So it seems 100% certain that Verizon got some sort of exclusive deal on the gNex for...at least a month? If that is true then I might as well import the GSM model from the UK
My question is, what are the chances that Samsung (or Google) would set up an online GNexus store in Nov/Dec?
(Tmo definitely isn't getting this at all or at least not before 2012, right)
Just trying to clear up the different info I heard around the forums
Well... no one knows. Thats the deal. We know that Verizon is getting it because they said so. Other than that no one has any idea if there is an exclusive, what other carriers would get it, or whether or not they will sell it unlocked right away in the USA.
Your guess is as good as mine.
If you're willing to pay extra to import, you can guarantee that you can get a model that is released in the UK on Nov 17. Other than that, its up in the air and we'll find out soon enough. Anyone can say anything, and everyone (myself included) has an opinion, but no one knows for certain. That's why we're all still speculating.
shoot :/
theres so much we still dont know about this phone its really unfair, and its not even just to satisfy mere curiosity, people actually need info about dates and prices to know how much to save up and what their situation is... ugh
what about the people that saved up the money and somehow it turns out Verizon is the only one to get the phone... Google is doing some sneaky sh^^ with this one..

Ya we don't know. Just keep in mind they never did say anything other than "November". So its not like they're ripping us off, they're just being a little slow.
It just doesn't make sense to keep this kind of information hidden, especially regarding this device. Anyone the info would reach would only be people who stay in the loop on Android news. It can't hurt sales because anyone who stays up to date would get a nexus one way or another, no need to worry about the nexus stealing the razrs thunder.
Right now I have no idea whether to import now, wait for the 32gb UK, wait for Samsung to sell it online, or wait for a TMo subsidized version. We don't have a what, where, or when... What was the point of the entire HK event sheesh
Google, why u no want my money?!

Morotola Milestone 2... I'm looking to buy Samsung Captative Glide i927, the sub forum is a lot more active and there are plenty of diferent roms to choose from.
Is it a worthy upgrade from a MM2?
Thank you.
Depending on your radio requirements, you should consider the Relay 4G. Its only downside over the Glide is its 4G isn't compatible with AT&T (but it's fully quad-band EDGE/UMTS), and the community just took off like a rocket this month.
I'll ride my Glide until it can't run the newest Android comfortably anymore, but if I was buying now, without a doubt in my mind, I'd get an unlocked Relay.

I'm from Argentina, I will look up what bands the carrier use here. Thank you, Relay 4G seems a strong candidate in my book, too bad I can't get it here via normal means, that is something I have to deal with down here, the choices are really non existant, that is why I'm also looking for someone or some business to get me one from USA.
Can I ask you some questions about your Glide? Because this one I can get it in Argentina, for about 450-475 USD, brand new in box, unlocked.
Edit1: the Relay 4G is a beast of a phone (dualcorewise), but dang it! the OLED is a pentile matrix
Still my account is not activated, I have to wait 5 min even to edit.
Edit2: neverming, I've just read the forum help.
Edit3: What is you opinion/feeling on the i927 Forums and development of ROMS? Still ongoing? Stuck? Dying?

If your carrier doesn't even offer HSPA+ specifically (I don't know the situation in your country), I wouldn't even bother. Both Glide and Relay will operate 3G in all four bands used in the US, and neither are LTE capable. If one won't work, neither will the other.
As for procurement: you may find someone on eBay US that will ship internationally. They may request some payment method other than Paypal (due to Paypal/eBay's reputation of siding with the buyer even when said buyer is very obviously and blatantly in the wrong). It's up to you whether the hassle (+exchange rate) is worth it.

Glide is also pentile, and a very obvious pentile at that (red has a plainly visible pattern). Looking at the specs, it's very likely the Relay and Glide have the exact same screen.

It's been aggravatingly slow since forever, and has cooled a bit but she's not dead yet. Relay is definitely more active right now. The fact that the Glide's SoC is rather exotic (the Tegra 2 specifically is freakin' WEIRD) and a pain to develop for hasn't helped any. That said, what we have right now is still pretty recent and is above and beyond DD quality (where the Relay ROMs have just gotten off the ground and still have some glaring issues).

Speaking of LTE... if that's what you need, look at the Stratosphere II. Yes, it's VZW which is CDMA, but it's an international device meaning it also has a GSM radio, and supports all common LTE bands instead of just whatever VZW uses.
That said, you'd be taking a serious gamble in the ROM dev department -- as of this moment we know NOTHING about the bootloader (it's not even rooted yet) leave alone what nasty surprises there could be waiting for us once we can flash it. And VZW has been by far the worst about bootloaders.
well...

I think they do not even do HSPA+, but even so, I'm not in need of H+ or LTE/4G speeds, my plan only has 512mb/month and I'm barely using half of it, I do not travel a lot, I do comute a lot, and the rest of the time I have WiFi access (I work at IT), so there is that. I'm happy with the 4mb/1mb I get with the 3G, I mostly need it to check mails, be online, Skype, access some servers via RDP and reddit.

Seeing that the Motorola Photon Q LTE has the SIM card soldered, I will try to see about the MM4. But yeah, I have to see if the hassle, and the waiting times are worth it to me, I had the MM2 for 13 months now, before that I have the Samsung Galaxy Spica (really really low end phone) but made me fell in love with Android.

Crap, in the MM2 I dont even see the pixels (it is a 3.7" screen with 852*480). I tried to google some screen reviews of the Glide but found nothing, that bad is it? I wish I could see it before buying it...

As long there are some cool CM ROMs I'm up for it. The fact is that with my MM2 there are only 4, CM7.1 is totally dead, there is MS2GINGER (which I rather not) and CM10/10.1 which are painfully slow on my device. That is why I recon it is time to change, also I bought it used, so it was an old model when I bought it. I'm poor, and the prices are insane.

I think I will keep researching and trying to cool off myself, I was about to pull the trigger on the Glide, but the pentile and 4row keyboard got me thinking, I has stuff that I like/want (1gb RAM, dual core, slide Keyboard) and stuff that I dont, pentile matrix and 4row keyboard. (mm2 also has 4 row keyboard, but I want an upgrade on everything if I'm putting a lotta money on it).
Would you recommend the Glide if the year were 2011/2?
Bottom line, I cant decide yet it seems. Thank you.
edit1: I'm about to pull the trigger on the Glide (it is theRogers version, so that makes it an i927R, that $2900[pesos] are about 467 USD official price or about 350usd black market us dollar price [black market dollar is abut 67% more than official one, the country is in the ****, dont be mistaken, is more than a half month salary of mine.), I've contacted the seller, and awaiting his/her reply.
Besides the pentile screen, on how bad could it be, how flat are the keys? are they totally flat? the action is clicky, springy or rubbery?
Thx again.

Development on the GLide has slowed to a crawl. No disrespect to the developers they are the best but most have now moved away from the Glide which is now almost a 2 year old phone. I love my Glide but I am envious of all the new Phones coming out with larger displays, LTE and now even IR. Wish I could control my TV with my Glide without need for any other attachment or computer. Our GLide is still one of the best Hardware Keyboard devices but the bad battery drain that makes me have to add an oversize battery making it look like a phone from 5 years ago. We will never get an official JB from our carriers as they have dropped support for our phone already. As for JB from our developers it is promising but unfortunately Bluetooth headset profile is not working or very flaking that makes it not a viable solution especially for those of us that live in areas where it is ilegal to hold your handset and drive.
My recommendation is get the GLide if it is very cheap as it is still a decent phone, but if you can shell out a little more cash get something newer with more support from it's carrier and more people on it in the XDA community.

Talking about going offtopic... I'm not really playing Bf3 right now, that was the last time i even played, I somewhat switched to SC2, til i get bored and switch again.
Where should I report that with CM10.1 M3 (M2 too) my Morotola S305 BT headset has music and controls working ok? no phone audio though.
I keep getting the Note 4 910a (3x) hoping that the locked down everything won't bother me. It does... a lot.
My 14 day return ends on 1/16/15. I ordered the n910c yesterday, and expect it to arrive 1/13/15 at the latest. I did quite a bit of research, and found that the N910c/f/t should, in theory, work on AT&T with no issues. They seem to have all of the bands required. T-Mobile refuses to sell me a phone without signing up with them, so it came down to c and f. For those who don't know, C and F are almost the same with the exception of c having Exynos, and f having snapdragon. I was surprised that the exynos seems to support AT&T LTE. Anyway, I chose the 910c, because the exynos chip is supposed to be faster, and use less battery, and was cheaper. Plus there is a glimmer of hope that 64 bit will be unlocked on it once lollipop is released on it. I will come back here, and let you guys know how the switch went once I get my phone.
For those of you who choose to stay behind, I hope that you gain root, but I doubt it will happen since all of the devs seem to have moved on.

"Jerk". Do you think that talking to people like that will get you some sort of XDA cred? Last I checked, the General forum for 910A wasn't very full at all. If anything, a new thread should be welcomed. The point of this was to not only express my distaste for a locked device, but to help point others towards a more open device. That is why I mentioned more than just the device I chose. I actually listed the 3 that I believe to be fully compatible with AT&T's network. I won't be choking on my new phone, and suggesting I do so, only makes you sound butt hurt, cuz you couldn't afford to buy one outright. So why don't you do us all a favor, and stop making your obvious envy more obvious, and stop wasting space on my thread.
To anyone else; I'll still report back to confirm that the N910C does in fact work on AT&T. I noticed my 910A is picking up 17. So I can't confirm 4 until I find an area.

Yeah, no one cares if you leave. This post is just showing how much of a spoiled, impatient consumer you are. Carry on.
I don't have a problem with this guy's thread, it is extremely frustrating and he wants a place to vent about it.
I am still on the fence. My original decision was to go with the Nexus 6, but the complaint list on reddit about the software and hardware of that phone have turned me off. I love AT&T and have been with them for a long time, but I am considering switching to the Sprint Note 4, they have a much better deal than AT&T anyways.
For now I am going to continue to hold off until March to see if the price drops because I still love the Note 2 and am not in a hurry to upgrade. Since I really would like to stay with AT&T I have disabled all of my favorite xposed mods and am pretty much running stock 4.4.2 DN3. I think I could live without root on the Note 4, aside from that stupid ass AT&T logo in the top left of the screen. Highly annoying.
I'd just get a bad imei tmobile, unlock and use on AT&T.

Once it's not used on the same network you should be able to do it.

Does anyone know if the S7 will support the ability to use Voice and LTE data at the same time?
I am saving up for an S6 but if the S7 will support this with Sprint, than I will continue to save and purchase the S7. I currently have the S5 and can live with it for awhile longer if the S7 will have LTE and Voice.
PS: Couldn't find a "next gen devices" thread.
Regardless I would wait for the S7 if I were you man. Comes out in like 2-3 months.

Well, the thing is I could get an S6 for half the price of the S7. And if it doesn't have the LTE while on voice feature, I would rather pay for the S6 (I'm broke lol) But by the time the S7 comes out I could have enough money. I also would prefer the S6 cause there is much more support and development available for it. Then again I could always compile my own S7 kernel and start the modding myself.
Is the S7 really going to be all that great? I read rumors that its going to have the best camera of all the devices and such. Which I would definitely love. Plus the 4K screen. Meh, I guess I should just save up for the S7. Still would like to know if it will support the data while on voice. I really hope Sprint realizes this is a much missed feature. Albeit, I can live without it but having it would be awesome.
Thanks for the reply!
Only Rumors For Now
There are a number of articles with rumors and speculation, but none that I have seen address your question about simultaneous LTE and voice.
Here is my round-up based only on sites that I like:
http://www.techradar.com/news/phone...samsung-galaxy-s7-what-we-want-to-see-1293401
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/samsung-galaxy-s7-news/
Maybe bigger, maybe better screen, faster processor and better audio. Liquid cooling seems far fetched, but okay.
They use the same sources and, as I said, don't answer your question.
If voice and data at the same time is the key feature for you, I'd look at alternative devices.

Well apparently from my extensive research, the voice and LTE on Sprint is not a Samsung/HTC/LG issue, its a Sprint issue. The new Spark they rolled out broke the feature, and would require more hardware tweaking my Sprint to Samsung for it to work. So another device I don't think would help. The last phone to support this feature was the S3 but doesn't use Sprint Spark.
You know, right after I wrote this I recalled reading that it was Sprint.
The issue seems to be Sprint's delayed roll out of VoLTE (Voice over LTE)
See if you can learn when it is due to hit your area.

So the VoLTE is more so tower dependent than it is device dependent? Does the S6 support VoLTE if the tower supports it? I'm reading things that say in 2016 VoLTE will be a thing for sprint is most areas. I would prefer to get the S6 cause I just can't fathom paying ~700 bucks for a cell phone. I usually get mine on eBay/Swappa for like 350 to 400 depending on condition. The S6 would surely suffice for me. My brother has it and I really like it.
Contradictory Information All Over
I found lots of contradictory information. Either we'll have this capability...or we won't. Two years ago they were going to start the roll out or maybe it won't happen.
This was the latest that i found that could be considered official: https://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/216897
"If at such time we enable Voice over LTE on our devices, you will be able to do it simultaneously without Wi-Fi." (That addresses your specific question about the S6 and seemed hopeful.)
"We do not have any information pertaining that at this time. Sprint Spark devices are not Simultaneous Voice and Data capable unless connected via Wi-Fi. " (And that answer right below that is not so hopeful.)
Sorry, man, don't know what to tell you.

Thanks man. I think I may talk to my local store manager about it. He's a nerd like us and knows a lot about whats going on and tells me. If I get any info, i'll be sure to post back.
Also, would the Snapdragon processor rumored to be in the S7 better than an Exynos? I always thought Exynos processors were better performance wise. I also read that having a Snapdragon processor would mean more/better development here on XDA.
This is truly a tough choice haha.
On a side: What is up with everyone complaining about the lack of SD card in the S6 and S7? Yeah it sucks, but that is what OTG is for. I have the S5 and hardly use my SD card. Its mainly used for storing backups on. So I just plug in my USB flash drive and store them on there instead if I didn't have an SD slot.
Also, whats up with a "Pressure sensitive display"? I have one question, why? Lol. I guess instead of "Long pressing" something, its quicker/easier to press harder? I just feel like myself and others are going to get annoyed by it due to accidental hard presses when in a hurry/not paying attention. I really don't see it being "that cool" that is makes me want to buy it.
No working root for note10+ US snapdragon in site you say??? A few months back @elliwigy with extreme syndicate release a working root method for the note 9 snapdragon, they did this by exploiting the combo files to bypass the locked boot-loader issue with newer US Samsung models. I was curious to see if this can also be achieved on the us note 10 plus. I have been working on that very problem but i seem to have hit a wall could use some fresh input. Is anybody else actively working on this if so I would like to team up and solve this problem....
yours in good code,
-C-Dubbenstein-
Would be nice when and if. Good luck. I picked up my vzw note 10plus on day 1 here in US. Never updated anything other than play store apps for in the event a root or maybe even a bootloader unlock would come to. Neither of which I'm holding my breath on. But I'm optimistic. These are strange times we live in so who knows.
Good luck nonetheless,

Well I seen this morning there is an unlocking method for $150 just need to confirm if itll work for the + models also
see
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-20-ultra/how-to/root-note-20-ultra-version-t4165703
appears to cover n10 among few other
Anyone tried this rooting/ bootloader unlock method successfully on an SM-N976U Note 10+5G from Tmo?
Sent from my SM-N976U 5G using XDA-Developers Legacy app
This reply.
This has enough red flags to be more red than "some country flag" itself.
"So basically I gotta send some random guy in Beijing $150.. wait a week, install some 3rd party utils to let him take over my (windows) computer.. and if anything goes wrong I'm out $150 and the only way to get ahold of them is Telegram?"
That's the reply quoted above.
Hmm...
a. send money to unknown person - no control whatsoever on tracing the money
b. wait for some time - no guarantee of getting an answer
c. install some 3rd party PC tools (or similar) which will allow that unknown person to control my computer - WHAT POSSIBLY COULD GO WRONG :silly:
d. if something goes wrong / unsuccessful result (which are quite possible) then ... - ugh, cuz why not, I've paid, right?
e. the only way to get in touch with that person is telegram - btw, on groups channels there's no encryption (afaik, but maybe I'm wrong)
What can I possible do with the 150$? What if I save some 20-30$ every month for 2 years and add the 150?
Some 630$ - 870$ of savings in 2 years, not bad, they may help in buying the next phone.
Oh yeah, and no root. Because 'Murica (and a few others) luv SD chips. And LagSung loves $$$.

Then don't do it. I know the guys too. And they are legit. So it's no one loss but your own. I wouldn't hesitate. Next time you want root or such buy a device that can be out the door

I did not say that they are not legit nor that I have something against them.
My point is that the variables on this endeavor are complex and thin, not so much transparency.
I do own an 975F, so I don't loose anything.

Right now it's the only way to get the eng tokens based of the did of your device. I just see so many people talking crap. That they'll end up closing up shop and screw the rest of us in the future when we need em. Where all know about us locked bootloader since the s5 s6. By now most people should know this and buy unlockable bootloader devices. I'm in the US. Have had severL unlocked snap. And currently running a note 10 exy

so the reply you quoted is someone who is paranoid or mad that its not "free".. most good things in life are not free..
a. I am known very much so in the community and have been around a decade or so.. have been only dev really providing root (for free) on xda since the s8 and posted many other dev projects overthe years before that
b. I respond as soon as physically possible so u will get a reply. also to add im not shady at all, in fact theres a plethora of notes which users must read everything before theyre even able to send anything.
c. usb redirector is a very common tool that most legit services use for various things such as sim unlocks, frp bypasses or w.e other services are out there in the world. it also DOES NOT allow full control of ur computer lmao.. it only allows them to see the device plugged into usb which is what allows remote services to be dont.. u basically plug device in and with usb redirector itll appear as if its plugged in to the remote computer so they can unlock the device.
d. if something goes wrong bcuz the user didnt read all the notes, provided wrong did or something after repeated warnings, notes, having them triple check then thats their own fault. If it is an issue with the service then a refund is given. This is common practice. If you go to an antique store and break something chances are u will have to pay for it, same concept.
e. theres multiple ways. chat, xda, email, pymbt is done in venmo usually so u also have access to personal facebook account if need be. Encryption for chat isnt really necessary.. im sure real hackers have more important things to do then try and somehow steal a random chat for a did they cant do anything with anyways lol
its also not 150.. only flip 2 is 150 which very few ppl have anyways.. but i do agree, you can do a lot with 150 and of course saving money over two years is a good idea lol
and absolutely, we luv sd chips bcuz its consistently superior than exynos as well as exynos doesnt have good functionallity on usa networks.. why buy a exynos if ur in usa and not have any carrier features or 5g etc?
thats just my 2 cents lol

I must apologize for the fact that I didn't know that you are the person dealing with this root possibility. I know the type of your work, but didn't think it can be also a different one too.
I also have great respect for you, so again, I'm sorry.
I understood that it was a completely other unknown person related to this situation. My ignorant answer(s) were based on that.
To be more clear, I do not live in US and can't buy an US SD with similar carrier conditions. I have access to Exynos as purchase and warranty. I'm satisfied with it.
It is totally my fault being to superficial in getting the correct (somehow an interesting/challenging one) context of this talk.
Therefore I apologize again.
Best regards.

lol no need to apologize.. just as someone else stated a "paid" service or even unlock in general for some reason ppl have a hard time believing but with everything else theres always goimg to be a few out there that will be quick to downplay it.
Of course some points/concerns im sure are very real to some ppl and paid services are frowned upon on xda for valid reasons with one being some ppl will be triggered and unfortunately sometimes post innapropriately lol
i dont really talk about it much for obvious reasons

So you trust the method to get the note 10+ snapdragon rooted? Do you or does anyone know anyone who has done it thats given feedback besides Mad Scientist saying he knows them? What would you say is the best option of a note 10+/model number that can be rooted?
A non related question, is there a recommended carrier unlock company you'd recommend, i use a tmobile note 10+. Is unlockriver legit?
Lol

thats insane! for that much i could buy an octoplus with a years license and then charge everyone visiting these threads $20 to bootloader and/or sim unlock their devices. whats the incentive to use that kind of service. ive never even heard of a remote frp fix for more than $30.
