Sorry, no idea.
i beleive that 4.3 and brick problem is only if you took the OTA factory update . i didnt use these files but i did use that exact procedure and i was on CM 10.2 which is 4.3.1 and had no problems. i tried a friends sim card from rogers( im on virgin mobile) and it worked great .
where's the 4.1.1 file? hotfile is closed so http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ doesn't work
OK I have a Galaxy Tab3 GT-P5210, I have developer usb debugging enabled, I have the Samsung KIES package installed on my PC and I've downloaded Odin307, the TWRP package and the ROOT package that is well documented in this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525630
The problem I'm having is with the step that says:
Power down your device and put it into download mode. To do this, press and hold the Home + Volume Down + Power buttons simultaneously for 3 to 5 seconds until you see the warning screen.
When I do this it goes into something called 'Android System Recovery <3e>" with a prompt that says "# MANUAL MODE #" with the following options:
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
and it does not show up in Odin so I cannot get further...how can I resolve this?
as a rant here, I really wish Google would mandate that all providers supply an option to root the device and install stock Android...this nonstop jumping thru hoops just to have basic control over a device you spent good money on is ****ing stupid
Found your problem!

Hey man download mode is where you flash custom recoveries and custom or stock Roms on your device. The answer to you for download mode is your not holding it down enough. first power off the device. Second hold these buttons all together: power + Volume Down + home button. Keep holding these buttons for a minimum of 10-15 seconds or more and it will go into download mode. From there you open up Odin on your pc and then you should see in a box your com port this means your connected. From there you it PDA and you select your recovery file. It should end with
.md5! Make sure re-partition is not checked or you will brick your device! Now it start and once it's done it will say Res OK. Good luck!
got it

You know what it was? Its a brand new tablet for me and so when it is held lengthwise (like you'd hold a phone normally) the Vol+ button is at the BOTTOM, not the top like every phone I've ever owned. So I was holding Vol- instead and that's why it wasn't working for me...boneheaded mistake but thanks for the reply...I can now boot it into Download mode ...though I still can't get Odin to recognize it
thanks for the reply

connecting to odin is the same for every samsung device. I am going to try my best to help you out so here we go. Check to make sure you have the samsung usb drivers. to do that go to my computer then local disk then go to programs and files. if you see the SAMSUNG folder and when you open it and you see the drivers folder containg the usb drivers then if you don't see it then we need to install the drivers. first uninstall kies. you don't need this.the download and open this exe file: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_nizg6yUZ0NS1RodDBxd0E1MFU/preview . install it normally.
Need more help just ask
thanks

After trying some different things I got Odin working, was able to install TWRP and root the device so that's all good
Now I've downloaded the framework-res.apk and decompiled it, modded it as i wanted to and recompiled using the Android Multitool app and the final issue I'm having is pushing the new framework-res.apk back to the device. The Android Multitool app claims it pushes the file but it does not. So I downloaded the latest sdk and I'm going to try using the raw ADB tool to push the file and see if that works...wish me luck
You can use twrp file manger to do that.
Just copy your file to sdcard while connected to pc and then reboot to recovery use file manager in advanced settings. Find your file and copy it to where ever you need it.
Right now, I just don't know what to do. I've restored my phone (model SGH-1747) back to stock many times before using Odin and it's all worked fine. But somehow, my phone is just stuck on the Samsung booting screen. Odin even gives the green "Pass!" but my phone just can't load correctly. My phone is still able to enter download mode each time I restart my phone so I don't think all hope's lost but I just can't get past the damn pulsing Samsung screen (this is after the AT&T booting screen).
Here are the steps I do to restore my phone from stock:
1. Enter phone in download mode
2. Run Odin v3.09 via administrator
3. Click on PDA and load file "root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.tar.md5"
4. Click start
I've tried Googling my problem but I just don't really know what solutions I'm looking for. Any suggestions?
I remember having this problem a long time ago.
This is what fixed it for me:
1. Pull Battery to get out of boot loop
2. Hold power + vol up + home --> will boot you into recovery
3. Clear Data/Factory reset
4. Reboot
5. All Done

I know that this is a long-standing question, but I will answer. Perhaps this will help someone with a similar problem.
If you see the word "Firmware upgrade issue" on the screen, then the tablet is already in Download Mode and you do not need to do anything extra to call the Download Mode. You just need to connect it with a cable to the computer where Odin is already running and Odin recognizes the tablet. After that you can download the desired ROM to your tablet.
Thanks
Hi to all.
I finally unbricked my s5839i.
I dont know if it works for other Samsung models but it worked fine to my device. So if you are not sure dont do it.
1. First thing to do is to download Odin3 v3.04
2. Last thing you have to dounload this .rar file it contain all the files needed.http://www.4shared.com/rar/PyUe5q3X/S5839i_ODIN_AND_FILES_.html it worked fine.It is not my language but i couldn't find something else.
4. After you have finished dounloading, run Odin3 v3.04.
a. Click BOOTLOADER button and select: BOOT_S5839iBVLC2_REV00.tar.md5
b. Click PDA button and select: PDA_S5839iBVLC3_REV00.tar.md5
c. Click Phone button and select: MODEM_S5839iBVLC1_REV00.tar.md5
d. Click CSC button and select: GT-S5839i-csc_ext-IDELC1.tar.md5
5. Put your phone into Download Mode: Press Power + Volume Up+Down and in the Warning screen press the volume up.
Connect USB cable to your phone and the program must read the Com number it takes.
Click Start button in Odin3 v3.04 and the update process will start.
Do not touch or remove anything till the device rebooted and you can see PASS word on the program.
Thats it.Your phone reboots into android. It may take longer to boot ,so be patient.
Now you can change the language to your native one.
I hope i helped.
If you dont get it watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDRgFfPK6JE
If you follow these steps, you do it on your oun risk.
