Hi just rooted my LG G3 and installed SkyDragon ROM
Anyway I keep getting the System update downloaded and the icon in my notification bar. I used the dialer method to disable future OTA updates but how do I get rid of the notification?
I assume if I do the OTA it will mess up my rooted phone!

Long press the notification - - > app info - - > uncheck show notifications.
It's not ideal, but it gets the job done

hello guys, i downgraded for 4.1.1 revolution hd this week, but system update notification keep appearing everytime. i already tried fotakill.apk method, but after reboot update still appears. so what is the best method to disable this?
thanks
Use a custom ROM that does it's job like it should; you should never receive a OTA update notification while on a custom ROM.

I got an OTA update on my T-Mobile LG G3 about a week ago. The notification keeps coming up despite me disabling the OTA feature in the hidden menu (3845#*851#) and freezing Update Center. What is the solution to stop this notification from coming up?

I was about to ask the same question. I am on the international 855 model, I got successfully into the hidden menu, disabled OTA, and yet I keep receiving notices about an upgrade. It seems that the OTA disable does not work,
I am rooted, TWRP, on a 20F bumped lollipod.
Thanks for any info on this.

may there were no update。

I'm also rooted an on TWRP. I don't know what 20F bumped lollipod means.
bump. Is there a solution for this OTA update notification?
Have you tried the app Disable Service?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice&hl=en
Open it
Go to System Apps
Find Google Services Framework and tap it
Uncheck "SystemUpdateService"
Restart your device.
The solution that worked for me was to also use the Disable Service app to uncheck "SystemUpdateService" under Google Play Services. After that the notification for the update went away.
This worked for me! Thank you. Hallelujah! The notification has been there for like a month. And it wasn't a normal notification. It would constantly flash and move around on my top bar. It's gone now.
"System Update Downloaded" when updating Google - is this Google or an OTA update?
I have an LG G3 D851 KitKat, rooted with a firewall, XPosed Framework, and all kinds of mods that I do not want messed with.
I just had a problem that was solved by restoring Google Play Store and Google Play Services from a two-week old nandroid backup.
Now I see a notification in the task bar, "System Update Downloaded - Android System Update". Okay, so this could be my Google updates, but I suspect it might also be a recent T-Mobile upgrade to my stock ROM that will lose boot and make my life a mess (BTW I have OTA update notifications disabled in the secret menu).
How can I be sure this isn't an OTA ROM update? If this is, can anyone tell me exactly where would I find the T-Mobile OTA update file so I can gleefully delete it?
Thanks!

I'm sure that update is for lollipop 20g
I am unlocked and rooted and disabled the auto update in the dev menu, but it is a permanent notification in the notification bar. Anyway to remove this or update via the skipsoft toolkit? What happens if I update while rooted and unlocked, boot loop or soft brick? I'm on NDE63L currently.
Ok I figured out how to disable from the notification menu (longpress the notification and click on disable all notifications). But it looks like the current release is 7.1.1 (NMF26Q), does anyone know how to update to this while rooted and unlocked?
Would love to know as well...!
Yeah flash a factory image.
Bump! Can a factory image be flashed in TWRP? Are the images carrier specific? Meaning if I flash the non verizon image on my Verizon Pixel XL will it cause any kind of issues?

to answer the question in the title, there is an app called Disable Services (root) and you go to system>google play services> SystemUpdateService and disable it. The system update/download/notification will all be gone then.
Yo!
I was wondering if anyone was familiar with a way to permanently disable the OxygenOS System Update notification from appearing. See the attached image.
On one of my previous phones you could disable this through Titanium Backup, does anyone know what the proper app to freeze is?
Thanks
Disable the System Update application using ADB. You can use this tool.
Or just disable the System Update app via TB since you already have it installed. Beats plugging the phone into pc to use adb lol.
If you have root, try this app
Notifications Off [Root] - Apps on Google Play
Get rid of Pesky Notifications!
play.google.com
I personally use this to disable System update notification for OOS 12 on my OOS 11 install

Strangely, disabling that app (pictured last in the TB screenshot) has not stopped them.

Can you help in where to locate the system updater using this tool?
Thanks in advance
I simply turned off automatic system update in the dev settings.
as well as in the system update itself on the three dots and there on download automatically (have the eu model with eu firmware) and get no update message

I will try that. Thanks!
Can't disable system updates from the 3 dots as mine is a forced downgrade package from that horrible Android 12

Just a quick update. Tried the disabling the system update via dev option and it didn't work. In fact it got more persistent in update notifications. Have downloaded and installed the ADB App Tool. Disabled the 'system update' with the settings tool icon (there's another same name with android icon) though and now monitoring. Do have to admit that the ADB Tool is excellent and installs all the necessary drivers and icons w/o the need for separate download
