Hello,
I have a LG G3 D855 16GB and back when Lollipop first came out I rather foolishly forced the stock version of Lollipop onto my previously rooted phone. It's never been the same since
I have trawled the web and XDA looking how I can downgrade back to Kitkat, re-root and then install a Cloudy (which I hope is better than stock). It all sounds fairly straight forward except my bootloader is locked and I cannot get into Download Mode! I've tried the button/usb cable combo, adb and even tried getting to it via the recovery menu.
Can anyone help me get my phone back to Kitkat?
I am currently running version V20f
Thank you for your help
There's got to be an easier way but have you tried using PC suite to restore upgrade errors and then hopefully you can get into download mode.

Turn off the phone, press and hold volume up button then connect the cable (make sure the cable is already connected to the pc before you plug it on your phone.) If it fails, try performing a factory reset then try again. I have the same version as yours and don't have problems downgrading to KK. I even used pc suite to upgrade to LP but the only difference is i'm not rooted when i upgraded.
Question, upon using adb as you mentioned, did you enable usb debugging?
Question number 2, why did you upgrade while rooted? why?

Don't listen to them.
You don't have to be in download mode to flash a kdz. Just turn the phone on, connect usb, start flashtool, be happy.
Don't forget to flash in CSE mode, or you will get a bootloop.

Can you get into download mode? If so and your computer isn't seeing your phone then it is a driver issue with your computer.

When you plug in your phone right click on the "installing drivers" and tell it to stop searching windows update. It will then check your computer for the files you installed and you should be able to get it working. I ran into this myself and it took me a few minutes before i figured it out.

If you have an SD card, put the rom you want to use on it, then flash in twrp
Or you can adb sideload the rom of your choice
I ran into the same problem. Youll need to flash the phone back to untouched stock. Its in the tmobile lg g3 general forum. Just follow the instructions. Then you'll need to root and install custom recovery if you choose so.
Were you able to get G3 back to normal? I accidentally did the same thing this morning. Fortunately I still have my GS3 to hold me off until I get time to fix the LG.

Use lg flash tool back to stock
BAD ASS G3
The Solution Flash To Stock/Unroot
I followed these instructions and worked fine when i was stuck in boot loop.

Had the same issue previously on a E980 (AT&T G Pro), and unfortunately ran into the same problem on my D851 after attempting to take an OTA. Here's a flashable of the script I found in the int'l forums.

This was a lifesaver, really didn't want to mess around flashing all the way back to stock, then restoring backup. Thanks!
Dude this worked like a charm. Too bad I didn't read about this on my last G3. I'm on my 3rd G3 in the past 6 months. Multirom is the **** but it will get you stuck if you flash the latest OTA on the stock rom.
How do you install the stock recovery. the lg flash tool doesn't work and gives me a failed message every time I try.

Can you please spare a minute to help me. As i flashed the above file but still in twrp revovery.
I am having a serious problem need help or suggestion for anyone.
While i was having proximity calibration issues while calling the sensor was delaying to everything. I tried to run a hardware test from the service menu from fulmics tweaks in fulmics rom for marshmallow. But now my device is again and again booting up in twrp recovery. I wiped everything and installed the rom again but again i think the phone is commanding the system to run a device test and its booting up twrp recovery again. Now please someone tell me what should i do. Should i flash a non stock based rom or should i flash a CM based rom or any other suggestion. Please help.
So I have an LG G Pro F240l
So essentially, because I flashed the wrong recovery (the F240k, as that's what I thought the phone was), this means I have no recovery.
I cannot root my phone, because basically the recovery doesn't exist.
I can use adb.
I can't do anything after booting other than use ADB, because "LG IMS has stopped working" will constantly appear and impede my ability to achieve anything (this occured after flashing the new lolipop update, which while it technically worked, I should have done a factory reset before doing it.
KDZ files are only the roms, I can flash those fine.
I have a 4.4 rom, and the new lolipop build in terms of those files.
I am unable to locate the tot or dll files I need for my F240l
First, removing LG IMS would make life easier, as that should theoretically fix the problem, making the OS at least useable.
Secondly, how would I go about getting myself a recovery that works (even the stock recover), and flashing it without already having a recovery?
Is there a way I can temporarily root the phone without going into recovery at all?
Please help, I'd rather not have a $160 paperweight..
Edit: I've gotten the ROM working, but I still have no way to root or install a recovery.

Make sure you have LG Suite installed and of course all the drivers. Put the phone into download mode and engage Repair Upgrade Errors in LG Suite. You should get back to stock.

I just did this, all it did was re-flashed the same rom I already had (presumeably the .kdz) file. The recovery is still missing and only showing a an android with a compartment open and a red exclamation point.

This is a wild shot in the dark, but try holding vol down, home, power.. then wait for prompt and confirm hard reset with power button. then try the lg suite "repair upgrade" again while in download mode. Hope you can sort it out.
Background Information:
I bought the LG G3 last on an AT&T Next 12 plan last July. I've unlocked the bootloader (via Bump), installed a custom recovery (TWRP), and flashed a custom ROM (CM12).
What I want to do:
Now that the OnePlus 2 is coming out, I am looking to upgrade. I can trade in the LG G3 and get a discounted rate on it, but in order to do that I would need to completely restore my LG G3 to the stock conditions that I received it in.
What I have already done:
I have already restored a backup from the original LG ROM and completely wiped the phone. I am now looking to remove the custom recovery (TWRP).
The Problem:
All of the online guides that I have looked at required me to put my phone into download mode. However, when I try to follow the steps to go into download mode, my phone won't do it. It simply starts up normally displaying LG splash screen and then after around 5 seconds just displays the current battery charge of the phone.
Is there something that I'm doing wrong or just completely missing? Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? Are there any other ways to restore the stock LG recovery?
(Basically I'm trying to hid the fact that the phone was ever unlocked/rooted from AT&T)
Thank you and I appreciate any help that I can get,
That Android Guy
Your not doing it correctly
Look at some youtube guides on how to do it and then after youve kicked it into download mode follow this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/general/guide-att-lg-g3-to-stock-t2819541
And then after that OTA your phone to Lollipop and it should be all good

Ok, so I have looked up some youtube videos and followed them exactly as shown, to no avail. I have seen in a couple of the videos comments, however, that sometimes when being plugged into a USB 3.0 port, it doesn't work, therefore requiring a USB 2.0 port. The problem is is that my laptop, the HP Omen 15 only has USB 3.0 ports. So I am stuck on what to try now...
Hello all, I just purchased a new LG V410 and decided to root it using TWRP with flashify. I've done this before with other phones with much success and followed the instructions precisely. I was able to root the tablet successfully, but when using the flashify install the TWRP custom recovery the phone rebooted into fastboot.udc and I have been stuck ever since. I can no longer go into download mode or recovery mode and when I try it comes back to the black fastboot screen with errors. I have to do a hard reset using Power and vol down just to restart the tablet, which otherwise works fine and is detected by my pc and the minimal adb fastboot command interface. However, the mobile support tool doesn't see the phone and I have downloaded drivers several times with no change in status. Please advise as I think that I may have fully bricked my tablet. Any help is appreciated.
Hold the volume up and plug in the usb to get to download mode properly, as well this http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-pad-10/general/kdz-lg-g-pad-7-0-v410-t3224867. Unbricked mine with that method. Hope that helps!
Just to let you know why it bricked and you often can't just use Flashify or anything else to merely flash TWRP anymore, its because of the locked bootloader. On other LG devices such as the VS985 G3 and the VK810 G Pad 8.3, we have to use old KitKat bootloaders (from the same device) to be able to get into TWRP. At least on the VS985, the KitKat bootloader was still locked, but it was vulnerable to a method to get around it called "BUMP", so anything that boots - kernels, TWRP etc, has to be BUMP'd in order to work, but still requires the BUMP-vulnerable bootloader.
The phone automatically started to download an update (even though it was not set to do so) and upon resetting became stuck on a black screen with the notification lights blinking blue and red. I can restart the phone but once I do so the update automatically begins to start downloading the update again; even when I put the phone into airplane mode and disable wifi. I have tried to do a factory reset but that just makes the screen go black and the blue/red notification lights start to blink
I have no installed any custom roms or the like; I just use Kingroot in an attempt to get rid of as much bloatware as possible.
Is their some way of stopping the update from running whenever I boot up the phone so that I don't need to completely wipe everything and loose all my data?
People love to get update specially in case of D850 we get an update and you want to get rid of it. Why don't you simply, first, unroot it. Then get update and enjoy the new features.
By doing so you will also get the (maybe) final update for LG G3 on your d850 variant...

I can't unroot it at this point. I can't even do factory reset. I've tried the method using the LG Flash tool and the LG PC suite but neither works.
Can you explain what actually happens when you try to unroot and go back to stock. Is there any problem with download mode or LG flash tool show some errors while returning back to stock. If yes or no please explain in details

When attempting to use LG Flash too I get "model information check fail" after hitting start and reconnecting the phone
Try doing the process on another PC. Same error also happened to me while unrooting on my windows 10 laptop. Then i tried on other windows 7 pc and it was fixed. You can try for that (if didn't),
