When I first rooted my S3 I was looking for ROMs to try. I remember coming across a link to download the stock Rogers ROM with the bloatware removed.
For the life of me I am not able to find it again now that I would like to go back to the stock ROM. Does anyone know of a stock Rogers Canada ROM for the S3 (i747)?
Thanks,
imcndn
Depending on your bootloader, you may not be able to flash a de-bloated ROM if the de-bloated ROM flashes an older bootloader.
The boot loader is I747UCUEMJB
Do you have an i747 or i747m? Only the i747 (at&t version) has an mjb bootloader and flashing a Rogers ROM onto an i747 may or may not work well.

No boot Stuck at Samsung Galaxy Logo.
Tried to unlock Bootloader to flash Stock ATT odin. (Bad Idea)
used EZunlock and bricked my device. brought back with SDcard img.
any thoughts on the subject.
Although the i747 and i747m are identical according to many posts, I don't think they will work properly when using cross-flashed bootloaders.
Hello there, I have my stock T999 4.3 rooted and unlocked (not factory unlocked) to use with other network.
I would like to know if i flash and use one of the custom ROMs (T999) available here will lock my S3 again? Thanks.
Ive unrooted my phone via the super user app but I still have the Liquid Smooth ROM. From everything I read I was under the impression it would reboot completely stock
How do get it back to stock ROM!? I have been searching everywhere and nothing?
I want to get my OTA updates as I haven't used this phone since last year. I don't have access to a computer as NY charger bit the dust and I'm working the next 2 weeks in a remote location with no WiFi (I have data though)
Can any on help me, I'm slightly desperate as this Liquid Smooth ROM lags horrible, reboots if I try to use the front camera (in any app!) and is missing a lot of simple stock features like the messaging app lol,
Oy what have I done am I stuck with this or is there a way to reroot without a PC so I can flash a stock ROM?!
I'm assuming you have the i747 from AT&T.
Unrooting simply removes your administrator access to system files and apps that need root access to be fully functional, that's all.
What bootloader is on your phone? If the phone has a 4.1.2 bootloader or lower, the easiest way to get back to stock would be to flash a stock AT&T ROM from sammobile. com using Odin and I recommend living with the phone in its current state until your get access to a PC and charger.
If your bootloader is 4.3 or higher, you cannot flash a stock AT&T ROM using Odin because AT&T naver released a full ROM that can be flashed that way. You'll confirm your bootloader and follow the appropriate thread to get as close to stock as possible.
I keep mentioning the bootloader because flashing the wrong bootloader/modem combination could hard brick your phone.

I attached an image does that help as far as boot loader goes? I'm not sure how to check it. I have the I747M on virgin mobile Canada. Att ROMs have usually worked perfectly. So if my boot loader is compatible I can flash a stock ROM with Odin without rerooting?
Since you have an i747m, the safest and easiest way to restore to completely stock would be to wait until you can flash a stock 4.3 ROM via Odin. Do not attempt to flash anything older than 4.3.
Custom AT&T ROMs will work on your i747m but I don't recommend using stock AT&T ROMs on an i747m. Also, do not flash AT&T modems or bootloaders onto an i747m as this will probably brick your phone.

Okay that first part sounds simple enough for me.
But what would be a preferable stock ROM to flash if not ATT (assuming you say this because my phone is Virgin Mobile Canada) If I remember correctly I had flashed a ATT stock ROM a long time ago and ended up with no service and security issues that I eventually fixed but were a pain in the arse to figure out. I don't know if I've ever come across a Virgin Mobile ROM. I believe they are a sub company of Bell btw.
Go to sammobile.com and flash any mk5 firmware you want for the i747m. You can choose from Rogers, Bell, and Telus.
I have cross-flashed a Rogers ROM onto a Telus Phone and a Telus ROM onto a Bell phone.
Based on my own experience, all i747m ROMs for Canadian carriers appear to be the same except for carrier customisations.

Okay! Perfect this is a lot more straight forward than I anticipated, thank you SO much!!
When flashing the ROM with Odin, uncheck everything except f.reset time. When the flash is complete, you will see the word "reset" in the status window. When you see reset, remove the USB cable, remove the battery, replace the battery, boot into recovery, and wipe cache, data, Dalvik, and reboot.
Hi guys I need some information regarding to How to root, flash Custom ROMS, flash various Recoveries and if I want to revert back to full stock ROM whenever I want to how will I do it?
My device model is SGH-I747M (Rogers Carrier) and I've updated it to the latest OTA update 4.4 KitKat
I've seen may threads regarding to the SGH-I747 but all are for AT&T carrier but not any single for the Rogers carrier why?
Do you have any warranty left on your phone? Flashing a custom recovery will trip the warranty counter and change it from 0 to 1.

I haven't rooted/flashed nothing on my phone yet. All I'm just asking the question bro and yea I don't have any warranty for it
The easiest way to root, in my opinion, is to flash a custom recovery in Odin. After flashing a custom recovery, boot into recovery, flash supersu, boot the phone, allow supersu to update and disable knox. Then boot back into recovery, create a nandroid backup, and flash a custom ROM for the d2lte.
To flash back to stock, you can restore your nandroid backup or flash a stock ROM from sammobile.com. Just make sure to match the sammobile.com ROM with your bootloader.
The big difference between the i747 (AT&T) and the i747M (various Canadian carriers) is the bootloader and modem. They are NOT interchangeable between the i747 and the i747M. I haven't seen any of the custom ROMs for these SGS3s that flash bootloader and modem. Therefore any of the custom ROMS for the i747 will work with the i747M. Custom TouchWiz based ROMs are safe to use.
If the instructions for installing a ROM say that you must be on the NE4 or NJ1 bootloader and modem, the equivalent for the Rogers i747M are (NDx?), NF2, and NKx. From your original post I believe you are on the NKx bootloader and modem pair. This is good for any of the Kitkat and Lollipop ROMs. The only catch is that the updater-scripts for some of the older KK ROMs may not recognize the newest bootloader and modems. The ROMs are still good, it just takes a bit of work to get them installed. The same extra work would actually allow you to run a JellyBean (4.3) ROM.
Stock ROMs, those designed to return your device to factory condition (+/- root and +/- custom recovery), require much more care.
If you ever need to return to stock for your i747M, DO NOT flash a ROM that will down grade your modem and bootloader. Downgrading the bootloader and modem once you are at, or past, the 4.3.x versions will brick the i747 and I have read it will do the same for the i747M. If you can not find a stock ROM in the forums for the i747M you can find them at sammobile.com.
There are some stock ROMs available in the forums that include the AT&T bootloader and modem. DO NOT flash/install any of these.
There are stock ROMs for the i747 in the forum that do not contain bootloader and modem. These are safe for you, but BE CAREFUL. You do not want to mistakenly try to install one that does have the bootloader and modem
Also, do not flash a modem that does not match your bootloader in version number. This did not matter prior to the 4.3 bootloader and modem, it has ever since.
I have a Samsung S3 AT&T version, SGH-i747. The phone is rooted and I have the ROM backed up using CWM.
Can I flash this phone with the stock T-Mobile ROM version without any issues (I believe it is T999?).
My goal is to get wifi calling which doesn't come with the ATT model and from what I've read, if I can install the T-Mobile stock ROM or a custom version of it, it will come the wifi calling capability.
Thanks
Hi,
According to my experience, I would say NO.
But you can try it. And if it doent work, revert back to your ROM
By the way I am using custom ROM too on ATT phone.
It may be a matter of semantics, but do not install the stock T-mobile rom. Stock implies you will also be flashing the bootloader and modem. Installing the T999 bootloader and modem on the i747 will brick it. Anything from Sammobile would flash bootloader and modem.
Now, I have seen a number of CM, AOSP, and custom TouchWiz (based on Stock Samsung) ROMs for the i747 that will run on the T999. I would think the reverse would hold true, the T999 ROMs running on the i747. AS LONG AS they do not flash bootloader and modem. BE ADVISED, I have not searched the T999 threads to verify this conjecture. Some doubt enters my mind as I recall that T999 ROMs support AWS while i747 ROMs do not, this may break running them on the i747.
The T999 roms should run fine for the most part. It's safe to flash one to try, just DO NOT flash the firmware as mentioned above.
As for WiFi calling, don't get your hopes up. If I'm not mistaken it's tied into the modem (part of the firmware you cannot flash). So unless you have a T999, WiFi calling won't work.
