Sorry didn't understand what you mean I lost My Stock Rom I Installed Rom From This Site
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
From Stock Android Backup
I have Installed
3.28.401.6 - TWRP Thanks to 10rdan
now I Found The Trouble What I mentioned every time I tried To update the phone goes for Recovery Can you explain How To fix This Step by Step Please

1. Are you sure that's the correct backup ? You mentioned earlier your stock ROM is 4.4.2 which is should be 1.54.401.5 or 1.54.401.10
Post result of fastboot getvar all (delete serial no. & imei no.) to determine the correct version.
2. You need to replace the TWRP that you installed with a stock recovery.img
OTA needs stock recovery.img not TWRP.img
Can't use TWRP for OTA update, use only stock recovery

After downgraded 2.22.401.5 to 2.22.401.4 cannot install update

As the title says above...
I used One_M8_2.22.401.4_deodexed by Mike to go back to stock, but my problem is it will not install the update 2.22.401.5.
I downloaded OTA zip and tried to flash using fastboot flash zip firmware.zip successfully but it stays 2.22.401.4 after restart,I did several times but no luck.
Thanks in Advance.

How do you expect the OTA will work on a deodexed ROM which in real meaning is a custom ROM ?

Ok,even the zip file uploaded here which you flash thru RUU mode?
Thanks for enlightenment.
Maybe I should wait for the 401.5 version.
first you need to confirm what hboot version that you have now ...
the simplest is post the result of fastboot getvar all (but remove the serial no. and imei no. before you post it)
with this info, many of us here can tell you how to proceed further

Going back to stock

Just a quick question that I'm sure I know the answer to but want to double check first.
I want to return to stock firmware for OTA updates but im on ARHD 5.0 (4.4.2).
ROM version 1.54.401.5
My hboot in bootloader says HBOOT-3.16.0.000 and Radio 1.15.2133156.UA13G.
I've seen 2 guides on here for returning to stock. Can i use wither of them or is one better than the other? I dont have any nandroid or recovery backups that I did myself.

What was your original software version? Doesn't help going on ARHD's ROM version if you previously ran a Rogers Canadian version for example.
What was your CID? Software version prior to custom ROM?
More details then we can provide better help as well.

The original version would have been 4.4.2 as i bought it in June and installed ARHD pretty much straight away.
The CID is HTC_001
I havent installed any new kernals either.

Ok when I said version I meant 1.54.xxx.x etc but it's fine, HTC__001 would make it 1.54.401.5/10.
So go to the Collection thread(you posted link yourself in OP) and download the backup for the HTC__001 1.54.401.10. Restore the backup, flash back stock recovery(also available on that thread) and you're good for OTA.
Flash back stock recovery -
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
But you can also get the details on how to flash and where to unpack the backup .zip file you'll download in the first 2 posts of the collection thread. :good:

Sorry yes i was originally on 1.54.401.5 but then did an OTA to 1.154.401.10 before installing ARHD. Can I just flash the nandroid for 1.154.401.10 then and it will work?
Will I still be rooted If i restore the nandroid and stock recovery or will that depend if the uploader rooted it first? as i want root and keep unlocked bootloader but want stock firmware with OTA updates.

In general the nandroid backups aren't rooted, as they try to recover the original stock ROM. Thus you will loose root be going back to stock. I would do the following:
restore nandroid 1.54.401.10
flash 1.54.401.10 stock recovery
perform ota to 2.22.401.5
flash custom recovery (e.g. TWRP)
flash SuperSu zip
Following that way, you'll get your M8 updated to latest stock ROM and regain root.

Yoda
Thanks that's perfect

Sorry mate,
have been on vacation for a few days.
Did you try to perform the OTA before or after reflashing the custom recovery?

[Q] HTC One X Stock Recovery confusion.

Hi All
Have spent ages searching but cannot quite find my exact circumstances or the required files.
I am trying to do OTA update but it keeps failing as it is not a stock recovery.
CID is HTC__001
Current firmware is 3.14.401.31
recovery CWM 5.8.4.0
The phone detects and downloads software update 3.20.401.1 but install fails when it boots into recovery, I have tried installing the downloaded zip directly from SD card in the recovery but it still fails.
So I assume I need the stock recovery but don't know which one - have looked at the following page but nothing matches my current firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545227
I have found this guide http://www.androidauthority.com/one-x-revert-stock-recovery-76854/ but am concerned that there is no mention of CID or current firmware, just one single download.
Most grateful of any advice
Thanks
Download and flash the recovery, if it doesn't work just reflash the Cwm recovery that you're using now, can't hurt anything by trying

Have RRU for 3.14.401.31 you just can lock the bootloader and run the RUU then you will be complete stock and update to latest 4.18.401.4
you don't need exact recovery, just the general recovery for your version which is here>>>>>https://www.dropbox.com/s/2eecmiricuxv7u0/recovery.img
But to be honest do as @Thant says and just use the ruu which is available for your version and then all your problems are solved. get your ruu from here>>>>>http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Endeavor yours is at the very bottom, then follow the instructions to install it from here>>>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2104672
Thanks will give that a go. @nOtgotaclue Links much appreciated
Thanks very much chaps.
With your instructions I've got the phone back to stock with the RUU in the link and have now done OTA updates up to 4.22 / 4.18.401.4.

Personally, I would flash a near stock ROM like MaximusHD. If you go back to actual stock, and downgrade, you will get notifications for software updates all the time.

You'll need the nandroid. You won't be able to run a Kit-Kat ROM with the old firmware. Plus you won't get the updates without the older ROM. Flash them all, then take the OTAs up until 4.4.4.

No. You flash the nandroid by putting it into your TWRP backup folder, then restoring.
The firmware is flashed either through ADB/fastboot, or by renaming it to 0P6BIMG.zip, placing it onto the root of your extSD, and entering hboot.
The prompts will direct you (vol up to flash, power button to reboot.) That only will work with a firmware zip though. Not an .exe

Truthfully, I am unsure. I know what to do when you upgrade. Firmware first, then ROM (in this case nandroid). I don't know if it will really matter or not. Like I said, I am unfamiliar with reverting.
If it was me (once again, I haven't done this ~ It's just what I would try if it was me, from my thoughts about the process), I would do the opposite. Restore the nandroid first, then flash the older firmware.

Did you relock the bootloader (this is required to RUU if s-on)?
If you did, than its not the right RUU.
Restore the nandroid if available (and this should always be the first thing that is done after installing custom recovery).
Another approach, if the bootloader is still unlocked, is to put a ROM on a removable SD card (using a computer and card reader), insert into the phone, and just flash the ROM from TWRP.
What CID?
What hboot number?
S-on or s-off?
my cid is 02-001 and i tried loads of ruu's but signiture fail
relocked
hboot / 3.16.0.0000
s-on

You need to re unlock the bootloader, install proper TWRP, restore stock 1.54.206.10 backup and install its stock recovery and do OTA to the latest before you can install most of the Sense based custom ROM on XDA.
Give me a few minutes, I'll put up link to download the backup in this thread :

You can't just run any RUU. The RUU needs to match your CID. I don't think O2 has RUUs. So you can run RUUs until the world ends, and they still won't work.
Basd on that, I suggest following the previous comment to unlock the bootloader again. From there, flash TWRP, then flash a ROM or stock nandroid (either put it on a removable SD or use adb push).

It's not easy to find a ROM for hboot 3.16.0000, there are some but it's bit tricky to find one. Maybe someone else can help you with custom ROM.
I can only help with TWRP backup - and I already put up link in the thread that I gave earlier.
So it's up to you how you want it.

Try a 4.4.2 ROM (there are a couple in the Development section - but as mentioned not many). You'll have trouble with anything newer, due to outdated firmware (hboot, etc.).
