I'm wondering if Xposed Installer works for the Note 4 the same way it did for the Note 3. I had Xposed Installer on my Note 3 so I could use the motoxtether and adaway modules. I was wondering if I could use it in the same manner on my Note 4 DE?
If not then that raises the question of how would I go about using my hotspot? I am already rooted. I saw a thread where people used the paid version of foxfi but it wasn't flawless. Any suggestions?
I searched for a thread regarding Xposed and the Note 4 and came up with different answers nothing definitive.

It works on Note 4 on TW and if you're rooted head over to Mod57's Unofficial CM12 in General forum and grab his Beanstalk 5.0...thread isn't long as there's only a few of us running it, but its well worth it. Remember for CM stuff its ROM,gapps, then kernel/zips in that order...if you're not accustomed to flashing CM/AOSP stuff.
Xposed works great on the Dev Edition. I am running firekat 4.4.4 and probably have 12 modules going. Will jump to 5.0 once more modules are supported.
Thanks guys. Running it with no issues for about a week now.:good:

I have note 4 verizon,
I was able to install xposed and turn on mobile hotspot while the phone was rooted. But I had limited connection meaning no internet. I am not sure what I did wrong. I would appreciate any help
Thank you
Did the mobile hotspot work before you installed xposed? I would uninstall xposed, reboot and then make sure the hotspot works fine. Then try xposed again but dont add lots of modules...could be a strange conflict somewhere. Go one at a time and make sure you don't break the hotspot

I have researched and looked but can't seem to find a definitive answer. How does the Note 4 DE get updated to the next version of Android? For example, I order the Note 4 DE today with 4.4.4. What happens when 5.x.x comes out. How does that phone get the update. I have been told by Samsung that the wireless carrier is going to put out the update; however I know better than that as the boot loader will get locked. I have read were Samsung Kies is used to update also. I have read (on xda) that Samsung has and probably will never send out an update for a DE device. I am looking to keep the UDP with Verizon so I have to pay full price when getting a DE device or retail. Thanks.
If your stock and locked with the de it'll come over the air, and because it's the developer edition it will not lock the phone. But if you unlock and run the custom roms you can update threw recovery with the custom software of your choosing.

So, OTA updates will not lock the boot loader on the Developer Edition Note 4. I was going to wait until 5.x.x came out for the note 4 so I could buy the note 4 DE with it already on it. That apparently is not necessary because the OTA updates will not lock the boot loader and the DE units will get 5.x.x when the retail one does through OTA... correct?
P.S - I am planning on tinkering around with Rom's once I get all the research done and know what I am doing. The last time I messed around with the phone was when I had the HTC Thunderbolt. Thanks for the quick reply.

Where to start...first, there no such thing as "stock and locked" on a developer edition. It is unrooted, but the bootloader is unlocked out of the box. Secondly past developer edition phones did not get updates and even if one happened to appear, I would be very cautious about taking it as you definitely do not know that it "will not lock your phone". Developer edition phones were designed for developers and as such the expectation is that the user is knowledge and can handle tweaking and updating on their own. Do not expect an OTA update.
As for how the DE will get 5.0, that will be up to a creative developer somewhere to put out a ROM that can be flashed in custom recovery. Some work has been done on CM 12 so we shall see.
Thanks tfly212!!! That is exactly what I needed to know. I will be reading everything I can to get that knowledge. Thanks again!

No worries. The dev edition is a great device. There are some good ROMs available on 4.4.4 and I'm sure there will be a 5.0 ROM at some point. I'm in no rush for 5.0... Not until Xposed is supported. I use a bunch of those modules and would miss them too much.

Hi Friends,
I have two questions that I need help on:
1. Is there a way to hide root in Lollipop ROMs? I am sure you guys use Banking apps and other corporate security apps that don't like a Rooted phone. In KitKat we could do this through Xposed modules like RootCloak and etc. Any options to do this on 5.0+. I specifically really need Good for Enterprise to work for my Corporate Emails.
2. Since the official release of the Tmo Lollipop for the Note 3, are there any ROMs where NFC is now working for Note 3? Especially AOSP/CM/AOKP?
Thank you for your help!

Unfortunately, Good doesn't work on rooted lollipop.
Even I am looking for it. tried a lot of things, not successful.
Good thing is that xposed for lollipop was released. but it doesn't work on touchwiz roms yet. Hope that's fi
xed soon, then we'll have the root check blockers.
1. Until xposed is working on touchwiz I do not think that hiding root will be possible. Rootcloak works on cydia, and I don't think that is up and running on 5.0 roms yet.
2. NFC Lollipop issue. This was due to kernel source not being available. Eventually there will be kernels that support NFC but not for a little bit.

Thanks gentlemen, that's what I had thought - Xposed being the answer, but in case there was another solution, I had to ask for it .
As for the NFC thing, wouldn't the official drop from T-Mobile of 5.0, come with the Kernel? Even if we can't modify, could we use the stock Kernel to make the NFC work?
Thanks again and if there is more information out there, please go ahead and respond, friends .

Search is your friend...
If you want one that works for 5.1.1 (arter's doesn't), use Wanam's version. Works on both deodexed and odexed:

Works great on my phone. Couldn't live without it.
Ok guys I did my homework I read 90% of the threads and have searched high and low so now I have to ask. Has anyone successfully gotten Advanced calling to work with the new marshmallow update with your unlock Bootloader? I know that most don't use it but me and my family do video calling is a must and I like the smoothness of Verizon's Advanced Calling plus internet while on the phone is a big bonus. If anyone is able to help me out here I'd be very greatful. I have 3 note 4's 2 on 6.0.1 and the other still on 5.1.1. The phone on 5.1.1 has the advanced calling already active I was just hoping to have it on marshmallow without having to run full-blown stock and locked bootloader. Thanks for any and all help.

You may need to activate it on your account. I think you can do that on verizonwireless.com
I deactivated and waited 24 hours and reactivated with it still not activating on the phones. I had the same issue on my lg v10 I had to go back to stock then flash the update root file over it for it to stay activated. But I don't know if I can do that With the note 4. Not sure if I can odin the verizon MM update and then do the bootloader unlock.

I flashed jasmine 6.0 or should I say restored jasmine then I set up my phone once all completed and make sure to have Advanced calling already active then dirty flash PaulPizz overtop of jasmine and your good to go. So far I've had no repercussions and I've been running it for about 3 days..

Working xposed for moto z play?? Anyone
Yeah GravityBox, Amplify and Greenify are working for me.
Here too although I had some struggles to get Gravity Box running. I then used the older Xposed Installer 3.0.alpha4 and GB 6.1.5 - now it works. Don't know if it was the recent installer or the recent GB giving me trouble - maybe someone could give a hint.
yup
How were you guys able to root your moto's and install xposed? All I've been able to do so far is unlock the bootloader haha
Got root via the TWRP
edit: woops wrong thread
But yes, xposed is working

Are you running stock or did you flash cyanogen? And if you are running cyanogen, do you have any of the moto mods and how well are they working/not working?
I think a lot of the confusion is the Unlocked GSM version vs Locked CDMA version... I don't believe Root or Xposed will work on the Locked CDMA Verizon version.. but hope this is incorrect since I would love to get a Moto Z Play cdma and have it rooted with xposed...

That's what I've read so far. Locked down bootloader. Verizon doesn't want people w/ grandfather'd unlimited plans being able to tether w/o a fee.

I just hope someone can find an exploit to at least get ROOT. I think i'm getting out of the flashing ROMs business.. but still miss the ability to completely remove system apps, modify system sounds, and using xposed framework to get some added features.. :fingers-crossed:
