Bluetooth Car Audio Stutter - T-Mobile LG G3

Experiencing extreme audio stuttering when connected to car audio via Bluetooth. This issue has been pervasive across every ROM I've used. The audio stutters heavily every 5-10 seconds no matter if I'm streaming or playing from local files. I'm using a 2015 Pioneer AVH-5700bhs. Other phones connect to this unit and play perfectly. This problem also exists when playing from my Bose Bluetooth speaker, though the stutter is not nearly as severe as in the car.
Tried different kernel governors and different kernels. Same result.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I would truly appreciate any feedback or fixes. Thank you for your time.

I'm almost sure all 5.0 roms have difficulty with Bluetooth. At least that's what I have gathered from lurking various lollipop threads. Try the thread from the ROM you are using. Good luck!

Every single lollipop rom i've used has the issue. it's a bug in cm12 and won't be fixed until the official 5.0 build is out from tmobs. from there, it may take awhile to be fixed in cm12. i have problems with stuttering, as well as connecting at times in my car. i've been using my aux cord and soundabout to deal with it until it's fixed.

Hi,
I don't know if my problem is the same.... perhaps due to language.
My problem is that every 3-4 minutes listening to music, sound pauses for 1-2 seconds, and then it resumes music for 3-4 minutes to next pause and so on...
I have the problem with a Cardo / Schuberth SRC System bluetooth handsfree.
I tried several Sense ROMs and I found always this problem, but with CM7 it works correctly.
I tried to compile the kernel by using CM7 bluetooth options, but no succeed.
I tried by compiling the kernel by overwritting all bluetooth source code related (using CM7 kernel code). I get an error, and once solved by merging code, the problem is still there.
I tried by overwritting all bluetooth related libraries, but the ROM is not starting.
If anyone has any idea on how follow...
THANKS!
This is a known issue with Gingerbread. I actually am surprised there's not more chatter in the XDA DHD forums about it. Google updated the Bluetooth stack in Gingerbread, which breaks compatibility with many Bluetooth audio devices, like headsets and car stereos. While some people claim that updating the Bluetooth stack on your headset/stereo should fix the problem, it's not always possible. In fact, it's rarely possible, as most of the manufacturers aren't going to bother with firmware upgrades for those of us with Gingerbread devices yet.
I haven't tried CM7 myself, as I'd much rather keep Sense, but I think Jorgitosms's on the right track. Not being much of a developer, I'm not at all sure how to go about doing this, but what about pulling the Bluetooth stack out of a Froyo Sense ROM and putting it into a Gingerbread one? I love everything about Gingerbread, except the broken A2DP audio, so I've gone back to Froyo. If we could get this done, I think a lot of people would be relieved.

I initially thought it was my bt headphones (nokia 905i) creating this skipping but today i exhumed my old htc hd and the music played skip free via bluetooth.
@craig0r, Ive had this skipping on Froyo as well so Im not sure, maybe I have a dud Desire HD. Mind you Im still on stock gingerbread rom. downgrading and rooting seems just too complicated, not too mention which rom to choose!

ICS Bluetooth Media Woes

I feel like I'm the only one who's been struggling with Bluetooth media since the ICS leaks started rolling out and as it seems like we're getting closer to a final build I'm getting worried.
So I often stream audiobooks and music via Bluetooth from my phone to my Sony XPLOD BT3900 aftermarket head unit. This worked just great on the GB ROM. However, on the ICS ROMs, my phone will randomly hot reboot in the middle of playing something. This includes the stock player, Power Amp, Mort Audiobook Player and Google Music. The audio cuts out, Bluetooth disconnects and the screen goes to the Sprint bootanimation screen with no sound, then quickly reloads the OS. I have to toggle Bluetooth off then on again on both the stereo and the phone in order to get it to reconnect.
If I turn off Media audio in the Bluetooth settings, just using Phone audio, and connect to the stereo via the Aux port, it works just fine with no reboots, so this is definitely a software issue (worked fine on GB) involving Bluetooth media (phone audio is fine) that may or may not be isolated to my particular stereo.
So I have to ask ... is anyone else experiencing anything the same or similar? Or does anyone have any suggestions as to what the cause may be other than simple incompatibility? It's been bumming me out as I hate having to plug a cable in every time I get behind the wheel.
Had the EXACT same thing happen to me at work today as my phone was linked to a Monster Micro Bluetooth Speaker . . . thought it was my ROM or recent flash that did it but I guess not. It does not happen to me in my car when I have my phone linked to my Motorola bluetooth car received and then my audio linked to my bluetooth jack . . . only seems to happen if both are linked to the same unit. Maybe FD02 will change all that.
I have the same problem and I am looking for a solution!!!
I stream music via Bluetooth in my truck everytime I drive. I connect it to a car dock. I have noticed that the phone seems hot when I pull it out but haven't really tried to figure out why. I thought maybe it was the sun going thru the windshield heating it up bit now I may not buy that.
I've done this with every ics build and am currently on cm9 a2. Never had a reboot though.

Thanks for your feedback, I don't know why you are able to stream music through bluetooth! I have read a lot of threads about this issue and nobody can solve it until now.
Jabra Clip Won't Pair with E4GT
I had no problem using this device on GB based ROMs but once i switched over to the ICS Leaks completely lost the ability to pair with my Device, I hope there is a resolutions to this issue, I can confirm this is still an issue as of FD02.
Running calks 1.4 and have no issues with Bluetooth streaming to Ford sync or my Bluetooth receiver listening to music with subsonic or tune in radio just fyi not trying to be a **** i feel your pain

Yup, works great with Ford's Sync. Picked up a 2012 Ford Focus the other day, and it's great.
Cm9 a2 working flawlessly. Had trouble with almost every other ics rom though.

what ics bluetooth problems as of now?
The problem is that when my gs2 is paired by bluetooth with my Sony MEX-BT3900U, it reboots every about fifteen minutes. It has been happened since I have updated my phone to ICS and not with Gingerbread.
If I just switch on bluetooth, it doesn't happen.
I know this is an older thread but I am having the same issue and I'm trying to search for a fix. It only started happening when I switched from GB to ICS. I also have a sony head unit. Anyone find a fix yet?

Well I switched to a JB rom and all is good. Must have been an ICS problem.

Bluetooth Audio Problems

Is anyone else having problems with Bluetooth Audio on Kitkat. Mine glitches quite oftemn with my Sony MW600 headphones and also my Bose Soundlink 2 Speaker, I didn't notice it before KitKat? I have also tried the Headset-Bluetooth-Fix_CWM but no change really?
Any solutions out there? anyone else using similar Hardware to mine without problems?

Hi,
I also have all sorts of problems with bluetooth, but I have not been able to find a good fix. To me it seems like issues with 4.4.2 and not specifically the Galaxy Note II. Looking at a LG forum, some guys adviced that switching off WIFI seemed to help. I have tried it out for one of my problems (microphone on BT headset stopping in the middle of a phone call), and it actually seemed to help. You could try it out.
Initially I thought it was issues with a Sony SBH-52 headset, but now that I also have issues (though different) with a Jabra Play, I have come to the conclusion that it must be the phone (software).
I am in contact with my local Samsung support team, and trying to see if they want to take the phone in for service.
Good luck!

Bluetooth issues

Hi. Wondering if anybody could help. When I connect my oneplus 5T to my car I have problems. When it starts to call it disconnects the bluetooth from the car completely. However the call continues on the phone which is a complete pain as you cant use it through the hands free. Car is a BMW 630CI with pro nav if that helps.
Many Thanks
i first had problems to connect to my audi A3 bluetooth ... it simply didnĀ“t find it
after trying again and changing the bluetooth audio codec it suddenly worked ...
Idk if it will work for you, but you can try changing the codec and se if it helps
Hi. Ive tried all 3. It connects fine and I can see my contacts but as soon as I hit dial it disconnects from the car.
Very strange.
Thanks for the suggestion tho
with mine in my car it every now and then gives me this a crackling sound.. Kind of irritating, I'm hoping a software update down the road fixes this.. I've tried all 3 codecs
Having issues with Bluetooth connection on my Prius Prime as well. It always disconnects, I had to disable Bluetooth on the phone and re-able it for it to work.
I experience the same with my Boss QC35. First connection, audio breaks with lots of noise and had to disable it and re-enable it.
Still found no solution. Hope the next update sorts it out as the bluetooth seems a mess.
So after looking around, there are issues with certain codecs and devices connecting being posted in the OP community forums. My Sony WH1000xm2 headphones stutter when using AptX HD. My JBL Everest 750NC's - if you turn the volume up too high, they disconnect from the phone. In my Cadillac ATS, whenever you place a call it'll stay connected, but you won't hear anything, and the other user can't hear you either.
I think they've acknowledged the issues and are working on them, but after putting Oreo on my Moto G5 Plus and Oreo's ability to change between all codec's on the fly (including native LDAC support!) I'm anxiously awaiting Oreo to be 'officially' released.
I'd say just be patient.. I'm sticking with this phone because I think it'll be worth it in the end. Wish I had better news!
so I resolved my Bluetooth issues by flashing FreedomOS. Now there is no intermittent crackling sound now and there is no issues at all ymmv, this was just my experience.
Thanks. Will wait for Oreo and then try different roms if it continues.
on FreedomOS before, it was giving me headache re-connecting to my Subaru car bluetooth, like after you shutoff engine, go somewhere and come back, unless you manually force connecting to the car, it barely auto reconnect back.
And also takes so long to get data sync from my Fitbit chargeHR to the app.
I don't think this kind of bluetooth issue related to what rom we have but the kernel and more specifically BT firmware.
-----edit-------
My friend also got BT issue when he tried to connect to BT headset. Hope Oneplus get something fixed on new oreo or updates
Just an update. Since upgrading to the official Oreo rom my problems have disappeared and my phone now works fine with the car Bluetooth.
Chris
I still have problems. Pause and unpause, and the track restarts. After ending a phone call the track restarts. 2018 RAM, Uconnect
With stock ROM 4.7.2 bluetooth connected only for a few seconds with my Audi A6. With every following stock ROM version it didn't even connect.
I tried every single Audio-Codec and the different settings in developer options - nothing helped. Once I cleared data & cache from the bluetooth system apps followed with a soft brick
Hi all,
Had same issues with my Hyundai ix35 and oneplus 5t (Nougat), tracks skipping, distorted audio in calls, etc... Tried emptying bluetooth cache, switching audio codecs without success. Now I just received the OTA update to Oreo (8.0), Oxygen rom 5.0.3 and it solved the issues!!! Yeay, no more auxilary cable hanging around !

I started from scratch but the issue persists.
I am having the same issue in my car. It no longer displays track information and the connection is not very stable. I will try switching the codec and report back.
i don.t have any volume control from the phone basically when i connect it to my car stereo
i can control the volume for the first 4-5 clicks ... and then the slider moves but there is no difference in the volume
i have to turn the volume from the stereo almost to the max
whit my old samsung tablet works great ... i have maybe 50% more volume then with my phone
tried all codecs ...

Bluetooth phone call issues in car

Hey there,
I'm currently running a OP3 with the OmniDragon 8.1 ROM and previously the ResurrectionRemix ROM. However, I do not believe this issue to be a ROM issue so that's why I'm posting here instead.
I've recently been having some issues with bluetooth and was hoping someone could help. I can connect my phone to my cars handsfree system perfectly fine and it works correctly. I can play music via Spotify and any other music player fine.
However, as soon as I make or receive a phone call I'm left where the person can't hear me, and I can't hear them. I can't even hear the ringing tone when phoning someone. However, as soon as I turn it from bluetooth back to the phone or just regular speaker, it works fine.
This previously was not the case when I was running Nougat.
But as soon as I upgraded to 8.1 this issue started happening.
I don't think it has anything to do with the ROM and is actually something to do with perhaps OP3 Firmware/Modem or something similar.
Car hands free works fine with other phones like an iPhone, so that's out of the question.
I've attached a catlog to this post from when this issue was happening in the car, so hopefully someone can narrow it down for me.
Any help is appreciated!
Actually many roms have been having issues with BT calls. It's due to some of the changes in the telephony package.
Hello, did you manage to find any Oreo rom that fixed this issue for you? Would appreciate any tips.
I too have had similar issues with Oreo and OnePlus 3. Using an handsfree Jabra Freeway and the microphone often does not work when I answer or phone someone during a drive. Which is extremely annoying and dangerous.
I had hopes that with the release of some alpha Android Pie roms, these BT issues would be fixed. But the issue seem to persist, at least for my device.
My only fix was to go back to nougat. The most stable rom i've found is the unofficial lineage 14.1 by sultan. This have been my daily driver for awhile now and seems to work fine.
