[Q] US compatibility? - Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Hello all. I am wondering about US compatibility for the Xiaomi Redmi 1s. Is there anything you have to do to get it to pick up US radios? I'm asking in reference to my new Redmi 2. There's no forum for it so I thought it may be similar to the 1s in this regard. The status bar signal indicator shows an X over the bars. Weather there's a SIM in it or not. So I wouldn't even be able to make emergency calls. Trying to use it on AT&T here in the US. Any ideas? And yes, I've got the proper APN settings.

There is Forum on MiUi forums (Actually garbage with lots of useless threads)
But i doubt your thread will be seen by someone ! Lots of spam in there

Afaik, 1S isn't compatible with US cellular frequency.
But, according to GSM Arena, Redmi 2 should've compatible with AT&T frequency. Maybe you can ask on Redmi 2 forum at MIUI English Forum.

LTE+ support to make 3CA work on Bands 3+5+40??

MI has done an awesome job in bringing a phone without USB-C to not use QC v4.0, also its mind-blowing X12 modem supporting LTE speeds of 600Mbps only if 3CA is enabled.
In India due to Jio's entry, airtel also has raced against them. Atleast in major cities, LTE+ is already enabled but Indians hardly have phones that support such lovely speeds! In RN4 (mido) people reported unlocking bands through QXDM never worked!
So., How to enable LTE+ in RN5Pro supporting 3CA and RN5 supporting 2CA..?
Well I can't speak for the Redmi series but my Mi 5 had shown me 4G+ (2x carrier aggregation) sometimes when I was traveling abroad, but since the RN4 never really supported CA there is a chance that it'll be spared for the higher end models again. It remains to be seen if Xiaomi activates it. But you surely can't activate it by yourself.
I think OEMs add some sh*t un used C.A band combinations and advertise as 4g+. Just want to know what network C.A combination Xiaomi added to this Redmi note 5 pro to market it as 4G+?. I always gets response from some moto idoits- "2018 randi nude has no C.A support". I need something to support this. ? Please anyone give me RFNV information of what bands C.A combinations this device supports....so users can edit that for possible network combinations in their country. Technically everything inside is excellent for value, but missing C.A in 2018 annoys much. Tmrw I will try to buy one in flash sale. OEMs market as 4g+ just by adding some unusable combinations, so this RFNV information helps me. If it supports any odd bands then I can edit to combination I need. If it's C.A is antenna restricted block then I can't do any edit workaround. Help me think on this before buying, still I don't care of C.A benfits bcz here in India it's total congestion bcz of ultra cheap plans..so technically it makes no difference , just bcz its 2018 buy I do care a little.. I see nothing on this RN5pro C.A band related 4g+ support....any rooted user plz check it's RFNV information.

For redmi note 5 pro diagnostics mode- try
I've tried all this steps in my Redmi Note 4 and it simply doesn't work. Once RFNV is modified phone starts showing LTE+ but does not latch to SC secondary band at all. Highlighted error is what I get in diagnostic log (as attached) and I'm pretty sure even in Note5Pro it'll be the same. Hence don't buy Redmi Mid range you are looking to escape carrier congestion.

lte+/4g+ carrier aggregation support?????

Does anyone getting CA/LTE+ support on their RN 5 pro. Its mentioned on their website that device supports CA/4G+, but m not getting the CA support in the area where I used to get it on LeMax 2.
Same problem here with the redmi 5 plus.
According to miui forums, carrier aggregation with bands 3+7 doesn't work with xiaomi phones.
This seems to be a bug that has been going on for years with xiaomi phones, and xiaomi doesn't seem to be giving any feedback on this issue.
If you can get some feedback from xiaomi, please report back here. Thanks.

I thought the CA is volte support. Do you have global version and what country are you in?
CA (aggregation of multiple bands) and volte (voice over lte = the connection won't switch to 3g during a call, but remain in 4g) are two different things. Volte works with as well as without CA.

How can I find out with certainty that LTE is covered

In my location considering the li ited amount amount of 4G Bands the Mi Max 3 handles? I don't mind using ATT or T-Mobile but I am less then confident relying on their sale person's answers.
Thanks!

I use Cricket which is part of AT&T...so for 3G and LTE, both signals is quite spot on. I just got mly Mix Max 3 yesterday and i switch my sim from another Xiaomi device to give you an idea that Xiaomi Phones can handle that company, but you can go to Tmobile and have them test it out.

Global, but have tried Chinese Rom.. there is no difference.
Celmapper uses data collected by volunteers using the cellmapper apps for Android and IOS. It will show you LTE and GSM bands used in areas where volunteers have collected data. https://www.cellmapper.net/Index

I have exactly the same question:
According to official Mi Max 3 website:
LTE band support: B1, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B20
I just bought a Global version model: M1804E4A:
The user guide indicates band support: 1/3/7/8/20/34/38/40 (Bands 4 & 5 are missing !!??)
WIthout Bands 4 & 5 - I'm guessing I can't get onto AT&T and TMobile ?
ALso is there a code dialler to check what LTE band is being support by model: M1804E4A?
For folks using mi max 3 in USA successfully - may I know what is your model number?
Thanks !!

Some apps falsely display that CA is running
Sent from my whyred using XDA Labs
Sounds like Xiaomi Note Pro 5 maybe support only Contiguous CA so this could cause you don't see 4G+ in your country. We can verify this from modem log. I have instruction here https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g-supported-ca-combinations-from-your-android-phone/ to get modem log out (scroll down to Xiaomi section).
Please send log to https://cacombos.com/contribute so then i can verify carrier aggregation support. In my page have many devices CA supports listed.

Need pro xda help

Hello it's turbo again.
In my area we continue to lose band 4 in the past 6 months ....to now my mi max 3 will often not let me speak on a call. ... When I answer or dial.
.. I'm at wits end I bought a Moto g7. To make calls do to looking for work. But I don't like it but I cant be missing calls.... To get the mimax3 back I can only guess maybe more bands will save my mi max3.
Can anybody unlock more bands for me. If I pay shipping and for your time and knowledge.
Come on some one has to know how to add bands to the mi max 3
Please help
Hi,
I think the Telecom band is associated with hardware, not software.
For example, you can check post on forums the Redmi K20 Pro.

Good luck.
