Hi there,
So recently I have successfully rooted my HTC One M8. However, I only could seem to get Android Revolution working properly on my device. All other ROMS like Cyan, Liquid Smooth didn't read my sim card for whatever reason. So far, Android Revolution is the only one working for me at the moment. I have cell service, I can text, call, and use WiFi just fine. However I'm just not really found of the software. I really just want to get back to a FRESH new start, un-rooted, everything like it was just out of the box. HOWEVER, I never did manage to make a backup in TWP or whatever it's called. So I'm really panicking here... I just want to get my phone back but I am just lost. I can't figure it out.
details:
CWS__001
MAIN: 3.42.502.1
I can't seem to find a stock rom for that "main" number there. =(
Not looked very hard, the RUU is on HTCs website!
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...40.34.C35006.02_F_release_407726_signed_2.exe
Relock your bootloader, run the above file and connect your phone when prompted and it'll put you back to 100% stock as if you only just got the phone

Hello,
I own a HTC One V that is t-mobile(germany)-branded.
I s-off'ed it using the official HTC procedure and then rooted it using this guide (theandroidsoul.com/root-one-v).
Ever since then, I am having connection problems, as in, no connection unless I reboot it. This especially occurs while talking on the phone,
but also at random. I then attempted to apply the RUU_PRIMO_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_2.08.401.2_Radio_20.72.30.0833U_3831.17.00.18_M_release_263376_signed.exe following tutorials
-> first, locking the bootloader, then flash the recovery, then apply the RUU - flashing the recovery worked, however, the RUU failed because the CID does not match. Changing to SuperCID does not seem to be possible at the moment.
Plus, ever since I flashed the RUU recovery, I can't change sounds anymore, so whenever I try to change alarms/ringtones/notification sounds, the personalizer oder settings application crashes.
In order to check if the connection issue is related to the rooting process (and if it isn't, to get it replaced by t-mobile) I need to revert to the stock t-mobile ROM, however, I can't find any.
Is there any other way to solve this dilemma or can you help me?

Now just hold on a sec. You can't S-Off at the moment, as far as I know, and there is no HTC software for it. You just unlocked the bootloader, to give yourself some priviledges, but that is not S-Off, so you cannot change the CID of the phone (or debrand it).
Stock ROM for T-Mobile is not available at the moment (or at least for the public) Ask Football for it, but it will cost some EUR for you.
If the RUU sees anything wrong with the phone (including CID) it won't even start flashing the device, so it cannot do any harm for you. But since you unlocked BL I suggest to install custom firmware to see if anything is wrong with the hardware. Just be sure to do a nandroid backup before, so you can revert to the "stock" if possible.
EDIT: sorry wrong place
Hey guys,
I have searched my ass off to find a solution and i just can't seem to find one.
I have spent more then 8 hours in the past couple of days on it and it is just not working.
My htc one m7 has a cid with tmob101 and I don't even have tmobile as a provider.
The *****es branded it after i inserted the my simcard for 1 day till my new contract whent live.
So what is the situation.
As said i have an HTC One M7 black.
It runs android 4.3.3 and has HBOOT 1.55
it has a cid tmob101 as said above
I also unlocked the phone through htc dev.
I have the single latest version of twrp recovery cause the latest doenst let me connect with adb.
Just not showing anywhere.
So I am running version 2.6.3.3
Besides that i'm still running the stock software (no custom rom or anything).
just the out of the box software.
What have o tried:
well everything i can think of.
1. i tried revone although i knew it would not work. (a man can dream right )
2. tried rumrunners through a live cd of ubuntu 12.04
rumrunners at first didn't want to work at all but now when i run it it gets to the point of "Pouring 8 ..........." and then says plays wait 30 seconds and but the phone , pray and try again.
3. then i tried firewater but that one said right from the start that no amount of hacking would do any good.
i changed permissions, ive tried doing everything through windows and linux alike but it just won't work.
Can someone help?
Please let me know what information you might need or want for you to help me.
I just want to get back to international version.
hope you guys can help
Ok so I'm exhausted at this point because I can't find a fix anywhere, and am fairly certain the issue I've been having is due to my flashing a custom ROM with an incompatible Firmware or something of the sort.
The basics are I have an HTC One M7 from Verizon that was on JB when I first purchased it. I HATED Blinkfeed, but also a lot of the sense things. I had previously rooted and put a custom rom on my HTC Incredible and had a totally amazing experience.
So I ran with the M7 and custom rom for over 6 months without issue. Finally I found out that dev's had found the exploit to get rooted users up to date with the new 4.4.2 KitKat. So I read up on the flashing instructions from a couple of different sources, researched the Developers I was interested in Rom's from, and eventually flashed a Venom Rom. Well immediately my freshly wiped clean rooted, s-off phone, now running
3.1.605.1, HBoot 1.56, and supercid started having troubles. I would wipe/flash/boot run on the ROM for a few days, it would crash, I would wipe/flash STOCK/boot let that sit for a while, then wipe/flash another ROM/ boot etc.etc.
So now to the issue. I cannot get audio out of anywhere else on the phone besides just holding it up against my head. No speaker phone functionality, No headset, No ringtones, No Notification sounds, No touch sounds of any kind, ZIP, NADA. No matter what I flash STOCK/Custom ROM/XXYYzz same issue no sounds. I can place calls and get calls fine, but only if I am actually holding my phone to feel it vibrate. If I'm in a call people can hear me just fine as long as I am holding the phone to my ear and talking. If I try plugging in my headset suddenly they can't hear me, nor I them. If I try to put the phone on speaker, same thing occurs, it's almost as if we are both on mute. Then there is the strange and unusual issue of me not being able to get a single sound out of the phone. No matter what I do I can't get it to make a peep.
For days I have been trying to find a fix for this issue, to no avail. So I turn to the community and hopefully you all can be of some help!
Specs are below. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried doing an ruu to conpleet stock to see if it still happens, or are you just flashing stock roms? If you do an ruu and the sound still dosent work, its more than likley a hardware issue.

Yes I have tried both the ODEXED and DEODEXED versions for my version/system.
It's crazy that this problem hasn't been encountered before, and/or been discussed in the search terms I have been using.
At this point I am running completely stock with the exception of being rooted and S-Off with an unlocked bootloader. If I can't find a way to wipe & restore the entire phone contents from fastboot/bootloader/ADB shell commands, I am just going to give up and reset, lock, and S-On so I can bring the phone to Verizon to get another.
This is just the last of many problems I have had with this phone since I got it. My husband has the exact same phone, and hasn't had any of the problems I've had.
I wouldn't say I am a n00b with adb and fastboot, flashing recoveries & ROM's, but I am not a coder, and really can only operate the basics without a coder's help.
Odexed and deodexed refer to roms, not ruu's. You need to do an ruu thru hboot using fastboot commands.

My apologies, I have flashed and done so much in fastboot over the last few days my head is spinning.
I downloaded a 2.10.605.1 RUU Decrypted file, went into fastboot and downgraded my system. Hoping that the entirely different operating system would get the speakers working. NOPE
At this point I'm exhausted, tomorrow I plan on finding the thread that has the steps to get everything locked and back to stock and use the warranty for this POS. I miss my Incredible
Thank you so much for you help though, I appreciate someone responding.
Well if you did the ruu, all you need to do is take the kk ota, then use fastboot commands to lock the bootloader and then go s-on.

That's my plan I'm downloading the needed file to remove the tampered/relocked warning before going s-on. What makes me sad is everything was fine with my phone (unlocked and all) until I broke down and decided to update to KitKat.
Thank you for being responsive to me. The first few days I was feeling very sad that no one had given any kind of response to my issue. You also were the only person who responded to another cry for help by me a few weeks back when this all started. So thank you again for being such a valuable member of this community, even when you have to repeat yourself, I'm sure, many times to those of us who are just starting to get the hand of all this information/terminology/etc. :good::good:
Hey Guys,
Before I decided to do this post I looked around A LOT, for roughly over 2 weeks in order to get my HTC back to stock firmware. I'll try to break it down as much as possible without having too much writing on the screen.
The original issue:
Gave my wife the HTC m8 because she fell in love with the phone. The phone is unlocked however its the unlocked version from Vodaphone. When we inserted her sim card, she could do everything except send receive mms and browse internet because Voda APN settings were locked down and were overwriting her Lebara APN settings. I tried many methods to get it to work without rooting and it still would not work. Eventually looking around, I found that I had to root the phone, install some applications to remove the locked APN.
The issue aftewards.
I after soo many attempts finally rooted the phone, only to find out that every method to remove APN did not end up working. To some miracle we reinserted the APN settings for lebara again and it started working. HOWEVER, this time around she could not send or receive any attachment from any application(some examples, Whatsapp, Viber, Mail).
Troubleshooted and nothing worked. My wife became over it and gave the phone back to me. I wanted to bring it back to stock firmware and do update to latest firmware.
Searching for the stock APN for HTC VODAP021 is a nightmare. Hardly anywhere to be seen. Eventually after many attempts at bringing this thing back to life, it corrupted the original back up file I had of the stock firmware and whenever I would revert to that backup, 1 issue after the other made the phone useless and the back up useless.
Eventually found a thread on XDA with a guy who had a VODAP021 with MID: 0PB1100 which fits the description of the get var information i got from the phone. I finally got a working rom, only to find that the rom is a telstra one and not the original vodaphone one. This didnt affect the phone in anyway except for the fact that I was stuck on AOS4.4.4 and that OTA would download but not install at all.
What Im looking for.
I just want to get this phone back to its original stock firmware so that I can at least get the OTA and use it again per normal.
Phone Info:
MID: 0P6B11000
CID: VODAP021
Baseband: 1.26.21331147A1.16G
Bootloader: 3.19.0.000 S-ON
Any help is really most appreciated, and once the issue is resolved, maybe the article will help many others who want to revert to stock with VODAP021.
My phone has the same CID number, when I wanted to upgrade to lollipop (when you have S-ON you can only upgrade firmware through OTA) all I did was flash clockworkmod recovery then restore the nandroid backup from [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376] for CID: VODAP021 (you can find it under stock nandroid backups, all other CID), there should only be one, then flash the stock recovery for 1.12.710.17. When you boot back up, your phone will be stock, unrooted and will be able to receive OTA`s.
Just be warned, if you are on a higher software version than 1.12.710.17, then you`re WiFI will not work due to firmware mismatching but you can still download the OTA through USB internet pass through and once updated, it will work again, hope this helps.

I followed that method before as well. however in CWM when i got to restore and find the location of that file, it finds the restore but fails to restore everytime. I'll back my stuff up and try again. Maybe I missed a step, because I went back to that thread many times and downloaded that file twice thinking maybe first time something went wrong and it wouldn't restore.
If your wife loves the phone, let me suggest you S-off and switch to WWE. That should put an end to the fishiness in the carrier supplied firmware, and since the device was otherwise working well with your desired carrier, would completely resolve the problem.
It is not uncommon for carriers to muck with the default install to make what you are doing a PITA...
Does it start restoring then fail? you have to turn off md5 check and unzip the file before copying it onto your sd. If not, I`ve had corrupted downloads before, you can try downloading the backup again and attempting the restore again.

Hey man, sorry for such a belated post. I finally got around to doing it all again. and so far OTA has worked to update to 4.4.2 but nothing for 5.0.1. has there been an OTA available for 5.0.1 for AUS Voda? and funny thing is, after OTA the wifi stopped working.. Before OTA wifi worked fine. weird
My Phone mic is not working, so people can't hear me on the other end. This has happened on many M8s. I have a HTC One M-8 with Sense. I want to get it back to stock in order to send the phone back to HTC because it is still under warranty.
After all of these years of tinkering and getting through my problems, I really hit a major snag. I had Insert Koin as a custom Rom, but went back to stock by flashing RUU. I had the bootloader showing Re-locked, so I am trying to root my phone again to fix that. I currently have S-On.
Can't install SU Binaries through TWRP
I loaded SU, but when I open it up after reboot it says that no binaries are installed. I really need to find out what steps I need to take from here to indicate my phone shows "locked" and have the factory stock installed. Currently my bootloader is unlocked. Can anybody help? I want to return to HTC because it is still under warranty. I have till May, but I really love this phone and want to ship it out and have it fixed as soon as possible.
Thank you!
