Possible modem problems? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I constantly get an exclamation by my data connection. I was getting LTE or 4g and now I almost never see it over the last few days. Could be a sim problem or does anyone else have any ideas.

Check your APN setting. Remove and reset it again.

Trouble with global mode

So I'm visiting family in Austria and had Verizon set me up for global. Now that I'm here it just won't work. I'm set to global but there's no signal at all. Verizon had me try a few things but no go. Is there anything I can check that might be missing or need to manually add? I'm using EclipticOne ROM.

It's sim unlocked, why not get a prepaid sim if the phone has the proper bands?

I plan to but I don't understand why it's not working for me like it is supposed to.

Under settings --> Mobile Data --> Preferred Network change the setting to GSM/UMTS.
I went through a few different settings with Verizon but it didn't help. Would the absence of any system apks cause this to not work? Or some other internal config?

Well Hawks was basically stock. I did think about it but I don't feel like wasting a day putzing around on my cell. Although with this time zone difference I was up until 5am. Bah

Very common and widely discussed problem with Kitkat 4.4.2. No conclusive fix yet. Some people say latest update fixed it. It didn't for me.

no cellular signal on my note 2

Hey I need a little bit of help. I was running jlmancuso's Verizon port on my note 2. My phone decided to reboot itself and it got stuck on the boot screen. I got tired of waiting so I used philz recovery and formatted my device and loaded the Rom back on my phone. When it booted, I lost all cellular connections. It still works on Wi-Fi. I've the the ##scrtn# code but it doesn't work. I've called Sprint and they tried to help me reprovision it but they couldn't either. I tried to restore using Kies but my phone won't connect. I have returned to stock with Odin but still no signal. Please if you have any advice let me know. Thank you.
Same problem here with the same situation!
Those fixes require a sprint rom most times. Flash community rom or chaz's classic 4.4.2 and use your dialer codes there.

I have tried those codes with the stock Rom I loaded with Odin. Nothing works. Although I did get a signal for about 10 minutes when my phone was charging running your Verizon port...
Odd. When you go into setting about device status is your phone number/esn/etc correct or showing unknown?

It's all showing unknown. I'm not that worried about my phone, I have insurance through Best Buy so a new one will be in Wednesday. I just don't want this to happen again.
Yes it is not a huge issue and should not be very hard. I would suggest flashing the current community rom (has modified hiddenmenu.apk) then run the dialer code that resets phone and starts hands free activation.

I tried that and it didn't work either.
Did you try ##yourmslhere# and set everything to zero's then hands free activation?

Yes I tried that too. My phone just sits there and looks stupid.

Sprint zone GPS usage?

Does anyone know how to stop it from using gpa signals? It's using it in almost 20 minutes cycle and it also drains battery. How do you make it stop?

Is that what it is? I see GPS so often as well, if so I'll disable it since I'm rooted. How did you know it is using GPS

That's what I figured you did, just that mind never showed up there. Also I froze it and still get lots of GPS ping. In thinking it's the Google location setting.

Metro pcs with note 3

Why can I not get 4G service on this phone? I have tried all of the apn settings and nothing works, all I get is an e and not 4G. It's unlocked with Darth stalker on it. Please let me know what else I can do

Not sure if you're still having the issue, but this is what I did to get MetroPCS 4G working on my friend's N900T Note 3. When entering the new APN just fill in these:
Name - metroPCS
APN - fast.metropcs.com
Do not change anything else like MMSC or APN type. Just do the ones I listed and save the APN. I know this sounds weird because it did to me too, but this is what worked. Haha

I still have the same issue. I tried just as you said and it is still sporting the "e" up top. Thank you for replying
