Hey GuyZ. I'm FuZZ moZr, I've recently picked up a Lg G3 Vs985. Yesterday I rooted it, and unlocked the bootloader with the bump method. After that I saw on the play store G3Tweaks. I downloaded it, and saw I needed xposed module to use it. So o went got it then it rebooted my phone after i installed it within the app. After my phone rebooted it now just sits at the verizon logo all day. I had twrp installed, but it won't let me boot into it since that happened. I have my STOCK ROM backed up so if o could just get it to boot into it I'll be good. I could restore my phone Without losing everything, and having to re-root and all that. My question is, is it possible to install twrp back onto my lg g3 via my laptop.? You know using cmd. I have adb tools, and latest drivers installed. That's how I unlocked the bootloader. Is this possible. Also I would just redo it all, but my WiFi has got throttled, and it would take FOREVER to download the stock firmware. Please someone help me. My nexus 5, note 3, HTC one, and z2 has no issues. I only had the phone for two days I really need it back on today. Plus it was my remote... Now I don't have one. .

Can you get into download mode? If so and your computer isn't seeing your phone then it is a driver issue with your computer.

When you plug in your phone right click on the "installing drivers" and tell it to stop searching windows update. It will then check your computer for the files you installed and you should be able to get it working. I ran into this myself and it took me a few minutes before i figured it out.

If you have an SD card, put the rom you want to use on it, then flash in twrp
Or you can adb sideload the rom of your choice
I ran into the same problem. Youll need to flash the phone back to untouched stock. Its in the tmobile lg g3 general forum. Just follow the instructions. Then you'll need to root and install custom recovery if you choose so.
Were you able to get G3 back to normal? I accidentally did the same thing this morning. Fortunately I still have my GS3 to hold me off until I get time to fix the LG.

The Solution Flash To Stock/Unroot

Had the same issue previously on a E980 (AT&T G Pro), and unfortunately ran into the same problem on my D851 after attempting to take an OTA. Here's a flashable of the script I found in the int'l forums.

This was a lifesaver, really didn't want to mess around flashing all the way back to stock, then restoring backup. Thanks!
Dude this worked like a charm. Too bad I didn't read about this on my last G3. I'm on my 3rd G3 in the past 6 months. Multirom is the **** but it will get you stuck if you flash the latest OTA on the stock rom.
How do you install the stock recovery. the lg flash tool doesn't work and gives me a failed message every time I try.

Can you please spare a minute to help me. As i flashed the above file but still in twrp revovery.
I am having a serious problem need help or suggestion for anyone.
While i was having proximity calibration issues while calling the sensor was delaying to everything. I tried to run a hardware test from the service menu from fulmics tweaks in fulmics rom for marshmallow. But now my device is again and again booting up in twrp recovery. I wiped everything and installed the rom again but again i think the phone is commanding the system to run a device test and its booting up twrp recovery again. Now please someone tell me what should i do. Should i flash a non stock based rom or should i flash a CM based rom or any other suggestion. Please help.
Hi guys,
I was happily running Cyanogenmod with full root (one of the nightlies from august) but I wanted to install newest nightly. I got a warning that in order to do so, you have to get newest recovery. So, I wanted to install newest TWRP. Downloaded, installed using dd but got "Boot certification verify" error. Damn, this did not work so I installed international version of Autorec instead. This proved to be a stupid rookie mistake. Installation of APK went well, AutoRec did its job but after reboot I was stuck at LG logo. I turned off the tablet but it restarted instantly just to show me the logo.
I managed to get into download mode. Now I have the tablet connected to my pc via USB cable, Download screen is happily on my tablet's screen. But I *really* would like to keep my existing files on the device and just fix my blasted kernel or whichever part got busted by AutoRec. Can this be done or do I have to flash the stock ROM?
Thanks guys. I'll go and bash my head against the wall for a moment now.
Aaahhh, noobism got the best of me today...
Never mind. Flashed stock rom. That fixed it.
[Q] Problems w/ Root & Custom Recovery on LG LS980...and I only have Ubuntu access...
First off I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 and I'm probably not as tech savvy as I should be for someone running Ubuntu. I do not have access to a Windows computer. My gf has a Macbook Air but I know she's tired of me running my phone experiments on it. Here's the problem that I'm in. I have spent hours upon hours of research and made numerous attempts at this and I just can't figure it out. I have an LG LS980 and I'm running the ZVE update (phone already had ZVE on it when I bought it). I do not have root or CWM or TWRP. I have been trying to root, install CWM or TWRP and then switch to CM 11. I originally rooted my phone, then, because of an incessant error issue (it would pop up repeatedly every second making the phone unusable) I had to factory reset. Since that factory reset I have not been able to achieve root. I have tried everything (IOROOT, STUMP, TOWELROOT) nothing. Stump says that I'm rooted but SUPERSU says I have no binary. I figured I'd just go straight to a custom recovery and then flash a rom that is already rooted. However it appears that there is no TWRP or CWM for LG LS980 without root. I just can't figure out how to get root status back and how to install a custom recovery. I'm stuck and I need help. I've read about going back to a stock ZVC and starting all over again but I don't know how to do that. I appreciate any future help from you all.
Using LG Flash Tool, you can tot back to stock, and retry rooting. There are a couple of guides floating around here, I'd look for one of them and just follow it exactly to get root and TWRP set up, then you can try your hand at a custom ROM.
Edit- Not sure if LG Flash Tool works on Ubuntu. If it doesn't or you just want to play it safe, I'd borrow a friend's laptop to run it. It's pretty quick, like 5-10 mins if I remember correctly.
Yes I have read that but does anyone know how to do that on Ubuntu?
Hello,
I have a LG G3 D855 16GB and back when Lollipop first came out I rather foolishly forced the stock version of Lollipop onto my previously rooted phone. It's never been the same since
I have trawled the web and XDA looking how I can downgrade back to Kitkat, re-root and then install a Cloudy (which I hope is better than stock). It all sounds fairly straight forward except my bootloader is locked and I cannot get into Download Mode! I've tried the button/usb cable combo, adb and even tried getting to it via the recovery menu.
Can anyone help me get my phone back to Kitkat?
I am currently running version V20f
Thank you for your help
There's got to be an easier way but have you tried using PC suite to restore upgrade errors and then hopefully you can get into download mode.

Turn off the phone, press and hold volume up button then connect the cable (make sure the cable is already connected to the pc before you plug it on your phone.) If it fails, try performing a factory reset then try again. I have the same version as yours and don't have problems downgrading to KK. I even used pc suite to upgrade to LP but the only difference is i'm not rooted when i upgraded.
Question, upon using adb as you mentioned, did you enable usb debugging?
Question number 2, why did you upgrade while rooted? why?

Don't listen to them.
You don't have to be in download mode to flash a kdz. Just turn the phone on, connect usb, start flashtool, be happy.
Don't forget to flash in CSE mode, or you will get a bootloop.
I injected root via a very famous KDZ update method proposed on XDA. Then I flashed Xposed Framework via Flashify. My device got struck in bootloop after using the device for 2 months in root. I always had some startup problem after installing Xposed via Flashify {beta}. Sometimes, it would not start but then after hour or so it would. The installation of Xposed framework itself took 10 minutes{It didn't rebooted for 10 minutes}. It was the first time I had this boot problem. I used Xposed for almost 2 months it was working amazing except those boot up issues. It was again and again re-starting on LG G4 logo. I installed stock rom via LG G4 recovery method and miraculously the device started but it again powered of after few seconds and then again same bootloop thing started. I flashed stock rom because I thought it was a bootloop but that didn't fixed the device either. Now everything in the device is factory reset. I can't really remember I ever unlocked its bootloader.
Bootloop can be fixed by re-installing firmware. But it didn't worked. So, I think it wasn't a bootloop. There was some hardware issues. I send it to LG shop they couldn't fix it either. They have send the device to company saying "Its a hardware issue". Did Flashify broke the hardware? Or its some other genuine hardware issue. Flashify ain't did any S*H*I*T*. I am asking this because I will again Flash Xposed via Flashify after I get a new device. I can't simply live without Xposed and its amazing Modules especially ads away for apps and youtube.
I followed this rooting guide. Hopefully this has no bootloader unlocking mechanism.
