[Q] HTC One M8 T-mobile - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

Hi Friends...I need you help Urgently.
I have a T-mobile Unlocked HTC One M8 which I am using on my AT&T Sim card. I would like to remove the entire T-mobile software and would like my phone to have exactly the same software that come with a Factory unlocked phone from HTC.COM. Is it possible? If yes, please provide me step by step instructions on how to achieve it. Current S/W number is 3.32.531.2 Android 4.4.4. Also, T-mobile has blacklisted the IMEI but its working fine on AT&T. (got burnt on craiglist).
OR (if above is not possible)
Can it be converted to a AT&T Phone?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Can't you just install Google play edition rom or custom rom. There is numerous threads on steps.

[Q] M8 DUAL SIM no LTE

Hi,
I have an international (EMEA, model 0P6B640) HTC One M8 Dual Sim which runs on Lollipop, and is unlocked (bought from a shop, no network/carrier). I just moved back to the USA, to find that the 4G-LTE does not work as this phone does not have bands 2, 4, or 17 unlocked. I wish to unlock them so that I can get a T Mobile or ATT sim card.
I know from reading these boards (thanks guys!) that this should be possible as it is a software issue, and that there is a list of things I need to do like root, S-off, super cim, and then flash the appropriate rom. I can follow clear, explicit instructions just fine, but am not very phone-savvy, and have no idea where to find the files I need or exactly how to do these things.
If anyone could help me out with what I need to do and the order to do it in, I would really appreciate it.

[Q] Which ROM for an Unlocked HTC M8 branded Verizon, running on MetroPCS carrier??

Haven't received a reply, so I'm updating my question with some new information.
I used Sunshine & am now rooted & s-off.
However, I still don't know what ROM I'm supposed to use:
- My HTC One M8 is a branded Verizon phone, but I've been running it successfully on MetroPCS
SO:
- Do I use a T-Mobile ROM (MetroPCS was purchased by TM and I believe my LTE & 4G comes from TM network)?
- Do I use a Verizon ROM?
Thank you in advance,
Hello,
I purchased an unlocked HTC M8 branded Verizon and have successfully been using it on MetroPCS' LTE network.
I'm considering a different ROM in order to:
- Remove all the Verizon bloatware
- Get as close to Android as possible (I'm dependent upon all the Google apps, gmail, hangouts, calendar, etc.)
- Hopefully get a working FM Radio
From all the threads/replies, I still have not been able to figure out which ROM I'm supposed to use:
- Since my phone is Verizon branded HTC M8, do I have to use ROMs developed for Verizon?
- Which ROM would get me closest to my goals?
Thank you,

Answers to my question
Okay, here's what I had to do to get my Verizon M8 which (thanks to Sunshine!) is s-off and unlocked and rooted to run lollipop (5.01).
1. So the good folk at therootninja.com were able to answer my question and they told me that I have to use Verizon ROMs.
2. I used these instructions to upgrade my phone to 5.01: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727831
3. There are 2 issues I've encountered:
A. My mobile data says "disconnected" and no matter what I've tried, can't get it work.
B. Smart screen security (so my face can unlock my phone) does not work
Does anyone know how to fix "mobile disconnected"? Here's what I've tried so far and doesn't work:
- Used different combinations of APN that I found posted in this forum & via Google searches
- Recovered to my previous version (4.4.4), copied down the APN settings, re-recovered 5.01 and used the settings;
- Factory reset & put in the APN settings
At this point, I'm back to running 4.4.4 because I need my mobile data to work and my next step might be to go back to 5.01 and take the phone to MetroPCS and see if they can get it to work.
I honestly don't know what to do & would appreciate some help from this community.
Thanks in advance,

Some more answers
Okay, so today I restored to my last 5.01 image (twrp backup) and walked into the MetroPCS store.
Here is the APN info the gal, Tiffany, input which worked(!!):
Name: metro pcs
APN: fast.metropcs.com
MMSC: http://metropcs.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
That's it, nothing else. I left the store estatic, drove home and when I clicked the menu, Mobile Data>GSM/UMTS Options, I reviewed the settings, BUT... when I exited the menu an automatic save was done and I lost my mobile data.
After much futzing, to include deleting the APN info & adding a new entry with the same info, I've found that by selecting LTE/legacy 3GPP mode in preferred network, I'm able to get mobile data working again. Go figure! :-?
In any case, the only final two things which are not "perfect" are:
1. Unrecognized SIM error (@DOTT suggested an xml file to edit)
2. Smart lock does not work, facial recognition never appears.
Hopefully someone will read this post & provide a reply. To date, I've submitted many questions and have not received many replies (2).
Getting a Verizon rom to work on another carrier is pretty easy. Since you are s-off you could use qpst to unlock the bands needed to get 3G and 4G working for MetroPCS. If you cannot get data to work, try a Verizon rom from the Verizon section. Verizon phones and Sprint phones have odd mount points,so flashing a rom for a different phone is not recommended. I know from experience on my m7 that a Verizon cannot be Co vetted to another variant. I don't know if the m8 is the same story as I have an AT&T branded converted to T-Mobile for the m8.

Long story short: try the Verizon m8 section instead of this one for help please. The people in this section have the T-Mobile branded m8 and yours is different.

[Q] Flash ATT OR Unlocked Stock ROM

Greetings All!
I have the Verizon HTC One M7 HTC6500LVW. I use AT&T for my provider. Is there anyway I can flash the stock ROM for AT&T or the unlocked ROM to this phone? I have lots of issues with data since Verizon blocks out some of the use of the radio and also cannot stand the bloatware apps that cannot be removed such as the 3 ESPN apps or NFL Sports zone or any of the Verizon apps that I cant use since its AT&T for my provider. Please help with any details you can. I'm fairly new to flashing and rooting and so far haven't even been able to find instruction that work on even getting S-Off or being able to root it or change the provider ID.
Thanks to all!
Sunshine to s-off. Install viper one or gpe for best results. You will not get better than edge connection as Verizon made HTC lock out the bands on something deeper than "simple" NV edits and flashing a radio for a different variant will cause no boot, same with other carrier ruu s.

Sprint HTC one M9 convert to European edition ?

Hello guys, my father bought used M9, was rooted and ****s, he gave him to some local "expert" to make it back to stock, but the idiot ****ed it up. He flashed something and the SIM CARD and the WIFI wasn't working, also had no IMEI. I used adb and checked the device IMEI, checked it online and found out it was SPRINT phone. Managed to flash some rooted Sprint RUUs, got the latest OTA updates but the problem is the SIM Card is not working - SIMLOCK enabled for european SIM Carrier, also there is something called Hands Free activation ?! So my question is how to make the device working again with EU Carrier (bulgarian sim cards). I managed to change the CID to SUPERCID, have boot loader unlocked, latest version of sprint installed. I need your ideas and probably a lot of your help to do this, thanks in advance (my father prefers some stock eu version, but he will use it with any ROM with working sim card)
CDMA (Sprint) devices and GSM firmware (European unbranded one) or vice versa are not compatible with each other due to the differences in the partition layout. Therefore, cross-flashing can lead to unrecoverable damages. Fortunately the M9 is still able to boot after a cross-flash so that it can be undone. Other devices would become a paperweight during the flash.
There should be a sim unlock guide in the Sprint M9 forum (which is linked in the ReadMe thread). However, you should check whether you really own a Sprint M9, beforehand. Those IMEI checks aren't very reliable. Use the engraving on the back side of the phone for finding out which version you own (c.f. the FAQ of the ReadMe thread). If it isn't a Sprint one then you should use the conversion guide in the ReadMe thread and flash a RUU that belongs to the phone's real MID.

You probably need to unlock it again. But there's a guide in the sprint M9 forum with all needed information.

checked the guide... its not working for me, i am using MAC also can't get the MSL code from the first steps, the phone is unlocked and i managed to install Bad boyz ROM already, but still need activation and SIM UNLOCK, any ideas?
The only other method that comes to my mind is contacting sprint and asking for an official unlock code. However, you'll need the stock rom for being able to use that code.

T-Mobile HTC 10 to Verizon (Straight Talk)

So I recently moved to a rural part of Ohio, and Verizon is about the only carrier that works here. I have an HTC 10 T-Mobile variant that I Sunshine S-Off'ed and flashed to an HTC branded phone. T-Mobile just game me my SIM Unlock code, and the phone does recognize the new Verizon Sim card. However there is no service at all. So do I still need to flash a firmware?
I really need this to operate on VZW service instead of T-Mobile.
Anyone successfully done this? IS it simple and I'm just missing something?
Thanks in advance.

You'll need to have the verizon radio running on it. You could just flash that, as mentioned here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/how-to/vzw-how-to-unlocked-model-vzw-t3376743
In that case you may also need to reset your radio settings to get full service, and it's also described in that thread.
Or, better in my opinion, change your cid and mid and flash the verizon ruu.

Hey thanks! I will look at both options. I am going to use Straight Talk for the carrier since its dirt cheap. I jsut need it to operate on VZW towers.
Thanks again.

Do you know where I can get the instructions for the MID/CID and the RUU files? Its been a while since I changed mine. I would like to try the verizon thing first and see if it works on straight talk. IF not, I would like to be able to flash back to TMO so I at least have a working phone.

Conversion process is described here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/how-to/guide-convert-unlocked-to-verizon-t3380615
Verizon RUUs are found here:

I'd use a Nougat RUU from the above link until you're sure you're sure you wanna stick with the Verizon software. If you install the Oreo RUU, and then downgrade back to T-Mobile which is still on Nougat, you'll lose your radio and will need to to an extra step to get it back.
