Wheee can i get the flashable zip fot debloating my S3 i believe someone called mr ashman or something created it like 2years ago almost might have the name wrong
To get rid of the bloatware, it's best to be rooted as some apps can't be removed without root.

Are you stock or rooted?
If I am not mistaken, to use the zip file you need to be rooted, but in any case I genarally use either titanium backup to remove unwanted Apps or es file explorer( just be sure to check the root option in the tools menu.
If you are not rooted then I have a zip on my laptop for you
Another way to DeBloat would be to use this app. It requires connection to a Windows computer. KitKat roms do not require root, I think Lollipop roms do.
I haven't used it, I don't have a Windows computer.

Hey guys:
I was having trouble updating my Profile and PRL on stock deodex rom. So I unrooted my phone and then flashed the stock 3.70 update. Then I was able to update my Profile and PRL. Then I rooted again with Unrevoked and Unrevoked Forever.
But I want to get back to having a deodex rom. I know I can flash a custom one, but is there a way to maybe deodex the stock version I have now? Maybe an apk or zipfile I can install that will do it?
Thanks
I believe it can be done through a program called ThemePro. It has a rom manager button on it which has all the standard rom tools (deodex, zipalign, build, sign, extract, etc).
I dont have the link to where i got it any more but if you search google you should be able to find it with out to many issues.

Would I need to dump my rom or is this like app that can be installed?
you would need to dump the rom to your pc or mac. once on your pc you can then have it extract deodex (zipalign if you want it too) and rebuild it/sign it for your use you can also use it to edit the apps it includes its pretty nice little tool.

I figured it was a long process. Nothing is ever easy. I thought there might have been a some secret zip / hack I could install
ah no sadly not that easy. though once it is on your pc it is really just a few clicks in the program to get it working and set up or at least it looks like it should be. I have never deodexed my own rom just know it is there and from the rest of the program shouldn't be to extraneous
So now that root is out, I have a few questions regarding it.
1. Will this stock kernel get rid of CWM?
2. If I use that stock kernel to revert back to the original system, will all my files be deleted?
3. What exactly did CWM replace on the original system?
4. Was it a bad idea to root my phone if I wanted to upgrade to ICS? The "to do" thread in the dev forum says ICS will be available for the SGS2, so will a rooted phone have problems installing the update?
5. I installed TitaniumBackup already, what other apps are very useful for a rooted phone?
6. I did not know to install ROM Manager before I did the backup in recovery mode.. is this a problem?
Thank you!
1. Yes, it effectively reverts CWM recovery image
2. No, it looks like it only affects the recovery image
3. CWM replaced the stock recovery image, allowing you to boot into ClockworkModRecovery
4. No, ICS, if and when it's released, will almost certainly be released by devs as a standalone ROM, that would probably be pre-rooted.
5. I installed CifsManager, for mounting network shares, SetCPU to underclock (and overclock when the time comes), and possibly Root Explorer for modifying build.prop settings.
6. ROM Manager isn't a requirement at all.

Thank you very much for the info!
I know that I could get a version of ICS from a ROM, but would a rooted phone be unable to download the official version of ICS without problems?
Im 90% sure.....not 100%
You will NOT get ics OTA from t-mobile if you are rooted. Let me make that 98%

This is not correct. You WILL get updates with root as long as you DO NOT remove any bloatware. The update package runs a check to make sure all the files it has matchup with all the files on your phone (in the /system folder). If you have removed bloatware, your phone will fail this check and you will be unable to receive OTAs.
That said, the OTAs will also be quickly rooted and pre-rooted, new OTA stock roms will be available for flashing (meaning you can get the update from here!).
Another alternative would be to do a NANDroid backup of your phone BEFORE removing any bloatware. Then, when an OTA is available you could simply NANDroid back and be able to receive it.
One last thing, it is very likely that when you apply an update to a rooted phone, you will lose root. There have been times where this has not happened but it is EXTREMELY rare.
Hey Everyone!
This is my first time doing an official ROM repact by injecting Root into the ROM itself so as to not trip the flash counter!
This is for Bell's Canadian S3 SGH-I747M firmware: I747MVLALE8
I know this has recently already been done by MrRobinson for the Canadian carriers but I have done mine slightly differently.
Most of you im sure know of Chainfire and his amazing work, well I love the work he does and it is my opinon that his Root app SuperSU is better then the Superuser one, this may be very minor or non exisist to some people and it all really boils down to Personal perference but as such I perfer SuperSU and love it and want to support his work!
I have tested this myself on my own S3 works great, counter does not increase, and flash time only took me 6 minutes! (some people were complaining about the other root injected roms taking 10 minutes and upwords to 20 to complete)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This rom has been injected with Chainfires CF root but it is only his SuperSU root app and does not contain any custom CWM recovery or Manager app. Chainfire custom builds his CWM manager app specific to certain devices and is not compatible with the North American varients.
To get the North American LTE version of CWM Recovery please see team epics website at:
http://www.epiccm.org/2012/06/cwm-recovery-on-all-sgs3-lte-variants.html
To install this recovery without tripping the counter you will need to manually copy it over to the memory card block which contains the recovery section of your phone. Once downloaded extract the recovery.img file out of the tar and place it into your sdcard.
Either through ADB shell or using a terminal emulator app on the phone run the following commands:
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
Remember to do "su" first to grand root access to the ADB shell or terminal emulator otherwise you will not be given the permissions to do the recovery copy on the 2nd command as mentioned above.
1 final note, like all the other root injected roms for the S3, these root methods currently do have not busybox built into them so it is highly recommended for you to download and install the busybox app off the play store [the one by Stephen (Stericson)] to get even more functionality for your rooted device.

My apologies in advance for uploading to filefactory as they are known to be slow sometimes on downloads. If anyone is able to host it for faster speeds that would be awesome.
EDIT:
For some reason the cache file doesn't properly install and so you are left with a blank CSC. Currently trying to figure out why this is happening as I havn't done anything to the CSC file to begin with. In the mean time I have taken down the link. I recommend getting the one made by MrRobinson for flashing Bells Rom

I am aware of this, I actually made a point of saying so in my post but I guess you skimmed it and didn't see that part?.
I also explain that mine is a bit different and why.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but SuperSu and Superuser and interchangable via. the Play Store. No need to redo the whole rooting process just to change the app.

Am I understanding correctly that this method doesn't use odin, and you somehow used another android phone to do it?

Yeah they can be changed out, but I released this anyways because I had started work on it right away when the firmware was released and even though MrRobinson had put out root injected roms before me I still wanted to complete what I started and not leave it half done.
I would of had this out at about the same time if not before the others but because of time contraints on my part as well as running into a few problems via doing the whole repack and inject a unique way on my rooted S2 Android phone. Instead of a Linux box I figured out how to do almost all of the repacking steps on an Android phone and then I was delayed trying to figure out 1 important step that required a full Linux box, but discovered an alternate means to do so on Windows.
At any rate I just wanted to post my work (even though late coming) and offer people this alternate root injection Rom.

No you still need to use Odin to flash the firmware. I see your misunderstanding though, I was just trying to explain in my post that since I dont have a Linux box I had to do the repact and inject process over ADB shell via my Rooted Galaxy S II phone for a Linux eviroment.

Damn! I was really excited! Oh well. I'll need to find me a windows pc.
Trying to find the folder in my Galaxy s3 that contains the apks ive downloaded and stocked in my phone so i ca move apks into the root ect. Used the Chinese SuperUser program thing to root my phone and then downloaded SuperSU. SuperSU removed the Chinese superuser automatically but is not in the root of the phone. I know where the root device apks are, but i can find the apks not in the phone root. Anyone can tell me the path please?

yessir. That was it. Thanks:good:
I can see from the questions that you can flash SuperSU and get root without installing a custom recovery on the One Mini but is this possible to do on the LG G3?
I've searched and I can't come up with anything.
I want to root simply to remove apps so I don't want to install CWM/TWRP as having a custom recovery annoys the HELL out of me. I don't understand why a custom recovery is needed? Can't the one that comes with the phone do everything those can?
IMO, they are just there cause they look prettier. LOL
Anyway, I have the T-Mobile G3. I had it rooted but unrooted to install latest update (that was hell, turned out my drivers were not updated). I used PurpleDrake last time but it installed TWRP and as I said, I don't want TWRP.
Any ideas?
Good question! Bumping this for you as I'm interested too!

I have the T-Mobile G3 as well. I rooted and got Supersu way before installing TWRP! It's possible. TWRP is a custom recovery that allows you to backup your entire phone (including software) in case you make a mistake. It also allows you to "flash" things to your phone. It has a lot of features and is needed to install a custom ROM or update that custom ROM.
You don't need it, but I would suggest it highly. The ability to backup everything is a must when you're doing something to your phone. It essentially prevents you from bricking your phone -- which I did. However, I made a full backup before deleting everything, so all I did was go into TWRP and undo the bricking by restoring a backup.
You can root your phone without a custom recovery. Then you can go into the play store and download SuperSu, then you can download Titanium Backup to remove the bloatware. A custom recovery isn't needed for any of this.
