I am recently studying aboard in Hong Kong. I have a Tmobile M8 on hand, but it does not pick up the LTE/4G frequency here, thus I can only use HSPA+ which is very slow.
I found a guide on XDA showing that it is possible to convert an VZW M8 to Tmobile version. I am wondering if there is any possible solution I can do it reverse?
I just want to get Band 7 on my phone.
My phone is currently running GPE 5.0.1
You can't. Different radio hardware

There have been a lot of questions in the GPE RUU (Graffixsync) thread about LTE/4G - whether it is working for International variants.
I thought it would be helpful if those who have converted can comment if they have got LTE/4G in their respective countries (Outside of US/Canada)
This will help those considering converting to GPE RUU as well as stopping the GPE thread being taken off-topic.
PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT FOR THOSE ON GPE ROMS, ONLY FOR THE RUU CONVERSION. THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT ABOUT THE RUU, ITS PROS AND CONS. JUST WHETHER LTE/4G IS WORKING IN YOUR COUNTRY
Please state Country, Carrier and if 4G/LTE is working..
Mine
UK
Vodafone
Yes
LTE working
Sweden
Telia
and it's working!:good:
Hello guys, I'm from Costa Rica and I'd like to get an HTC One M8 soon, I know that the unlocked version with Sense should work with band 1800, but the GPE which is the one I prefer comes with 700/AWS (not compatible with my network), so my questions are, should I get the unlocked version with Sense and convert it to GPE later on (all the lte bands work after the conversion?)? Or Viceversa. Is there a way to enable all the lte bands on the GPE?
Thank you!
Good job for making this thread. I also asked users in my m7 thread how they dealt with the radio stuff and their data connections and ota's.. You can check out that thread for responses. I know it's a different device but one user in Italy reported using the supplied radio in the ruu and his connection was fine. Could be just his model has the same bands as the US model (not entirely sure)

This is an in-exact science. It should work but do you want to flash on a 'Should do?'
Wait and see if anyone from Costa Rica posts or look up the thread above re the M7
FYI in the UK my carriers bands are 800 and 2600 yet the ruu works fine for me. This indicates it is hardware related. But it is your call....
I know that converting the HTC One (M8) to GPE for Verizon is said to be a no-no, because it doesn't work with the CDMA radio. My question is, I'm getting ready to switch carriers to AT&T, and was wondering, since I don't need CDMA, does this work? Has anybody tried? I'm looking to do this only if I can keep the stock bootloader, so I can receive OTA updates. Also, I'm wondering if this will let me use the correct combination of LTE bands to use LTE data on AT&T.
I recently won a m8 in a contest. And through lots of searching I'm stuck, I live in the UK and my phone is from the US. I want to know if my phone has the right hardware to get lte on bands 3 and 7 as I'm on ee. But I cannot find out anywhere what hardware is inside the device, any suggestions? Thanks.
Check the preferred network (in settings) if you can enable lte connectivity.

LTE Bands
Hi!! a have the HTC OneĀ® Developer Edition (M8) and this supports the followings Bands in LTE: LTE Quad Band (Bands 17/4/2/5).
Check the exact model of your M8, with this tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tritonsoft.cidgetter&hl=es-419
Cid code is needed to find your exact model and get the description of networks supporting.

Any carrier branding (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile) on the outside of the phone or on the OS (splash screen, etc.)? Mosts US M8s are branded, aside from Dev Edition, unlocked, or GPE.
As long as its a GSM M8 (Verizon and Sprint are CDMA/GSM) in theory you should be able to flash a different radio to get the proper band compatibility, even if your model doesn't officially support the needed LTE band (unlocking of bootloader and S-off required).
Hi,
I have found a guide that explane how to unlock different LTE bands into the qualcomm based phone.
I have found info about one plus one, sony xperia and other and HTC One M8 VERIZON.
I'm from Italy and I have two different m8. t-mobile M8 and internation M8. Where is the problem?
I have fully converted my t-mobile m8 but it can connect to LTE frequencies. The Hardware is the same but the international ONE use LTE without problem, the t-mob not. Only HSPA+ and other GSM freq.
I have follow this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55673438&postcount=475
and this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/general/lte-band-7-2600mhz-finally-guide-t2992523.
Obviously I can't put the phone in CDMA mode like in this guide. But the problem is other. When I change the parameters all seems to be writed. But If I click read on QXDM all are returned to original. If I reboot the phone is the same thing.
Anyone know how to solve this problem? I have found on internet that T-mob use only AWS and and 1700/2100mhz. in europe need other frequencies like band 20 etc......I hope that someone can help me!
Hi friend , did you solve problem , I have a same problem?
Hi everyone, I just bought a HTC One M8 from Ebay that is unlocked from T-Mobile and that cost be $169. Do you guys think this was a good deal? All that aside, I want to use that phone on Cricket that basically uses AT&T bands. I see that the lte bands for HTC One M8 only supports 4,17 while AT&T used 2,4,5,17. I know that Oneplus One had the same problem with not having lte bands 2 and 5 but people had it working for AT&T lte. Just wanted to know is there anyway to unlock the bands 2, 5 for AT&T full lte bands? Thank you.
