since your Phone is Sprint variant, that is what you are stuck with, granted the ESN is still valid.
I bought a LG Optimus G phone. The software reads as F180L. But on the back side of the phone model is written as :LG-LS970 (which is i guess sprint). I am not understanding which forum I should follow to use custom ROMS and rooting. This one or of LG optimus G sprint?

Looks like someone flashed an F180 ROM on your LS970 phone (unless the back cover was changed at some point, but the possibility of that is way less, IMO)... While it might work just fine, I would still suggest referring to a Sprint forum for proper info. Flashing another model's ROM on you phone doesn't mean it becomes that model; it's the hardware that dictates requirements and limitations of what you can and can't do... Just for the heck of it, try looking up your IMEI at imei.info -- it should give you the correct model of you phone (but still, sometimes it's not quite accurate).

imei.info shows F180. It means back cover was changed.

Well... I though of that as a possibility, but frankly, I am surprised. In that case, looks like you are in the right place.

OK, the most foolproof way, IMO, would be to check if your phone has a telescopic TV antenna at the top left -- only Korean models have it. Entertaining a crazy idea that someone may have put an LS970 cover on F180 and removed an antenna, or cut a plastic tip off of it (because LS970 cover just doesn't have a cutout for it), there will still be a channel for the antenna at the top left side of the phone under the back cover (you'll have to take it off to confirm).
In my experience, imei.info is usually pretty accurate within a model line -- for example, it showed LG G2 D803 as D800, which is reasonable. But I just checked a IMEI I know for E975, and it was listed as "LG Optimus G", without specific model. My phone is identified as "Swift F180", which is correct. Well... I dunno...

There is no antenna.
I just flashed E975 kdz on it and it works.
At imei.info I put IMEI of my LG-F350L (G pro 2) and it gave me a very model phone of LG. K200. :s

BTW on xda LG original software download tool I put model as F180 and serial number as IMEI. It gave me F180L30c_00.kdz.
I traded my perfectly working lollipop one day old note 3 for a lg g3 d851. Worst mistake. Network unknown all settings say unknown. My first thought blacklisted. I called tmobile unfortunately the previous owner of the LG reported it stolen. I told customer service if they know who it belonged to they are more than welcome to get the phone back. Long story short im stuck with a blocked tmobile phone. The phone is carrier unlocked ( I THINK) i just need any kinda of guidance as far as what i need to do to be able to use this phone. If thats even possible. I looked through rooting softwares but i dont see this phone compatible with any. One more thing. I love customizing my phones but when it comes to software roms etc i dont have a clue what im doing or even what half it means. Thanks in advance.
I've purchased a used tmobile g3. I'm running a custom rom / r rmx. I've tried to put my number in place of the previous owners' number. My number won't stick either in the phone or message apps. The phone was shipped with the stock rom and this is where I tried to change everything. Nothing I've done seems to work and I keep getting messages and calls from the owners number. How do I fix this???

Sombody chime in if I'm wrong but that should be impossible if your sim card is in. Did you accidentally buy a cdma phone?
No this a phone that the original owner purchased thru tmo I put in a new sim purchased thru tmo This is a gsm phone
Let me ask the question another way.If I put a new sim purchased thru tmo into a used tmo unlocked g3 why is the original owners number still in the phone instead of mine?

You are not getting any answers so I think your best bet it to call tmobile. Give them your imei and ask what's happening. It really sounds like you have a Verizon or Sprint phone. Don't forget they need to have a sim card for lte, it would explain why the old number isn't going away.
I do have a tmo phone. That much I do know.I've already called them and they can't figure it out either. I guess I'll have to go into the store to get further help. Thanks.
I have a Sprint ThinQ V8 that is no longer active after receiving a new phone from T-Mobile (a few months back). T-Mobile ported the phone number and deactivated the LG V8 remotely.
How can I get my LG SIM/carrier unlocked or should it already be unlocked?
Thanks

So, never did what you're describing. You had a G8 on t-mo network, you got a new phone from them, they ported the number to the new phone (why didn't you just take the sim out of the old one and put it in the new one?).
anyway, maybe when you say 'ported the number' yer basically saying on t-mo's website they now show the new phone instead of the old one. That's not really 'porting the number', that's just changing on their site which phone you have, and you put the old sim in the new phone?
Completely unsure what you mean 'deactivated the LG G8 remotely'? What? Is this a phone that you've completely paid for? If so, they have zero business doing anything with that phone other than carrier unlocking it.
you might want to explain a little more about what's going on.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the confusion, I'm a newbie at understanding how everything works. The LG V8 ThinQ phone was obtained from Sprint and was on Sprints network until T-Mobile called offering a new Nord N200. When I got the Nord N200, I called T-Mobile customer service and they transferred the number from the LG to the Nord by guiding me on codes to enter. The LG has been payed off for awhile. Is there a way I can check to see if the LG is now carrier unlocked? Thanks in advance.

Oh, that explains it. Yes a simple way to check if it's unlocked is put a sim in it. If it connects to that carrier, you can make calls etc, then it's been unlocked. If it's not, call Sprint, I think they are legally bound to unlock it if it's paid off.
