I'm still pretty confused about T-mobile's recent changes for LTE. I think (?) they are building their LTE on the 1900 band. Would my Ion flashed with the LT28I firmware be able to use T-mobile's new LTE data?

My unlocked ION LT28at works on tmobile LTE and E no 3G.
Is there an answer? Will the Sony Xperia Ion model LT28AT use LTE on T-Mobile?
For brazilians Xperia ZL, called Xperia ZQ, because uncommon LTE bands, model is C6503.

No. This FTF is untouched retail Firmware, for locked bootloaders.
What's the difference between a generic European ROM (available to download under Development thread) and this one that you are providing?
You mentioned that the frequency is different (uncommon) in Brazil, but shouldn't Band 7 LTE be the same all around the world?

According to the image, brazilians are abble to get C6503, regardless of ZL or ZQ... the important is the number of the model.
The brazilian ZQ is the C6503, wich is sold anywhere else as ZL...
Where the bands match with brazilian market (e.g. Europe and almost the rest of the world), the LTE model will be this the C6503 and HSPDA C6502.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
So it's "OK" to flash any C6503 FTF, since it's the same thing...
But I think that the update was just released to C6502 and C6506 phones, Sony says that the C6503 version is out since May 17th, but where?

I don't really know why you brought up the Arabic ROM... But anyhow, I had tried several CM10.1 ROMs and FreeXperias as well, only to find out that the speakerphone feature was missing. I absolutely need loudspeaker for work, so I had to revert back to stock. I flashed the latest generic European FTF ROM I could find here but I was having a hard time connecting to my 4G/3G/2G networks here in Brazil. Sometimes, when I'd run out of 4G coverage, the phone would completely lose service and would not switch back to 3G or 2G in order to maintain the connection on its own (idle connection), even if I selected automatic search under network settings. After I flashed the FTF file you've provided these connection problems that I just described seems to have disappeared. Another interesting detail that I've noticed is that now when I'm using my cellphone's 4G data, instead of displaying the little 4G logo, it now displays LTE. I drove around town tonight and noticed that the phone was successfully switching between networks in idle as well as during and after I placed phone calls, always returning to 4G whenever available. Thank you so much for sharing this custom built ROM for the brazilian market! I really appreciate it!

253?
I was using that ROM below, but was having a hard time connecting switching and sticking with VIVO 4G 3G and 2G correctly Xperia_ZL_C6503_10.1.A.1.434_Customized_NCB_1270-6779_R5A

Xperia ZQ:
2500/2700 MHz
Brazil dont have 700MHz for LTE, only in 2016 because that is used for analog TV
Xperia ZL(EUR/USA):
700 MHz

Yes, yes, that's pretty obvious though... That's why I have purchased the ZL C6503. It has Band 7 2500/2600MHz. It's the very same thing as the ZQ (Brazil).
That's why I asked what were the specific differences between a generic European ROM (thats came with my phone) and this one, made for the Brazilian market.
By the way, I think we're going to be getting Band 4 700MHz a lot sooner than 2016. Somewhere in between fourth quarter of 2013 and first quarter of 2014. So said a Vivo rep that I spoke to last week. Fingers crossed!

This is a lie.
2600 is the "almost" worldwide band.
700 is almost only for US.
I've posted the list of band...

Hey, be nice...! I wouldn't call him a liar, but I'd say that both of you are mistaken...
As you can see on this URL http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ the 700MHz band is mainly used in North America.
On this other URL http://developer.sonymobile.com/2013/01/24/lte-coverage-for-xperia-smartphones/ you'll find that the 2600MHz band should probably not be considered the "almost" worldwide band.
It's not just that the 2600MHz band is available in more countries. I'd say that the fact that our ZL/ZQ C6503's LTE radio has most of the bands (3, 5, 7, 8 and 20) that are available in more countries around the world that makes this a great worldwide device.

You can see on this link: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks that Apple forgot that Canada...
And u also can see that Europe and rest of the world uses 2600.
The "700" thing came with iPhone 5 owners in BR crying that 2600 sucks and the world's best freaking awesome band is 700. And it's a lie...
The only flaw of this firmware is that it's odexed. Other than that, great FTF. Would love a deodexed version, if any exists.
BTW, also waiting on .253 to be brought to ZQ. Of course we can flash the ZL version, but then it seens we'll lose 4G connectivity even if we flash only ZQ's baseband files (at least the LTE option does not appear in the list of network modes...).
For now the only band in use in Brazil is the 2500MHz

hi, i was trting to enable all LTE / WCDMA bands for moto z play,
anyone can confirm with me
1. band from "*#*#4636#*#*
and
2. network guru, needed to be rooted for checking band channel
( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qtrun.QuickTest)
information:
LHS: xt1635-02 from amazon, releu, single sim,
RHS: xt1635-02 from retail, relapac, dualsim dsds modem firmware
before modification,
1, both display same band(as the RHS phone)
2, both display USA band only
after modification,
1, relus version, show all bands and
2, relapac version remain the same,
3 both relus and relapac show aus/ japan/ euro/ usa band
as I am from hongkong, I can only confirm band(3/7/8 /40) is working fine.
sure I can share the step for unlocking if the software band "unlock" is success,
thank you so much
This is super useful information/trick if it works. I don't have a Z Play (planning to get one), but can anybody who has one help?

I don't really understand most of this, but I have the xt1635-02 with dual sim and I can confirm that in the US I have personally used band 4 and band 12. I checked with the LTE Discovery app.
