[Q] Sound + Root Issues on Z1C - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey folks,
So I have a problem with my Sony Xperia Z1C (D5503), and would appreciate some input on my theories as to how to fix it, at which I have yet to be successful.
I live in China, and I bought my lovely device on Taobao a few months back for a very discounted price (risky, of course, and to be certain this is where the issues stem from). I purchased the Hong Kong version instead of the Chinese version, because the Chinese version is built to block Google Play by default and comes with a bunch of junk apps. Anyway, I was stupid and didn't get a chance to use it before the seller's 7-day return policy was up, so it was too late for a return after I found out about its issue.
The issue is this: when I receive a call, the caller cannot hear my voice. Not that it's completely silent, it's just muffled and quiet. I've tried various things, turning on and off the Microphone Noise Suppression option, adjusting the caller's sound options, but nothing; it seems there's a defect with the microphone. When I switch to speakerphone during a call, however, there are no problems. On a related note, the same thing is true when I use apps like Skype and particularly WeChat: if I send someone a voice message, they can barely hear me. Only when I use a headset are there no problems. So, to continue using this phone, I've succumbed to bringing my headphones around with me and plug them in when I receive calls or have to send a voice message.
So the microphone's screwy? Interestingly, when I record with other apps, like the Sound Recorder app, there are no problems. It picks everything up perfectly. It must be recording on "speakerphone" for this app, if that makes sense; right?
Anyway, I was wondering (hoping) if the kernel loaded on my phone has anything to do with it. It's the stock kernel but one that seems to be used more for the Xperia Z1. Since I'm mentioning it, here are all the specs:
Model: D5503
Android Version: 4.4.4
Baseband version: 8974-AAAAANAZQ-10270054-61
Kernel version: 3.4.0-perf-gaee6e5a [email protected] #1 Thu Oct 9 09:14:33 2014
Build Number: 14.4.A.0.157
Anyway, I still have this hope that the problem is fixable. I am inclined to wait for the rollout of Lollipop for the Z1C, but that could be months, and this has been going on long enough as it is.
I'd appreciate any input, especially if you think I'm on (or not on) the right track thinking that flashing a new kernel may make a difference, assuming it is a conflict with the firmware. Or, perhaps I should just accept that I was sold a defective product for a decent price (I mean, everything else is working OK...).
Should also add, running the service diagnostic test for both primary and secondary microphones provides clear, audible results.
A few additional details, that may be of interest: my phone is rooted, with SuperSU as the app. The stock version of the app is a system app, but when I update the app, it loses its system app status and also does not successfully update the binary. I couldn't install busybox for the longest time but was finally able to do so through the advanced root options FlashTool. This is interesting, I think. Also, there is no recovery mode.
Thanks for your time!

Looking at the Sony forums there are a lot of complaints about muffled calls and poor microphone on voice calls, with no comment from any Sony moderators, which isn't a good sign.
One suggestion was to turn off the "Microphone noise suppression" option in call settings. Another was to not have the call on speakerphone.
Someone else suggested editing build prop, which if you've got a rooted phone should be easy.
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall : false
I think this turns the audio post processing off.
You should get recovery working, try installing the latest recovery from NUTs dev page, this installs from your PC. This will help you get a working SuperSU as it will restart in recovery mode.
The file you are looking for is called
Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.8.2-RELEASE.installer.zip
Once you have recovery you could do a nandroid backup and experiment with a factory reset.
If all that fails, it looks like it's a problem limited to Sony stock builds, so it might be worth experimenting putting a CM rom on your phone. Obviously read up on how to do this properly, and make a copy of your TA partition so you can back to stock if you change your mind.
This page is a good place to start.

HTC Desire HD no sound with calls

I've had my DHD for about few months now. But as of few days ago, started to encounter a unusual problem with my Desire HD.
When making a call; there is no sound (expecting a phone ringing sound and the other party voice when he/she pick up). However, upon the other party pick up and answer the phone; cannot hear his/her voice. Immediately switch to speaker mode; can heard both the ringing tone and voice. That means, could only hear his/her voice in speaker mode. As on the answering party, everything works as normal. He/she could hear my voice clearly, but I just cannot hear his/hers. All the above mentioned problem also happen during answering call.
Initially, suspected the speaker maybe faulty. But, after some testings (music, ringtones, video, answering call using speaker mode...etc); the speakers seem fine. So, I presume no problem with speakers. Called the service center and they suggested to reset the phone to factory reset. I did that but still cannot solve the problem. Took out battery, sim card, SD card etc... hard factory reset multiple times still does not help.
Search the web and quite a few had the same problem. However, there seem to have no solution. Please advise if anyone had came across similar problem and if have a solution to it. I really think it is unlikely the hardware problem, unless DHD has 2 speakers. But, from the HTC DHD disassembly video in youtube, it seem DHD has only one speakers. Anyway, I could be wronged. So, please advise and thanks and really appreciated your time.

Humm.... seem not so common problem. Anyway, went down to service center and they claimed to be receiver faulty. I am not sure how this problem is related to receiver. Anyway, I still hold on to my phone and schedule to send for repair if still unable to find a solution and get it to work by Monday. Thanks for viewing.

Desire HD Call volume
Hi folks just wanted to let you know I am having the same issues as AnA1995.
It started off as an intermittent fault but now its permanetly off (for calls only)
As soon as you dial a number 'Speaker off' shows up
I did read somewhere on the net that the phone thinks its in a car kit and purposly mutes the internal speaker?
While I don't have phone insurance I was told by carrier (Vodafone Ireland) that it sounded like a manufacturers fault and they would get it fixed under warranty.
So gonna sent it in for service tomorrow.

Cannot hear voice in call
Hi,
Today I was making VOIP call using CSipSimple application in HTC DHD phone. Suddenly voice got broken and I have restarted the application.
After restarting it, I am not able to hear voice of person to whom I am calling.
I have checked speakers and it seems to be working fine. I have tried making normal call (no-VOIP) but still I am not able to hear voice of opposite person. I have checked audio and call setting, everything seems perfect.
Can you please let me know what could be the problem? Actually I have bought phone from India and right now I am in South Africa.
Same problem with ny Nov 2010 Desire HD

I got the same problem.
I bought it in Singapore, and brought to where I live now in Jakarta, Indonesia.
After couple months, the internal speaker getting worse and worse, and later on I could not hear anything from it.
Then for call, I use the loudspeaker or headphone, but seems it is not convenient to carry cables or bluetooth headphone for each single call.
I contacted the customer support in Singapore (global waranty), and they asked for factory reset. Have done it, but no result at all.
Then they requested to send it via DHL. Any cost incurred during shipping and handling will be borne to myself.
After tried to check the price of DHL shipping, I found 76 USD per shipping for 1 kg box.. o my God, then I need to pay for USD 152 for vv shipping then??
Bad experience with this...
Considering to go to non-waranty repair center, but don't know the service quality for this desire HD..
Any suggestion? thanks
you can change the speaker simply
just go to YouTube and watch videos about HTC Desire HD Disassembly
in youtube you can't find front speaker !!!
any update on this problem?got unroot, fully stock desire hd with OS version 2.3.3 sense2
i hade a problem like your, but my prob was that i was not hearing the caller and he was not hearing me..when i send it to assistence they told me that i used another charge so i burn a chip..when they send it back to me unrepaired..the mobile was working well im lucky
Yes..even I have this problem for some months now. I have upgraded my SD card to 32gb and reinstalled to factory settings. Have also un installed go launcher ex. Don't know if it is having issues with dhd. But I doubt it is. Havent noticed problem now for two days. Will update if it is solved in coming days. Btb, am on Vodafone India. Or may be is it a network problem !?

Anybody still have this problem? I can't figure out if it's a hardware problem???

More than likely it is the receiver. That seems to be the consensus from all the research I have done, as I have the same issue myself. Been looking for an online supplier for that part, but so far have not been successful.
I got the same issue but all seemed to be great with new radio install

Tried to re-flash my current radio, followed by an updated one with no success.
Back to shopping for the receiver I think.
Edit: Found one... http://www.dockandcover.com/p-receiver-for-htc-desire-hd-9191-phones_5782026
Was having this problem some time ago on a custom rom. Changing my radio fixed it all.
@MDLefevere - what radio did you use. I have the same problem with making phone calls - have to use loudspeaker which is quite awkward.

I had the same problem with my old phone "motorola defy" which was a common hardware fault in a specific bunch of phones (ones with white backplate) therefore i had it sent to motorola and they had to change the speaker and then it was fixed so i believe you are having same problem here.
@shad0wboss - thanks. I guess I'll have to do just that. Service is the name.

Audio out when using car dock?

Has anybody tried to make a phone call with GN docked? I can use audio out for music player or tune-in, but when accepting a call all goes silent until I end the call and music resumes normally. I have it connected to my car stereo and all worked well, when my GN was connected directly. So prying out my phone to accept a call doesn't make sense. Did I miss something?

ive seen mine where the sound quality is not that good and ive been trying to track down the source of it. I can hear callers ok. i noticed when im trying to do voice commands like "call mom at her cell" when its recognizing the audio the waveform that is shown is all overblown and not very clear at all(not to mention the recognition doesnt work very well at that point). so im assuming the phone call quality doesnt work that great either. im in the process of reviewing a recording a made to my test box at my workplace to see how well it recorded.
i have also noticed that the volume that comes out of the 3.5 at the base is not very loud at all and i have to crank up my car radio all the way to be able to hear it moderately loud.
oh, as a suggestion regarding something more on topic of your issue, do you have the power plugged in? i know that the 3.5 mm jack doesnt do anything if theres no power.
do you notice if music is playing that the volume doesnt seem very loud?
Hello,
Same issue here. I don't use (play) music, but when I dock (official Samsung car dock for GN) my GN (got notification "Car mode") I get calls and I don't hear caller and caller don't hear me (vi BT of course).
Turning off "car mode" does not help too !
What's more funny I have turn on sound on screen tapping - and that sound goes via BT - but no call voice/audio.
Stupid bug that make GN unusable in dock.
I found out that when I have phone application on (like you can type number to call) the "car mode" does not turn and than all calls are ok.
So:
1. When you dock and "car mode" turns on - you don't have call's audio/voice
2. When you dock and "car mode" does not activate - everything works fine
Any1 know workaround or solution?!
Rgds,
W.
ps. so sad google made that phone with Samsung - I hate samsung !
hmm, so if you do have the power on, and the audio cable plugged in, you dont get sound out of it?
what do you have selected as the audio source for the call when the phone call is active? (ie: handset speaker, speaker phone, bluetooth)
are you both on the stock rom?
again im not seeing this, i am able to make a call and the call i can hear fine
Why should I use audio out from dock while I'm using BT in my car ?
Of course I don't use audio out - I don't need more cables in my car than only charger one.
During call audio source is changing to BT - tried to change to something else and it doesn't helped.
More over - sometimes when I undock phone and I call somebody the effect still exists and I need to reboot GN
IMHO it is some kind of ICS issue and "car mode"
And I use stock ROM - I'm too old to play anymore for changing ROMs every few days (I've done it for 6years with my old Windows Mobile phones).
version: 4.0.2
compilation: ICL53F.I9250XWKL2
oh, so youre using bluetooth outside of the dock and not the 3.5 mm jack on the dock....ill have to test that out to emulate the car BT with my headset.
o.0
youre still on 4.02?
Yes. Still on 4.0.2 - there is no update for my phone (using system update in settings).

If you are using bluetooth, go to Settings/Configurations, click Bluetooth, click the sliders icon to the right side of your bluetooth device, check if it has a Telephone / Phone Audio profile and that it is checked... Perhaps only Media Audio is checked, or, your device only supports Media Audio, then you will get this behavior. If you have Phone Audio and it is unchecked, just check it and you are good to go... If it doesn't have Phone Audio, then I don't know a solution, but perhaps someone else does...
Of course I have phone profile for BT enabled (and media disabled)
GN and calls via BT works perfectly if not docked
Any1 ?
alas my bluetooth headset is broken....it served me well for a year and a half, so i cant test this out immediately for you.
i'd say it would at least be worth a shot to get the yakju build installed on your phone so that you CAN get timely updates and see if 4.0.4 makes a difference for you. all you have to do is unlock the bootloader and flash a few images in fastboot then you can even relock the bootloader again if you want, then youll be on the official yakju build which gets updates.

I've bought GN to not play anymore with flashing custom ROMs - even if good. I've believed that Google will make updates for GN as priority updates and GN owners will always has first new version of Android. Anyway... I don't want to flash
I would buy HTC (like One X or similar) if I would like to flash anything.
I think I should find some time and report bug to Google
Rgds,
W.
thats the thing, its not a bug, youre just not on the build that is maintained by google and the link i gave is not a custom rom... its the one maintained by google. you need to be on yakju build to get updates, otherwise youre relying on samsung or whomever maintains your build. look in your build.prop for ro.build.description, if it doesnt say yakju-something then youre not going to get your update very soon...
but oh well...either way, ill post back here again when i get a new headset to test it out for ya

Hmmm... I thought that when I will buy Google phone than Google will take care for it's firmware and updates. And now you saying I was wrong and it's samsung (which IMHO makes too much mistaes and bugs ).
Ok - my ro.build.description is "yakjuxw-user 4.0.2 ICL53F I9250XWKL2 release-keys" - is it google's ROM ?
Rgds,
W.
no, thats the build i had as well, i bought my phone from expansys, not the play store, my g/f's GN was bought from the play store and had the takju build(same as yakju but contains wallet built in). takju and yakju are the same essentially and really the only ones that will get updates from google in a timely manner.
Thank you for explanations and I'm happy I'm on "proper" stock ROM.
I wonder why I'm still on 4.0.2 and no updates than while I see around that people have 4.0.4.
no, sorry if i didnt explain clear, you are not on the build from google. yours says yakjuxw, it needs to be either yakju of takju to get the timely updates, which are included in the link i listed. once you flash yakju or takju you will get an update, as did i when i flashed it, and you will also get 4.1 when it comes out. all of that without the need to flash some custom thing again, as long as you flash yakju or takju.
After flashing YAKJU ROM everything started working with car dock - call's audio working via BT and doesn't metter if "car mode" is on or off
Many thanks to disgustip8ted for help and explanation of GN's ROMs.
ps. I will be testing a little more but first tests are OK
ps2. stupid Samsung of course made some bugs in theirs ROM's version
thats awesome news man... i wonder if the OP is on the same build you were.

[Solved]Collecting info on bluetooth issue with cm7.2 ROM

I came upon a dealbreaker issue with bluetooth. I haven't used bluetooth since long before i rooted my desire and have had this issue since last week when i started using bluetooth again.
My headsets are two Sony Ericsson MW600 and the issue is with cm7.2 based ROMs.
I have tried with Mildwild 5.0 and Cronmod 1.05.
The issue consists of sound not being transferred to and from headset at incoming call. Ringtone plays when call comes in and phone button works on headset. Otherwise media plays satisfyingly but not flawless.
A forum search revealed one previous post with same phone, same issue, cm7.2 base and different headset. No answers to that thread, though.
I'd like to collect some experiences on the matter, to present devs with.
Thanks
Problem solved. Bt in conflict with call recording app. Changed to skvalex's call recording app and all good.
I have a similar issue with MIUI rom. how can i change / disable the recording application?
Try uninstalling or freezing it. Then make a call.
As far as i can see, there is no way to remove the recording option.
The recording is disabled (not recording) by default, and i never enabled it.
I did all my checks on clean install.
Try to find a suspicious service and stop it. Any weird thing might be what's interfering with your bt. Try altering every setting that has anything to do with calls. T n' E
I was unable to find some service responsible.
Buy chance, a friend of mine came with the same phone and asked me to root in and install the same rom i have.
in his case the headset worked with original rom and with the rom i use.
the only difference i noticed was different Radio version.
His is 5.10.05.30
and mine is 5.17.05.23
I also think that his device use OLED display and mine SLCD
So, of course you secretly switched phones with him?
Unfortunately no. So the problem is still there.

[Q] Broken Internal Microphone MOD Request

Hi all,
After an extensive search around the web and these forums I have not found a solution to my problem. In a weak moment, I spilled a small amount of water on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus and my internal microphone was broken as a result. The broken microphone left me with a horrible static sound during calls and the person on the other end unable to hear me. However, when I use the phone on speakerphone, calls work fine. I'm assuming this is because the speakerphone uses a different mic (i.e. the camera mic?). I've thoroughly tested to make sure that the microphone is broken by wiping completely, going all the way back to stock 4.0, and checking the microphone on each of the following iterations of Android. I went to Verizon and had my SIM card swapped out to no avail. After the problem failed to fix itself, I re-rooted and am now running CM 10.1.
Anyway, as a user of Groove IP for my calls, I started messing around with the settings and found that it allows me to change the default microphone during calls. It allowed me to force the phone to use the camera mic rather than the internal mic and, alas, it worked! I'm sure the quality on the other end is not quite as good but it's the best I'll be able to do at this point. Now, here comes the MOD request.. I'm wondering if any of the amazing devs that frequent this forum could take a look through the source code and see if they can force my phone to use the camera mic all the time (via a flashable zip?). This would allow me to use it not only during calls but throughout my system as well (i.e. voice search, text to speech). This would really extend the life of my device and I'd love to buy somewhere a beer or two for helping me out.
If you want to see how Groove IP does it, the mic source settings are in Groove IP (lite or pro) troubleshooting section of the settings. Thanks in advance!

Im preety sure thats a software glitch you have there my friend the speaker and normal phone use the same microphones as far as i am aware. The reason it may work in speaker phone only is because the galaxy nexus has a microphone on the top and bottom of the handset. Which mic is not working. I need specifics.
Hmmm... Okay, I didn't know it uses a second mic other than for noise cancellation. I was assuming it was the bottom mic, and I test it by using the Sound Recorder app and all I get is static. I can record videos with audio just fine, which is how I know the camera mic works. It would certainly be a curious software issue, considering the problems occurred immediately after the water damage, but I'm open to it. How do you think I can test the different internal mics to see which one is/isn't working?

From what I know now it sounds like a hardware issue. I highly recommend buying a replacement. Im not quite sure what youy expect from a mod or something. Could you explain. Ill try to help as best I can.
p.s. also I just posted my new project HERE for the galaxy nexus and im not sure if the download link works for anyone but me on my google drive. would you mind at least testing the downlod link for me? Thanks!

Well that replacement mic could certainly be an option, I appreciate the link. I can also confirm that your download works as well.
But what I'm looking for is this, some sort of mod that will deactivate the broken (internal mic) and tell the phone to automatically use the camera mic in all situations in which a mic would be needed. Basically tell the phone it only has the one mic. I'm not sure if this is possible or even plausible, but I appreciate your help either way.

You will need a special sort of mod. Im not sure if there are any out there. I could take a look into making one for you, if you like (no garuntees).
P.S. Thanks for trying the link.
Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.. Even if you get in there and decide it's too much work, that's fine. If it won't work then maybe I'll try that replacement mic, though I'm not sure I have the steady hands or the technology to pull off a job like that.

You can replace the mic for under $15 so it isnt too bad price wise. Do a google search locally for computer or phone shops. You can often time get them to replace it for like $50, but its garunteed to be properly installed. Doing it yourself isnt very hard if you have a good instruction ste and the proper tools.
Yeah, that would definitely be better than getting a new device before I'm ready. Thanks.

So I replaced the USB and mic to no avail... The same problem persists. Major static on phone calls until set to speaker phone and nothing but static recorded with the sound recorder. I suppose it's a problem with another piece of hardware or actually a software issue. I've rooted, un rooted, wiped, and wiped some more, so I'm suspicious it's a hardware issue.
Is it possible or even plausible to make a (flashable) mod that tells my device to only use the camera microphone (or the other mic?) for all situations in which a mic is required? I'd be willing to throw a beer or two (or whatever your poison) your way as this would really extend the life of my device.

I have the same exact issue!
I've been looking everywhere for the past month to find anyone else with this problem... I can't believe i missed this post somehow. For me it started after i put my head to my phone after a shower. I wasn't sure it was from this as i had recently started using a new ROM as well as an extended battery from Hyperion.
I have attempted replacing both the headset speaker ( the one used when you put the phone to your ear) which includes the second microphone and that didn't help, and i just tried replacing the microphone and that didn't help either.
I have also attempted going to earlier ROMs and that didn't help.
I have been wondering if flashing a different radio may help, though i figured it probably is not related to the radio as the calls sound fine on the speaker mode. Have you discovered anything else with your phone?

Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I've accepted the fact that I can only use my phone on speakerphone. The most disappointing part of it is that I can't use voice actions on my phone.

Thanks for the update. I plan on trying some more things in the next week or so and will keep you up to date.

I should also note that since I first notice this issue, I also noticed my phone slow to detect the charger after plugging it in. Instead of it being to charge almost immediately after plugging it in, it take about 10-15 seconds before it detects it. This problem persisted even after replacing the micro usb component.
same problem with my Samsung galaxy s4

Hi all,
After an extensive search around the web and these forums I have not found a solution to my problem.

I also had the same issue with my Samsung galaxy s4 I thought it was a software glitch but finally figured it out as a hardware issue.my bottom calling mic is broken but top mic is working via speaker mode so I am looking for the same solution.if you got any kindly reply that will be greatly appreciated.

[Q] S3 4.3 AT&T S-voice no longer works with Bluetooth mic.

Well, I dug myself a hole by allowing the OTA to 4.3.
On my AT&T S3, SGH I747, I was running 4.1.1 stock rooted, with a toggles mod, and the At&T update got pushed to the phone one night. It could not get past TWRP so I swapped back to a stock recovery. The update ran again, and failed at about 25%. I didn't think anything of it since the phone worked fine, until I discovered that I could no longer change the icons on the lock screen (settings would stop working). So, I installed Kies (which it turns out will not connect over a USB 3.0 port, but thats another wasted couple of hours and another story) and backed up my accounts, settings, etc.
I then flashed to a stock 4.1.1, and then allowed the OTA update to 4.3. This time it went (Yay..sort of).
So, I'm looking at the new features, and finding some useful and overall enjoying thew update, but ran into trouble with S-voice and bluetooth, specifically, the microphone in my car. This used to work. I could press the mic button on the cars Nav unit (Parrot BT) and I could say "call "X" mobile" or "play Concrete Blond" and the phone would do what I told it to, more or less.
Now, It will not connect to the mic, I get a brief message "Check in-car audio" and after 3 seconds the car reverts to playing music (it mutes when you press the mic button). The other BT functions work. My contacts are transferred, I can force music to the unit, I can place calls and we can hear each other, etc.
After a bit of reasoning, I began to zero in on S-voice as the culprit. I confirmed this by installing Bluetooth connect and pointing to Google search when the mic button is pressed. This allows me to make calls via voice command, but that's all.
I used this feature a lot., probably 3rd or 4th down on my priority list, after phone and camera. I'd like to use it again.
Here are my options as I see them.
-Leave well enough alone and wait for Sammy, or my Navs mfg to fix their stuff and use google search instead for now. (Will they do it faster if I hold my breath?)
-find a 3rd part app to make S-voice do what its frikken supposed to do. (Not sure if their is one)
-find an older version of s-voice and install it over the current one, which may or may not work. This would require that I have a working backup plan in place and since I understand that the bootloader I now have (MJB) is a one way trip, this limits my options. (can't flash back to 4.1.1 and don't have a 4.3)
So... does anyone have..
-any sympathy? (It's Christmas day)
-a solution to my problem?
-a recommended app to patch this?
-an older version of S-Voice form a S3 phone?
-info on any of the 4.3 roms floating around (can they be installed over a stock 4.3?)
I'm having the same problem. I didn't know S-Voice was broken until I did a factory reset last week to fix problems with T-Mobile wifi calling. I had been using Utter! for voice control, which has pretty good voice recognition, but randomly stops working with bluetooth. Since I hadn't tried S-Voice for a long time, I wanted to see if there had been any improvements. Once bluetooth is connected, the S-Voice mic button is disabled and the bluetooth button has no effect on it. I may end up going back to Utter!. Unfortunate, since almost every option except S-Voice is just too open-ended for use in the car. I don't want to ever be required to look at or touch the screen. For all the complaints I have seen, nothing can top Sync in my Ford. Voice recognition is excellent and everything can be done by voice.
well, I'm glad at least I'm not the only one. after some experimentation, I bought an app called Klets, which works with specific music players, Poweramp being one, so I got it as well. I had no luck with utter.
Klets works using google's voice recognition engine and works well. You can add custom commands to the already huge list it has. Well worth 2 bucks! Like all VR apps, it has issues with background noise. It is also written by an Italian, so some of the translations are a bit off. When calling a contact, you get "I'm starting to call towards (contact)"
Poweramp also has the advantage of boosting the volume a bit, which helps with the car since the input volume for BT is set so low, or BT output is low. Either way, it helps. Plays FLAC too.
