[Q] What's the next step? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi,
This is my first time doing this and I've been doing pretty good until I get to this stage where I got the status 7 error while installing zip file cm-11-20140217-NIGHTLY-d2spr.zip. I want to transfer other files (cm-11-20140203-NIGHTLY-d2spr.zip) to my phone but when I reboot, the logo still stuck on "Samsung Galaxy S III"...
I am still able to go into PhilZ Touch 6 CWM Base version 6.0.4.5 but I don't really know what to do from there. The files I have currently in my phone are:
DE-SAMSUNGNIZER_KNOX_REMOVAL_SCRIPT_V1.0.zip
UPDATE-SuperSU-V1.93.zip
cm-11-2014-0217-NIGHTLY-d2spr.zip
pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20131230-signed.zip
What I did was:
1. Rooted my phone using Odin and verified that my phone was root via RootChecker app.
2. I went to "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" and chose the option to "Clean to Install a New ROM".
3. Then I received the error Status 7 message
4. Reboot and it also said "Root access is missing. Root device?" then either option (yes or no), still stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S III.
My phone is Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III 4.4.2, SPH-L710 and I followed the instruction from this website: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596697
Your assistance is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I did find that website but the problem is I can't transfer the modified zip to my phone since it's stuck on the logo. I don't have external SD card.. I only have internal storage. Is there any other way? perhaps installing stock rom via Odin? I'm not sure which download link is safe for my phone... Thanks.

You could update it to the latest firmware- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3007847
I highly recommend getting an external SD for ROMs and Nandroid backups (they're super cheap on Amazon)

Hello (c)ollen!
Do you need the sdk for the Android drivers (for adb)
Or
Just the Motorola drivers?
He is yet to use superoneclick. He tried with z4 and had no success.

Z4 is just for the SGS isnt it?
Anyway, superoneclick is a one button press. Just need the motorola drivers, connect the phone in debug, open SOC and hit root.
Thank you good sir/madam!

[Q] GT-N7100 Soft-Brick

Hey Guys
1- I'v rooted my GT-N7100 long time ago (couldn't remember the method but the developer said the methood doesn't make any alteration to your device, Just root privilege. even doesn't install CWM)
2- I'v installed CWM through "ROM Manager" android app last week.
3- Installed some 4.4.2 ROMs but all unstable, crashing in few minutes. (All the ROMs got good comment 'n I think there is a problem with my device!!)
- DN3 (Ditto Note 3) ROM
- JellyKatv4
- CM11 ROM for Galaxy Note 2
- BLUE LIGHTNING
4- Decided to flash official 4.3 firmware downloaded from: "http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=12202" through ODIN, but got "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again“ message.
5- Decided to unbrick with ODIN, but every-time it fails (tried different ODIN versions 'n different USB ports)
6- Tried to do so with KIES, but it does not recognize the device (Stucks on connecting message, troubleshooting doesn't effect). Also tried "Tools> Firmware Upgrade and Initialization" option directly, It crashes in EVERY STEPS.
So if u have any Idea to fix this, please share!

Verify you've correct drivers installed and a working USB cable. Have you tried flashing your phone under PDA Tab? With only 'Auto Reboot' checked.

[Q] Can't Boot any Non Cyanogen ROM

I have a SG3 Sprint SPH-L710. I have been flashing ROMS for the past 2 years no Problem.
I tried a few 5.02 Cyanogen ROMS they flash fine and boot. Now when I go back to a Non-Cyanogen ROM it just hangs, even When I tried to do a restore from Phiz it will not boot.
I can load another CM12 ROM and it boots fine. UNrooted and tried to start over using Odin and I can root and load the TAR ROM just fine, but still will not allow any ROMS like Wicked to boot. Installs fine no errors. Just ODIN NJ2 still can't Boot any non-CM12 ROMS. So Basically only Cm11 and cm12 ROMS Will work.
Any Suggestions

Wipe your internal SD card (back it up to your PC first, if possible), lollipop encrypts data on the internal SD and when you flash a new ROM it cannot read the encryption because it doesn't have the key.

After 3 Wipes of the Phone complete format. It finally was able to take the ROMS.
I guess even though the Internal memory was empty, something must have been lingering around.
Thanks for the input.

So...I'm no longer under warranty thru Sprint, but still have hardware coverage. So my Sprint store said in not so many words that playing with my software is a go.
So I haven't done a root since my lg2 so I'm way out of the loop. I've been reading thru the forums here but all confusing and not very organized.

First off, you need Odin. It's a must, can't do anything without it.
Next you need to download TWRP custom recovery (Team Win Recovery Project) and use Odin to flash it.
From there, go into twrp on your phone and flash superuser to root your phone. OR if you're going for a rom, make a backup, go to wipe, advanced wipe, and select dalvik, system, data, and cache, perform a wipe, then flash the rom you choose. Most roms come prerooted anyway so you won't need to manually flash for root.
Hope this helps.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) sm-p605 | can't install TWRP

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to install TWRP on my tablet but I've encountered some issues: starting from this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...al-twrp-3-5-1-for-lt03lte-18-03-2021.3635803/ I've used Odin3_3.14.4 and Odin3_v3.13.1 to flash it but nothing changed.
I've also installed different versions of TWRP but the problem still persist.
The bootloader is the 5.1.1
Could please someone help me with it?
Thanks.

Hi,
Sorry I thought it was obvious: I've tried to install as the steps you linked so:
1. Run Android in Power mode
2. Run odin (the version I've linked before)
3. Install from odin the .tar downloaded directly from the twrp website
let me know if you want more specific details.

No, you did not provide a link to the odin you used.
So use the version of The Muppets.
After flashing TWRP you need to start recovery mode instead of letting android boot. The easiest way to do this after properly flashing TWRP:
unplug the USB cable
turn off the device with the power button
turn on recovery mode
Hi,
I've followed the step you posted, but nothing changed: after flashing it, if i press POWER BUTTON + POWER VOLUME UP, I can see the android boot loader and not the TWRP.

Auto reboot must not be selected.
If it still fails, try an older Odin e.g. 3.10.7.

Hi,
I've installed the twrp-2.8.7.0-lt03ltexx-4.4.img.tar version, I have 2 problems:
1. I can't upgrade to twrp-3.1.1-0-lt03ltexx.img.tar, I've tried before but it goes in boot loop and I had to disconnect the battery and rollback to twrp-2.8.7, do you know how can I update to 3.11 version?
2. I want to install Lineage OS but all the posts I've found needs another TWRP version (for example this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...eos-17-1-for-lt03lte-20-03-2021-beta.4046055/ that needs the 3.2.1 version) do you know if I can install the same lineage OS version or do I have to make a custom version of it?
Thanks.
