Is it possible for us to get the QSlide that isn't for just videos and lets you run 3 apps at a time like I've seen in this video?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH43wQm9XfM
Or this one? At around 40 seconds you can see the extra line for the QSlide apps. And around 4:05 you can see him actually using the feature.

I don't understand why they would do this for some Optimus G but not others. It's so much more useful.
I agree, and LG USA has a lot of nerve marketing overlayed video as a feature. Does anyone out there really watch videos while texting, reading news, and checking out xda?

if its android software, and we have source- somebody can get it working. If we can get a system dump of an lgog with it working we can probably port it NP depending how they set it up.

I've been looking through the Canadian and International system files from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2127346), but this is a little over my head. But it's in one of those for sure...somewhere. More so in the International version I'm betting.
QSlide is com.lge.app.floating.res.apk (system/framework) replaced the one I have with the one from the international version. Then all the QSlide possible apps crashed upon trying to use them. I guess that's a start.

I have done all that (browser, calculator, calendar, videos, and memo). And the framework is that apk file I mentioned. Didn't work. But I'm not sure if it's because of my ROM. The files I'm using are from a stock odexed (I'm guessing) rom. Versus me on lifeless v14. Or if it simply won't work. I would upload the files if I thought somebody was interested in looking at them to try and make this work.
I've barely started playing with android/java, so don't expect anything to come of it, but I'll be happy to take a look at it. I already have the files.
If anyone does manage to get things working, I'd really like to know how. I've been trying to get On-Screen Phone working for about a week now, and have made some progress, but still not there lol.

I'm looking at it but no promises lol... It might be easier to just create the app from scratch.
Here are the files for anybody else who wants to take a look at them. I put the whole system/framework in there because I'm currently trying to deodex the apks by following this guide here. They might work properly after that. Maybe somebody else can try the same.
Edit: Nope, didn't work. Got a couple QS apps deodexed and they still don't show up in the system apps with the correct permissions. Well, this is where I give up trying to find this out myself.
Great News!
Flash the addon pack from this thread (or manually place the file in yourself) and you'll have QSlide Apps in your notification bar. Can't trigger it from the app itself (except videos). But hey I'll take that trade off.

It probably does run in the background on boot, unles you AutoStart it off.
On the stock-based ROMs, there's a background service called "SNS" (IIRC) that has the Facebook logo as its icon. This app probably uses that service. SNS can be safely frozen.

IIRC, SNS cannot be disabled via Manage Apps....It must be "frozen" (disabled) via a root tool like Titanium Backup.

My thoughts exactly lol
I hate how they keep cramming FB and Twitter down our throats. If I wanted to let my friend know that I just took a dump, I'd call him on the phone like normal people.
I am glad to see an even greater number and diversity of apps coming to android, and specifically the Note2. That said, Facebook Home will never have an opportunity to afflict my Note2.
Would be promising if it weren't made by Facebook. The app alone is lucky to still be installed.

Why is everybody attacking this? It's an optional app, no more intrusive than any other app on the market. Download it if you want to give it ago, uninstall it if you don't like it.
Anyone find it in the market yet? The facebook app had an update but when I go to settings and enable facebook home it takes me to Google play and says item not found.

I I decided to do a little messing around on my phone today. The lack of Swype features on the stock keyboard irritated me. Lol So I was messing with build prop.
First you must be rooted, second get a Build Prop editor, or something like ROM Toolbox, third be sure to make a back up in case you mess something up.
Open your build prop and look for these lines: ime_trace_apply and ime_trace_menu. Tap one to open it up and you'll see Property Value:false and Default Value:false. Click the selection box under Default Value and change it to true. Save and go back into the build prop.
Do the same thing for the next line. So now both of your items (ime_trace_apply and ime_trace_menu) will read True. Be sure to save Build Prop and reboot. Once you do that, try to use the keyboard.
You should see a quick pop up explaining what Trace Input is. If you don't, then check in your setting and make sure you have it checked. That's all there is to it. I'm so much happier with the stock keyboard now.
*Try not to screw up any settings please!*
FYI - I am not responsible for you messing with your Build Prop, screwing up your device, bricking it or Grumpy Cat coming to your front door, to call you a failure.
***Edit - in the example provided, ROM Toolbox Lite was used. ***

This is very cool! Why would they hide this feature?
I also like the dedicated number row... Only complaint is that the space bar is too narrow (I also have that complaint for the swype keyboard).
I've been using Kii - space bar is wider, and it also allows you to backspace after autocorrect to revert to the original word (if you don't want it uncorrected). But I'd switch to stock full time if only the space bar were wider.

I had this problem too. I ended up using the GravityBar module in Xposed, which happens to have the feature to slide your finger across the statusbar itself to change brightness (under Statusbar tweaks, at the bottom). Works perfectly, no crashes. Not sure if everyone will find this to be an acceptable alternative, though.
Weird cause Swipe was enabled by default on the Verizon model. I actually had to go in and turn it off in the settings.
So funny how the G2 does all these great things yet every version this, this, and that disabled. It would be cool to find a rom that has everything enabled to let US pick and choose what features we want to use.
It's like the AT&T version doesn't have launcher themes. I'm not sure if they even have Keyboard, SMS, or launcher themes. Those are pretty buried too.

Yes it does. I've group messaged several times.
Except I use Hangouts now for primary messaging... although I found the stock SMS app more feature rich (and has the popup sms). Hangouts just has the AOSP feel to it, plus it keeps my actual hangout chats in one place = 1 less icon on the desktop.
The LG Stock Roms are pretty feature thick, its just hit and miss what each variant has enabled. AT&T disables the Launcher Themes?! Some disable Group Messaging?! Some have a QuickApp Stock Browser that is windowable (Verizon doesn't have this)?!!!! Some have FM Radios?!
Just gimme everything please!

I don't know if this merits a thread or not, but I figured it warranted mentioning.
I just received the LG keyboard update. There isn't a changelog readily available, but I'm assuming this is the update that learns what you type on a per-app basis, and includes whatever other changes (what are they again?).
One difference I am noticing right away is that as you "swype" now, the word(s) you're passing your thumb across automatically appear, as opposed to appearing after you've finished the word. The swyping appears to be more accurate, which was one small gripe I had before. The other thing I'm noticing that makes a HUGE difference for me is that spaces aren't always inserted when you've selected an auto-correction. It's difficult to explain but makes a big difference. I'm obsessively picky about keyboards, so I'll keep dissecting the update as I use it.
Nice update. Anyone notice anything else find something worth mentioning?
Oh, right. And now words bring up emoji. ?. I could go for some right now.
Thanks for the heads up, just updated. Could be placebo but it does indeed feel a little snappier.

I recently switched from Swype because of massive lag and bug problems. I must say the lg keyboard is just as good if not better in some respects to Swype which when working i think it's haha down the best keyboard on the market. Very impressed with lg's keyboard attempt on this phone.

sadly it DID work the first time I edited the nesus messages.. the moto sent the edited message out.. the next day back to default messages. i talked to a motorola rep, she dug a bit and found an internal memo stating these messages were defaultand CAN NOT BE EDITED
This is a basic function here, this should be easily edited at any time. the fact that my unit did use the ones from the nexus 6 kinda tells me it read the nexus messages, then some update or internal setting over-road them......
this must be fixed there is NO reason why I shouldnt be able to use my custome responses....
Just tried to do precisely the same thing. Disappointed to find that changes to the stock quick responses on the N6 don't filter through to the Moto 360.
