[Q] WiFi Connection Issues - Oppo Find 7 and 7a

I have recently been unable to connect to my home wi-fi router.
It shows the correct SSID and I've entered the correct password, but it repeatedly states; Authenticating, Obtaining IP Address, Saved, then recycles. Sometimes it states the router is out of range despite showing full signal icon.
All my other devices are connecting correctly, so it's something to do with my phone.
I'm using an Oppo 7a, AICP 4.4.4 ROM with unified storage.
Is there a modem or suchlike I can update or a setting I'm missing?
I don't have an unlimited data plan so I need my wi-fi connectivity.

[Q] unable to connect to any wifi network from the wireless list

my phone can see any wireless network just fine and even can see any network encryption changes but for unkown reason the connect button feels like the cancel button
when i try to connect to any encrypted network it ask me for the password then nothing happens
i tried installing different firmwares and they all do the same thing
now what?!
oh...i tried wifi fix.zip and it missed up the network enable/disable key so i restored my phone back to my 2 days old backup which also suffer from the same problem
i am on CM9 BETA4
when this problem happend i was using the internet on my phone and all the sudden the net access was down so i checked the router log very fast and the last thing i seen on the mikrotik wifi server log was my phone connecting with too many diff mac address (6 of them) with the same ip
i checked the wifi server if my phone's ip or mac was banned and the answer was no
i have one place left and it is the phone itself can a virus unbind the wifi connect key?
turned out that the phone for some unknow reasons doesn't connect to any wifi network with space in ssid name
changed the ssid from space to under score and everything is working again on CM9 B4

CM10.1 Stable, IP address STUCK. Not releasing and renewing.

I was running totally stock on my Nexus until a few days ago. Decided to go back to CM again now that 10.1 stable is out. No problem at first but since yesterday my IP address is getting STUCK. At home i have the usual 192.168.1.xxx subnet address, but at work I have a 192.168.0.xxx range. All of sudden my phone is now stuck on my home IP address and it is not releasing properly and getting assigned it's proper address at work. The usual DHCP in both places. When I get to to my work network I see the usual messages, authenticating, obtaining IP address shows, then it says CONNECTED just like usual. Except it still has my home IP and thus, no network access when I'm at work. I had no issue prior to installing CM 10.1
Anything I should try? (beyond multiple reboots, and turning wifi on and off, which I've done of course). Any caches I should try clearing?
Update. Even though rebooting and turning wifi on/off didn't fix it, I connected to a different nearby network, then tried reconnecting to my work network. It then DID clear and update the IP to a proper one handed out by DHCP. It's strange. Perhaps it's a DHCP issue. Another guy on my network had the same thing happen with his phone. Anyway...I will keep poking around.
Have a Wifi issue to: can't connect to my Network(s)
To install le CM10.1 Stable, I do a complete factory reset, delete all Datas, ....etc. Installed 10.1 stable with gapps the latest.
Wifi worked fine until i do a reboot from Phone (I do this Reboot to do a backup)
Since this reboot, the wifi don't see anymore the neighbor network. I have 2 SSID: one in 2.4ghz and one in the 5ghz. Both with diferent SSID Names... I didn't touch anythings in my Wifi router settings!!
In 5ghz i see the network, but the connection is flapping between Authentication, retrieve IP, Authentication.....etc .
In 2.4ghz, network is out of range...
No problem with my Crespo, same CM10.1 Stable
Have anybody other the same issue ??

[TIP] Wifi connected but no internet connection!

At some points in your life, one of your Android devices connect to a wifi router, but can't connect to the internet. However, your computer, laptop or iPad will connect to that same wifi and use the internet just fine. I've looked everywhere on the internet for solutions, some of them are:
+ Turn off and on both modem and wifi router
+ Factory reset wifi router
+ Battery pull your phone, wait 30s and put it back
+ Reflash stock or custom ROM
+ Change DHCP IP setting to Static
+ Disable security (WEP, WPA) on wifi router
+ Check DNS server, gateway IP address for correctness
Fortunately, I stumbled upon this old thread last night -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371794
It helped fix the internet connection temporarily, turning off and on wifi on phone caused the issue to repeat.
In summary, he found out the correct MAC address for gateway was mismatched with the one on his phone. Even though the gateway IP address is correct (example: default gateway IP 192.168.1.1)
Upon further investigations, I found out my Wifi ROUTER has the same IP address with my MODEM (192.168.1.1) This IP conflict causes the phone to recognized the WIFI ROUTER's MAC address as the gateway's MAC address. This problem mostly occurs on Android phone, not computer (I'm no tech savvy so I have no idea why)
Simple fix: Go to wifi router setting page, change the IP address on wifi router to different number (other than default 192.168.1.1), and the problem should be fixed.
Please help spread the words to fellow Android lovers, I'm sure a lot of us have struggled with this problem
I'm one guy who is desperately looking for a solution to this.
Unfortunately the solution you gave didn't work.
Hi
i have a problem with wifi. it remains connected but loses internet access randomly. i found this solution:
"In the wifi networks, select the network you want and select ‘Forget network’
Turn off the wifi
kill all the apps with your task manager
Turn on the wifi again
Connect to the network
Check the internet connectivity
If still the problem exist, switch off the phone and redo the above steps"
it solves the problem, but it happens again after some minutes. actually, i also installed an app named "wifi fixer" which does the above process automatically. when the program is active, it turns the wifi off and on every 2-3 minutes. and the phone has internet access when the program tuns the wifi on.
any idea?
Turn off wifi optimization on some android phones help.

2 years after the last reply I am having the same problem. My wife and kids all have internet access on their phones, tablets, desktop and laptops all from the same modem router yet I am unable to use the internet on my Galaxy S2 mobile phone even though my phone says connected to Wi-Fi Network Netgear 06.
The Mac address solution provided isn't applicable to my situation as my Mac address on my mobile is different to my modem router Mac address.
Any other solution?

[Q] Wi Fi Connectivity

Hi all,
Lost info for my original account, so I made a new one.
Straight out of the box my HTC One has not been able to connect to my router. It gives me the message that it's avoiding a poor internet connection although under the connections it says the signal strength is excellent. My laptop connects just fine. My Razr HD connects just fine, but interestingly my wife's galaxy S3 will not connect either. It gives her the same message.
I've tried changing the bandwidth from auto to 2.4 to 5. I've tried forgetting the network. I've tried static internet connection with IP address 192.168.0.15 and also 10.0.0.11 I enabled the DLNA, there is no useable option to clear cache or clear data and last of all I did a factory reset.
None of these worked. DLNA and the static internet connection have allowed me to connect, but it's not really connected. I'm not sure what's happening. It says connected with excellent signal strength, but nothing connects. No internet, no netflix, no nothing.
I think it might be something to do with the router itself, but I don't think I'll be able to get any information from netgear's people. It's not broken (other devices connect just fine) but these newer smartphones seem to have a problem with it.
Neatgear N300. Also, I tried WPS connection as well. No Dice.
Thanks
Update-I've found a -similar- issue in this forum regarding specific bandwidth connectivity issues for dual band routers. One of the suggestions was to update the firmware. I haven't been able to do this successfully. Still trying.
Update 2-Tried to connect to Safeway WiFi today. No luck. It goes to the sign in page and it's just blank. At home it says the page is unavailable. At safeway it's just blank...
*bump* No help at all?

Problems connecting to wifi network with login page (3G still active)

I don't know if this problem occurs only with the OP3. It seems the phone stiil uses 3G if Wifi is not getting a connection (wifi with exclamation mark)
When I connect to a wifi network that needs login, if I don't login the OP3 continues to use 3G instead of failing to connect. This causes me problems to access the gateway page to login, because it gets confused and it tries to access the private IP with the login page using the 3G connection..
I remember my S4 had a possibility of seamlessly switching between 3G and Wifi. Can't I disable this feature in the OP3?
Right now I have to disable the mobile data to force the login through the wifi connection. Is it just me with this problem?
This can be handy in some situations where you loose wifi connection in a public hotspot, due to a timeout, and the phone uses 3G instead of leaving you without any connection. But right now is causing me problems to connect and I must be carefull with huge traffic apps because you can be using 3G instead (look for the !)
I still haven't solve this annoyance. Currently the best workaround is to temporarly disconnect Mobile Data. That will leave the OP3 without internet access, and then it pops the login page (I guess it then assumes the gateway IP is private).
After logging in I can turn mobile data On again.
This is very annoying. Don't you have this problem, especially with corporate wifi networks that require login?
