Hi ! I just unlocked bootloader of my phone (Micromax Canvas A1 with Android One) yesterday, flashed a Custom CWM Recovery and Rooted it. But now, I want to get back my warranty by unrooting it. I think the following steps will work in getting back my warranty:
1) Unroot Android
2) Flash stock recovery
3) Relock bootloader
I can unroot and relock the bootloader on myself. But I don't have stock recovery image for my phone. Can anyone here provide me the Stock Recovery image file for this phone?
Moreover, I have one more Canvas A1 handset which is completely in factory mood (and so under warranty unlike my rooted Android one phone ). Is there any way to create a flashable rocovery image file from this phone?
Anyways, I will be very happy and thankful if only anyone could provide me the Stock Recovery Image file for this phone .
Thanks in advance !
Here's the stock recovery link which I had uploaded: http://www.mediafire.com/?cr10jbo9f6gnh32 (rename it to recovery.img)
You'll need to flash it from ADB mode (you need unlocked boot loader in this case) or just flash using SP Tools (v.5.1424) (if you need scatterer file, ask me)
Actually, flashing stock recovery and locking boot loader does not give warranty back.
However you'll need stock recovery to flash lollipop update when arrived.
To get warranty back, you need to download complete stock ROM and flash it using SP Tools in firmware upgrade mode to reset the flash counter.

Is there a way that I can remove the root on my phone? I used Fresh Kitchen to root it. But I was just curious as to if there was a way to remove the root and return everything back to stock. Any help? Thanks :]]

Hi guys, I picked up a One X today brand new for an absolute bargain price. It is locked to Orange UK but I've requested the unlock code and should receive it soon. Coming from a Samsung world flashing on the One X seems like an absolute nightmare though! All I had to do with my previous Samsungs was download the stock .tar file and flash it with ODIN, no invalidated warranty or command line input to worry about! All I want to know is, is it possible to go from Orange firmware to stock UK firmware without unlocking bootloaders or smashing my warranty? I don't want any custom ROMs or anything.
Sorry if this has been answered before but I'm something of an HTC noob and most of the threads seem to pertain to custom firmwares rather than standard releases.
Nope not possible without unlocking the bootloader.....you must unlock it and flash a stock like custom rom to get rid of the orange carrier stuff....a standard UK rom is not really out there. just a WWE stock like rom. based on the latest software builds.
So in basically have to unlock the boot loader and install CWM then flash a stock ROM in CWM .zip format? Or does unlocking the BL mean you can run any RUU? Thanks for your help.
no you can't run any ruu because our phones are S-ON, once (wonder if it ever happends) we get S-OFF we can run any RUU. You have actually 2 options :
1 : unlock, flash a custom recovery and root the stock rom (then you can ditch orange stuff from it)
2 : unlock, flash a custom recovery and flash a total new custom rom (that is rooted already and released from bloatware crap)
whatever you decide to do i have 2 tips :
1 : before you start with unlocking and flashing...charge the battery
2 : when you unlocked it and flash a custom recovery you firts make a nandroid backup of the stock rom ! you need when you want to go back to stock and update the phone with official OTA's !
the basic steps are :
unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery, flash the boot.img file from the new rom with fastboot commands from the pc to the phone, make a full wipe in the recovery and install the rom.zip
:good:
So I found my old M83 the other day. It's running:
S-ON, UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER (NOW RELOCKED) ON TMOBILE.
I decided to try and flash the latest firmware via the sd card method, didn't work. Then tried flashing the firmware via fastboot. Fastboot didn't work either.
Now the phone only boots to the bootloader/hboot screen.
Any attempt at trying to flash firmware, or a recover, customer or otherwise fails.
I'm really hoping I can find a tmobile ruu zip to bring it back to life, however I can't seem to find a tmobile ruu zip anywhere anymore. I don't have a PC so downloading the *exe files doesn't do me much good.
Is there anyone that can please offer some assistance?
Much appreciated in advance!
What I did was to use TWRP and restore my original copy of the ROM (hopefully you still have that), if not you will need to find a TWRP backup of the ROM for the version of firmware you have and then restore the recovery for that same version (it get rid of TWRP). Then let the OTA fix update your phone. This is the route I took. Since Android 6 (MM) is the last release once you get to that stock, you can then replace the recovery (you could backup the recovery also) with TWRP, take a backup and then root or flash a new ROM.
Good luck
Hello all.
i have a Moto G5, with unlocked bootloader, Viper OS Rom and TWRP Recovery 3.2.2.0.
Can i restore the original motorola rom, original recovery and lock the bootloader ? is there any motorola tool with the option to restore my phone back to original state like the samsung kies (detect, download and install the original firmware so you can receive OTA updates again)?
i've searched on Motorola website and didn't found anything about it
You flash stock firmware via fastboot
Just download the firmware & flash each component - I wouldn't flash the partition or bootloader parts though
There's instructions if you search YouTube
I'm rooted with frp unlocked and so on with oreo. I need to go all the way back to out of the box stock setup to download the latest updates. I'm on oreo and have a ton of reading but I need to be guided into a set of instructions to get this restore done.
Please help.
Thx!
Via magisk uninstaller, uninstall and your boot will be fine
Also, you can flash stock boot and recovery to be on full stock
Will this allow me to relock and do ota updates? Basically I need to be able to use the factory recovery partition incase of failure. Currently due to the unlocked phone the use of the recovery bricks the phone. And where can I get these stock recovery partitions at?
Doesn't matter if your BL is locked or unlocked. As long as you have stock recovery and stock boot, you will be able to install OTA
Can you e plain a bit more detail? Thx! How the process should go
What are the commands for stock boot and recovery images through the recovery screen. The white screen that shows bootloader and frp status.... And possible link to those specific files would be great.
Erecovery? How to reflash?
