Developer options enabled on phone killing battery - Moto 360

When I have developer options turned on, on my Nexus 6... My battery drains over twice as fast as when it's off. Is this normal behavior?

Anyone?

First I would post this in the actual N6 section but second just turning pm dev options shouldn't affect battery. Now once turned them on did you make any changes in there?

I asked in the CM12 thread and they were like "uhhh idk."
I turned on dev options to get the advanced reboot menu. The battery was pretty flat and when I turned dev options on, a very short time after my watch was super warm and the battery life expectancy went waaaaaay down.

How-To: A possible solution to battery life

So several people have started to notice that "AudioOut_1" wake lock might be polling our batteries unwillingly on our part. So I decided to go out and disable everything that could make sound except for the ringtones and notifications themselves since we all have to have that. This is what I came across...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Settings > Sound
Uncheck "Touch sounds"
Uncheck "Screen lock sound"
Profit.

Just went an hour without losing 1% battery after I did this.
Some people are claiming they only are losing 1% or less per hour now, just leaving the phone sitting not doing anything. So this may be the temporary fix for the phone being awake when it doesn't need to be.

I tend to turn those off anyway, just hadn't gotten around to it yet. I went ahead and did it now, along with vibrate on keypress. We'll see how it works!

Seems to be 50/50 on this
Ive had those off and I am actually going to run my phone in vibrate only mode for a while and see what results from that.
this has little to no effect on battery life. Look at your Android OS battery consumption before, and after. It will be the same
Biggest solution I've found for battery life is disabling my GPS when I don't need it, and going to CDMA rather than LTE/CDMA. They're still there for me when I want them, but most of the time I don't need them.
Right now I've had the phone off the charger for 4 hours where it was topped off; I'm at 91% now, with moderate use (Google Currents for half an hour, about another 20 minutes total screen-on time doing other dinky things, three texts)
First of all, disabling GPS will have absolutely no affect on your battery life. The GPS is only enabled when an app calls for it, if you don't have Google Maps open, then your GPS won't be engaged.
And turning off the sounds will have little to no affect, it's the vibrating that kills your battery more. Turn off haptic feedback, turn off vibrating notifications, turn off vibrate on key press for the keyboard.
Oh, and staying connected to wifi is much easier on the battery than using data. On wifi your phone doesn't have to keep polling the cell towers for signal

Turning off GPS works for me because I often use social apps (e.g. Facebook) that engage GPS for their 'check-in' features. It may be a minor thing, but having turned the GPS off, I've seen real results. *shrug*
Also, maybe a gimme for you smarties, but I disabled VZ Backup Assistant.

Yes what you are saying has made sense in the past for Froyo and GB but we are having some sort of unknown wake lock and this seems to be the biggest one. Ever since I have disabled both of those features my AudioOut_1 wake lock hasn't awakened the phone ONE TIME.

Install Better Battery Stats
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
Get your phone down to 50% under normal usage(Not playing with the phone until 50%) just keeping it in your pocket, checking it occasionally..ect
Open Battery Battery Stats
On the Top Drop Down select
"Partial Wakelocks"
and on the Second
"Since Unplugged"
What are the top three? Anything near 1% is minimal and should be ignored for now.

On one occasion, the tuna usb otg kernel process woke up for 7 hours, people got mipi_link keep awake high, etc.
Check the above threads.
If you have galaxy Nexus, check your Android OS Keep awake time... That must be high for no reason.
Nexus S users who got the official ICS from Google recently are experiencing the same issue.

I had a custom rom with dreadful battery switched back to the latest stock and have noticed the following: When you have good signal the screen on and awake seem to match up, i only lost 30% in TWO DAYS! then suddenly when i went out to the country side today i lost the remaining 70% in only a few hours seems that when the phone has low signal is is almost ALWAYS awake. I understand that in lower signal areas the phone tries harder to get signal but surly it shouldn't be awake like 90% of the time!
my top 1 was some sort of googlephotos sync service. i might turn off instant upload with google+.
that audioOut_1 was at like 1.2%, turned off these 2 settings before i unplugged from charger

Yep that is another major contributing factor to terrible battery life. My phone will drain VERY slowly in good signal and die rapidly in bad signal.

[Q] Watch stuck in Battery Saver Mode

My Huawei watch dipped below 15% and a card appeared asking if I wanted to activate Battery Saver Mode. I did. Later, I charged my watch, but the battery saver card was gone and the mode was still activated. The screen will not stay on, (despite having "screen always on" enabled), and I do not get any vibrations or other alerts.
How can I manually deactivate Battery Saver Mode? I don't see it anywhere on the watch or the Android Wear app on my phone..
Maybe Phone Settings, Battery, drop down Battery Saver on/off...

Ya, tried power cycling as well. Might have to just reset.. ugh Pretty stupid to have a setting with no dedicated toggle. Makes no sense.

@gohamstergo did you find a solution to this one? I did the same thing when my watch showed the option 2 days back and now the always ON feature is gone and the screen turns itself off in 5 seconds. Its highly frustrating. Any help appreciated.
Look in the watch developer options for the Ambient enabled/disabled setting.

I don't think this is the same as ambient option of a watchface. The batter Saver mode turns off the display even before ambient face gets a change to kick in. I was using the same face for quite some time and I do know for sure that it has a ambient face. Heck, I even tried changing to another face to verify it. Nothing works.
By the way, I did find a similar question on Huawei watch forums https://community.gethuawei.com/devices/huawei_watch/f/65/t/3794 and it seems customer care is also clueless about the same and suggested Factory Reset (just because they didn't provide a way to change the setting, that bad)
In the watch developer options there is a battery optimization setting. Maybe this can control the battery saver mode.

EDIT: I found the developer options after enabling them. However inside Battery Optimation it has two sub-fields 1. Ambient Mode and 2. Google Play Services. For both of them it says Not Available

Found this on the Internet about disabling the Battery Saver Mode on another smartwatch:
Pull up the battery saver card and swipe left until you get to the screen that says to disable battery saver, then press it.
Finally it worked !!

Thanks. This worked. I half expected it to as others had to factory reset.
Once the battery hit 15% mark, Battery Saver card appeared and I could turn it off. However there was no option to disable it in total. I seem to remember that there was one before, may be went away with a update.
Anyways all is now good.

Yes, well, it's hard to drain a fully charged battery down to 15% when the screen wont stay on to drain it. Quicker to wipe. Terribly planned feature.

question about battery drain when I think the phone should be dozing

Apologies if this has been covered before...I searched and didn't really find anything. If it has been covered, if you could please link me.
I am stock rooted on the latest oreo update and I have only had this phone for a few weeks, but the battery life seems pretty good when using it heavily during the day.
My complaint is that it will drain the battery overnight and shutoff. If I go to bed with it at 20%, battery save is set to turn on at 15, and sync is turned off...but when I wake up in the morning the phone is off and the battery is at 0. It doesn't look like one particular app is doing it either...so it feels like maybe it's not just dozing properly? Any ideas?
Goto settings, battery, tap the three dots, battery optimizations, and report back with a list of (if any) apps that report "not optimized"

All of the apps in there say battery optimization unavailable...
well I think I found the source of my drain. the other day it said I had 15% use from bluetooth over night when the bluetooth shouldn't be connected to anything, and I don't know why it's trying. so I turned it off completely before bed and no battery drain. i'm confused though, shouldn't I be able to leave the bluetooth on? I found a setting in location to disable bluetooth scanning, my next experiment is to turn that off and leave bluetooth on and see if the battery drain returns...

Battery drain Oreo

I'm on Atomic and from the beginning I've got a problem with battery drain. This night I charged phone to 100% and during the night I plugged out the charger. NFC / WIFI / DATA / GPS OFF. After 1,5h from 100% battery drain to 93% !
https://imgur.com/a/kN5IO
From what I see WIFI running whole the time (even it was off) + phone is not going to deep sleep whole time but stays 518,4Mhz for long time
Any ideas what to do ?
I found that one of miui apps captures tcp dump. If you look under the /MIUI/debug_log/common you will find 2 PCAP files called tcpdump.pcap0 and tcpdump.pcap1
I think that miui findphone application creates it, because i have set disabled "find my phone" and cleared data of these app and files did not appear again
I'm not on MIUI.
So... you can have enabled "always scan" option in wifi setting.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/5t93e4/turned_off_wifi_and_bluetooth_scanning_battery/
Ok I have disabled this option.
Lets see after some time, but I feel like something is keeping my phone awake and it is not getting to deep sleep all the time..
There is a module for magisk that force Doze.

Try turning off nfc.
I have installed crDroid and looks like drain gone. Just NFC has to be off.

Battery Saver turning on by itself? You're not alone...

Seems to be the glitch of the day, possibly related to a play services update. Turning it off in quick settings will only be temporary and it will turn back on.
To fix, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Saver.
It may be set to 99%. You can either lower it or turn it off.
Yes, mine also magically came on. Turned it off and it turned back on....
yeah.. i wasn't feeling great earlier.. so i decided to lay down, thought i'd somehow unlocked my phone and accidentally laid on it.. then I see this, and a blurb from Android Police about it.. But, when I turned off battery saver, it stayed off..
