Stock Lollipop-->4.4.4 based ROM [possible?] - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!
I own an HTC ONE M8 [non rooted- just stock] and I have updated my device to Lollipop 5.0.1 via OTA. Unfortunately, since Xposed is currently working under beta conditions, I want to downgrade to 4.4.4 to use the "full power" of my device So my plan is to:
1. root and unlock the bootloader of my HTC [currently on stock Lollipop 5.0.1]
2. Download and flash a ROM based on KitKat 4.4.4
3. Install Xposed and all the goodies it supports [Amplify, Greenify etc]
Is my plan possible?
Thanks in advance!!

Yes ...
That's not really downgrade, it just install 4.4.4 custom ROM, so your plan should work

So, a downgrade would be returning to stock Sense 4.4.4, right? I am not interested in that.
I just want to flash a custom rom, based on 4.4.4. If that is possible with the steps I plan to follow, then OK

Yes

If I want to return to stock 4.4.4 from Lollipop, do I still need to root the phone? The phone worked perfectly well before the Lollipop update, I really regret updating, I see no benefits whatsoever and lots of problems.

Yes. You either have to root, or gain S-Off and run a 4.4.4 RUU.

Newbie question regarding firmware updates

Hi guys,
So I have the unlocked HTC One M8 Asian variant, im rooted with unlocked bootloader and S-On. CWM Recovery.
I am now running CM11 on 4.4.4 and I want to go and try some Sense 6 based custom ROMS like Viper or InsterCoin.
Do I HAVE TO update my firmware in order to do so? What is exactly the firmware and how can I know what i'm running right now?
Any good tutorial in order to update firmware while S-On or guide to install sense based rom without updating firmware?
THANKS!
Nimi

If a stock Lollipop update was available (maybe in Poland, but I think that is the only place currently), then this might apply to you. It seems that you might be able to root the 5.0 ROM, but you would most definitely lose Bump and the ability to flash a custom recovery or ROM.
Any Lollipop ROM that is being floated around the forums already has a kernel that has been modified and rooted. It does not apply in those cases.
Can anyone confirm that it's working?:good:

[Q] LG G3 Lollipop Root - Help

Hey guys at xda-developers!
So before christmas I recieved an update for my G3 to upgrade to Android L from a rooted KitKat and I want to become rooted again. So can anylne advise me on what to do.
If there is any simple rooting method for LG Android L update.
I want to keep all my data btw.
Thanks. Ask any questions
Im new to the android world and xda so i dont know too much about ANDROID but i know a good amount
Thanks!
You can't root on lollipop, no root available as of yet. If you want root you have to downgrade to kitkat with the flashtool.
Use the LG Flash Tool to downgrade to kitkat (with a 10r build). There are a plethora of guides on how to do this.
Then you root, and install a custom ROM to get back to Lollipop. Cyanogenmod 12 works amazingly well on my D851. It's smoother than the stock ROM. However, you might be able to do the CloudyG3 ROM, which is essentially just what you have now with added features. Assuming that you got the Lollipop update a little while back, your phone sounds compatible. However, if you don't use the QuickCircle Case, I would highly suggest Cyanogenmod 12. I used the case, but made that small sacrifice for this amazing ROM.
Hope I helped!

Need stock lollipop rom without updating bootloader, Please help

Hey guys. I'm looking to upgrade to "LG'S stock lollipop firmware but I don't want to lose my bootloader so I looked around here on xda and there is no modified stock roms that won't upgrade my bootloader for my Bell D852.
My question is how can I modify my stock lollipop image to not update my bootloader?
I've always run stock roms without updating the bootloader by using a custom rom based off as close to stock as possible but I can't find one for the G3 based off stock lollipop., Anyone know where I can find this???
Thanks.

Is there anyway possible to downgrade 6.0.1 back to 5.1.1 with root?

Alright, I am new to XDA but I am not new to hacking/rooting etc. That's just to clarify.
Long story short, I dislike Android marshmallow and I want to return back to my beloved 5.1.1 lollipop, I have the T-Mobile variant (SM-G925T) Updated to 6.0.1 and I rooted via CF-Auto Root and installed a Custom Rom thats 63% Stock. Anyways like I said i dislike this version and I want back 5.1.1 any tips on how or if I even can?
