Hi, I'm hoping someone here might have some suggestions on what to try with my following issue. I need to unlock my i747. I've gotten an unlock code from AT&T, but it flat out does not work. I've called AT&T support 8 times, and they have been no help. they say they are opening a tech support ticket to troubleshoot the issue, but each time they just come back with the same unlock code that fails to work. I'm on stock 4.2.2, it's a phone given to me that's never been rooted or modded in any way.. Can't find any reason why it would fail to unlock. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
What bootloader is on your phone? If you have an older bootloader, you may be able to downgrade the phone to 4.1.1 and unlock it using the free method.
Unfortunately, the bootloader is up to date and so I can't roll back. My understanding is that would certainly brick the device if you're not on the old bootloader. Can't understand why a legitimate unlock code would fail to work, anyone seen that before?
Your original post says you're on stock 4.2.2. Can't rollback once you have the 4.3 bootloader.
aha, that's a typo. sorry, meant 4.4.2.
So you're getting the prompt to enter the code and, after entering the code, it is still locked?
I enter the code and it says the unlock failed. then re-prompts. I reboot the phone and continue to get the prompt, and the phone remains locked.

Are you entering the code with a non-AT&T sim in the phone?
yes, I am testing with a T-Mobile sim card. that's what triggers the unlock prompt. thanks!
Even though you are getting the prompt to enter the code, try this:
a. Go to the Dial pad and dial *#197328640#
b. Please click on number [1] UMTS > [1] Debugging screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] NETWORK LOCK
c. You will see 3 options
d. Please click on number [1] Perso Sha256 INFO, the screen will change slightly
e. Please hit the MENU button then when the menu pops up please carefully hit BACK to return to the previous screen
f. Next Please click on number [2] Perso Sha256 ON, the screen will change again to a one line message
g. Restart the phone on the screen by holding the power button and click RESTART
h. When the phone prompts for the unlock code simply enter the unlock code provided to you
i. Your phone is now permanently unlocked!
Thank you audit13! That did the trick! I appreciate your detailed response and instructions. I don't understand exactly what we did there, but whatever it was ,it worked!

Ok, so I'm sure someone will say this has been answered 100 times but I can't find it in the forums.
I have a locked T-Mobile Wing. I tried entering unlock codes but I guess I entered wrong codes enough that it's really locked. It boots to a screen asking for the Password to unlock (only shows a numpad on screen) and Active Sync won't connect to it (it says I have to unlock the device before it connects).
Hence, I'm not able to run the ROM loader tools which require me to install a CAB file on the device first.
Anyone have a solution to this?

you could just call tmobile and tell them what happened?
I'm sure they might have a way to unlock it.

Yeah.... I bought the phone on eBay. T-Mo says I need to be the original customer in order for them to provide me an unlock code.
Hi i recently relocked my bootloader buti dont know how to check if its actually relocked so can someone tell me
Thanks:laugh:
1) Press and open Dialer panel, input *#*#7378423#*#* entering the engineering mode.
2) Enter "Service Info", then "Configuration"
3) Check the last line "Rooting status"
If it shows:
Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes/ Then your phone is not unlocked yet.
Bootloader unlocked: Yes/ Then your phone is unlocked already.
4) This might not be working on some particular models and I have no idea why...As some device shows it's not unlocked but infact it's unlocked already.
Anyway, you may use the above as a reference.
I upgraded to MM v20c and had a pattern unlock set - since then I can no longer unlock. I even went to Android Device Manager and set a code lock - but still can't unlock. I have some important info on the device and do not want to reset the system. Is there any way to do it?
Just to add - I do have access to my gmail, so if there is a way to reset the lock screen do let me know.
Using ADM I can again "lock" the device but dont get a prompt to enter the code. I can also make my phone call another number - but there seems np way to unlock it. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: There is no option to enter the code from ADM anywhere.
EDIT 2: I can use adb

So when you go to settings/about phone/software info/ and press mulitple time on Build number the developer options don't appear?
In the developer options you will find the OEM unlock setting

10 times I believe, then you have to unlock your boot loader, by powering off the device, hold and press both vol buttons and connect to the pc, then you will get prompt, yopu will have to read it as i cant remember what they are, but you need to wipe your device while doing this - it will facorty reset.
Lol no, the oem unlock button is missing in developer options
I had the same issue on mine A505F model while trying to install custom rom.
The thing I noticed OEM unlock wont popup unless your device is registered.
Steps I took:
1. Removed my SIM Card
2. Reset my phone
3. go through first time setup process
4. Connect WiFi
6. Go to settings and enable Developer options
5. Go to settings > software update > Download and install. (A toast notification will show 'Device Registered')
7. Wait a few seconds and check if you got OEM unlock option in dev options.
P.s: a restart might help if you still didnt get it after going through those steps
I hope this helps
Not working

How do u do the date changing procedure?
You have to change the date to a month ago and check for updates
Then restart your phone and change the date back and again check for updates.
Be sure to remove your SIM card.

Update it to latest firmware
Dont work
It's not the communitys fault the a505u and a505u1 hasn't received root yet
Everyone else is just going for the unlocked versions so the devs are on those...we had only one dev but his phone completely bricked and has no way of reviving it.
I have been trying to root my S22 but continually run into the problem of OEM Unlocking. Everyone says just about the first thing to do is to select OEM Unlocking on the Developers Options but it isn't there. I even following one set of directions to try to make it show up but it didn't work either. I can't seem to get to the rooting without the OEM Unlocking. Anyone have any ideas? It doesn't have to do when I purchased the device which is what one person suggested but didn't help.

If this is a Snapdragon device, unlocking the bootloader most likely isn't possible.
Try this;
Remove the SIM
Factory reset
Skip through the setup wizard, DO NOT connect to WiFi or insert the SIM
After initial setup finishes, enable developer options
Manually set time at least 1 week ahead from now
Wait a few minutes
Check to see if OEM Unlocking is available

Your are right. Snapdragon won't let you unlock bootloader. Tried your steps and of course it didn't work.
