I currently have a m919 and using an AT&T sim. The ROM I'm using is AICP and I'm on the NB4 baseband. I had a problem with my signal strength using the lollipop version of AICP and was told to use the NH7 baseband. But I'm seeing HLOS and Non-HLOS versions both tar and zip files. I'm busting wanting a time that I can flash on my custom recovery that I won't be needing to download a huge factory file that I'll have to flash through Odin. Can someone please give me a link or at least guide me to the right path to take? Thanks in advance!

If I recall correctly, one can extract the modem.bin (modem) and non-hlos.bin (LTE modem) directly from the full stock rom.

Hi,
I own a galaxy note 2 lte version. I have a situation where i have to open, delete modem.bin and repack the stock tar.md5 file.
So here is the situation,
I recently flashed a MF2 stock rom from a different region (Portugal) onto my phone. If you guys are aware, the MF2 modem changes the efs partition and hence if I have to go back to an old stock rom the imei will not be recognized. So I have to re flash the mf2 modem to get the imei working else with old modem imei will not be correct.
What I plan to do,
Flash an old stock firmware without modem so that the current modem is retained and I have a valid imei.
I would like to ask you guys if you think it would work and in that case can I, using 7zip, extract the tar.md5 file and delete the modem.bin file and repack it to tar.md5 again to be flashed via odin PDA?
Thanks in advance for the heads up.

I don;t quite understand why would you delete modem, don't you need to flash previous modem version? Isn't it then easier to just flash old modem?

I plan to delete the modem from TAR just because in that case the old modem would be retained.
If you are not much familiar with linux, it will be more difficult for you to unpack, repack and adding tar + md5
Here solution which can be followed by newbie too
-Flash old ROM, (you will lose baseband and IMEI, don't worry)
-Extract new ROM (e.g. mf2) and find modem.bin
-Flash modem.bin with PC odin for 'phone' tab (unstead of PDA we are using for flashing ROM)
-Now you will have baseban and IMEI back
Done.

Thanks a lot for your timely help and concern.
I downloaded the Singapore Starhub MC1 firmware from the sammobile website and flashed it using Odin.
Luckily after flashing and setting up the phone -> the Modem was able to read mt EFS and my IMEI is intact.
Everything is okay. Happy :victory:
Finally, one more question,
If the MF2 Kernel makes changes in the EFS partition, in my case now -> how do you guys think the old MB3's modem was able to read the EFS partition and IMEI without any EFS backup / modem change.

ap: N7105xxdmb3
cp: N7105dxdll1
csc: N7105olbdmc1
May be this scenario limited to N7100
Or mf2 you have flashed still doesn't have kernel that causing efs modification.

Yes, I too hope the same.
I have the sgh-i317 unlocked and working on tmobile. I wanted to flash the stock 4.1.2 firmware from tmobile, but of course I can't use the tmobile modem on the att n2 unless I want bootloops and/or loss of imei. I can unzip the tmobile stock firmware file to look and modify the content folders. So my questions is, Can I just remove the tmobile modem.bin file from the tmobile 4.1.2 zip folder and then go ahead and flash away with odin. Or better yet, can I replace the tmobile 4.1.2 modem.bin file with the att MC3 modem.bin file and flash the whole thing together in Odin. Or is my best path to just flash the whole tmobile 4.1.2 firmware (including the modem) and then right away flash the att MC3 modem and then do the reboot? Any direction and help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
... Do you only have Odin to work with?
... Are you rooted with custom recovery?
If you have a recovery, I'd find a stock cwm/twrp image for T-Mobile, then restore my modem.

I'm currently running Jedi-X6 PORT (4.1.2) ROM on my Rogers I317M Note 2 with I317MVLALJ2 modem.
Modem from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987541
How do I install this modem? I317MVLUCMK5 Modem.zip
Via CWM recovery? Odin?
Will I lose anything installing a new modem?
Thanks.
Zip files = recovery tar files = odin. Caveat: is it a zipped file for Internet transportation?
Flashing a modem doesn't affect your operating system.

Thank you. I extracted it and there's no .tar inside. So recovery it is.
Perfect. Just make sure you check your APN settings after you flash, then reboot.

Easiest way if you have rooted your device, is to install TWRP (better than CWM) and just install the modem. Make sure you select install from TWRP and select the whole zip file (not the bin file). HTH.
I'm using note 2 stock rom version 4.1.2 baseband DXDLK7 but I flashed DXDLK5 to fix problem about SOS Call only , the problem is when I flash stock rom 4.3 or 4.4.2 I got SOS only problem again and I stuck in 4.1.2 forever . I flashed modem MJ9 but still not work , and all modem download link in this forum died since hotfile server down . All new custom rom such as lolipop and marshmallow require baseband modem XXUFND3 but i can't go to that modem because SOS Call problem . So how can I fix this problem ? Thanks
Make EFS backup and then:
Download firmware from sammobile for your device i.e. N7100.
Install 7zip to extract it and copy SBOOT. and modem, then use 7zip again and pack (*.tar) those files separately, so you will have sboot.tar and modem.tar
sboot is the bootloader and modem is...modem.
Use Odin to flash modem and bootloader in download mode, then use also Odin to flash TWRP.
Then go to recovery mode and install your ROM using instructions in ROM thread (1st post).
You have to know that stock ROMs are identified by letters and numbers, the newest is probably OE1, I used bootloader and modem from French ROM.

Hello, I was wondering if exist somewhere a collection of images to flash modem partition. Searching through the forum or sammobile I've found only full stock rom...
Edit: in my case I'm interested in (P605) LTE version...
Not sure if there is a collection of ready to flash images, but you could always extract the modem.bin from the full stock firmware, create an Odin .tar, and flash.
