But don't worry. Here I am (Nishantha Indika) to fix this... Just easy to do... It got me hard to find how to fix. Finnaly here Everything for you...
What you need
Root Access
Terminal Emulater App
persistnew.img http://d-h.st/7VAu
Open terminal emulater app and type
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p26 of=/sdcard/persist.img
Then you will get the img file on sd card. copy and take it on a safe place... Like on External SD card or On PC...
Now copy the downloaded "persistnew.img" file to sd card and on terminal emulater app type
dd if=/sdcard/persistnew.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p26
After complete Reboot... Now check the sensors using "Sensor Box" app. Your sensors are back...
But still Proximity is not working correctly. It always showing as 0 right? On calls you getting black screen right? So let's fix it
Flash MIUI... Or if you on MIUI then allright
On dialpad type "*#*#6484#*#*
Go to proximity option
Cover your proximity by hand
Press calibrate
Now remove your hand from proximity
You will see the value 5 or any
Now press on pass button. And you will see another test thing. Just go back and exit the app.
All done... Enjoy... Now if you need flash any other rom you like... :highfive:

Ok so I guess, when I'll know the partition name I'll ask someone with working sensors on redmi note 2 to backup the partition and I'll restore it on my device.
most google searches say it's 'userdata' partition, is it rgiht ? (seems it's not right ;p )
now i see it's these two files :
/root/misc/sensors/sns.reg
/root/.bt_nv.bin
EDIT : there's no sns.reg file in my system ;/ any ideas ?
This method not working ,no values in the proximity sensor menu.
No luck dude,May be the hardware is dead.

I was using Argentina 2.3.6 and before this rom VanilaLVL CM7.
Rom is working fine but main problem is that sound when calling is very quiet I can't hear that someone talking to me. Any idea how to solve this?

I have not that problem, in my phone it sounds very well. It'll would be good idea to check sound settings or when calling press volume up and check if call volume is high.

Good. Follow XDA Droid Pro Forum for unlocking/Rooting http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2641221
Flashed the ROM, its very nice and smooth, but after flashing this ROM on first boot Airplane mode was not turning off instead when I was trying to disable, it was turning on again automatically then suddenly my phone rebooted and now working fine..
Auto Brightness not working.. Had to adjust it manually...
If ROM Manager is not supported with our Droid Pro then why is it pre-installed in this ROM..??
Will report if find any bug later..
Thank You..

I don't why, but i just put rom manager there. And thanks for your report.
I bricked my phone, and this is the first time that I am not worried bcoz of your all the great help.. RSDLite is in process..
How it bricked.:
I installed this ROM, and then installed Bootstrap, when I tap on Reboot Recovery nothing happened, it just asked for Superuser permission and I allowed it after allowing nothing happened.. So I tapped over Reboot Recovery several times and it rebooted but didn't go into recovery instead I got a bootloop.. Now flashing SBF..
Why it happened..???

hi every body,
some of us don't want to use adoptable storage for some reason .
here in this discussion thread may be we find solution.
guide :-
1- flash this disable_selinux.zip
thanx @bonobo and @cucumber09
details in this [/MENTION] post
For other users "you must have permissive mode" search for it in your device section.
2- flash this version of supersu
Use only this special version
3- install this apps2sd from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apps2sd-partition-sd-card-link-apps-to-t3122919
thanx to @vickybonick
that's it:laugh: ,

Well,
Dev. Of Apps2sd accept my request and released new version 7.3 thanks for him.
Any one tested it??
Hi guys,
Now it's working perfectly.
And second partition is not corrupt.
I will explain as I can later [emoji4]
Now I will try to update my rom first to see what happen. [emoji120] [emoji111]
Everything is OK, except this msg when boot up and I did soft reboot and it's OK now
this is my steps :-
1- I have permissive mode .
2- Enable USB debugging.
3- Install "universal init.d" and make it "ON".
4- Select "use public vold" in setting of apps2sd.
5- disable "Mount namespace separation" in "supersu app", and reboot your device.
6- For me, my second partition is formatted with ext2.
7- install busy box
good luck with all of you:good:
Why I can't select "use public vold"?
If I upgrade to the latest apps2sd, will I have to relink all linked apps?

You can uncrypt your phone but if you.flash a stock rom, the kernel at first boot will automatically encrypt your memory again. There are 2 different encryption, one by code and one with standard image key. At this moment the twrp will automatically uncrypt the system key but you need to manually write the code (if is setted). The tool will uncrypt both method, the flash of stock rom will re-uncrypt with system key but not with code key

Just got my Pixel 2XL the other day and am excited to root and start modding. I have been monitoring this thread just to see what issues people are running into but it looks like not many people are even doing this surprisingly. I mean that's why I bought this Google phone, so I don't have to deal with locked bootloaders that these carriers put in them to discourage rooting. I know this phone is also locked but it's not for the purpose of keeping people from rooting them. I just think that it's so odd that this thread has very little activity.

The device is very expensive, has dual partitions, has gotten a lot of bad press, and not near as Dev friendly as some others. Having said that, there are about 5 custom roms, root, exposed, substratum, and various launcher and active edge mods. So it's not like we're hurting too bad ??

I am faced with the issue of the fingerprint reader not working.
Tried fixing it by running the calibration procedure (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...er-print-after-loss-data-calibration.4132961/) with no success.
If anyone of you has an operational fingerprint reader in their red magic 6 pro and they would like to help me fix mine, please sent me the persists.img of your phone so I can flash it in my own and get the reader operational again.
There is another post that describes the procedure on how to extract the img from your phone from the forum:
Extracting stock Boot, Recovery and Persist images
Talking here about how to extract the stock Boot, Recovery and Persist images, needed in case of e.g. bootloop upon flashing Magisk or TWRP, to reflash the stock image(s). Also, boot image is needed for patching from Magisk Manager (and flashing...

You need your persist.img that shipped with phone. Someone elses will NOT. You have lost FP forever.

I've read for another phone that they were able to restore the functionality with the persist of another phone. I understand that the sensors are calibrated per device but it seems that the issue is more related to the security of the root rather than persist being actually corrupted.
Are you aware if I flash stock rom again if there is possibility for FP to work again?
why don't you extract it from the payload in the original ROM?

If I am not mistaken, this is a per device partition and is not included in any ROM. As I understand it, persist.img contains all the sensors calibration data for the phone.
This is why I request from someone who has the same phone to extract and share so I can have a chance to save the FP functionality in my phone.

Understood. Yes, it's not a ROM file. I may switch to this device in the next day or two. Don't mind giving you a copy of mine if you haven't got it by then..

If you solve your problem please share with us.
You can directly use the persist image recovery of red Magic 5 mobile phone. The effect is the same. I have tested it
Hey guys!
I also lost the "persist" and with it almost all my sensors...Someone please share with me. I know it's not calibrated for my phone, but it can only be better :/ I've read all the RM6 forums that google puts out, but I can't find a solution :/
Thank you very much!

Now that the entire kernel source is released, is anyone working on building a custom recovery and rom for this device? I was looking at building orange fox recovery for it but I couldn't find how to make it with android 13 decryption support.

You build, I'll try.. I'm decrypted with r/w permissions already. Used dfe neo and RO2RW by leegar, termux method and flashed super.img with fastboot.. Seeing as how we don't have recovery yet

Ohh ok. This phone is a little different from my last one op9p..recovery was inside ramdisk..so usually I would boot twrp.img and flash recovery to ramdisk..
I tried fastboot boot twrp.img..it switched to slot b..so I had to set active back to slot a..my mistake
I'll try your method and report back. Thanks!

It's reading internal storage( decrypted ofc).. Little laggy but usable.. Do you need logs or anything? I'll mess with it a little bit later today.

Hello. Installed your TWRP, but the internal memory is not displayed and there is no active OTG. Did you do something wrong ?

This isn't my twrp.. I'm already decrypted, so I just test it. I could read internal storage on mine. Your probably still encrypted, so it wouldn't work for you.

I realized that you are testing, and I just have no one to turn to for help but you. How can I decrypt it? I just got the device today.

Extract the file to a directory then put your phone in bootloader, connect your phone then go to the directory you extract and click on 8pro****.bat (*** for some chinese character). Your phone will then boot after it is done. However this is not a free rom you can run it for 30 minutes and you will have hard time to get back to stock rom since this rom modify the stock rom partitions.

I going to buy it from the maker he going do some changing to English with full support
Have someone tried that miui 14 rom? Are there any screenshots or something about what happens after 30 minutes? Might be possible to just remove that restrictions, but unless there's an easy way to revert back to stock (EDL or something), don't think it makes sense to flash it. Better wait for someone to build a proper CAF/CLO ROM (i.e. Paranoid Android)

It's MIUI, there's nothing that could fix that
That's not the point tho. Gonna assume no one yet tried flashing it (so the potential drawbacks not including 30 minutes lifetime are unknown. Should be always possible to remove that from ROM anyway). And we still don't have any way to unbrick, ZTE doesn't want to give us the flash tool for bs reasons.
