[Q] Tab S wifi only doesn't have IMEI? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I recently bought a Tab S 8.4 online (ebay). 'Refurbishment check' Using phone info app says that the device is not genuine and it couldnt find IMEI or baseband. Can anyone please testt their wifi only tab with Phoneinfo app and let me know the result. I attached the screenshot for your reference. It does have a serial number though.

Cough cough. That's because I am on a custom rom. I dont think wifi devices need Imei. Someone correct me if I am wrong. But you ahould be fine if you have the same chip stuff. Download CPUZ and check your chipset. It should say exynos something and a bunch more.

Thanks for the quick reply bro..lets see what it will show on others.
I used Antutu benchmarks and after running the test, it showed the chipset, resolution, ram, camera and other info..everything seems to match with the specifications of SM-T700.

You shouldn't worry. You have all OK! The Phone Info Samsung program so defines WiFi the SM-T700 version. Really this Tab version has no IMEI and Baseband.

IMEI is a mobile security number for identiy/theft.
It wont have one unless it is 4G.

[Q] Does the Note II's double panel view work with any given app?

Hi!
The title says it all, I'm interested if the Note II can handle any app in double panel view.
I use computer almost never, and having a smartphone which could view any 2 apps at a time would be so good and would be a great next phone I'll buy.
Thanks for your answers already!
Not stock. Only a handful of apps will work in multi view.
But there is a mod in dev section that allows any app to run in multiview

Only certain stock apps are available in the Multi window by default. If you need to add your own apps, there are a few methods, or you can flash a ROM that already have this feature built-in
So far, the easiest is this one, you just need to find the item name of the apps you wish to add, and use the webtool to generate a zip file to flash into your Note II (You need to be rooted)
Here's how mine looks like once I added apps that I want :

Do remember to do the necessary backups before proceeding further.
Hope this helps!
Ok, thanks for your replies. At this time I wasn't able to find the mod kylec mentioned about, and the manual method looks pretty creepy, but I'll look into it later, when I actually have the device with me. It was a big relievement to know that there is at least some way to double-panel all apps. It's sad how Samsung doesn't give us the device's full potential by standard.
Remind that even u flash unlimited multi window mod , it wont be easy to use, many apps will be stretched strangly.

SPD Clien update

A couple of days ago, a notification to update SPDClient appeared in Galaxy App Store (Samsung Apps). But what is this app for, and what does the update do? The descriptions does not show any relevant information and there are many comments asking what does this app do.
Does anyone know about this app?

It tells you in the app description what it is.

I also got that and was little afraid of updating, worrying if Samsung trying to sneak some security update for Knox, or root discovery etc.(I'm stock rooted). But it seems to be internal driver related to data exchange over networks, possibly updated due to new hardware like VR or S-watch. I updated it now, so in case I buy Samsung watch or some other new hardware in near future, I won't go crazy wondering why it doesn't work, since once you decline the update, usually doesn't come back anymore.

Spyware in Huawei

Hey! I'm using Huawei honor 7x smartphone ,recently I found out there's a pre- installed 'imonitor' spyware app running in the background. How to disable it?
Root your phone or use a firewall.
Is there any other ways to disable or remove it from my device?
Yeah you can root the phone and delete it.
How did you find it out? Can you please share details about it?
Following---I would like to know as well.
Do you trust Huawei?
Here is the only thing I could find that seemed relevant. A little spooky, not sure what to make of it.
https://translate.googleusercontent...700201&usg=ALkJrhhLeJqxYowgOLGjUcpbSCYtyjpOpg
Huawei's various privacy policies and eulas claim to be goverened by Texas or German law. I took a screenshot of the type of information they collect (Settings, about, legal) They also claim they will not be bound by UN law. Finally, I can't remember which privacy policy I read this in, but one of them did make distinctions based on geographic location regarding what data is transmitted to Huawei. The 4 I can remember, IIRC, are certain level of transmission for mainland China, India, and Hong Kong, or with no transmission happening outside of those regions. I can't remember which app or service this was though....
Really, IMO, if you are concerned about privacy, you really shouldn't be using an Android device with sensitive data.

Here's a good link describing some "spyware"

well, there's an app or process that runs in the background named iMonitor.

I just updated my T-Mobile Tab s4 to Pie. I was hoping the Tab S5e message and calling feature would come to this tablet. Well, it did, but is blocked. It is baked into the Pie update and alive on the tablet (see screenshot), i just cannot access it. Any savvy geniuses out there want to get this figured out?
Any luck?
Could you flash an international ROM possibly? I'm not sure exactly what would be compatible or not.
I have a SMT835N and recently tried a Sprint ROM and Phone ability was removed. I am wondering if the same limitation is applied across US carriers and if that limitation is not present in international versions.
Hi. Your post doesn't show any screenshot. How do I get there? I have the Wi-Fi version.

Call and message continuity (as far as I know) didn't get added to the S4. Maybe for the LTE versions, but my US wifi model doesn't even have the option. Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?
I'm not seeing it on my T-Mobile S4 at all...
My UK Wifi Tab S4 got Continuity with the Pie update, but I was only able to use it when my S10+ received an update this week.
Screenshots?
My tab s4 does not have call option with any update
I found something potentially interesting. I'm not sure about the inner workings of Call and Message Continuity, but it seems like it might be an apk? There is an app with that name on apkmirror. I downloaded and tried to install it but it just says install failed..... If that's all that's needed maybe it needs to be a system app?

Galaxy Watch SM-R800 battery drain

Goodmorning everyone,
I open this thread today after several days of useless attempts to solve the battery drain problem of my smartwatch.
Premise, I don't know exactly what could have caused this problem of mine but from one day to the other instead of lasting 4 days, the battery now lasts about 20h.
Below I will list all the tests carried out.
1) Flashed different firmware.
2) Changed the battery.
3) Revoke all permission for all sensors.
4) Put the smartwatch in airplane mode.
5) Factory data reset several times.
moreover, when I go to the Galaxy Wearable app, I see this battery usage which obviously does not coincide with the real one.

Hey, since you have experience flashing this watch, can you help me?
Can I downgrade from tizen 5.5 to tizen 4 with no issue?
Do I still need to use the csc file from the 3 file zip in netodin if not changing region, do I need to make sure to use a correct one or make modifications to the file to match my current csc or this doesnt matter?
