is there any other alternatives to sunshine for getting s-off i have been searching and cant find any, especially with firewater being discontinued, i currently have unlocked bootloader and root just need s-off now

You can check if your device is supported by sunshine (hboot version) without paying. But if you want to s-off, you need to pay at that time.

Any ROM that is supported by your current firmware (hboot, radio, etc. that do not flash with the ROM). Or you can update your firmware by OTA with s-on, depending on what carrier version you have.

OK So, I have a Verizon HTC One m7 running Android 4.4.2 and HTC Sense v 5.5. The phone is unlocked, S-Off'd, and rooted. Is it possible to update to 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 and Sense 6 without losing s-off and root? If so, what is the best way to do so? I've read that weaksauce, firewater, and other rooting programs do not work on the Verizon version of the m7 with the sense 6 update. I will not upgrade if it means losing control of my phone.
I know there are variations of this question on this forum. But I did not find one that answered the question explicitly for a Verizon m7 android 4.4.2 sense 5.5 s-off'd & rooted.

Taking the ota or using the decrypted ruu will not make you lose s-off and it will not lock the bootloader. Upgrade away and then reroot.

the update to sense 6.0 is still 4.4.2, 4.4.3 should come in the next few weeks....as long as verizon doesn't drag it's feet

boot into fastboot mode and flash twrp, then boot into twrp and flash supersu

I had installed the Skydragon Rom and it works but my WiFi dont works.
I read in Forum how to fix it but before i need to Set my M8 S-off.
I tried firewater but it dont works. After a few hours i read in another Forum that firewater is down..

Yes, firewater is no longer supported by its developers. You need to use Sunshine to s-off.
Alternately, if your version of the M8 has been updated to Android 4.4.4, you can return to stock ROM and stock recovery, then install the OTA to update firmware. Then install custom recovery and flash Skydragon (or other GPE LP ROM) again.

Yup, and hboot 3.19 corresponds to 3.x firmware, which is known to work with the LP GPE ROMs.
The OP is on older firmware, pretty positive, if Skydragon is giving him broken WiFi.

Oh I totally forgot.
I just used Sunshine to SOff my M8, I set the Cid to 11....1 and flashed the RUU that's somewhere here (graffixnyc rooted). I was a fairly simple process.
I really want slimroms to hurry up.
As the title says.
I did the dev edition conversion in January and unlocked and rootes in the process. I have had the last security update pending for the last 2 months but haven't installed it since i couldn't be bothered to flash stock recovery. So i suppose i won't get around flashing stock recovery if i want the OTA marshmellow update correct? and will i stay rooted after the update?

You don't need S-Off to root, unless you have the Verizon model.

Security Off.
It gives you access to all of the partitions on the device.

Unlock your bootloader via htcdev.com (instructions are given there as well as the method)
Flash the latest unofficial TWRP recovery in fastboot
Then either flash the latest SuperSU.zip or the ROM of your choice (most HTC 10 ROMs come pre-rooted) with TWRP

i have a european HTC 10 with root, stock android 6, s-on and Team Win Recovery Projekt 3.0.2-6. I wanna go to full stock (stock recovery) and update to official Nougat
I googled and found people saying to use RUU. My CID is HTC_034 and I downloaded RUU zip for this CID.
I put it on my root sd card and enter downlaod mdoe wit hvol down and power, confirm with vol up and get a error that something is missing. (Edit: 19 RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL os-version in adnroid-info missing or i)
Did I do something wrong? Or is my dl corrupt?
are there other ways?
Is this way also for stock recovery?

Can I skip RUU and go directly to fastboot for twrp backup and stockrecovery?

It needs to be same version as you have already for ruu or newer, can't be older as you're s on

Oh my, i dl 1.90.401.5, and i need 1.95.401.4. i will try again.
If it works, can I go to flash twrp backup and stock recovery? Do i need a special version or is 1.80.401.3 ok (I dl it already followimg a Guide, my internet is really low).
I have: twrp 1.80.401.3
recovery 1.30.401.1 and recovery 1.90.401.5
if they are wrong, do i need twrp 1.95.401.4. and recovery 1.95.401.4?

The ruu will give you stock recovery. With twrp, just flash the latest version after ruu

It took me a while since my internet is slow
So, after dl the right version it worked. I had trouble with my drivers to get fastboot to work but it did in the end. I locked the bootloader after that because the video i followed said so after RUU (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIX94bxx6VM).
Now i think i should have flashed TWRP first to get everything original right? With a locked bootloader it wont work or will it?

yeah, i need to send it in. i re unlocked and used my file but now my homebutton isnt working anymore :/ it worked before i flashed 2.41.403.1 even after RUU it worked.
also, when i go into my bootloader it still says that my software is modified. before i had stock it said official. should i have flashed original recovery and then lcoked the bootloader? :/

You can't get "locked" status without S-Off. You can only get "relocked" status which will show that the bootloader was once unlocked.

If it works after an RUU then there is no need to send it for repairs. It's probably from the ROM you are running or some other software related issue.

I'm aware of that, however that wasn't asked and I was expecting the next question to be about relocked status. Besides, even with s off and locked status ( which I have ) there is still a message on set up regarding the device being a test device anyway
