ONLY FLASH THESE RADIOS IF YOU ARE USING A MODEL
T999, T999L, T999N or T999V DEVICE!!!!!
ONLY FLASH EACH MODEM TO THE DEVICE IT BELONGS TO!!!!
CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!!!!
DISCLAIMER:
Flashing radios on your phone should not be done if you do not understand what the modem/radio is! Yes, it is a simple flash, BUT, if you do mess it up somehow, it can at best prevent you from obtaining a signal, and at worst possibly brick your device!!! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE INDICATED MODEL DEVICE, DO NOT FLASH!!!!! If you have a different device or are with a different carrier (such as Sprint, AT&T, etc) T-Mobile radios are NOT likely to work. It has been mentioned by just a few users that you can in fact safely flash these to other US Variants without bricking your phone, but it probably will have no connection.
IF YOURS IS AN INTERNATIONAL MODEL GALAXY S3 (I9300/I9305) YOU MAY BRICK IT IF YOU FLASH ANY OF THESE!!!
I have tested each T999 modem on my own device with no issues, however, you flash at your own risk! The others should be perfectly safe for their respective models. I have never been told of any problems with them in the past!
Individual Releases
All modems are flashable from within TWRP or CWM Recovery
They are listed beginning with the latest release at the top of each models section.
T999 Modems
These modems are ONLY compatible with the T999!

These modems are ONLY compatible with the T999V!
Note about these Canadian Variants: All three carriers (Wind, Mobilicity, Videotron) phones have an identical Build and Baseband. Because of this I would say the modems are likely all the same, and so the Wind modem should work on the other two carriers and vice versa. I have no way to verify this so I will err on the side of caution and continue to offer all three. If you do use one carriers modem on any other carrier, I make no guarantees that it will work. (But please let me know of any success or failure if you do give it a shot).

Team Sonic - Modem Flasher For All {Out-Of-Date}
clark44 has ported over his Modem Flasher from the Sprint Galaxy S3 variant. This is really an awesome tool and can make flashing and testing these radios super easy! You only have one file to keep track of rather than the many individual ones below! It uses the aroma installer which allows you to pick which modem you want to install. This is great for testing to find your "best" modem! Huge thanks to clark for putting in the time and effort to port it over for us! I have considered taking over and updating it, but have not decided for sure yet as we would probably need 3 or 4 versions due to the other variants and sheer number of modems available.
Flash the tool from TWRP or CWM Recovery.

T-Mobile GS3 Modem Map
A Public Map to track which modems work best in a given area!
No longer do you have to ask, "Whats the best modem in my area?"
Just click the link below the title and enter your location in the Google search box to see if anyone close by has entered their results!
Don't see any posted information close by? Then please run some tests of your own and help everyone out by entering your results.
I encourage everyone to run their own tests and to please share your findings. Even if there are already 3 or 4 entries for a location, please take some time to add to the map. The more tests/results posted in an area, the more reliable the map becomes!
I suggest that everyone use the SpeedTest.net app by Ookla from the Google Play Store. If you use another method, please mention it in the map information you post.
*I got this idea from meleii of the AT&T forums. Thanks to him for the idea and allowing me to copy it for use here! If you see him, Thank Him!
*Thanks to vnguyen972 for getting the map set up for us so quickly. Thank him too!
INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure you are logged into your Google account
Click the link below the title, or click HERE to open the map.
Enter your City, State and Zip in the search box. (I recommend also entering a nearby intersection to produce more accurate results)
Click on the Map Marker
Click Save to Map
Select TMobile GS3 Modem in the drop down box and click Save
Now click on your location in the panel on the left.
Please use your City, State and Zip for the title.
Enter your information into the description, then Save!
Should look something like this:
DocHoliday77
UVLI6
XquiziT v70, UVALH2, Stock Kernel (ROM, Build, Kernel)
Ping: 146-733
8-13 / 1-3 (Down / Up)
If you care to go a step further, the following would also be helpful:
Any related build.prop tweaks (More information to come later)
Any other info you feel is relavent
Of course, everything is optional. You don't HAVE to use the above format, but I think if everyone does, it will make it much easier to read.
Remember, the more data we collect, the more reliable it becomes! You are, of course, more than welcome to enter test results for more than one area. (Home, Work, Wherever you want!)
Sometimes when you search for just your City, State and ZipCode, the map marker can still be a number of miles away from where you are. If you also enter a nearby intersection you can get the Marker closer to you. I don't recommend having it point at your house!
NOTE:
If you want to help or encourage people to find and take part in this project, Please link them to this page/post rather than posting links directly to the map all over the place. This should help keep all related questions and comments here, and help prevent a bunch of extra threads which will needlessly clutter up the forums!
Thanks in advance to all who choose to participate!!!

Data Speeds! build.prop Tweaks and More!
Tips and Tweaks
In this post you will find tweaks, edits and anything else which may have an affect on your data speed.
This being the Baseband/Modem/Radio thread, I only plan to include those tips which are related to your data connection.
In the future I may start a new thread with lots more information on everything else!
build.prop tweaks
In this section you will find different entries which can be changed or added/removed to your build.prop, located at /system/build.prop. I will do my best to define and describe what each entry does and the available values you have to choose from.
First a little general info about the build.prop file.
During boot, the system reads the build.prop from top to bottom. This means that if you have duplicate entries, the last one read will be the one applied. In this case you may feel free to delete any duplicates to clean it up a little.
You must leave a blank line at the very end of the file. Otherwise it will not be read.
When experimenting with different values, it can be handy to comment out the original and leave it there as a backup and reference. To comment out an entry, simply put # at the beginning of the line. Anything on that line after the # will not be read by the system. This is a good way to leave a quick note for yourself if needed.
If you see an entry here, but it is not in your build.prop, you can just add it in. If it is already in your file, just edit the value.
IMPORTANT!!! Make a copy of your original before you edit anything!!! Stop Here and put a copy of your build.prop on your EXTERNAL sdcard!
There are certain lines in this file which, if incorrectly edited, can cause your system to not boot. Don't Panic! Got your Towel?? Good! All you have to do is copy your backed up original back to /system/
How? Easy! Just reboot into recovery (I am assuming that if you are editing your build.prop you also have TWRP or CWM installed). Once in recovery mount your system partition if it is not already done. Now, using the built-in file browser, rename your edited build.prop and copy the original back to /system/
Reboot! (I know for a fact that the file browser is built into TWRP. I am assuming it is the same with CWM. If it is not, let me know and I will post another easy solution for you.)
==================================================================================================================
OK, I think we have covered the important pre-edit stuff!
I will start with just a few to get this going, and I will try to continue building on it until I run out of information.
I will be adding more to the list soon! (I will also probably play with the format a bit to try making all of this easier to read)
And Now......The build.prop tweaks!
Default
ro.ril.hsxpa=1
ro.ril.gprsclass=10
Usually recommended
ro.ril.hsxpa=3
ro.ril.gprsclass=12
The radio in our phone has the following capabilities:
HSDPA Category 24 (42.2 Mbps)
HSUPA Category 8 (11Mbps)
GPRS Class 12 (?) (4 Downlink Timeslots, 4 Uplink Timeslots, with 5 Timeslots simultaneously active) (It may be capable of a higher class, but I am not sure at this time)
64QAM (wave modulation)
T-Mobile's networks support the following:
HSPA+42 supports HSDPA Cat 24, and HSUPA Cat 6
HSPA+21 supports HSDPA Cat 14, and HSUPA Cat 6
HSPA+ (will verify later) (believe D=10, U=5)
HSPA (will verify later) (believe D=8, U=5)
The ro.ril.xxxx properties are used to define the target network.
So if you are in an area that has HSPA+42, you should try these values:
ro.ril.hsxpa=3
ro.ril.hsdpa=24
ro.ril.hsupa=6
For areas with HSPA+21, try these:
ro.ril.hsxpa=3
ro.ril.hsdpa=14
ro.ril.hsupa=6
Check the HSPA+42 Fact Sheet to see if your area has been upgraded yet!
ro.ril.hsxpa defines the target networks available technology. (I have not found anywhere to verify for sure, so this is from others definitions and my own reading)
0 = 3gpp Release UMTS r99
1 = HSDPA
2 = HSDPA/HSUPA
3 = DC-HSPA (HSPA+)
4 = ?? (Maybe LTE related, or HSPA+42?, testing needed)
5 = ?? (May not even be defined yet, but likely related to LTE)
ro.ril.gprsclass defines the GPRS MultiSlot Class to be used on the target network.
10 = Slower Uplink, ?Uses Less Battery?
12 = Faster Uplink, ?Uses More Battery?
If we can verify that my theory for these is correct, I will post the HSPA+, and HSPA values as well. But you should be able to figure those out on your own.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL AVAILABLE VALUES
ro.ril.hsxpa=0-3
(I have seen 4 and 5 used, but cannot confirm they are really defined values, likely LTE related if they are)
ro.ril.gprsclass=1-12 and 30-34
(I have seen and used ones in between in the past, but they are no longer listed)
CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO
ro.ril.hsupa=1-9
(10-12 may be defined at this point, but I could not verify this)
CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO
ro.ril.hsdpa=1-16 and 19-36
CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO
ro.ril.enable.dtm=0,1
DTM = Dual Transfer Mode -- EDGE ONLY --This defines whether or not the target network supports simultaneous transfer of both voice and data. Likely not needed at all.
ro.ril.hep=0,1
(??? I have seen this used in many places, but have never been able to verify its use) Likely not needed.
ro.ril.enable.a51=0,1 Weak, hackable encryption used to provide privacy for voice communications. Not needed.
ro.ril.enable.a53=0,1 Weak, hackable encryption used to provide privacy for voice communications. Not needed.
***These both are weak and have been easily hacked. I would imagine it would serve only to slow things down a little. Of course, there is the argument that some is better than none! I leave it up to you to decide for yourselves.
As far as I can tell, the ONLY real tweaks you need to make for now are HSXPA, HSDPA, HSUPA, GPRSCLASS. I am aware there are others that can be added as well, but I have not done the research or testing yet and would like to nail these down first! Any help/feedback is appreciated!

Speedtest.net Alternatives
I personally do not find the SpeedTest.net app to be very reliable or indicative of real world speeds. You can choose different servers and get wildly different results. However, as with most benchmarks, so long as you are being consistent with your use, the data can still prove useful. This is why I still recommend using only that app for posting your results to the Map.
Your results can be heavily impacted by traffic, server choice, distance, routing, etc. I have had terrible speedtest results, only to turn around and download a large file super quick! So remember, no matter what you use, these tests will not give you a very accurate reading into what you can expect with real-world use.
Below you will find listed some alternative websites where you can test the speed of your connection. I am listing them here so that you can possibly find a better testing alternative to use for your own results. If you use any of these or know of others, please share your experience and maybe we can find something better and more consistent for everyone to use!

Hey guys, I saw something pretty cool on the AT&T forums.
In their modem thread by meleii he has set up a public map in google maps where their users can enter their location and enter information about which is the best performing modem in their area.
I have seen a lot of people asking what modem is best where they are, and this may be a good way to figure all of that out. Provided enough of you would be willing to perform honest testing and enter your results on the map that is.
Ive never used public maps, but am willing to learn and implement if this is something you guys would like to see.
(As if I dont already know the answer to that!) Anyway, if you have any feedback or pointers or anything else to add please feel free to do so!

I live in Bucks county- still testing the newest ones out. I will report back in a few days. The modem flasher is awesome as it allows you to quickly change without too much of a hassle. SO far the latest leak (UVLI5) is the best for me followed by UVLG1. I am still running some tests on the latest leak though.

Instruction copied from the ATT thread:
Please click the above URL and follow these steps to add yourself to the map:
Use the search box to locate your city, state, and country.
On the marker that appears, you’ll see a link that says*’Save to My*Maps‘*within the bubble.
Click the link and select the*TMobile S3 Modem.
Put your name as the title for the marker, and within the bubble provide whatever info you’d like
Thanks man! Awesome!
Ill add this to OP later this evening when im at my 'puter!
Now lets hope enough people use it to make a difference!
Haven't had time to keep up and thoroughly test them all yet, but I will definitely be adding to the map soon!
Thanks again for getting that done! :thumbup::thumbup:

It's best to use your computer to add your location on the map. Google needs to figure a way to make the Site a little more phone friendly.

I just tried all 9 modems, so I kept UVLI4 that works better for me. I also put it on the map
I still cannot figure out how to add my location to google maps. I read the post above me and I still do not understand where the "map link" is. I was able to install the modem flasher and I got the latest modem flashed without any problems. Im just confused about the google maps part of it. Any help would be sweet..thanks

Nice. Hopefully the next OTA gets rid of the nasty bugs (play service drain, gestures, wifi, etc)
Nice to see the official Cyanogen XDA account. Doesn't this belong in development though?
Because CyanogenMod 11S is a special, closed build, this thread doesn't belong in the Development section. A second thread, for OSS builds, is incoming in Development

Does this mean we are going to get "beta" builds of 11S quicker and not have to wait for OTA? That would be awesome to have quicker updates to the software.
We really need a OTA updade to 4.4.4 and bug fix.
Excellent. Really miss 11s hopefully this gives us early 11s builds (maybe even 11s Nightlies?) to be flashed to us who know how to flash. Excited
I've done the installation using TWRP, performing a full wipe and, after I've installed the zip.
Is necessary to perferm all of the fastboot command that I've read or, they are necessary only without twrp?
Thanks in advance.
Can we please have more regular OTA updates please.......CM11S feels very buggy......
CyanogenMod updater is telling me I have an unsupported device. I am rooted without unlocking the bootloader and was on franco's kernel, but flashed boot.img from the link in this thread.
I go past the warning, but the updater on my computer won't find the phone.
Any ideas?

Wanted fixes:
Call volume
Vibration intensity/customization
Torch gesture toning down because its on in my pocket
and try to work your magic to make the yellow band less apparant (ill keep dreaming)
Multi touch issues when grounded needs fixing.
Typing improvements and Ghost swipes
All in all though excellent stuff, id also like to see the option to add/remove extra icons on the homescreen/dock.
Any ideas about why doesn't the OTA update work for me ? I've got a chinese OPO with CM11S flashed. It's XNPH22R. When I try to update it via OTA or via recovery I get this message "Error executing updater binary in zip". I checked the build.prop file and I've got the right device name. Tried to update OTA even unrooted.

Because you have a different version of the hardware. You'll have to flash manually per the OP. I don't know if flashing the modem is a problem since yours is probably different.
I bought a Chinese opo so u saying people who bought a Chinese opo can't update it thru OTA mine came with cm11s on it I got XNPH25R updated wen I turned it on

For me the biggest issue is the low call volume, especially when on speakerphone. It is barely louder with speakerphone on vs. off. I know the speakers can be very robust, You Tube, music, etc. are plenty loud. Even playing my voice mails through my GV app is loud. I have always like CM and plan on running the stock ROM for some time before rooting and doing something different. I'm just getting impatient waiting knowing the latest build is out there based on last weeks CM11 release.
im having big trouble with this. It says

sending 'modem' (56241 KB)...

writing 'modem'...

I tried to get some info from Dalvik Debug Monitor but I got nothing. I suspect driver problem….Anyone have any idea?

Got my Oneplus One yesterday. Very pleased so far, great device. Is there any kind of rhythm we are getting CM11S OTA updates linke the regular CM11 Snapshot monthly updates?
CM11S Nightlies would be the icing on the cake!
1st = I am not a Programmer, not a Developer, nor a Modder... I just love my ANDROID DEVICE's... these roms will not get updated, they are STOCK ODEX Rom's not ALTERED except for renaming the KNOX files by adding the extension .ori so they would not run, I did not delete any files from these ROM's.
2nd = How to install the rom, JUST go to RECOVERY, ( I use TWRP RECOVERY ), Always make a backup 1st.. These Roms don't wipe ur Data, so if you don't wipe Data you might have some issues, - that being said - wipe SYSTEM, DATA, CACHE, DALVIK CACHE 3 times, then flash the rom, SIT BACK and wait a few minutes, THEN ENJOY...
3rd = Don't hold me responsible, if your phone blows up, or for whatever other damages u do to ur phone, flash at your own risk...
**************************************************
I made these Rom's for my personal use, and thought I would share for others that want STOCK ODEX Rom's, these Rom's are not rooted.
If you want the ROM rooted, goto Chainfire and download the newest SU available, after flashing the ROM, flash SU, reboot the phone, goto the Playstore and then install BusyBox, from Steriscon.
**************************************************
before posting theses Rom's I test them out, so they have no issues or problems...
Anyone can use these ROM's as a base for there own, all I ask is - if you share any of these ROM's, give proper credit to me, mdiaz33685...

I hope the recovery file in /etc was removed or it will mean restoring to stock, do not pass go. Typically, it means it doesn't include the su binary and a whitelist app.

I did not root the rom's, they are STOCK ODEX ROM's... I only uploaded the With Knox rom, absolutely nothing done to it, flash in TWRP,
I have not had the chance to fix the other roms, one With No Knox, then another with Tethering Fix,
just got home, and need to get up at 4am, I will try to get a chance to fix the other 2 versions for 2morrow night.
to root the rom, install SU from Chainfire then Install Busybox from stericson.

I did the stock odex roms for 2 days, I did test them out, they are working, but ran into the fingerprint scanner issue....
but just got back from the tmobile with a brand new black note 4.. im not gonna root for right now... this fingerprint scanner issue needs to be addressed better. I want the fingerprint scanner working, that is one of the reasons I changed to the Note 4...
I will upload the roms later tonight.
Rooted my phone 2 days ago, and using my stock odex rom with tether mod, it working great with no problems... fingerprint scanner is working fine also, I deleted any stored fingerprints when testing other roms.. works without issues.

fastboot.exe flash recovery [Path File]/Stock-RecoveryRMX1971EX_11_A.13.img
fastboot.exe flash vbmeta [Path File]/Stock-vbmeta-RMX1971EX_11_A.13.img
@faisalxp.
The Vbmetas from all Realme 5 pro and Q's ColorOS OZIPS are the same, them don't change, so you could link only one VBmeta for all of them, see attachment.
Something that I don't know is how obtain the recovery.img and the system.img, do you know how?

Ok, you are right, my mistake was looking in the directly extracted VBmetas from stock Ozips, now, having read you I understand that the VBmetas 7zip extracts from the Ozips are maybe the base for them, not the complete ones. I need to make more analysis but seems to be that the VBmetas from the different Realme Q FW versions are the same and the ones from the R5pro are the same for it too. So, maybe are the same for variant versions but diferent between Q and R5pro.
One thing is sure, the two VBmetas that you linked in OP are exactly the same, bit-identical, so it is not necessary to link both.
Another thing is that the FW for the Indonesian, India, Europe, and Rusia's Realme 5 Pros you linked are the same so maybe it would be a best practice to mention all of them with only one download link to not give users a false idea that they are different.
I bought my phone in India so I presume that it is indian variant. First installed TWRP and LOS and everything was ok. Then tried with magisk but got ERROR 1 cannot mount system. So I taught that maybe flashing the latest firmware will change something. So I flashed firmware. And brick. I attach photos. Please kindly help me

If fw is the same for all of rm5p devices by region then why is that only Europe version supports B3, B7 and B20 lte bands? It means either vendor or vendor + modem.img differ somehow from other rm5p regional firmware like India or Indonesia.

Sory for late replay. Maybe your phone now is Fine.
About your attachment i cant view it, must register so i answer you question base on explaination.
About Error on Flash Magisk because Partition System On Tick in Menu Mount, so you need to make sure untick it before Install Magisk.
About Brick, make sure you flash vbmeta before flash TWRP or Before install Magisk. if not doing it you cant get info Bootdestroy after reboot.
Command Flash
Code:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
If you now on Brick, try flash Stock Recovery and install Stock Firmware on it or you can flash Latest TWRP with support Flash .OZIP (File Stock Firmware). If not Work try Factory Reset / WIPE DATA.

Sory for late Replay.
About Vbmeta, thanks for info coz idk if that same version, i thinks different build firmware will make different vbmeta to because i just backup it after upgrade firmware, so thanks for suggestion but i still make different link and version, maybe can usefully for some member.
About Same Firmware on different Region, i thinks thats not true, because different country / region have different driver and config hardware and same with software to. So i think better performace and experience on realme 5 pro must install firmware each country / region.
Is it necessary to wipe data (include system, vendor, cache, data in twrp) before flashing ozip in twrp and flashing an .img file (system, boot, recovery, vbmeta) separately on the bootloader?
Because now I'm in custom rom, and i don't want to brick my device if i want go back to stock.
If you just need not brick and want to backup data / app just flash it but maybe its not clean and probably can brick or unstable system. I Recommend and for best result you must wipe all system, vendor, cache, boot and recovery before flash it.
Why file ozip not appear on stock recovery?
try use latest recovery Unofficial-TWRP-20191121.img
Is there any global version stock rom that can support realme Q and flash through the recovery itself? I really want to get rid of this Chinese rom [Noobie]
If my Rm5P's bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed,can I flash ROMs and other zips using this TWRP instead of Fastboot?

No, because the partition size is different and there may be different hardware and software configurations that don't support Realme Q ... I suggest you use Custom ROM, although there are still some bugs.
