my downloads are not showing on the notification bar, but they do finish correctly, whenever I download an app from the play store or something from the web, the download progress is missing. what could it be? I'm running official 5.0.1
Hi there,
it seems that i have the same issue on my htc m8 after updating to lollipop 5.0.1
Anyone has an idea how to make progress of the download to be visible in the status bar?

I figured it out. What you need to do is just to go to settings > apps > all. find "download manager" and enable notifications. Hope this helps to others who have the same issue.
Solution to this
What can I see that you have disabled the download manager. You can enable it by going to Settings>Apps>Download Manager.
Or you can reset preferences in the app settings
Got it
Also can try Settings>Sound & Notification>Manage App Notifications>Chrome>and turn them on
I have the same problem on Samsung tab S2 9.7 after upgrading to android 7. I tried the solutions posted here but I still don't have the download icon on the status bar. Is there another fix?

Hello Everyone,
I'm Perm rooted using Flippy125's Kernal update and CyanogenMOD 6.1.1 ROM with google apps. Despite this, my Android Market has an infinite download bar when I try to download an app for like 10 seconds, then download icon automatically disappears, while the app itself remains on the market without a status (instead of saying INSTALLED or DOWNLOADED, it shows "Free") like it's never been bothered with...could anyone know what the cause of this is?
Have you tried clearing Market's cache? I've had this experience before on my G1, running CM6 before. It seemed to have solved the problem for me. You might want to do that as well.
(Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Market)

Did you try again today? The Market was down last night while Google was tooling with it for todays press event
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
The shortcut to Google Now, where you swipe up from the nav bar for me stopped working as soon as I had a call after a reboot in 15.4.A.0.23. I couldn't wait for the 15.4.A.1.9 update, hoping it would fix the problem, but it's still there.
Anyone else has this problem?

That usually happens when you don't have Google Search (Now) Installed from Playstore. If it is installed and still the navbar shortcut is not working just clean app data and cache of Google Search (Now) and reboot. I guess that should fix the problem

But it came installed with the update, I didn't manually install it or anything. And I have tried deleting the app cache and data. Nothing worked. And it's really getting on my nerves, because it's a really handy shortcut and I search from my phone fairly often. Thanks for the reply, anyway
Hi just rooted my LG G3 and installed SkyDragon ROM
Anyway I keep getting the System update downloaded and the icon in my notification bar. I used the dialer method to disable future OTA updates but how do I get rid of the notification?
I assume if I do the OTA it will mess up my rooted phone!

Long press the notification - - > app info - - > uncheck show notifications.
It's not ideal, but it gets the job done
As the title say, after the last update Game Launcher is always showing one notification as in the attached image, I checked every option in the game launcher and settings and there is noting.
Samsung suggested I make a factory reset which I did and did not solve the problem.
I am currently on A20FXXU4BRC4 , Does any one have the same problem as me?
Hi there,
Same here; latest firmware (retail - Brazil; A520FXXU4BRC2). The notification doesn't go away by any means. Very annoying...
So I have been receiving notifications of an OTA update, but clicking on it never opens anything. No update shows up inside the settings.
Does anybody have any solution for this? OR is anybody facing the same issue?
Attached a video recording showing the same...
Please help!!
MIUI is such a garbage ROM. Always full of bugs.

Have you unlocked your bootloader. If so then you will not be able to install or get an ota update. Instead you can flash your phone using miflash
Just go to settings and search 'google play system update ' you will tap on said option and you will see the command to update and install,
That's how I fixed mine
