[Q] how to check if bootloaders locked - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi i recently relocked my bootloader buti dont know how to check if its actually relocked so can someone tell me
Thanks:laugh:

1) Press and open Dialer panel, input *#*#7378423#*#* entering the engineering mode.
2) Enter "Service Info", then "Configuration"
3) Check the last line "Rooting status"
If it shows:
Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes/ Then your phone is not unlocked yet.
Bootloader unlocked: Yes/ Then your phone is unlocked already.
4) This might not be working on some particular models and I have no idea why...As some device shows it's not unlocked but infact it's unlocked already.
Anyway, you may use the above as a reference.

[Q] How to check if the bootloader is locked or unlocked?

Hello Frnds,
I need to submit my handset for housing crack issue to the SE service center.. But recently I had flashed it with the Stock ROM prepared with the help of SEUS and Flashtool. So can anyone tell me how to check my Bootloader has been unlocked or it is still locked? Because the method to flash the Stock ROM I used says that it wont unlock the bootloader.. So can somebody please tell me how can I check it? If it is unlocked then the SEUS or PC Companion will not detect it, right? Thanks..

If you unlock your bootlaoder, you will loose the DRM aplications like TrackID. So start the TrackID app and if it works, your bootloader is still locked, if it doesn't and you get some error, then it's unlocked.
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* . Then go to -> "Service Info" -> "Configuration". If there is:
Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes << this means that your Bootloader is Locked
Bootloader Unlocked - Yes << this means that your bootloader is unlocked
Thanks all.. I checked.. It is not unlocked..
and if it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No", I guess I have to the "pay" route to get it unlocked?

That means you have Simlock. You have to pay for simlock code for unlock and then unlock the bootloader

Thanks for the quick response. It is already SIM unlocked, so I guess the next step is paying for bootloader unlock?

Wrong. SIM/network lock and bootloader are completely separate.
It will always say "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" even if your bootloader is unlocked. Yes or No just refers to if it can be unlocked.
I did it on my x10i and the text bootloader isnt there anywhere. so what now?

I must confirm this. I've just unlocked bootloader on SE xperia mini pro, and before unlocking it was saying "Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes " and now after unlock it says "Bootloader Unlocked - Yes"

That's totally wrong. If it says no, the only way to unlock it is paid and if it says yes, then it allows you to unlock it yourself with the test point or the official SE unlock bootloader feature using your IMEI.

Help!!! I can't enter to the recovery mode to install a custom ROM

Hay
I have a Sony Xperia M Single SIM and I download a cyanogen custom ROM. The problem is I can't enter to the bootloader or the recovery mode to install the ROM. I did this process:
I shut-down the phone, then i get pressing and holding the power button until the phone get on, and i pressed quikcly the button volum up too. And the phone doesn't response, it take me to the "Enter your pin" normal mode.
One more thing:
the phone is blocked on Orange here in Spain, and i searched if does exist any method to unlock the bootloader or something like that, and I found in the sony website some procedures to know if your phone can get unlocked, and i entered the following number *#*#7378423#*#*, then to: Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. And the Bootloader unlock says No!!!!
If any one can help me to install a custom ROM I'll appreciate that. I have no idea how I can do it, specially on Sony's phones, on Samsung's phone I didn't had any problem.
I'm sorry for my English is very bad
Your bootloader is locked (and it's not unlockable), so, no way of using custom ROMs in your phone ate the moment...

So why it is Locked. The is a several phones has it unlocked. Why the mine ???
Can you explain me why is locked and no unlocked?
You should unlock it manually check the forums to unlock the bootloader
Just to make clear, Xperia devices has two types of lock: SIM Lock and Bootloader Lock. The SIM Lock prevent you from using SIM cards from other carriers, and you can remove your SIM lock in any device by paying to your carrier or to a service center (in some countries the carrier removes the SIM lock for free in some cases).
Then comes the bootloader lock. With a locked bootloader, you can't boot in recovery mode because there isn't a recovery mode in stock ROM (trying to do so will just start the phone normally). You also can't flash custom recoveries or kernels (needed to use custom ROMs) with a locked bootloader. All Xperia devices comes with the bootloader locked from factory, but in most of them they're unlockable...
If you bought your Xperia device directly from a retail store, your bootloader is certainly unlockable and you can proceed with the method you tried (go to Sony website, input your IMEI, get your unlock code, etc.). If you bought your Xperia from a carrier (Orange, in your case) then your bootloader is very likely to be not unlockable, and that's your case, your bootloader isn't unlockable, as you already checked by going into Service Menu with *#*#7378423#*#*. If your bootloader isn't unlockable, you are out of luck, you can't do anything, there isn't any other method...
And further info if you get an unlockable Xperia device in future: by unlocking your bootloader, your warranty is void and your DRM keys get wiped, because of that, some proprietary Sony apps won't work anymore (Mobile BRAVIA Engine, TrackID, "Download Music Info", PlayStation Certified features, etc). So, if your bootloader is unlockable, you should to a TA backup before unlocking it, so, in future, if you want, you can relock your bootloader and get your DRM keys back, so the proprietary Sony apps works again...
Also, removing your SIM lock doesn't unlock your bootloader as well as unlocking your bootloader doesn't remove your SIM lock. They're two different things, completely independent of each other...

Read the OP, its bootloader can't be unlocked

[Q] How can I check the bootloader status?

I followed the guides here, but there was no indication that the bootloader was successfully unlocked. I flashed RomAur 1.2 after installing the dual recovery, but before trying to unlock the bootloader. It flashed fine, but there were some problems here and there. I then followed the guide to unlock the bootloader, reflashed the rom, and everything seems to be OK, but because of this whole mess, I'm not sure I really unlocked the bootloader. How can I check the bootloader status?
open dialer app then type *#*#service#*#* or should I say *#*#7378423#*#*
Then navigate to Service info->Configuration
check rooting status.
If it says bootloader unlock allowed: Yes = locked bootloader
If it says bootloader unlocked: Yes = unlocked bootloader

[Q] unlocking the bootloader on equipment that the "service info" status is "no"

[Q] unlocking the bootloader on equipment that the "service info" status is "no"
Good morning!
There is already some method / tool, for unlocking the bootloader on equipment that the "service info" status is "no" which allows !
I wanted to finally leave the coustom roms and make real root, so I can install a kitkat rom ...
Best wishes!
"First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked."
I don't think there is any method exist which can allows us( AT&T ion Holder) to unlock bootloader as in service menu its mentioned as "NO".
Hence For Kitkat you have to wait..
If you have any solution ,plz share the link....

I have a question about relocking the bootloader..

I have seen some videos and tutorials about unlocking/relocking the bootloader in Xiaomi phones, but I have a question, is there any way to find out that the device was unlocked after relocking it?
Any fastboot command to show the status of RElocking?
And does the phone show Locked or Relocked in settings > Dev options?
Thanks in advance
In Developer Options there is a Tab named "MI Unlock Status " You can see if the device BL is locked or Unlocked.

This is not the question actually, if I unlock the bootloader then lock it back, will it show locked or RELOCKED (Like Huawei phones)?
