So, I just moved from an "old" G Watch to a SW3 and Smart Lock used to work fine, but now it doesn't work at all. I have a LG G4 with LP and SW3 with current software version. Any ideas?
Few checks tot do imo :
Did you add the sw3 as trusted device?
Did you remove the lg from trusted devices?
Its working fine on Sony z1 andere current Nexus 5x
Search for "Trust Agents" in settings on the phone. "Smart Lock (Google)" sometimes has to be activated.
I have a G4 on MM and the SW3. Smart Lock is enabled in the trust agent setting. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. It's the same with location based smart locking aswell as location based en/disabling of wifi. The G4 should stay unlocked while I'm at home and still I quite often have to enter the PIN to unlock it. Annoying.
Since I have that behaviour with both smartlock options the G4 seems to be the problem, not the SW3.
what i can think off based on that, that some energy savings settings are turning some wifi/bluetooth off after some time. That way it would ofcourse not be able to tell the smart unlock should be active.
location based smart unlock is weird by the way. google has created predified 'cells' all over the world, as soon as it thinks you are outside you 'home cell' ,even if you don't., it would stop smart unlock. unpredictable at least. Bluetooth device unlock has been much more consistent as long bluetooth is enabled on the phone/BT device.
Hi, I'm trying to get smart lock to automatically unlock my mediapad m2 8.0 (at home or when connected to my pebble). I've added a pin code and Smart Lock is activated as a trusted agent, but I don't get any options concerning smart lock under the security options. I was able to add my pebble watch as a trusted device through a notification when connecting it. I was also able to add my home address though some notification. So I know smart lock and it's options are there somewhere, but can't seem to find them and they don't seem too have any effect. I still have to unlock every time I activate my media pad. Has anyone gotten smart lock to work and if yes how?
Thanks for your help.
Hello,
how is it with the smart lock? is it only partially integrated? I cant find all the smart features, as don't lock when on location, or when device nearby. Or is it so good hidden?
Dear,
As we know the Z line has inserted an annoying need for screen shifting to almost everything. In the school line Z2 put an option called "ignore security lock" which allows you not to have to unlock the screen to use the voice functions. This lock in line Z appears even if you have Smart lock, registered all types of release: Trusted Places, devices trusted ... that is: a hell. Do you know any way to end this need for constant unlocking ??? I thank you!
I can't get Smart Unlock - Trusted Devices to work on my new GS9.
I have my lock screen set to: PIN, Fingerprints
I have my car stereo added to Trusted devices
In Secure Lock Settings it's set to: Lock the phone 30 seconds after the screen turns off automatically, except when kept unlocked by Smart Lock.
I've attached a couple of screenshots of unlocking it when connected to my car stereo, I don't understand why the first capture says "Phone unlocked by Smart Lock" but when I tap that it tells me to use PIN or Fingerprint.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Anyone have a suggestion to fix?
i have this issue with my Fitbit, my Fitbit is on my wrist at all times but when it comes to unlock the phone i need my PIN or biometrics, when i look in the trusted devices it indicates 'not connected' so i just assume the connection drops when i walk away from my phone and does not regain this connection every time i move near it again.
No idea why, but Smart Lock has all of a sudden started working as expected.
Could I get some more feedback about smart lock feature on S9 ?
I am on the fence for a purchase and would be very interested to use my Xiaomi Mi Band as "trusted device" to be able to unlock the phone with a simple press of the 'virtual' home button, whilst keeping the device secured when I'm not near.
