I was making a TWRP Backup when all of the sudden my phone just randomly turns off. I grabed my phone and it was really hot. Tried turning it on, but nothing happened. Then I connected it to the ac adapter and it turned on, but it would go to the LG logo, the screen turns black then it restarts. This does not stop unless I unplug it. I had previously made two backups before and nothing like this happened, but this time I enabled conpression<-------- This must have been what caused this. All I want to know is if this can be fixed or not. If it could be fixed I would be so happy if somone could tell me how to fix this. THANK YOU. P.S. THIS PHONE IS A BEAST. D

Likely bricked. Do you have flashing notification and capacitive lights? Have you LGNPST'd? If yes to both of those questions, you're in the same predicament as I was and hopefully you have insurance, because your phone is fried.

Sprint's policy on root is to document it but not do anything about it, so they would swap it. If you're worried, I can help you restore stock firmware.

Because your phone doesn't know if it needs to be in charging mode or booting. Pulling battery will fix it.

I had a similar problem as you. Upon getting the phone I rooted and used the FreeGee app from the Google Play store to unlock the bootloader. Everything seemed fine and dandy, until one day when I let my phone's battery drain completely. Pluggin it in to a wall charger resulted in the failed boot where the LG logo flashes before going to a blank, but backlit screen. Luckily, the first few times this happened, through a combination of quickly plugging and unplugging the usb cord and holding the volume up+power button, I could get it into recovery (TWRP). Then a simple cache & dalvik cache wipe, and the phone would boot up as if nothing ever happened. Very strange.
Well yesterday this happened again, however, this time there was no getting the phone into recovery. My previous methods of button mashing and plugging and unplugging weren't working. So, I decided to bite the bullet and use LGNPST to get back to ZV7. Now, like you mentioned, this failed boot would automatically happen, without pressing the power button to turn it on. So it was difficult to get the phone to stay off. I found that with the phone unplugged, if you continue to press the power button until the blank backlit screen turns off, AND continue to hold the power button for an additional five seconds, the phone would stay off and not auto power on into the failed boot.
Once I was able to get the phone to stay off, I pressed the middle of the volume key to depress both volume up and down, and then plugged a usb cord that was attached to my computer. This powered on the phone into download mode. Following the LGNPST guide I was able to get to around 67% complete before my phone turned off and an error message flashed on the computer screen telling me to power cycle the phone and reconnect. Well, the whole 67%/85% LGNPST failure is apparently common and not indicative of an actual failure; HOWEVER, my phone became completely unresponsive. It wouldn't power on at all. It didn't matter if the usb was unplugged or connected to the computer or wall charger. So, I was forced to unplug the battery. I followed this tutorial and successfully disconnected and reconnected the battery cord, and the phone shot back to life. It even booted up into the factory stock ZV7 rom. I guess that LGNPST was successful. It looked like I was on my way to returning my phone to breezy's deodexed ZV9 stock rom that I was previously running.
I went ahead and re-rooted, ran the FreeGee app again, and rebooted into recovery. Then I made a backup and attempted to flash my new rom. Now, I think this is where I royally screwed up. I was pleasantly surprised to see my screen layout and all of my settings still intact after LGNPST back to ZV7 and thought I could just wipe the caches and ignore the factory reset and system wipe before flashing. Perhaps it was this, but part of me also thinks there might be something wrong with my battery draining extremely fast in recovery.
I proceeded to flash and all seemed good, but rebooting resulted in the LG logo failed boot that we have already discussed. So, I went ahead and repeated the LGNPST-re-root process numerous times (switching to the freegee 0.5 batch file instead of the app). Everytime after the first initial restore, I could never get my phone to enter recovery. As soon as I rebooted after using freegee, the phone would be soft bricked again. Sometimes I would get the LG logo thing, other times I would get the dreaded alternating flashing red notification light and soft keys. A battery pull was usually required in these circumstances before I could get back into download mode to start all over.
I was about ready to give up when I took to the LGOG irc channel. That's when Xboxfanj stepped in and helped me out IMMENSELY. Over the course of several hours, he walked me through flashing some partitions in ADB. At times it seemed like there was no hope and that I should have just returned the phone, but he failed to acquiesce, we pushed forth trying a couple of other bootloader options. The new bootloader appeared to have fixed the phones erratic behavior with powering on and off, but I had no rom to boot into and no recovery. Xboxfanj recommended using fastboot to flash over a recovery. Once in the new bootloader screen my Windows XP machine detected new hardware and wanted some drivers. I attempted to use the [ADB/FB/APX Driver] Universal Naked Driver 0.72, but XP indicated that I was missing 'winusbcoinstaller2.dll'.
I grabbed winusbcoinstaller2.dll from here and all was good. Fastboot recognized the phone, I was able to flash recovery and subsequently boot into recovery. From there I reformatted the system, wiped data/factory restore, wiped cache, wiped dalvik cache, and flashed breezy's ZV9 deodexed rom.
Fortunately, after around 7 hours, I am happy to say my phone is back to being rooted, unlocked, and running ZV9. It powers on and off properly and can get into recovery without a hitch. I'm still curious what will happen if I let my battery drain completely. Perhaps I'll try it some time this week. I'll be sure to post back here if/when I do that. All in all, it was a harrowing, but educational experience.
Anyway, just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Xboxfanj! You really are the man :good:. Thanks for your patience and determination.
So I wanted to install a new custom ROM and I all ready had one. It wasn't the first time. So, like usual I download the files needed and put them on my phone, boot into recovery and flash them ( but I didn't factory reset or anything because with the ROM I had I didn't need to for it to work I could just fix the not responding errors) Then i go to reboot and I wait. Nothing, nothing at all. Now I try to remove the battery and try again and now none of my buttons do ANYTHING the only sign of life there is, is when I remove the battery and plug my phone to a usb cable and attempt to charge it, all that happens is a red LED comes up. It's probably due to one of the things i installed on my phone that flashes a red LED when battery is low. Please help me with this. My last resort is to give my phone to rogers for them to fix it because I still have a warranty.
Specs: S3 i1747M Rogers
I had aokp jellybean 4.3 as my ROM
I do have a nandroid but its on my phone's sd card

No there's litteraly nothing I can do. pressing all the buttons does absolutely nothing. Just stays black and no signs of life

Not sure exactly what you did but I hate to say its sounds hard bricked. Mine was exactly the same, with only the red light coming on for about a minute when cord was plugged in with no battery. I screwed mine up with a file I grabbed without reading properly what it was for and in my haste I installed it. After I rebooted it never came back until I got it back from warranty with a replaced control board. Im guessing they didnt even check the internal memory or they would haven known what a dumbass i was since i voided the warranty doing stuff i had done before that mistake. Glad I had made a nandroid before i pooched it so i didnt lose anything after i got it back.
Yeah after some research I found out I hardbricked it but this isn't the first time and I had a warranty for both( different phones btw )times so I guess I'll just send it out. :c
could just be out of juice, leave it on the charger for around an hour then try and go into download mode.
I have been using my n2 for 1 year. but, I found my note 2 not turning on two days back. I just kept it fully charged and the next morning its not turning on. It was first stuck on the boot logo. then, I pulled the battery out and try to factory reset from stock recovery. but, I couldn't enter. then I tried installing the stock rom via odin. but, no luck. my android version was 4.1. can anyone tell me where is the problem and how I can solve?
oh one thing, now its not even turning on. just going to download mode. if I connect it to charger a battery icon shows up with a refresh circle on middle.
Sorry for hear that, mine have died on Sunday night u_u after flashing Agni kernel but I don't think the fault was for the kernel, the days before flashing it was already showing an erratic behavior like freezing and rebooting by it self. I thought it was because an undervolt or something like that (some custom roms do it) so i tried changing the kernel =( to see how it will die.
I took my phone to an external service center on yesterday morning (It doesn't have warranty anymore), and there they used Riffbox and Jtag to trying come back to life  and it worked for a couple of hours. They told me it had the bootloader bricked. I have my doubts because I have not even touched the bootloader just once when I rooted it after bought It (if it was touched after it, should be on an update or custom rom flashing, I don't know).
But last night was died again, so I started to search on web and I found this SDS, all the stuff described are the same that my phone suffered (but It was on 4.3 Ditto Note 3 soooo I though it was already solved since 4.1.2).
Is very sad but now I'm going back to the Service Center to tell them what I found. Maybe they will need to change the emmc or the motherboard =S I hope it doesn't cost a lot.u_u
Whatever, maybe yours one can have the bootloader broken, because yours turn on into download, mine doesn't turn on to recovery/samsung logo/download. Perhaps you can have luck and a chip solution just trying to flash another bootloader with odin and if you can get back working your Android, don't forget to download the "emmc check" app from playstore. It will give you any clue about this, if it says your emmc is vulnerable you will need to do the same as me changing emmc or motherboard but if you have luck and says it is not a bad batch you will no have problems again just flashing a good bootloader.

U should have done factory reset by stock recovery and bring binary count to 0 by that. I had same problm. Went to service centre there they told to replace motherboard which was almost costing very high. Luckily I had made everything on phone normal before going to service centre so I had done all in warranty《free》

Sorry to hear that, but they told you nonsense. If it's really SDS they have to repair for free. Ask a friend in your country who is envolved in legal things, a lawyer best.
One in general: As long as one can start eg. download mode, it is no SDS, mostly a software prob.
Hello, I need help with my G3 verizon model. The problem is that my phone restarts itself but just when I try to flash any rom, zip, etc. I was using it when it first shut down, that was today, I tried to turn it on, and it went to the logo and restarted, so I went into recovery mode (TWRP) and triend to make a clean Fulmics install (my current rom when the issue happened was AICP lastest version), but the problem is that if I try to flash ANYTHING, the phone just shuts down.
I don't know what to do, I tried to flash it via download mode with lg flash tool and the same, I go into download mode, I plug the phone and start de process but it shuts down before starting any flash.

Sounds like a bad battery. Have you tried a new one yet?
*If you live in Murica you can get a genuine replacement from LG for $15:good:... http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phone-batteries
*Anker also makes a decent replacement as well.
Good luck :fingers-crossed:

Hi there,
I've been exactly there with my H815. I have tried numerous solutions, but to no avail. On your reddit post I saw that you tried the recovery key combination and ended up in download mode again? Did this happen, after you pressed a button? With my phone, when the LG factory reset screen appeared and I confirmed twice, a long time nothing happened. After a couple of minutes the Android recovery (not TWRP) screen appeared. Maybe you'll have a chance to get your phone recognized via adb sideload or sth. Or start fastboot mode. Maybe you can reflash TWRP? But if you are facing the same problems as me, it probably won't help you.
For me, I ended up sending my phone to LG, despite the fact that the warranty was void. They changed the mainboard and never said anything about repair fees and apparently the phone is on it's way back to me as I write. I hope it arrives tomorrow and I can let you know.
Hang in there! :fingers-crossed:

I cannot give you any guarantees, as I am not associated with any LG support haha. Technically, I am still on warranty, but as I also unlocked the bootloader, installed Custom ROMs etc... the warranty would be void anyway.
I got a reply from LG support that i should send it to their repair shop (some shop in Germany) and they would reply with an estimate of the repair costs. Now, all I got is the tracking number, the phone's on its way home and they did not charge me at all (as of yet). So you could be lucky, but you very well may not be.
I'd say, take your chances and contact LG support, send it in. If they want to charge you a huge amount of money, they can still send it back to you unrepaired and you might be able to fix it yourself. In any case, I wish you the best of luck!

the thing is after you have flashed TWRP you HAVE to boot directly to TWRP afterwards. otherwise it gets overwritten.
You can also setup SALT and depending on what your current firmware is you can flash TWRP with SALT too.
For that IRC is much better though http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=carbonfusion-user

Hi,
A belated little update. My phone has found its way back to me and is working perfectly again. The main board had some dysfunction, it was exchanged.
LG didn't charge me a dime, so I can't complain. Flashed LOS 14.1 just now and everything is running smoothly. Hope you had some luck with your phone as well?
Cheers
Ok I tried everything with salt, with the motherboard ! Last thing I can do is to contact the support ... Waiting their answer and i'll tell you the feedback
