I had the same problem myself and couldn't find any real help but I've figured it out.
Change your default watch face to something different (not that you really have a choice lol) then turn it off. After that, uninstall facer from your phone but don't worry cause all your faces will remain upon reinstalling. After you do that restart your phone and turn your 360 back on. Reinstall facer and wait for it to be pushed to your watch again. Set your watch face back to facer and you should be good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Yeah, I did the same thing... You should try the same thing.. Please try and update us if it's working or else...

So I REALLY want to get Ventriloid/Mangler working. It keeps force closing on me. Both apps do the same thing. Before I would connect and be able to talk 1-3 times then the push to talk button would stop functioning and I would have to abandon it and try again later where it would do the same thing. I changed the push to talk button from hold to a toggle and it worked a lot better. However it still force closes ALL the time. If it worked for a little but and then force closed I wouldn't matter as I was gonna use it for short conversations where I need to tell someone something, I really want this app to work. Has anyone been having the same issues?/Found a solution? I'm using stock rom and I rooted it and it still FC's. Halp please.
Sorry for posting again since I haven't received a reply. Am I the only one experiencing these issues?

It is sort of a PTT program but it isn't like tikl. I have downloaded the app and will try it later tonight once I get home to get my vent info and then I will post my results for the OP

I had similar issues when I used them before. I know the big issue is you want to "Force 8kHz Transmit" in the settings. I can't recall if that is enough to solve all the problems, but I know that got me working.
Wanted to give this a little bump.
I can connect to Vent, I can hear everyone and do everything the app is supposed to do, except the push to talk feature will not work. I have even tried to put it on auto but the mic never activated. I tried switching hotkey to a keyboard key and that did not work either, it just will not work
Sorry I Haven't posted that update yet but everythin works fine for me. I didn't mess around with any settings, just put in my vent info and it worked(though there were complaints of me being really loud and a tn of backround noise while I was talking mid raid)

ok, first off i'll say why i want help.
i got this bracelet/armband: http://dx.com/p/234397 , because when my phone is in my pocket i dont always notice it going off. for phone calls it works great, it vibrates and i can easily tell that im getting a call.
SMS though, not so much. im guessing it has to go with the firmware on the bracelet but unless i can pull that firmware off, edit it and reupload it, i need to figure out something else.
before i go modifying the hardware of the bracelet, i'd like to see if i can make an app that will send the SMS notification to the bracelet like it's a phone call. that way, the bracelet will vibrate. or maybe not even just SMS, but notifications in general would be fine too.
so.. thoughts? ideas?
Tasker comes to mind. I haven't used Tasker, but it is probably worth looking into.

I accidentally changed the face when facer wasn't selected. Now I get a blank watch face. I tried uninstalling and rebooting but nothing is working. Anyone know how to fix this?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
Two things to try: make sure the backlight is on and then press and hold the crown button. When the settings menu appears you can select a new face. The second thing to try is then reselect Facer and send one of the presets to it. I have had this happen several times and eventually it pops back up (but I was quite concerned the first time)
OK it fixed itself somehow

The dev is aware and is working on resolving the issues. What I have found for a temp work around is, rebooting your watch, then selecting another face, waiting few sec, then switching the face back to facer and then pushing your selected face. It takes a few secs, up to 30s on some faces to push, but it will change it. I have had it where facer will crash on the watch, I just repeat said steps above, minus the rebooting and it works.

Okay, actually I figured out what was wrong. A lot of the folders were doulbed, so after extracting, the folder structure was duplicated within that so the app was unable to load the face. if you go in and copy the last 4 files from the base folder, then dump them right in the first folder, it will work. .... if that makes sense, im not really up to all the correct terminology.
Is anyone having issues with security setting under personal? When I select it, the settings application force closes with Unfortunately, Settings has stopped. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Standard Verizon note 4. no root.
Played around a bit and decided to do a settings reset which corrected issue.

I had the same issue, factory reset fixed it but now 2 days later the problem has returned. Can't access the security settings without it force closing.

Thanks for the feedback. Reset settings worked for me. Only had to change a few things back from default. Did not have to redo apps. I spoke with Verizon and a patch may be coming in Jan. Some apps and wireless charging have been causing an issue with the security setting.

Yeah just tried resetting the settings and it didn't fix it for me. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Problem returned for me last night. This time I had to reset. Did the problem come back again for you?
Resetting the settings didn't work for me and I don't feel like factory resetting my phone every couple days so I guess it's gonna stick around a while.

I had to start in safe mode to get security settings to open up for me. Not a great long term solution but it worked so I could change the unknown sources setting.
Thanks for the reply, how do you start in safe mode?
These are the instructions for the Note 3 but they work:
With the device powered off, press and hold the Power button until the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 logo appears then release.
With the logo on the screen, press and hold the Volume down button until Safe mode appears in the lower left of the screen then release.
Note This may take up to 45 seconds.
Thanks!

Thank you. Just got this device today, and one of the first things I tried to do was install an app I am testing. It kept crashing trying to get to security. I tried Safe Mode, and it worked great. Thanks again.

That kept happening to me and I finally figured out a solution! I kept having my apps reinstalled from Google and, whenever an app that I had previously used that required root access was installed, Settings would crash whenever I tried to open Security. So, it was a long process but I reinstalled only those apps that didn't need root access. Afterwards, I kept testing to make sure I could still access Security without the crash and, when something was installed that caused the crash again, I knew which app it was, uninstalled it, and all was fine again. I had to reset the phone 6 times to figure this out but all's good now!

Glad you got it working. Would you be able to tell me what app it was? I have the same problem.
I had so many apps that needed root that it just made sense to not have Google install my apps after resetting. I really can't recall specifically which one it was. What I do suggest, which will take a while but is so worth the time, is to make a list of what's on there now and only reinstall like 3 at a time and then check to make sure that everything's ok. If it is, install a couple more, etc. That way, if one screws it up, you'll know which one to uninstall rather than having to reset it all over again. At least if you do install one that needs root and, therefore, screws it up for you, you can just uninstall that one program. Good luck! Let me know how it goes. ☺
Was finally able to figure this out (for me anyway). Its my S View cover. With the cover off I have no problem getting into security put it back on and it forcecloses. I went to Best Buy and tried 2 others and they both caused the security to forceclose as well.
Was chatting with a Samsung Rep where they remotely control your phone and she came up with the conclusion that it is a bad app and wants me to do a factory reset and add the apps back 1 at a time. I will wait till I flash a ROM and do it then. I am leaning towards that it is a app. If every Note 4 with a S View cover had this issue then it would be more widely known.
I had the S cover and that wasn't the problem. Like I said, it was cos I was having Google automatically install my old apps, some of which were apps that needed root like Titanium Backup, Rom Toolbox, etc.. I was able to put Apex as my home, just not apps that needed root. Titanium is the reason I want root so much. Being able to clean up or delete apps I don't use.
Yes, i had the same problem with my s view cover. Once i took it off, i was able to go back into the security settings.

I figured out the app that was causing the issue for me. I use Nova and also TelsaUnread. I uninstalled Telsa and no more problem even with the S View cover.
I just got a Sony Smartwatch 3 today (christmas present) and are there any good tricks i should know? Also feel free to share noob tips in general

Congratulations.
I have turned location off on the watch settings as I don't need it. Battery lasts into a fourth day at the moment. Most useful so I have installed is wear mini launcher. Between that and using NFC to start my watch I don't need to press the side button on the watch at all. I also use Facer to make my own watch faces.

Tap on watch screen it will light up itself. I'm curious about how to use NFC to start watch?
I hold the SW3 against the back of my HTC One. If the watch was off it starts up. If it was on it opens the Wear companion app on my phone and connects.
No matter what I do I can't get nfc to work with my n6
it works with my xperia zl

does it mean that your watch does not have location info at all or is it taken from your phone?

I dont have anything I use the watch GPS for so I toggled it off. All I can see it would be used for is phone-free run logging, and I dont do that. Thus I hope to avoid any random app firing up the gps and wasting my watch battery. I just use the phone's location because it is hardly ever more than 20ft from my watch.
