Sim Support for xperia m dual
Hello guys,
my xperia m dual phone is currently running cm-12-20150225-NIGHTLY-nicki but i still dont have sim support. Help please!!!!
the wifi zone dont work correctly
CM12 Nicki nightly works fine so far, except that the phone turns off by itself after some minutes on idle.
I tried to set the lock screen timer to 30 minutes, but the phone turned off as well.
If I am using the device, it will be fine. But as soon as I leave the phone unattended, it will turn off and the only way to bring it back is to do a hard reset.
I tried with different Nightly versions, wiping the data and cache, using the recommended gapps, but nothing seems to work. I can return to have the stock Jellybeam 4.1 but I would really like to use CM so, any thoughts?
Update: I also got the "No Sim-No Service" issue. Followed the instructions to fix it from here but did not worked. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52427485
So, I have two major problems with CM12 on Nicki. The No Sim thing and the "phone turning off-only hard rebooting it makes it return to life" thing. Obviously, both of them makes the phone basically useless so I will be returning to stock, but will keep an eye for any updates on CM12 as I still want to use it, hopefully in the near future.

I'm currently using their stable build from November 2012 CM10, which I've tried upgrading to there latest stable a few times every now and then, and every time I attempt to upgrade it states it was aborted about 2 seconds in. Is there something special I'm suppose to do to upgrade to 10.1-10.2? Also I attempted using CM installation program and it kept me on the same version, and now I'm getting a "Unforunately, Android keyboard (AOSP) has stopped working." error, which I figured was from gapps. Can anyone please point me in the right direction of what I'm suppose to do about this.

Are you dirty flashing from 10.1 to 10.2 or clean flashing? If you're dirty flashing chances are that's what's causing the problem. From what I remember about upgrading from 10.1 to 10.2 was that a clean flash was necessary to having a bug free experience. My suggestion is backup your apps via Titanium Backup and factory reset on 10.2.
It wouldn't be advised for you to flash CM 10.1 to CM 10.2. Strictly because these are two different Android versions. First of all you will want to download the following links below.

CM-10.2.0-d2att.zip
Clockwork-6.0.4.3-d2att.img
CM10.2 4.3.X GApps
After you have downloaded the above files, you'll want to flash the Clockwork with Odin. If you are unsure on how to do this, please proceed to this tutorial. After you have flashed the last CWM, you will want to transfer the CM-10.2 image and the GApps to your root of the device. Then go into your custom recovery. Now wipe your data and dalvik cache. Then flash/install the CM10.2 zip file and then GApps. Now restart your device and you'll be on 4.3
If you are using TWRP, you'll need to find the appropriate version for that.

you just need to restore your kernel, now open your flashtool and select the bolt icon. after that choose flash mode and choose your latest firmware.

uncheck list your cache and data to avoid format data after flash kernel
after that you can flash this requirement on your ftf file. i mean you don't need to flash all requirement file.
1. kernel
2. FOTA
3. Baseband
4. system
5. elabel
after that choose flash and connect your device to flashmode and wait for flashing progress and reboot your device.
but in my knowledge you need to full wipe after unlock bootloader, but i hope this will work without wipe data
Thx for the asnwer I wanted to root my freind phone on android 4.3
when it stuck in bootloop i was so scared that i bricked his device and i thought i wont fix it
I flashed the 4.1 soft, the phone booted, then i flashed again 4.3 bootloader was unlocked already and flashed the cm kernel for cm12 and now he enjoys lollipop ;D
but i didnt recover his contacs , over 100 contacts are gone ;< but like 15 was synced with his gmail
i dont know why on 4.1 soft his phone said i cant unlock the bootloader ;P
I've just experienced a collapse in my phone's functionality and I have no idea why. It is a standard HTC build without root or any other modifications like S-OFF.
I updated to Marshmallow in January and have been using it without a problem. Than, a few days ago I suddenly couldn't start the Settings app as it kept crashing. As part of this problem I also couldn't start WiFi or Bluetooth. I tried safe mode but it didn't help at all.
Eventually I decided to do a factory reset, cache wipe and removed the SD card, but this didn't fix my phone. It now doesn't start up properly, with the following messages:
Android is starting
Starting Apps
Failed to load driver. reason: unknown error (19)
It then shows lots of messages for apps that have stopped.
I haven't any idea why this happened but I think there must be some way I can fix it myself, rather than send it back to HTC. Has anyone any suggestions?

Reading all your posts actually quite confusing ... in some ROM threads you mentioned you have Verizon device but here you have a Intl GSM device.
Your second screenshot show an outdated firmware installed (the bootloader) but the third screenshot show a Marshmallow firmware installed. Which is which now ?
If the problem is based on the second screenshot ... just run the latest EU MM RUU to update the firmware and the ROM.
If the problem is based on the third screenshot ... install again the latest EU MM RUU to fix whatever problem that you have.
And you already have the latest EU MM RUU based on your first screenshot

verizon is not my first device, it's different. this is Intl GSM device.
currently Marshmallow 6.12.401.4 installed.
I installed all the ROMs and firmwares in the picture.
I install the ROM update utility method. but WiFi won't turn on. I installed many times with 0p6bimg.
When I installed the 4.4.3 RUU version is going to restart the cycle.
Sorry my bad english.
no one help me ???
Model: VS985
Owned for 2 years, no issues for 1.5+ years
Software: was running jasmineMOD 9.1, but have since reverted back to stock and still having similar issues
Original issues:
- Wi-Fi will stop working while connected to a network (says connected but nothing will load, no internet access), has nothing to do with which Wi-Fi network I use, just happens sometimes
- Other Wi-Fi issues, will either perpetually search, or Wi-Fi service will not turn on at all

OR
Sometimes this can be fixed by restarting or just waiting some time.
- SD Card in jasmineMOD was "Mounting" and "Unmounting" repeatedly, until one day SD card died completely (cannot be seen in PC or phone)
- Bought new SD card, having same "Mounting" "Unmounting" "SD card unmounted unexpectedly" errors even on stock 5.0 android (rooted with 3.0.2 TWRP), also Fulmics 6.0 ROM and Resurrection 6.0 ROM do not fix this issue either
- SIM card was also being unmounted after 1+ years of successfully using jasmineMOD 9.1 with no changes. Reformatting back to stock seems to have fixed this, Resurrection 6.0 ROM and Fulmics 6.0 ROM also both seemed to be OK
- Bluetooth was stuck off sometimes in jasmineMOD (again, was working fine for 1-1.5+ years). Reformatting back to stock seems to have fixed this, both custom ROMs also OK
Problems to resolve: Wi-Fi, SD card unmount, messenger app perpetual "unfortunately, messenger app has stopped responding" in both custom 6.0 ROMs (but fine in stock 5.0)
Attempts to fix:
- TUT method to flash back to stock android 4.X
- Manual update to stock android 5.0, root, install latest TWRP, Wi-fi and SD card having exact same issues
- Tried to install two custom ROMs, Fulmics 6.0 (same issues + additional issues with Messaging app crashing and Android System not responding sometimes), and ResurrectionRemix (same issues + additional issues with Android System not responding and eventual boot loops
Thoughts:
- Hardware issue, both with WiFi and SD card? seems unlikely
- TWRP or root causing these issues? also seems unlikely, but I haven't tried to evaluate these issues on pure stock without root/twrp yet...
Can anyone provide any advice? Should I just buy a new phone?
revised OP to add pictures and better explanation
After installing the Oreo update for my xperia, the cellular network stopped working.
My sim card is recognized, but I can't access the network.
The sim card does work when I put in my other phone.

What I tried:
- of course restart the phone
- all possible settings for the APN
- reinitialize the phone from the android menu
- repair the phone from the Xperia companion
Any hints on what I could do to try to fix it?
I'm currently downloading an android 7.0 xperia ROM, but I'm not completely sure it does match my model.

Hi
Follow what I've written here https://forum.xda-developers.com/xa1-ultra/help/service-android-8-0-oreo-update-t3780937
Hope that helps!:highfive:
F.
Ok I've managed to make it "work".
I post the solution here in case other people get the same issue.
The phone is a dual sim one, and for some reason, in order to make it work its necessary to switch the location of the sim card.
If the last time it worked, the sim was in the slot 1, then stop the phone, put in in slot 2 and it will work.
However, if the phone restarts, for a reason or another, the slot 2 stops working. In which case, you have to stop the phone and insert in the slot 1...
And so on, and so on.
I guess there is a bug in Sony's driver for their dual sim system, I hope it will be fixed in the future.
