Have you tried the PNF Push Notification Fixer from the Playstore? It fixed the problem for me once. No guarantee though.
This issue can have several issues sadly.

i'm having trouble sharing data between apps. when ever i try, i get a black screen as if the app is loading, but it never clears from the black screen.
it's happened when sharing data to hangouts, facebook, and mail.
i'm on viperone 5.7.0
any help would be appreciated.
I've had this same problem on my gs4 with all current AOSP ROMs I've tried.
I've looked before through the threads of the ROMs I've encountered this issue with and have never found a mention regarding this issue till I found the this post doing a search in XDA app.
Have you had any luck finding a solution or at least information? Thanks.
Cheers

Update: I did a clean install per someone's suggestion. But I think I've narrowed this down. I finally tracked down the problem to xposed module xmultiwindow. Disabling it made the problem go away. That module is lacking in usability anyway. Oh well.
Cheers

Hi everyone. For some reason my recent apps hasn't been working lately. When I open it, it shows no recent apps.. but there should be. If I try a few more times it usually will kick in and show my running apps. It's kinda hit or miss but most of the time miss it used to work just fine. I am rooted but I believe the issue started before I rooted. I don't think I've disabled anything that could affect it either. Anyone else run into this problem? Or any ideas for a solution?
Thanks!
I'm having the same problem. I'm on a D855 16 GB now on v10h eur. I'm rooted right now, but I noticed this issue since I bought it. Does anyone knows how to fix it? It's not the biggest deal but still annoying...

Small update: i just removed some bloatware using the guide on this forum and the problem seems to be solved, no matter how hard i try to make it show again. I will test it a bit more and then, hopefully, confirm this impression.
Awesome that's good news! Can ya point me in the direction of that guide please?

I have the same issue sometimes. Probably a stock launcher bug.

Same phone and exact same problem.
With nova as well
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/general/guide-how-to-remove-bloatware-att-lg-g3-t2822501
This is the guide. I confirm that the problem "was" gone. Now i'm using apex launcher and it cames back occasionally only with certain apps. With the stock launcher i was not able to reproduce it, no matter how hard i try
suddenly I had this problem
anyone know how to fix it?

Not really fix.
ART is still beta until android L, so it's a valid troubleshooting step.

Valid? but this phone with no ART just won't work... This is the bypass fix- not really worth.
I just discovered that when I click on the arrow in the Google Maps search bar to do a directions search the application is FCing. Anyone else seeing this?
Nope. Works fine here.

Yup works here all okay also.
No problem here. Try clearing the cache and data for the app.

Happened to me too and restarting fixed it like for you. I was using another app that uses GPS so I figured that was the problem (though I never had it happen with my note 2). Wierd.

I've never had this happen either but it's back and after a reboot still happening. I do a search for a location and start navigation with no problem but I can use the directions functionality. Hopefully Google will fix it soon.
Google just updated the app. No issues now
Anyone encounter the error message "Unfortunately, Home has stopped" after upgrading to Lollipop on D855?
Pop up comes all the time or just once?
I wouldn't say all the time, but random times, when I go back to home screen with the back button on WhatsApp.
I have done a factory reset of my phone, the issue still persists.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
Yes I have the same problem. It does not pop out often, maybe a few times a week.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
It happens when I use WhatsApp. I used it very often so it happens very often for me haha. Well I guess it is just the launcher being buggy.
The same issue here, I noticed that it often happens when I close whatsapp.
Now I'm on D855-20i and still presets .. I removed all widgets. I noticed a little bit improvement .. But this bug still here
I think this problem is related to the memory leak that everyone talks about.

Yes, I get the "Unfortunately, Home has stopped" error intermittently since updating to lollipop, v20c is still the latest for my D855.
Pressing home or back does it, but difficult to reproduce consistently.
In searching I have not found a solution, doing a full reset doesn't work either.
The only way I have found to stop the error is to use another Launcher as a workaround.
I'm on 20F and I've never seen this.
When I check for OS updates it still says v20c is the latest for my variant, so maybe its fixed in v20f.
Im not prepared to root and load a different rom to fix it, since ive found from past experience it breaks something else.

i somehow believe that this kind of problem often happen in the 2gb version,
due to the huge amount of ram that lg stock launcher use
I have the 32GB/3GB Ram version and it still happens.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
Just use another launcher. I switched to nova launcher after I found there is no way to get rid of the issue. Now it never happened again.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
Yep, I did the same, although I keep trying different launchers to see which one a like the best.
The only problem then is you can't use some of the built in widgets on another launcher, like the weather, calendar and exchange mail.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
I, too, am experiencing this problem. Running on V20H. :3
I wonder if it's fixed in the latest stock v20i for D855?
As this is downloadable and I would risk flashing it if I knew it was fixed.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
Use some other widgets to replace the stock ones. I use Google calendar, weather and clock widget, and I do not use any email widget. Everything works well for me.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
the problem is still unfixed on v20p D855...
did anybody find a solution other than switching launcher or widgets?
Uninstalled WhatsApp and issue is RESOLVED!!!
Hey guys,
Since I change phone, my phone app has been acting up. It freezes when I receive an incoming call making it tough to answer. I've cleared the cache and force closed the app. It has resolved the issue temporarily and then it comes back a couple hours later.
I tried reinstalling the app to no avail.
I don't want to flash my device and would like to avoid resetting the phone completely unless it's my last resort.
Any ideas.
Thanks,
Which app are you using? Sounding like it's not the preloaded phone app

It is actually... Using stock Samsung Phone App.
Does it also happen in safe mode? Any apps you have recently installed?

It has happened ever since opening the packaging from the phone, even before installing anything. My APP drawer is very basic so I doubt it might be this.
Keep in mind that if I clear cache and force close the APP it will work momentarily until coming back to its bad ways a couple hours after... So seems like it's app related..
Ok found a fix. Seems like you were right about APPS being the issue. Native AR Emoji and AR Zone apps were both the issue as they were incompatible with the Native Phone APP.
I simply deactivated both AR Apps and now the phone works perfectly.
Thanks for aligning me in the right path !
