Hey guys I tried adding on screen soft buttons (navigation bar) by adding this line of code
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
to the build prop. (as you do with other android phones to get the nav bar) but it just causes force closes and does not work. Has anyone else tried to do this? or Does anyone else have any input on this?

Hi all developers!
I've recently enabled Navigation bar ( qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 ) in my note 2
However I found out the Dialer/Call log has an additional MENU BAR on top, blocking the view of some call logs thus quite ugly. I've tried changing DPI although the blocked call logs become "visible", the whole call log screen is somewhat ugly because of the stuff become smaller and not proportionate.
Also, I found out many other apps start showing "3 dot Menu" on the top right corner once I've enabled the Navigation bar. But I'm not interested in seeing all these, since I've my hardware Menu key working so I really don't need the additional MENU BAR or 3 dot menu.
Can anyone help me to get rid of 3 dot menu? I've been deep investigation on this from recompiling SystemUI.apk (which replaced the recent app soft button to menu button), but it's still not hiding the MENU BAR and 3 dot menu.
Recently I saw AOKP or AOSP ROM has this feature (Menu UI Overflow Toggle) I believe is what I'm looking for, can't be sure what it does until someone confirm this to me
The source code is here:
https://github.com/TeamSourcery/frameworks_base/commit/1477d1acc1303174aa1c23d28d64fb36d4268742
Anyone know how can I use the code above (where to modify and recompile my 4.1.2 rooted deodexed ROM) and remove the annoying 3 dot menu?
Many thanks your help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

Wrong section bud, this should be in QA or Themes
Hi All,
I am looking for a Rom that has multi-window control, but also a toggable virtual navigation bar like AOKP. I only need the virtual nav bar when connected to the 7" lcd in my car. I have tried button savior, but it overlays on top of apps and gets in the way.
I was hoping to find a rom that has both features. I searched but didnt see anything specific.

this worked for me a while ago to get the navigation bar

its perm though you cant simply toggle it on or off...you have to remove the lines you added to remove the bar.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, doing that method and putting the phone into landscape and the nav buttons get all screwed up.
So has anyone been able to enable the Nav bar?
I tired searching and it seems like it would just be a buildprop edit. Since I dont trust the recovery currently(heard too many bricks). I wanted to know if anyone had done this yet.
Now once enabled, is there a way to edit the buttons, such as color size of height, or add other buttons/rearrange.
Once thats done, is there a way to disable the capacitive buttons.
My device is Jovi's stock rooted odexed rom. I have twrp and running xposed with some modules.
Thanks
EDIT:
So i just tried adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to build prop but SystemUI keeps crashing with no stats bar.
I tried a soft nav bar root app from the playstore and got the same thing
Gravity Box yields same results
Anyone have any suggestions?
so anyone get this to work?

I haven't.
Are you talking about soft keys at the bottom of the screen for home/back/search/etc? If so I would love to see a solution. It sucks not having a search button. Ideally I'd have the bar on the bottom and turn the physical home key into a camera button.
Not the solution you want but. ultimate dynamic navbar... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270198

Anyone successfully enable on the onscreen nav keys on the Mini? I'm using the Mini as a running/biking gps device and use it in a forearm cradle that covers the capacitive keys. Would be nice to enable the on screen nav keys, but the build prop edit to do so causes the System UI to crash. Basically you add the line
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

to the end of the build.prop and reboot. Haven't been successful with it.
Anyone else try?
Hi all,
i'm wondering : is any one hiding their navigation bar / soft keys ?
Have you found a way to make it reappear on request, such as by swiping up on screen ?
I'm a bit confused on this, I have seen some phones with Nova Launcher that allow this, others do not.
I don't know if it's related to Nova, or the phone's rom, ow what...
Any input is welcome...
