Moto 360 Ported apps exprements - Moto 360

Ok so this thread is for apps you port via ABD and that I'm experimenting and testing so I can let you guys know that they work and half work and so on
Apps that work
~Flappy Birds, half cut but found an android app to partly fix it
~Angry birds cut on level numbers but PERFECT on playing but don't swipe to the left
What i was wondering if i can get a ps3 controller port ps3 controller app into the moto tie the moto on the middle and play if the games

as stated in another post, i tested MyOldBoy GBC emulator and works great with pokemon, although b button is slightly cut off. still working on pushing a new keymad via adb to fix this.

Anyone try Smartgear on the TP2 yet?

Curious how it behaves with the higher res screen. Games play smooth with sound?
sure it looks fine on nes. but i cant get the G******N keys assigned!!!
Yep, use it all the time, works perfectly. Combine that with TV out all I need is for the TP2 to support my bluetooth keyboard and I'm set...
By the way you can download a trial version to test it yourself.

Try KforTP and switch to M$IME mode then assign your keys. Kind of a pain because of an extra step (don't forget to turn it off after your done playing) but it does the trick.
It works well, one of the best NES and Gen emulators out there. I can't vouch for any of the other systems it emulates as I have never tried them out. One thing to note is the sound is a little choppy some times. I just have it disabled most of the time anyways.
Smartgear
This is the best emulator I could find for the Rhodium.
If you have trouble assigning the keys, make sure you have the latest version installed. I had that problem and it was resolved after re-installing the latest version.

broken touch pad :(

Hi all.
I have just gone play dead space today and my analogue controls no longer work. I've tested on other games as well and making sure the touch analogues are set up in the controls and they are.
I'm guessing I'm going to have to send the phone back to Sony? :'(
Don't panic...did you download any apps recently? What were the last few things you downloaded before the touchpads stopped working? Some apps mess with the game pad that's why I'm asking.

Nah, i am on stock UK 2.3.3 with root. Its broke i know it. Its almost worthless without the touch pads because most xp play games need them :-(
Hi,
I have the same issue. Have you you fixed it? How?
you can use the touchpad tester to be 100% sure there broke the apk is in the themes and apps section just search or type touchpad tester in google

[Q] Possible to use Sixaxis Pairtool for Xperia play?

I checked the relevant threads but found nothing like it (i found similar threads but nothing too applicable)
Basically i have ICS on the HP Touchpad (bear with me) I also have an Xperia Play (using the Sony ICS beta) and i recently bought the sixaxis controller app from dancing pixel studios, i don't have a PS3 i bought it based on this idea:
Using the Sixaxis Pair Tool is there anyway we could tweak a driver to allow it to ostensibly pair via USB with the Xperia Play and make it think it is a PS3 controller? the purpose behind this would be to play games like Modern Combat 3, Dead Space, GTA III and others via bluetooth on the HP Touchpad (and other android tablets) using the Xperia Play as the controller?

I think this is not possible because this is hardware but part of the phone its not a PS/2 PC Controller so no But Only if someone made a complete Custom ROM for this. Then maybbe yes

Don't waste your money on that tool, it won't help you. The Sixaxis controller app does exactly the same thing anyway.
The only way you could make this work (if at all) would be write an app for the Xperia Play that creates a bluetooth connection with the tablet and mimics how a PS3 controller would connect. This is a fairly advanced programming topic, and as a beginner, you would probably struggle with it.

This sounds very similar to what you want to accomplish, but I don't know if it has Xperia Play/gamepad support:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...r-android-as-a-bluetooth-gamepad-for-another/
It sounds like the Ad-Free version might work:
Unlocking BT Controller gives you access to build, edit and download new controllers. You can also assign any key to each button and remove ads.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like the app I mentioned above requires the app to support it, so it may not work with the games you listed... it says it works with many emulators, which support it, but I'm beginning to doubt it would work with the games you mentioned... >_> Maybe worth a try though...

Let me me know how it goes.
I also just dug up this project:
http://code.google.com/p/androhid/
It's a Bluetooth HID client implementation that allows your phone to act as a bluetooth keyboard/mouse. I believe Gamepads are also HID devices, so it might not be too hard to take that and add Xperia Play support to expose the gamepad as a Bluetooth HID gamepad.
EDIT: Or nevermind... that only allows your phone to act as a Bluetooth keyboard, not mouse... and thus not gamepad, but still may be a good starting point...
Looks like the poor guy had to tackle a few nasty implementation challenges on Android:

Your app (sixaxis) is cool for if you want to use a ps3 pad with tab or something. but he want's to use his play which he could just use Droid-mote to do.
What would be more interesting is to use an app like sixaxis to enable the xperia play pad to be mapped to your touch profile set up. then us xperia play users could play any android game with are control pad not just optimized one's.

Fowl language? He was just saying that because your post started with "I think it's not possible..." and ended with "...so maybe yes", making it an awfully relatively long answer. But if it makes you feel any better, I don't find your post utter crap
BTW and off topic, I don't get why all kids, teenagers, and generally young people write like "What? That is Not Possible.. How Can That be??" (Yes, I'm talking about the Camel Caps, not about the actual post content).

Droidmote seemed the most likely candidate for this, unfortunately when trying to start the server i get "CRC32 check failed" i have stopped the app and cleared data (as suggested by others on the market) to no avail, i have contacted the developer to see if i can get this sorted.
EDIT: ok i managed to get this working by uninstalling the server, updating busybox and superuser and reinstalling it, its a great little app for controlling as a mouse, i havent quite figured out its controller setting yet but it looks promising, however it does seem to not respond to the xperia plays gamepad at all it instead uses the buttons to control the onscreen menus, but it's progress

with DroidMote installed on your Xperia Play you can use your phisical buttons to control a tablet, for the analog parts you have two virtual stick onscreen. you can use this to remote control all games that support gamepad on your tablet.
with the onscreen touchpad, now you can also have a remote multitouch touchpad like the apple magic trackpad if you hace ics on your tablet.

[Q&A] Ask a Developer your Ouya Questions

I backed Ouya on Kickstarter, and mine finally arrived today. There have been a lot of questions, a lot of speculation, and not many answers. I will personally be attempting to install a 3'rd party launcher, Google Play apps (store, music, movies) and other games and apps I have bought over the years on the Play Store. The point of this topic is for other people who are interested in buying one or have pre-ordered one to get answers to their questions, like I couldn't.
I have been an Android user since the original Motorola Droid on Verizon, and a Custom ROM Developer for the Samsung Fascinate, HTC Thunderbolt, and Droid Bionic. I will be working on a custom ROM for the Ouya as well once we get some reasonable safety measures to ensure I don't brick it while experimenting. Feel free to ask me anything, about app compatibility, features, user interface, whatever, I'll do my best to answer. I'll also keep this topic updated with my observations and experiences with hacking and modding this console.
Since I've already gone through the trouble of tracking down working apps I figured I'd save everyone else a few minutes and collect the working ones here:
How to install: From your Ouya browser click the link for any apk's you want to download. once the downloads have completed go to: Manage > System > Advanced > Storage > Downloads and select the apk files one by one.
Netflix: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/Netflix_2.1.2 build 787.apk I had audio issues on some shows until I rebooted, and an occasional freeze, but just hold down the "ouya" button on the controller to back out to home and open it up again.
Hulu Plus: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/Hulu Plus 2.6.201000.apk Seems to be working great!
Youtube: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/com.google.android.youtube.googletv-2.apk Works great.
Nova Launcher: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/com.teslacoilsw.launcher-1.apk Works great and opens up additional options in the settings menu. I choose to use this as the default launcher, since I can still access all my ouya games, and the ouya home from it much quicker than from ouya home.
Dropbox: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/com.dropbox.android-2.apk Works great with the controller, I use it to copy apps from my computer or phone easily.
Amazon App Store: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/com.amazon.venezia-2.apk Installed, logged in, and downloaded Angry birds, which didn't work so well.... Well, I mean it worked great, but was very difficult to play with the ouya controller. Time to hook up a bluetooth mouse. EDIT: after the initial time working so well, I cannot get it to work again. the main page opens but any app I click on it just brings up a blank screen. If anyone else experiences this please let me know...
XBMC: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u...f76-Gotham_alpha2_stagefright-armeabi-v7a.apk This is the latest XBMC build with hardware decoding. I didn't try any local/network video yet, but the streaming video from break.com looked fine.
Pandora: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/com.pandora.android-1.apk Works great, but since it's the Android interface you'll have on screen adds unless you pay for prime, and the "X" to close it is very tiny. However on the plus side if you go to Settings > Developer Options > Uncheck Don't keep activities Pandora can run in the background with a 3rd party launcher. So right now I'm listening to Whitesnake and installing the next app on my list to check tonight.
Flixter: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/net.flixster.android-1.apk Works, but not always. Final Destination 5 kept freezing at the same point every time, but I watched several minutes of The Dark Knight Rises on wifi and the quality was good and I had no issues.
Chrome: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7653846/apps/com.android.chrome-1.apk Works great, but due to lack of gapps framework you can't sign in, so no tab/bookmark syncing yet.
Non-working/Glitchy:
Facebook - Installed, logged in with no problem, but the interface is far to large to use. Imagine pictures that are 2 - 3 times larger than the screen, with tiny text and you'll get the idea. plus it crashed for no reason....
Twitter - Installed, could not log on. Got the error "Cannot create account" when trying to log in.
SuperSu - Installed, but once inside it said SU needed an update, and installation of that update failed.
Commenting to subscribe to the thread, excited to hear your plans and glad to see a bit more action around here.
I would suggest talking with Rayman ( posted the OTA download thread) he's also working on some development for it and I know we wanted to get some dumps from another ouya to confirm some things.
Definitely looking forward to the comments here. I received my Ouya today and excited to see what it can do.

I played around with it a little. I was able to stream in HD from icefilms with no major problems. The most glaring issue that I saw was if you have a video playing, and decide to pull up the menu, it can be pretty sluggish. I only played with it for about 10 minutes or so, though.
Ok, time for another update. I'm very pleased with the graphics and performance of the console for the games that are available. Puddle THD looks amazing on the big screen, and aside from the camera issues it always had, I'm loving playing Mario 64 with a wireless controller using Mupen 64.
Back on the hacking side, I was able to sideload Nova Launcher successfully, and it opens up a lot of extra options in the settings menu, but I haven't had time to play with them yet. I was with family from out of town all weekend, but I'll be back home tonight and really try to crack this box open. I'll try XBMC myself tonight, are there any other apps anyone would like me to try loading?

XBMC works great, but make sure to install the experimental "libstagefright" build for hardware acceleration support. If you could figure out Hulu that would be awesome, someone reported tweaking the APK a bit to get it working but never revealed what they did.
Yeah, I saw his post about it, with no followup. Hopefully the logcat will give me some insight into why it's crashing. It's a shame Ouya removed so much of the android framework that these apps rely on. I wonder if there will ever be an official Ouya release for some of these programs...

Well XBMC and OUYA both promise one for XBMC at least, and I read that they're in talks to have Hulu and Netflix officially supported as well. I imagine it'll all depend on how the reaction at launch goes.
It would be really nice, but given streaming media providers attitude toward root users I wouldn't be surprised if they refused to play nice. I still can't watch an Ultraviolet movie on my Nexus 7 without temp unrooting it...
For Hulu, find the Hulu for Google tv apk, I found it online.

Bluetooth not working
My controller and console work but the bluetooth on my console does not want to turn on so it just constantly tries to turn on so my controller can never connect.
Any help?
Do you have a usb keyboard and mouse to navigate with? if so I'd suggest going to the advanced settings menu (stock android settings) and try turning bluetooth on there. If you've already tried that and it doesn't work, your issue can be hardware or software. If it's hardware you're way past what I can help with, but if it's software these steps might work. Go to backup and reset under the same settings menu and do a factory reset. If that doesn't work the final step would be to follow the instructions to flash the latest ota software update through recovery. His instructions say to reboot and hit a key combination repeatedly to get recovery up, but if you have adb access you can just type "adb reboot recovery" in your terminal window and it will boot there directly.
Here's the link, good luck:
https://forums.ouya.tv/discussion/comment/11742/#Comment_11742
Thanks to MBM for the instructions, and Rayman for hosting the OTA downloads.
*disclaimer* I haven't tried this myself yet, but plan to tonight if you'd rather wait for a confirmation. Honestly though MBM has been working on the Ouya a lot longer than I have and his instructions line up with what I've done on other android devices. /*disclaimer*
one note about hulu plus. THe app you posted here 2.6 does not have options for keyboard control (which was indroduced in 2.8, the latest version.) for use with the controller, keyboards etc I have a copy of the apk which i will upload as soon as I have 10 posts and can post links (almost there haha). WHen I installed 2.8 by it self, it force closed but i was able to get it working by installing 2.6 from your post and then upgrading.

Help with emulators in kodi

I've only just recently started trying out emulators and nownim trying to launch them from within kodi. Its surprisingly not very straightforward, at least not for me. But I did somehow get my n64 ROMs to import. All the covers are there, however, eventhough all the ROMs launch in n64oid, very few work when I load them from within kodi??? I'm looking for anyntips. Thinking I'll eventually sort it out but now my issue is adding my new ROM collection on aftv. Using NES.emu ALL the ROMs work but the problem I have is I can't add emu as a source because it simply shows up nowhere on the sdcard. Tried uninstalling, tried moving it to another location but its just not there. N64oid and muppen show up just not NES.EMU...THAT might be what makes this a aftv problem more so than one I'd take to the kodi forums. Can someone tell me what going on? Thanks.

I think you are over complicating the whole thing. Add your Emulator as a Favorite and then add it to the shortcut. You can then remove it from the fav's. You will then have your emu as a shortcut that shows up always. As for roms. I'm not sure what you mean. Start the emu and then run your rom.
try retroarch. it has a lot of cores that work almost perfect on the ftv.

Seems that would be a simple approach to get it to show up but, and remember I'm new to this, the way I add it is through file manager so adding it as a kodi favorite won't fix that. But if that works for you I might need to try a different method.
I've used retroarch and it is easy to get working but read awhile back people had serious issues integrating it to kodi. In fact, i didnt read they actually got it working. You understand I want to scrape ROMs into a game library in kodi, right? I've been able to run emulators for awhile and set shortcuts to them from within kodi but I'm finding full integration to be much more tricky.
Thanks for the reply. The guides are a bit intimidating but not overly hard. What I'm really wondering is why this app isn't showing up?

Seems that would be a simple approach to get it to show up but, and remember I'm new to this, the way I add it is through file manager so adding it as a kodi favorite won't fix that. But if that works for you I might need to try a different method.
I've used retroarch and it is easy to get working but read awhile back people had serious issues integrating it to kodi. In fact, i didnt read they actually got it working. You understand I want to scrape ROMs into a game library in kodi, right? I've been able to run emulators for awhile and set shortcuts to them from within kodi but I'm finding full integration to be much more tricky.

retroarch works very well. In my case, I took the old retroarch api which works very well on the firetv and added the cores from the latest version and did an inbound signature so it passes the api signature using one click. I have the apk which you could use. Send me a PM and I'll share it with you if you like.
That would be great. PM sent. Thanks a lot!
Have you tried ROM Collection Browser and/or Advanced Launcher? You shouldn't really have to mess with sources with RCB so long as the directory that your roms are contained in (or a directory higher up the tree) is also added as a source.

I definitely will. Sorry. Havent had a lot of time to sit down and try it. But ill report here when i do. Hopefully soon!
Update--brilliant! Thanks again. Got everything to scan in. With the exception of some controller mapping and gameplay glitches which ill learn as i go, this was simple and painless.
Im big time into bells & whistles so eventually wouldlike to get newer emulators with gameplay videos running with fanart and covers but one thing at a time. Honestly if I'd known it would be this quick I wouldve done it sooner. Much appreciated!
