[Q] Power Bank - Xperia Z1 Accessories

Nowadays i am thinking of buying a power bank for my trips...
I am restricted to a greek site called "skroutz.gr" (It's actually a greek search engine to buy stuff) and I found "Portable Charger Romoss Sailing 4" at the price of 40 euros(37 euros with 3 extra for the transfer to my home).
The product is available here and from what I see in the description it says "Includes 2 usb (2.1A and 1A)"....
Will 1A work on my Z1 and what are the dis/advantages? I think 2.1A is dangerous for our battery but not so sure about it...
If you need any translation on the site I can do it for you (instead of the crappy google translate )

Can u get the Xiao mi power bank from where u are?
This thing is cheap and brilliant. In fact the power bank is so good almost 9 out of 10 ppl here with a smart phone has it
Incredible stuff

Yes, it will work. However, Romoss is a brand that has many imitations, just like Xiaomi. Romoss clones are harder to spot, but Xiaomi has some authenticity features like logos inside the USB ports, and so on.
Secondly, the using either output will not be bad for the battery or your phone. 1A and 2.1A are the maximum values that each port can output, and this does not mean it is constant. Almost all modern phones will have a current limiter that draws only the maximum amount of current needed for that device. You can plug in any device to the 2.1A port, but only devices that support Quick Charge or tablets will draw the maximum current. If you plug in an iPhone 6, it will draw only 1.3A.

quick car charger 2.0

I just bought iVoler car charger to try it because the price was low and the reviews said it was quality made. I Just received this the other day, and I plugged in my Z3 compact and it said Z3 compact detected, so it indeed does support the Qualcomm Quick Charging feature! Charging was fast and held strong with my Z3 compact..Charging the battery from 0 to 50% in about 30 minutes. And the 6 foot USB cable is of good quality and really nice. It also fits into my Z3 compact with a nice click, and fits well around my case. I will definitely buy more of these!
The great product need to be shared.

Which version of android are you using? A lot of people have had bad luck with quick chargers only charging at the same speed as a standard charger. Glad to see yours seems to live up to the hype.
thank you a lot for sharing the info!
Im about to build a quickcharger by my own, just have to figure out what components ( resistor, or an IC) sits on the Data+ and Data- pins of the usb cable. Tried simply giving 9/12V on the usb power pins( no fear, since quicharge2.0 gives this voltage anyway), no luck here, it just does not charge- the phone does not say its connected, no current flows from the charger to phone.
I do not have a QuickCharge certified real charger in hands, where I can see by myself, what they put between Data pins in order the phone to recognize " its a fast charger" . Googled theinternet for schematics, didnt find a lot, most are just using an IC, which directly connects to the data pins. And I dont want to buy an IC or a quickcharger( which is hard to get in my country btw, cos bying it from Ali or Ebay/Amazon means you have to convert currency to USD).
anyways, I think its a good idea, if ppl put here the chargers and link to them that actually WORKED, plus ROM/android version/kernel/etc
Hi I'm also interested in this article, but i wouldn't want to spend >35€ for the original Sony AN420. Any other suggestion on quality-proved products? I don't want to electrical risks for my SoC at all.
I am using this one - sorry its german: http://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B00UIY...charge+2+0&dpPl=1&dpID=31l4Z16n0JL&ref=plSrch
Bought the iVoler and I'm satisfied

The more I read about this, the less likely it appears that QC 2.0 is enabled on our devices. The general assumption seems to be that only the Japanese variants actually support quick charging - despite the processor being certified by Qualcomm
I bought an Aukey charger... but Quickcharge 2.0 is not detected.

JDB® 18W USB Turbo Travel Quick Charger AC Wall Charger 2.0 QUICK CHARGE

Before i get to how much i loved this JDB® 18W USB Turbo Travel Quick Charger AC Wall Charger i just want to say how happy i was to see a company include a USB cable that's useable, i own so many wall chargers and every one has the usual 3ft (if your lucky) USB cable but the JDB® 18W USB Turbo Travel Quick Charger AC Wall Charger has a full 6ft USB cable so that was very refreshing to see. Ok on to the good stuff, If your lucky enough to own a device with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 Technology this unit is a great buy, at just $14.99 its the cheapest unit i own and packed with all the features of a much more expensive unit. Its built with Qualcomm® officially authorized Quick Charge 2.0 Technology which allows your device to charge up to 75% faster than a standard charger if you have a Snapdragon 800 based device such as:Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 4/Edge, Nexus 6, Sony Xperia Z4, Z4 Tablet, Z3, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tablet Compact, Z2 Tablet, Motorola Droid Turbo, Moto X 2014, HTC One M9, HTC One (M8), HTC Butterfly 2,One Remix (Verizon Mini 2), Desire EYE, LG G Flex2, LG G4, Xiaomi Mi3, Mi4, Mi Note,Asus Transformer T100, Asus Zenfone 2, Yota Phone 2 ,Sharp Aquos Pad,Zeta,Sharp SH01G/02G,Fujitsu Arrows NX,F-02G,F-03G,F-05F,Kyocera Urbano L03,LeTV One Max,Pro,Panasonic CM-1,and more added every day. i own 5 such devices but for review im using my daily driver which is a NEXUS 6 and i love this unit compared to the motorola OEM (stock) charger provided. This unit is much smaller and thats big plus for me as i carry my wall charger at times to other peoples houses and as you can see from pictures this unit is much smaller. Size specs are (2.12 x 1.41 x 0.50 inch) and its also Worldwide 110 - 240V AC input,5V/2A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A output so i can use it anywhere i travel and some may not know but unit also charges all non-Quick Charge 2.0 phones and tablets at their normal speed (up to 5 volts / 2A) so JDB has you covered. Lets talk a little safety, JDB® Quick Charge 2.0 Wall Charger is officially certified by UL Ventures on behalf of Qualcomm, multiple built-in safeguards fully protect against over-current, overcharging and overheating for safe and fast charging so no need to worry about safety of your device. In the box you get: Get: JDB® Quick Charge 2.0 Wall Charger with 6ft/2M Metal Sync & Charging Micro USB Cable and full 18 Month Worry-Free Warranty so they also stand by there product.Few testing stats for my NEXUS 6 were as follows, phone was at 1% and in 30min time i was at 38% and at 1 hour i was at 76% then i needed phone so to get to 100% you can add maybe 15min more and my OEM (stock) charger takes well over 2hrs to charge from 1% to full. Overall i loved this unit and highly recommend it to anybody looking for a great Qualcomm Quick Charge unit, easy 5 stars from me. For more info and reviews visit me at http://www.teckgeeks.com/

[REVIEW] Coocheer 40W 5-Port Desktop Wall USB Super Charger with Smart Charging

[REVIEW] Coocheer 40W 5-Port Desktop Wall USB Super Charger with Smart Charging & Surge Protector
Disclaimer: I was provided this item free of charge specifically to review without any influence.
OVERVIEW:
After being misled by an early version Anker 5 Port charger (reviewed here) and reviews by others, I was a little apprehensive about this Coocheer 5 Port “Super Charger” CH-072, partly because of its limited brand recognition and also by the poorly written, somewhat vague English product descriptions online which follows into the literature that comes with the package.
This Coocheer charger did surprise me as it appears to charge everything I own, especially my Logitech Harmony 700 remote and my Hp Touchpad modified for Android Kit-Kat/CM11 (the original Anker unit had problems with them). Although I don’t have any Apple devices to try with it, I’m confident it would charge those as well.
According to the literature it only has 2 ports with “Smart Charging” (the 2 higher output Super Charger ports) to determine what device type is attached, but all my android devices charged at the full speed (AC Charging) of each port which is good and means each device was able to get the max output from each port (ports 1-3 = 1.0A Max and “Super Charger” Ports 4&5 = 2.4A Max). Perhaps the “Smart Charging” feature is actually on all 5 ports, but I can’t verify it. The Coocheer charger also worked with my Nexus 5 Qi Charge base and my LG G4’s extra battery charging cradle.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
The literature indicates some downsides such as the limited number of “Smart” ports to determine the device plugged into it. Why all 5 ports don’t officially have this feature is beyond me (but it might) and it would be nice if each port was capable of the same max output rating (like some other brands). Another downside from the booklet says that the ports may get ‘confused’ if switching from a Samsung to Apple to Android device etc and may need a power reset by pulling the plug. If that is true, it would be much easier to have added a power switch similar to Coocheer’s Desktop Charging Station which looks like it has a nice slot for holding your phone plus 2 extra outlets. I would also like to see a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 Port on some of these multi-port chargers, but that is still relatively new technology.
Overall I am pleased with Coocheer’s 5 port Super Charger. It doesn’t have every feature but it gets the job done, charges all my devices and cleans up the clutter of outlet strips and wall chargers that were cluttering up my end table.
EXTRA ‘TECHY’ STUFF:
If you plug ANY android device into a standard charger/port designed only for an "Apple" product (or a PC’s USB port), that port may only charge the android device at a measly 0.5 amps (500ma) "USB Charging" vs. a charger/port designed for an "Android" product at max charge rate for the port/device (ie 1.0+ amps) "AC Charging".
See SETTINGS - BATTERY (or SETTINGS - ABOUT PHONE - STATUS - BATTERY) to verify for yourself while plugged in with a stock device/kernel.
Android devices have 4 charging states:
1) "AC Charging" (i.e. your typical android wall charger, originally referred to as "Fast Charge")
Data pins are directly shorted together in the charger to tell the device what it should do. No data communication is
possible to the device. It will charge at the maximum rate of either the charger or device, whichever is lower.
2) "USB Charging" (i.e. plugged into your pc's port)
Data pins are NOT shorted ('open') and data communication is still possible with the device.
3) "Charging Wireless"
(i.e. Nexus 5 on 'Qi' charger)
4) “Fast Charging” (Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0)
(not sure about this as I don’t have a charger that supports it yet with my LG G4)
This looks very interesting, I am just curious if anyone has seen usb cables tied on a bunch/group of 5 that look nice?

what is your favorite fast charger for the le max 2?

Hello guys,
as the title already says I'd like to know what is your favorite charger for the Le Max 2?
Do you guys all think that the OEM charger from LeEco is the best considering the charging speed or did you find even faster solutions?
Curious for your answers!

Dear collegue. I am yet waiting for my X822. Maybe you could give me some information how long does it take you to fully charge your X820 from 0% and are you satisfied?
regards Olek
If the phone is off, I need about 1h30min. to full charge it when it is not in quick charge. First time I used QC and the phone heated up so that's why I know use the normall method.
For me it takes 1h20min with phone on and the capacity of the battery is correct measured with small USB tool. Fast charging is sometimes 8V and 2.5 A.

got the X822 aka the grey version in transit, couldnt resist it at 222US, ewen thow im not in the market for new mobile, allready pretty satified with the p8max that i like a lot and that dont got any quickcharge tech at all afaik, other then just plain 1.9amp charge cycle., according to my YZXstudio1270 meter, but the 4300mah takes here around 2.15 hour to fill, but slowing down massive the last 5 to 10% like the norm.
that tempo is fine by me, but have also purchased the Vinsic P3 terminator with QC and type C in & out. intended for the X822. seemed reasonable at 28US and with product-specs that shouldnt be to fare for real-world according to reviews.
JUst wondering if you can trick QC3.0 trigger on other devices, got an relative old usb trigger for QC, but no QC phones or at least chargers to check if 9v and 12v can be optainable and be used for ones 12v coreM tablet, just like that and push of an button..
anyway certainly looking forward for my first entry into my first QC device Lemax2 X822 and not least typeC.. LeMax2 lookzs wicked in grey. .:good:

You are sure that the quick charge is actually off.?
when checking on mine X822 and turning the knob in setting < battery < quick charge' to not active.
it still display the same voltage and above +6v to around 9v dynamic.. (its the same when the phone is off)
its like the "quick charge off function" doesnt do anything at all. (am on stock X822 assume its 16s EUI'build)
if you got an usb-meter, try to measure if the voltage actually stays around usb 5v level when turning the quick charge off. (mine it doesnt on stock QC charger)
// digitalnasarma it was on AliE ref CB.

According to qualcomm, it is. My le max 2 shipped with charger EQ-24BUS.
https://www.qualcomm.com/documents/quick-charge-device-list
I'd like a charger for night-time charging. Does anyone know if there are ill effects by leaving your phone on quick charge for extended periods and doing so daily?
And would one risk damaging this phone by using any other 'regular' charger?
Any charger should be safe, just make sure the cable you use has Pullup resistor of 56kΩ, without that 56k chip all kinds of stuff can go wrong. usb A to usb C is a really bad setup and you'll need that chip for protection..
Thanks castuis. Best thing I learned today This (and this thread w/charger links) is good to have.
So Which charger and cable are the best for the price? Original or something else. And where to buy with shiping to EU?

This is by far the best way to buy cables and chargers. You will learn way more than you ever wanted about USB accessories.
I bought the multi pack of Orzly cables , they are the best, relatively cheap... Sturdy.... And won't burn up your phone/house.

Right, but those links mostly focus on USB C standard, not QuickCharge 3.0, which I believe technically violates USB C standards. I'd still suggest sticking to cables confirmed to have the correct pull-up resistor, and if you want to use USB power delivery rather than QuickCharge technology you can also stick to chargers and power banks from that list. I think QuickCharge 2.0/3.0 will still charge faster than USB power delivery though, in which you probably won't find them on that list.
In any case, I bought an 1 port Aukey QuickCharge 3.0 car charger and it seems to work well to charge up to 4 amps. I also bought an Aukey 10000 mAh QuickCharge 2.0 power bank, and it too seems to charge my phone at up to 4 amps. Both were bought from Amazon Canada. I use them either with the cable that came with my phone or good micro USB cables and Tronsmart Micro USB to USB C adapters (which have the appropriate pull-up resistor.)

[REVIEW] DoDoCool 5 port USB charger

First thing's first - thank you to DoDoCool for offering me this charger in exchange for a fair and unbiased review! Free product or not, fair and unbiased reviews is all that I'll do!
This charger is exactly what it sounds like. It plugs into your electrical outlet and gives you 5 USB outlets to power/charge all of your toys.
Two of those outlets are Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 compliant, the other 3 are standard USB.
My tests were pretty basic. I charged the following items all at the same time:
My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (via Quick Charge port)
My LG V495 (G Pad F 8.0 via quck charge port, although the tablet doesn't support quick charge)
My Wife's Microsoft Lumia 640 (standard USB port - phone doesn't support quick charge)
My EasyAcc 20,000 mAh power bank (used two of the standard USB ports in tandem)
All the devices charged up as expected, in fact the Lumia 640 seems to have charged faster than with the OEM charger. The EasyAcc power bank filled up quite quickly (as it should considering I was double-feeding it, and yes ,that's a supported feature on that power bank) , and the S7 Edge and LG tablet both charged as I would have expected them to with the same speed as the OEM chargers.
The beauty of this all - ONE power outlet being used. No more wall-warts all over the place or having to use a power strip to plug everything into.
Also, there was no noticeable temperature increase of the charger even with all 5 ports being used.
With a price point of $24.99 on Amazon, I'd recommend this product to ANYONE who has a lot of USB devices and limited outlets, or who just wants to consolidate into just one wall plug!
