Hello friends, I have seen all the support this ROM has within it's community and thought it was about time we added our device to it. The E980Kernel+V0.8.1TEST is included with the current build. Report any bugs to me.
Happy flashing!

Not sure, I took that from crDroid's official thread. Perhaps they're talking about moving up to Lollipop, restoring KK apps is a terrible idea.

I restored xposed. Wasn't fun.
Ah well, his instructions said so, so I'll follow them. It's at your discretion whether or not to follow them
Is screen flickering present in this ROM...can it considered as a daily driver.

Best ROM hands down!! Flash you will not be disappointed, I know what you mean, I'm lazy too and totally hate to flash these half baked roms that these wannabe developers put out, but this one, this one is golden my friend.
Good Luck

Screen flickering is in all lollipop ROMs from what I can tell. I'd be lying if I told you I've flashed it and fully tested. I cannot switch ROMs as fast as I am building them right now. But choices are important to me, so I provide them for you all
You can always attempt to minimize it through dev settings by disabling HW overlays. I've had good results with that, but Snapchat and Trivia Crack do not play very nicely
I hate buggy ROMs too. Stay away from Paranoid for now. It's very underdone, at least the last build is. Of course that's also why it isn't released yet

After catching up and playing with the other lp roms a couple of days ago, I flashed this and have been enjoying it since. It's a bit lighter than some of the other roms and seems just as stable as bs so far. Both bs and cr ran better for me than the latest bliss 1.9, which had some funkiness with vibrations and fcs.
One funky thing regarding the comment about not using TiBackup to restore with this rom from the op...I said eff it and tried it anyway since Ti just updated compatibility for lp roms...half of my apps won't restore, even though they restore just fine on other lp roms. Oh well...Maybe there is something to cr not being friendly with Ti after all

Yeah, could be a ROM independent thing. Glad to hear you like it! Yeah after getting my butt up on lp I decided it was about time to bring up some ROMs. Thanks for the input and happy flashing!

sorry if this should be a dm and not cluttering this thread, but would you mind posting your local_manifest.xml for building this rom? i haven't tried building any lp roms and since you've been successfully building them, figure it might save me some time if i get around to updating my build env. for lp. and are you using the caf repos? i just noticed that cyanogen totally reworked the caf repos with "new" forks...i've been away from building for too long!

Local_manifest.xml... isn't that what users do for automated building per device? If so I set each one up on my own by doing some good ol' git clones and such. I'll dm you my steps if you'd like, I don't want to totally debunk this thread with a wall of text or whatever, but that question isn't an issue... no worries

ok, now i'm really derailing this thread, but i want to leave this here in case others find it useful in the future...
the local_manifest.xml/roomservice.xml is usually what folks use to tell repo which repositories to copy to your computer so that you don't have to git clone each one individually. see here for details: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_Using_manifests#The_local_manifest
by default, cm, and some of the other roms based on cm, now use a .dependencies json file, which is automatically parsed to create your local_manifest.xml inside the [buildroot]/.repo/local_manifests/ directory. so if you go into one of your build directories and navigate to .repo/local_manifests/, you should find an xml file there that specifies which additional repositories are used (e.g., caf based repos). if you want to pm me your setup, that works for me since your local_manifest.xml might not be setup correctly if you were manually overriding the build directories with git clones.
anyway, i highly recommend making use of the local manifests! it will make it much easier to build different roms with minimal setup time. you just clone the base repository, create your .repo/local_manifests/ directory, copy the local_manifest.xml (or roomservice.xml...same thing) over, and then repo sync and you should be ready to build. if you are using custom repositories, for example a custom kernel, you can specify that directly in the local_manifest with something like this:
<project path="kernel/lge/gproj" name="Snepsts/kernel_e980" remote="github" revision="cm-12.0" />

I'm sorry, I totally forgot about this post. I'll set up a local manifest for you to use and give instructions for the kernel modifications since that required mods for AOSPA.
I also love the ROM. Just flashed my two with this. Pacrom for backup. Kernel is steady as well. Thanks.

RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP,CM, and Paranoid Android features; with some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs, but this ROM is working well enough to be called a daily driver. Thanks for flashing and please report any issues, logs, complaints, wanted additions, or anything within reason ( while following XDA rules)... Enjoy

Known Issues
these "fixes" are only necessary if you are experiencing problems
if experiencing mms issues try this:
MMS confirmed working for a few in IRC.. send receive should work now if you're lucky and can follow directions.
1. Delete telephony.db located at /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db ...Open ES File Explorer > Press the menu button > Settings > Scroll to the bottom > Make sure "Root Explorer" is checked > Click "OK" > navigate to the directory starting from "/" (you could prob do this with the CM file explorer too)
2. Delete messaging Data...From home screen > Press menu button > Manage Apps > "All" tab > Find Messaging > Press "Clear data" button
3. Reboot. Clear cache if you want.
GPS issues:
go back to stock rom or a stock based rom ( a back up is sufficient )
Get a GPS lock and keep it for a few minutes ( make certain you are getting a lock from GPS and not your network or WiFi )
Flash back to ROOTBOX
That should solve any GPS problems
Battery drain issues:
if your experiencing major battery drain there are a few things you can try i will list a few here....
turn wifi, gps, bluetotth, and sync off when not using it
turn auto-brightness off and adjust it to your liking
lower sceen time-out to 15 or 30 seconds
try installing an app like greenify or batteryguru that will shut down apps that are running in the background
try changing your govenor from performance to powersave with an app like faux enhancement or trickstermod
try lowering your max freq. from 15+ to something a little lower
turn things like daydream off if you dont use it
try using wifi more often if able 3g/mobile data will suck the battery dry in no time
try looking in task manager to see if you have rouge apps hanging out.. if you do stop them
Try flashing smoocha kernel can find it in the android development section for this phone
these in no way are guaranteed to get you more life but they are a start to getting better life..hell it cant hurt only make it better
Camera focus issues:
Double tap instead of single tap
Switch to a different mode then back..(switch to HDR then back, switch to panorama then back)
Try the script method posted below
Try a third party camera app
Or try this: a quick hack work-around to anyone who has auto-focus working but only for the 1st app launch.
using smanager
* Install and launch smanager
* Make a new script with this in it
killall mm-qcamera-daemon
killall com.android.gallery3d
am force-stop os.tools.scriptmanager
am start -n com.android.gallery3d/com.android.camera.CameraLauncher
* Click on the script. Set it as "favorite" and highlight "SU". Save
* Add a shortcut on launcher. Select SMShortcuts.
* Select Add one script shortcut. Pick your script. Change the name/image to whatever you want.
* Hit OK and profit.
Need to thank sputnikk23 & prowlingfox for this workaround
or try with tasker method

To do this, In Tasker:
Create a new Task called "Load Camera".
Click the + sign.
Click on Script.
Click on Run Shell.
Paste the following into the Command section (note that the first line is missing - that's on purpose):
Code:
killall com.android.gallery3d
am force-stop os.tools.scriptmanager
am start -n com.android.gallery3d/com.android.camera.CameraLauncher
Check the box next to Use Root - not sure if this is needed or not, but it works fine if it's checked.
Click the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen to accept the changes for the shell command.
Click the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen again to accept the changes to the Task.
Click on the Profiles tab.
Click on the + sign.
I called my Profile "Load Camera"
Click on "Application".
Select Camera.
Click on the Tasker icon in the top left of the screen to accept the selection.
Click on the task that you created in the first steps to tie the profile to the task.
Enjoy....
Give it a shot and let me know if it doesn't work for you, but it works just great for me.

I used the banks minimal but as long as your using a current 4.2.2 gapps I think you'll be good... But I'm not a frequent rootbox user so whatever gapps people were using in rlasalle'$ thread should apply here... today is actually the longest I've been on rb
I was on RB before switching to your AOKP.... Now I gotta decide whether or not to switch back. Since I'm running a fresh 6/29 AOKP build, I may just backup and flash RB. Then I have both! YAY!

I know this issue has been said, but want to put it out there since this is a new thread. I still have the camera image stretched when not on HDR mode. Flashed RB w/Banks minimal.

Yeah that's an issue that's known and I believe the gang is working on it... you can more or less conclude that this ROM will have all of the same bugs that all of our aosp ROMs have.... We are all building from teamlgog source... Except for the kernel in this rom..... which syn is a listed member in teamlgog's Github so in a way it's still using their source for that as well..... In short it is being looked into though I can't exactly speak for them since I'm not a member... but if anything gets fixed it will be included

Has anyone encountered no LED and no hardware key backlight? I can seem to get them working. Check MD5 on the file and it checks out. Full wipe before install. Aside from that Ioving this ROM.

smashing! sounds awesome! I'm currently using Bubor's CM11, may give it a shot with this one. Any other bugs on your side mate? Excluding of course Skype, Voip, camera issues... I would like to try it as it seems to be a cool ROM, just making sure if anything else has been giving you issues... :fingers-crossed:

Great thanks. I will try it from stock just to be safe... Another question, sorry to bother so much, how's the battery life doing for this ROM? I am really looking forward to try it out and about the superuser, is it updated? I ask since the ROM I'm currently using (CM11) has the superuser under settings, however, apps like Titanium backup state that the repository is outdated.

Working smoothly! But can you update to latest cm source it fixes WiFi indicators not showing up
@stormdude124 will be updating very soon...
Flashed it yesterday, did it from stock just to be safe. So far so good. Had the same issue with broadcast messages, even if they were all off they kept coming up. However, I did what worked for me before using Link2SD and freezing the system app for broadcast messages. So far my only concern is RAM usage... It is never below 70%, when in Bubor's was usually between 50/60%. I uninstalled Google + & Gmail as they came in as system apps, and I was not able to Greenify them or anything. Downloaded them again now RAM is a little below 70%. But still not convinced with the performance, I'll see which other apps are doing this to fix my issue. Haven't been able to play games yet, I like all the available customizations, using Trebuchet launcher as I did not like Google launcher, there are no customizations at all ... Ok Google works perfectly, however I turned it off as my notifications during using it (speaking to the phone) were disorted. Pocket function worked fine, disabled it though, I believe it will cost some battery ... Will be checking over everything else today and will let you know... Thing I have encountered was mobile data not working, I believe it is an APN issue, but it was working good before, will get to work on that later. Overall, it has been a good ROM, I hope you keep up the great work and get us some future updates :highfive:
Do you guys have a working mobile data??? Never mind, APN setting issue as suspected. Solved :victory:

You are awesome mate! Thanks for the info BTW. I will download the new update tonight and will try Tiny fix as well. Many many thanks for your work. In other note you were right regarding battery usage, it has been the same as in Bubor's ROM so far. I kind of have a problem with the Halo though since I have BBM, CleanMaster & 360 Security, they have a constant bar in the notification panel, & Halo keeps popping them up all of the time... What's the difference in Halo configuration for white list & black list? I'm asking as I do not see any actual blacklist over the configurations for Halo

**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
This Rom seems stable, however, Nougat is new, so be prepared for some little hic-ups here and there.
A huge thanks to the Resurrection Remix team!
Another huge thanks goes out to @TJSteveMX for all of the great developement that he did on the Galaxy S4, T-Mobile variant! Since he no longer owns an S4, he has graciously allowed me to continue supporting Resurrection Remix for the JFLTETMO in an unofficial capacity. I know that there are a lot of Resurrection Remix users out there, so I wanted to make sure there was still a current release. Please note, this is an UNOFFICIAL ROM.
Disclaimer: Resurrection Remix is not responsible for any damages to your device.
All of my work is completely available for any who wish to use or modify it. I didn't make Resurrection Remix, the device trees, or vendor blobs. I simply used and edited existing material. A huge thanks should go to those who actually created this stuff.
This Unofficial Resurrection Remix Nougat ROM was built for and flashes on the JFLTETMO and JFLTEXX variants of the Samsung Galaxy S4. I have only tested it on the JFLTETMO. Please chime in if you tested it on the JFLTEXX. I used the JFLTEXX trees with modifications for the JFLTETMO, so it should work on both.

You're welcome! Thanks for the positive feedback.
By the way, do you prefer the pixel launcher or trebuchet?
I installed this and everything worked great, the only real issue i had was the battery would drain constantly. Just turning the screen on to glance at it would almost instantly drain 10-30% and required for me to keep the phone charge else it would be dead.
Good work as usual. We need that kernel cm root doesn't work perfectly. I can't uninstall some system app like trebuchet. I had to flash SuperSU and titanium backup to uninstall them. Everything else seems fonctionnal.

Well, you gents are in luck. After a little tinkering, by God's grace the new RR 5.8.0 kernel is up in the Nougat kernel thread!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile/development/kernel-nougat-kernels-t3492592
Give that a try and let's see how the battery life goes. I know there are several comments on the AOKP 7 about battery life being better on Nougat, but we shall see. Question, is that with Bluetooth on or off? I have noticed that Bluetooth seems to be somewhat of a battery drainer, but in 2 days of use, playing with the camera constantly, the battery has held up pretty well for me on RR.
Hey @AlaskaLinuxUser
I've been playing with it for 2 days. No big issues. I know you are probably busy but I have a request. Is it complicated to compile a rom from another device tree? ex http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9506-develop/rom-resurrection-remix-m-t3377309. Since cmte is not going anywhere yet he compile RR with oms...Can you port it for us aka me too. And also your RR kernel doesn't have fast charge yet ...

Great questions....
The i9506 has a different CPU, different hardware. To be honest, I am not very skilled at porting. I build ROMs from source, which is different than porting. As for compiling with their tree, well, that can get complicated across devices.
One of the major factors for things like fast charge is proper editing of the kernel. Unfortunately, with Nougat and the new build tools, they instituted new ISO standards, and new rules which make it difficult for old school "uneducated" (no official training) fellows like myself.
For instance, for nougat, they now programmed the build system to error and bail out if you use a cflag. They decided that cflags are not allowed. That probably makes sense, but all of my device trees have cflags in them. So, I actually dug through their tools and disabled the bail function of the error checker. So now it checks for cflags, says there is an error, but continues the build anyways.
All that to say the new kernel and build tools says that several lines of code for many of my usual kernel edits are not compliant with ISO standards and bails out of the build. I have not found workarounds for all of them yet.
However, the oms build you referenced with substratum is an interesting story.
If you go to RR's website, you will see that they specifically requested that the builders not add oms support to RR ROMs. This was at the request of theme builders. But, as my RR ROMs are definitely unofficial, I wouldn't mind adding it, but unfortunately, with the November security updates, oms causes infinite boot loops anyways. So, with those two things together, I will not be able to add that to this ROM. See post #3 for the screenshot of RR's request to not add oms support to official or unofficial builds.
I hope that sheds some light on these things. But your questions and feedback are always welcome!
New kernel is up in the Nougat Kernel thread!
Praise God, new kernel is up!
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that the OP is updated with the new kernel, including intelliplug, an alternative to mpdecision for hotplugging. This controls how many cores are used at once. You have to use Kernel Adiutor or some similar app to control it. Intelliplug has several options that show up in the Kernel Adiutor as well. Let me know what you think!

First of all a big THANK YOU for keeping up the good work on this ROM, thank you also for keeping our phones updated with Android N. I Love this rom and it's working great.
I have some questions:
1 - I am not able to enable the Portable Wifi Hotspot, is this because it's still beta or do I have to do something to be able to enable it (the setting on Tethering & Portable Hotspot is greyed out and I can't change it).
2 - Is it possible to integrate the option to change Wifi Region in Wifi Advanced Options as it is on Resurrection Remix 5.7.3?
3 - Is it possible to configure the new RR Kernel (for example with Kernel Adiutor) in order to not overclock the phone? I would like to use it, but I don't need to overclock my phone (I feel more comfortable using it with stock values, not overclocking). Which values should I modify in order to remove the overclocking?
Thank you very much in advance.

AlexOnay, thanks for the kind words and great questions!
#1. This was just brought to my attention in the AOKP nougat ROM I made as well. I will be looking closely at this soon, as I use WiFi hotspots myself to overcome home internet limited download service, just had not needed it yet with all of the holiday activities.
#2. That is such a great question that I will have to look it up and get back to you on that.... E.g., I don't know right now, but plan to learn more about this.
#3. Yes, in kernel adiutor, go to CPU and set max CPU to anything you desire as the maximum, such as one step down from 1998 MHz, which is the original, non-overclocked frequency. The same for GPU, go to GPU, choose max frequency, and select any frequency as the new maximum, such as one down from the top, so as not to over clock it either.
For both the CPU and GPU, only the top, or highest, frequency is over clocked, the rest of the frequencies are stock.
I hope that helps, and thanks for some positive critical feedback! It's only a community if we all participate in the discussion!
Just an FYI for the group: RR is based on cyanogenmod, and cyanogenmod was completely derailed this past week. Yes, cyanogenmod as we know it is dead. Their websites are already pulled down. However, Cyanogen, the creator of cyanogenmod has started a new ROM, so all is not lost. AOSP ROMs still will live on, and groups like the RR team will find new paths forward.
Happy New Year!

@AlaskaLinuxUser thank you once again for your quick response and your advice and Happy New Year. First of all I have to apologize because there's no problem with Wifi Hotspot on you ROM. It works fine. The problem I had was due to a hack I tried in order to enable Google Assistant on the ROM (which works great, by the way). In order to enable Google Assistant, we have to modify build prop by changing the phone model to a Pixel XL, after that, the Wi-fi hotspot option turns grey and it's not "touchable". That was the first thing I did when I installed the rom (I mean, I changed build prop line in order to enable Google Assistant) and that's why I wasn't able to enable the Wi-Fi Hotspot in the first place (that's why I thought there was a problem with it). But after I wrote to you asking about the problem, I realized that maybe that "change of device" I made in build prop (which I almost forgot by the time I wrote the post here asking for advice) maybe had to do something with Wifi Hotspot. So I reverted the build prop line about the phone model to jfltexx (and even tried with jfltetmo) and Wi-Fi hotspot option became operational again, so I can confirm that it works as expected, so, again, I apologize.
About integrating the Wi-Fi Region Change option as it's on Resurrection Remix 5.7.3, it would be GREAT if you could do it. That is one of the biggest problems we users of Galaxy S4 have when Wi-Fi region mismatch with SIM region, Wi-Fi becomes "blind" and the phone can't connect at all to any Wi-Fi. I've seen other Samsung Phones/Tablets and they don't have that "problem" (even in low ranged Phones/Tablets), I don't know why Samsung keep doing it with the S line of phones (I believe with the Note 4 updates and more recent models the Wi-Fi restriction is eliminated, my Sister's Note 4 works great, my mom's Galaxy Core works great). So, back to S4, if we have that option integrated on the rom, we just have to go to Wi-Fi Advanced Settings and define Wi-Fi REgion Code to (for example) United States, and Wi-Fi works again almost instantly. Thank you for saying you will investigate this and get back. Thank you, it's really important. In the mean time, I found a workaround for the Wi-Fi Region problem, I'll share it so other users can benefit from it:
Install the app called "Settings Database Editor" (current version is v2016.07.25), then connect the phone to PC and through a root ADB Shell input the following command (without quotes):
"adb shell pm grant by4a.setedit android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS"
This will remove the read only protection from several DB (including the one which stores the Wi-Fi Region Code) so it will be possible to edit the line with the app.
If after doing the edit on the app, Wi-Fi Still goes "blind", then: First put the phone on airplane mode, then with Settings Databse Editor change the Wifi Region Code Line to "US" and reboot the phone: Wi-fi will work again. Once you get out of airplane mode the SIM will restore the Wi-Fi Region Code again to "blind" mode, but at least with the workaround it's possible to use Wi-Fi, I hope it helps other users while you find the way to integrate the option of RR to change Wi-Fi Region Code in Wi-Fi Advanced Options.
About stock values for CPU and GPU: Are these the default?:
CPU - 1890Mhz
GPU - 450MHz
One more question, still no progress on Video Recording issue?
And about Cyanogenmod, I read the news, sad, but let's see what happens with LineageOS. I hope that RR will find the way to keep going on with their work, and I hope you can keep going on with your great work on this ROM, thank you again for keeping us (and our S4) updated.
.... So I reverted the build prop line about the phone model to jfltexx (and even tried with jfltetmo) and Wi-Fi hotspot option became operational again, so I can confirm that it works as expected, so, again, I apologize.

-->Yes.
One more question, still no progress on Video Recording issue?
-->Actually, I made an app that uses root permission to make video recordings up to 3 minutes long (can be shorter, there is now a stop button). I am not much of a programmer, but here is my app so far, and my post in the AOKP 7 thread: (You can read that thread to learn the other nuances if you would like!)
S4camera version 0.9 is up:
MediaFire link: S4camera_0.9.apk
https://www.mediafire.com/download/1bv63bbk641128r
Now you can stop a recording while it is recording!
The record button changes to a stop button during video recordings, allowing you to stop a recording while it is in progress.
There is still no audio recorded, and exiting the app during a recording causes your screen to be recorded.
Even though you can stop the recording, a video cannot be longer than three minutes.
.....
I hope you all enjoy it. Still a work in progress, but the stop button to stop recording really helps. Do keep in mind that the app still cannot record longer than your preset timer of 1 or 3 minutes due to other limitations.
Happy new year!

-->That's the plan! And you are welcome. I can't take all the credit though, lots of team players are making this all work, from the Google code writers to the RR team, to the security patchers, kernel writers, device tree makers, and then ROM cookers like myself.
Good Morning...
I will preface this with saying I am a NOOB.
I have successfully rooted my S4 (with towel root)
I do not want to clog your thread with a bunch of "how do I " questions, so I will just ask if there is a "noob-friendly" version of how to install your ROM so I can get more of a step-by-step guide.
I am on the latest stock ROM, and want to move up mainly for the memory management (using the SD card as internal storage).
Again, sorry for the noobiness... and thanks a lot for the help.
Terry

Actually, the Wi-Fi Region Code is not a problem or a bug "per se", it's just the (annoying) way it is designed in some phones. There's an instruction on mcc table (inside a Telephony.jar file inside framework) that instructs the phone to change Wi-Fi Region Code everytime the cell turns on and reads values from the Sim card inserted on the phone. If region of the Sim Card is not "known" to the phone, then all Wi-Fi channels get blocked, but if you edit the value to "US" or "JP", several channels gets activated and Wi-Fi gets to "see" the Wi-Fi networks. To put US as defeault would work, but as long as the phone reads from SimCard in every reboot or reset, the "problem" will rise again. The Wi-Fi Region Code option on RR 5.7.3 (I think it's a Cyanogenmod implementation since CM 12) what really does is to change the value without the needing of resetting, and gives the option of several Region Codes, so anyone in the World have access to change to any region and then the Wi-Fi is able to "see" all the channels. I found a thread here that explains the cause and how to remove it, in theory if you decompile a file, change the line causing to read the value from SIM Card and recompile again, then the "problem" goes away because the Wi-Fi Region Code is not re-setted anymore everytime the phone boots up or gets out of airplane mode. Unfortunately I have not enough knowledge about decompile and recompile files, but maybe you can check it out. It's here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43709352

AlexOnay,
Could you do me a favor? The file that is edited, can you save it after you unlock it with the adb command? Once saved elsewhere, can you make it "blind" again, then, unlock the file for editing and overwrite your file with the saved file you made as a backup? Hope that made sense....
If so, I can make an app that will overwrite that file with the one you saved. E.g, we could make several different saved versions of the file, and overwrite the original with whichever coded file we want. Then, in my app you would have a choice for whichever code you want of the ones we make. If you are willing to do a little groundwork on it, that would be great! If not, then I will jump on it later.

-Unzip Odin.
-Turn on your phone (normal turn on) boot up into the stock system.
-plug in your phone, let Windows find the drivers.
-Once Windows found your drivers, unplug the phone, turn your phone off.
-open Odin.exe
-Click on PDA, and choose the TWRP file you downloaded.
-With your phone unplugged and off, Now press and hold the DOWN volume button and the power button.
-When the phone vibrates, you can release the power button, but keep holding the down button.
-You will see a warning screen. Release the down button, and press the volume up button to enter "download" mode.
-Plug your phone into the computer.
-Press start/ok button on Odin.
You should see a blue bar on your phone screen that fills up from left to right. Odin should say "pass" or "success". Your phone should automatically reboot itself. If this did not happen, seek help. Seriously. :D

have you figured out a way to use both the wifi hotspot and google assistant or are you forced to enable either 1 or the other? i am currently on the aokp nougat rom and have also enabled the google assistant (installed google as system app and modified ro.product.model=Pixel). i need to abandon the aokp rom because the dhcp server is confirmed broken which prevents the wifi hotspot from working, but if i have to choose between the hotspot and google assistant i'm not so sure now.

FAQ:
So you want to enter the competitive world of professional ROM flashing? If so, you need to take your phone flashing to a new level. How can you position yourself and your expertise so you are the dev's obvious choice? Be honest. Do you enjoy troubleshooting? Do you have a problem with things going wrong? If so, then you might be better off staying on your current OS.
If you are still reading this and are sitting in your chair thinking: “I could do that, if I tried”, then maybe you have a chance.
If you can't read, watch this video: https://youtu.be/JmvCpR45LKA
Q: I flashed an update and lost TWRP
A: You need to re-flash the TWRP file via fastboot.
Q: I want to use this ROM, but I don’t want root. Is that possible?
A: You’re in luck. This ROM does not come pre-rooted. So you can use this with no root if you desire. Although, I’m not sure why you would want to do that, but you can.
Q: My phone reboots randomly
A: Use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops (command: adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops) after the reboot and post that. Try to include what you were doing when experiencing the reboot. Also refer to the next question before filing any reports.
Q: I’m having weird crashes/reboots
A: Do you have other third party software installed such as a different kernel, Magisk, sound mods, etc.? Remove all of these before submitting a bug report. Reports made with unsupported software like what is listed above will not be addressed.
Q: Will this ROM receive frequent Security Updates?
A: Yes
Q: Does this ROM pass SafetyNet?
A: It should if you don’t flash root when installing the ROM, since it doesn’t come loaded with root out of the box. If you want root, Magisk will allow you to pass SafetyNet.
Q: Does OTA work?
A: Yes
Q: Do I need to do a clean install?
A: If you’re coming from another ROM, yes. If you’re already running ours, a dirty flash should be fine unless otherwise specified. If you have problems, try a clean flash before reporting issues. Refer to an above question if you are coming from a stock-based ROM or are possibly encrypted.
Q: Will you add stuff to the ROM?
A: *insert perhaps cow meme here*
Q: Is this a Stock based ROM?
A: No
Q: Does the camera work?
A: See the OP for current stuff not working

Release the Kraken!!!
Cant flash it on modified TWRP (multiROM) - says rom is for cheeseburger, i got Oneplus5 (or other way around, cant remember).
I will flash it tomorrow when i have more time - i think its only because of the modified recovery.
Best regards
Really excited to flash this, thanks for the hard work
Quick question, I notice the title says OOS camera, does this mean portrait mode works? Thank you!

You can mod the updater script in the zip to remove this check, I'll add more "options/device names" in the next build.

I'm working on it from few days and no, portrait is still not working(disabled). If I enable it the cam close every 10 sec on any other mode, but works flawlessly on portrait mode...
Sorry, double post for some unknown to me reason...

-I flashed an update and lost TWRP
->If you have access to a computer, go to 1. No computer and s-off go to 2. No computer and s-on go to 3.
You need to re-flash the TWRP file via fastboot.
Go to this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/2016-05-27-fastboot-flashing-firmware-t3387520
Read the instructions before flashing anything. Make sure you choose the right file.
Refer to this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72875043&postcount=2059
-How can I prevent the loss of TWRP when updating?
->You need to flash root to prevent TWRP from being overwritten.
Note that this is only true for older builds as of July 2017. The problem with TWRP has been resolved as of the first official release of July 2017.
-I’m coming from Viper or some other stock-based ROM. What do I need to do?
->If you’re encrypted, you need to format (different than wipe. You have to type “yes” in TWRP) your internal storage.
1. This will wipe everything from your internal storage including TWRP folder with backups, titanium backup, etc. If you have anything you want to keep, move it to external storage or back it up to the computer before proceeding.
2. If you’re not encrypted, just do a normal wipe (system, cache, dalvik, data) and flash the ROM, gapps, and either SuperSU or Magisk for root.
-I want to use this ROM, but I don’t want root. Is that possible?
->You’re in luck. This ROM does not come pre-rooted. So you can use this with no root if you desire. Although, I’m not sure why you would want to do that, but you can.
-My phone reboots randomly
->Use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops (command: adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops) after the reboot and post that. Try to include what you were doing when experiencing the reboot. Also refer to the next question before filing any reports.
-I’m having weird crashes/reboots
->Do you have other third party software installed such as a different kernel, Magisk, sound mods, etc.? Remove all of these before submitting a bug report. Reports made with unsupported software like what is listed above will not be addressed.
-Will this ROM receive frequent Security Updates?
->Yes.
-Does this ROM pass SafetyNet?
->It should if you don’t flash root when installing the ROM, since it doesn’t come loaded with root out of the box. If you want root, Magisk will allow you to pass SafetyNet.
-Does OTA work?
->Yes.
-Do I need to do a clean install?
->If you’re coming from another ROM, yes. If you’re already running ours, a dirty flash should be fine unless otherwise specified. If you have problems, try a clean flash before reporting issues. Refer to an above question if you are coming from a stock-based ROM or are possibly encrypted.
-Will you add stuff to the ROM?
->*insert perhaps cow meme here*
-Is this a Sense based ROM?
->No.
-Does the camera work?
->See the OP for current stuff not working.
-Will Stock camera work on this ROM?
->No.

I cant do anything for a deivce that even know I own, its broken.. So without the device to test things, No way in HELL will I do all that.........
you know that when I dev, I flash many many many many times back 2 back within 5 mins apart sometimes.. The so called testers are
unreliable and I dont have the time to deal with all that.................
Clean flash with current opengapps full.
- In settings, Pure Fusion Settings -> Hardware Keys, leads to a blank white screen.
- Sound -> Phone ringtone, I select the same mp3 song I've used for years and it doesn't play. When I receive a call there is also no sound. This happened on another rom I tried recently.
- you should probably mention in the install section the need to flash magisk or supersu to get root.
- it's a matter of taste but I enjoy orbiting atoms boot display, the popup picture not so much.

I want to thank you for your work with this rom for the LG G3
I installed it on my cell phone after having used all this time the stock rom
The rom works very well, at least so far I have not seen major failures.
You only have a few points to polish (in my opinion)
# I think there is a problem when looking for networks.
The cell phone does not let you search for networks and apparently does not detect 4G networks, the H+ sign appears in the upper bar (it seems that it only detects 3g networks). I do not think this is a configuration problem of mine since I have everything configured correctly with the correct APN's.
# Another mistake I think is when unlocking the phone, sometimes by pressing the unlock button the cell phone opens the camera. I don't know if it's because I do it very fast and I press another button at the same time or something like that (but in my opinion it's not that)
# On the other hand, I think you should improve the camera a lot. sometimes errors appear on the screen when opening the camera, like violet lines or distortions that later they disappear. Also the interface is not very pleasant to the user and I think the image quality is not what it should be.
I think those would be the biggest "failures" I've seen so far.
I also think it would be nice to add the LG "Knock-Code" unlock function, I think most people who use this cell phone use that function to block it. I find it easy to use and quite safe
Anyway, I hope you do not find this message as a criticism, but as a contribution from a user
And forgive me if my English is not good
Greetings and thanks
My IR blaster isn't working on this ROM, but was working before on the stock software. Is this "normal"?

If blaster only works on stock and stock a based Rom I believe. You should Google it and you might find a semi working method.

IR has worked on every ROM I've used on the G3 so it's not normal that it doesn't work on Pure Fusion.
It's been a long time since I tried the ROM so I don't remember if it worked for me or not.
If I can free up some space I may check it out and see if I have the same problem.

@mawdogbe,
Sorry it took so long. Had to wait for a day off, backup and remove the second ROM, etc. etc.
The IR works just fine in Pure Fusion for me. I installed the LG Quick Remote port and was able to control my Vizio TV. So the ROM is good in that regard.
What app were you using for IR?
EDIT: I throw this out every so often. Still running @Eliminater74's PAC-MAN from July 2015. Me and that ROM just can't part ways. LOL.

It was a 3rd party IR controller app. My G3 is currently acting a little weird but I'll see if I can try the quick remote port.
