Hey everyone! i'm wondering if anyone knows a way to get back App Ops for a rooted G3. I'ved tried the App Ops from the play store, but it doesn't work.
If your on KitKat, install xposed and there's a module for it. I can confirm it works

CM12 has it. It's called privacy guard.

LG has App Ops included by default. You don't even need root to use it.All you need is a third party launcher. Make a new shortcut to activities, settings, and access lock. Open new shortcut and be happy lg left in for us.

Hey all, I have a Rogers NFC Sim for my S3 running the latest CM 10.1 nightly. I was looking to use the CIBC Mobile Payment App available in the Play Store here. Of course it won't appear in the Store on my device because the device identifies itself differently than a stock Rogers S3, so I grabbed the APK from here, however the app simply won't install when I open it from my file explorer.
How can I forcibly install this app? My hardware is compatible with this app so this should just be a question of using some magic to trick the APK into installing.

There's no way it HAS to be unless there is some specific dependency on TouchWiz. Whether or not it's easy or recommended is difference.

It's a good thing I'm not asking CIBC for support then.

I'm trying yet again to get mobile payment working on my phone as well.
I'm simply astonished that nobody has ever found an actual way to hide rooting on a phone. I'm not a developer, but really, how hard could it possibly be? if we have root we should be able to do ANYTHING to trick an app that doesn't have root in to not knowing root is there. why hasn't anyone come up with a sandbox for these stupid apps yet???
(and don't show me links to any of the dozens of "root hiding" apps, I've never found a single app that checks for root that is fooled by any of these.)
anyone figured out a workaround yet?
Stopped being an issue ages ago for me (this thread is 3 years old). The CIBC app now works happily on many more devices, including rooted ones.

Hi guys, I bought my nexus 7 2013 lte thinking it could send sms. It seems it can but only if I root and install xposed etc etc.
My dilemma is that I have a nowtv subscription which will not run on rooted devices. I there any way to enable sms without rooting?
Ive tried masking root by all the usual methods but nowtv always knows. This is so frustrating for me as im not to tec savvy.
I have however flashed an older rom 4.3.1 and it works. is that my only option?

I was going to tell you google voice then realized you're on the wrong side of the pond. Been using it for years. Sorry, haven't paid attention to the other options.
RootCloak is a xposed module that hides root from certain apps. I'm not sure what you want in the means of SMS, but I use Google voice, with the voice+ module and nexus 7 SMS enabler modules, then I can choose what default SMS app I want (Hangouts, 8sms). Or you can just use a different SMS app like TextPlus without without rooting.

xposed requires root doesn't it?
root cloak doesn't work. nowtv still says device modified and won't run.
Yes Xposed requires root.
Did a little searching and there's a RootCloak Plus which will do the job. Look under the Apps with calls... Header in this link.

Thanx for your time but this didn't work. I guess it's one of those apps that the root cloak plus won't work on.
I see the op is still working on another bskyb app.
Back to looking for a way to enable outbound text... (unrooted)
Thanx again..
Just a thought, is it possible to make an unrooted rom with mms built in that can be flashed via adb or any other method?

You may find this info useful!
Xposed Framework FAQDoes this require root access?
Yes, because it replaces a file in /system/bin. Once the framework is installed, it should work without root access.
and the link where I found the info.

Thanks for info but I have tried this method. I have unrooted as far as possible without flashing stock but it seems something is left behind that the skygo/nowtv apps see's and says os is modified and will not run.

If you have Apex launcher you can add a shortcut to your home screen, choose activities and find the LG Health(or whatever it's called) activity. Now when you click that, it'll open LG Health without having to go to LG's home.

PS: I use F400k so I dont know if it will work.
Anyone still have the APK?
I'm sorry to bring up an old thread but I just pruchased the LG-D850 for AT&T on Ebay and when I received it, it didn't have QMemo+ along with a few basic missing options (can't add grid lines to camera, no option to add Multi-Task Pane to buttons on bottom, etc). Does anybody still have the apk for QMemo+ for the G3?? I'm hoping it will help some.
Also, I have seen "LG Update Center" as a solution from some pages, what is this?

I need it as well. Mine is suddenly missing, so I assume I accidentally deleted it. I really need it for notes and the integration into the phone would be the best way to use it!
Does anyone got any idea how we can enable all apps in multiWindow and popup view? Right now there are only a few that can do that which is almost useless for me.
you need to root.
All I need is root? Or do I need more than that to get it working?

Root and there are a couple multiview apps in the playstore that will allow you to pick which apps you want to have that feature.
Examples?

Hi,
Anybody can help me? My battery is getting crazy drained from unwanted autostarting app, especially Chinese ones.
I thought it was too easy using just the auto start app manager in the phone settings.
I successfully rooted (double checked with root checker) using the guide found in this same forum than I tried different third party autostart app manager but all without success
After granting SU permission the most of the app says that the procedure is successful but just seconds after the apps I disabled are already back in the running app list.
The weirdest thing happens with Clean master, after granting permission and while is working it tells me that the app itself couldn't succeed and the only thing that suggests is to grant permission in the SU app that obviously has already.
What can it be the problem?

I'm not sure, I'm not using such apps yet. Are these apps lollipop compatibles?
BTW I've checked one thing on the m9+, slightly related, that /system modifications stick or not with the default kernels we have, and luckily the Write protection on an unlocked device is not present. So we don't need write protection cracking kernel module like on m9. I've tested this with AdWay rooted app, and it modified the /system/etc/hosts file and it sticks after reboot.

I downloaded all of them from the play store or the app market already installed in the phone so I guess they all are…
Didn't check In the specifications though…
I'm using Ad block plus and that seems to work properly without problems

Have you tried Greenify? Lots of people swear by it, though it works best in conjunction with Xposed because then you can hibernate badly behaving system apps.

I tried after your suggestion and seems to work
until I use one of the apps and then it wakes up again all the others (like I am using an app to shop online and it awakes music app, weibo, a Chinese taxi booking app and baidu maps)
Proper Chinese style haha
I'm afraid that exposed is Not gonna work properly at the Moment because I got an error message that says that they don't have (yet) a version compatible with SDK 21 or the phone processor architecture…
Thanks!

Your answer is actually in the question you pose.
Download Autostarts and kill off the apps criteria so that it doesn't start up.
Been using that app for years now, it's superb https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elsdoerfer.android.autostarts

There is an alpha that works fine on the M9. http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-android-5-1-successfully-t3074586
You need the sdk21-arm64 zip to install the framework, then the Xposed for Lollipop "installer" (which doesn't actually install anything, just manages he modules).
This will let you greenify system apps, which appears to be your problem. Greenify will complain if you try to do it, but it should be fine.
