WiFi 5G issues - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I'm coming back to my Note 3 from a couple of months on the iPhone. I rooted the phone and installed SlimRom. Only issue I have is that the phone only detects my WiFi 2.4G and not the 5G.
Is there a solution for this or does this type of rom not support 5G?

My router is dual band and I have not noticed any instability. I have not tried fixing the connection to 5GHz only though. (It's an AVM 7390)
I may try later.
only the n standard, not the newest ac standard (which is wifi in the 5 GHz frequencies) as far as i know (and the spec sheets i looked up)
Routers are usually downwards compatible, so thats why your note can connect I think
Mine connects to the 5Ghz spectrum just fine, though it's worth remembering the range is severely crippled compared with 2.4Ghz

T-Mo 5G owners. How has your connectivity/GPS been?

For those of you who got the Note 10+ 5G via TMobile, how has your general data connectivity been?
Has your GPS been consistent?
I'm really curious about whether or not the Note suffers the same issues as the McLaren 5G does with non-existent GPS with 5G. Thinking if it's worth switching over if the issue doesn't occur.
I did previously see posts about the issue being realized and fixed by Samsung and that it had to do with GPS location handoff between 4G and 5G. Was this for the international models or the US versions as well?
Thanks

No GPS issues with my T-Mobile Note 10+5G. I have used it several times. My area has areas of both 4G and 5G, so if there were handoff issues I haven't seen them. HTH
My T-Mo Note 10+ 5G GPS has been non-functional since I got it on Dec 9th, even after a launch day software update. I just got another update this morning to version ASL7, but I haven't gone out yet to test it. Here's hoping it's fixed, otherwise this device is going back to T-Mo.
T-Mobile just pushed an update today to version N976USQU1ASL7, which solved my GPS issues.

Good to know, I might just get it now to switch things up a bit.

Never mind - GPS is still nonfunctional whenever the phone is in 5G mode. Switching to LTE seems to improve GPS reception, but it's still not as good as my regular Note 10's GPS was. TMobile rep is saying it's because there's not enough 5G enabled towers in my area so the A-GPS cannot get a triangulation lock.

Samsung Exynos s20 5G issues with the Wi-Fi

Sometimes my Samsung Exynos s20 5G disconnects from the Wi-Fi without any error. Can it be an issue with the chip of is something "normal"? I have it updated to the last build with version 11 of Android. To make it work again I have to turn off and then back on the Wi-Fi some times. Any ideas if it's caused by some issues from the factory?

Question Redmi Note 9T 5G Issues

These devices are sometimes a complete mystery to me. I recently bought two Redmi Note 9T devices for my household to take advantage of 5G, which they do beautifully. But here at home 5G is spotty, at best, so 4G LTE is what gets used most.
However, my device frequently goes to LTE+ while my partner's never does, and since I'm the "master configurator" for the house I know that I have never done anything with settings that should have this end result.
I have the same issue as others have reported in that the signal strength falls so substantially when the switch to LTE+ occurs that the hotspot is useless. It always resolves when I reboot the device, and it will stick with LTE for many hours but, eventually, it will always revert to LTE+.
Is there any way to prevent this without using the previously noted app? My phones are not rooted and I really have no desire to root them, as there's no need otherwise.
Both devices are running MIUI Global 12.5.2 over Android 11 with the 2021-05-01 Android security update.
P.S. Sorry for necroposting, but this is one instance where the topic is already perfect, and things do change over time.

Call tech support for your phone company and say you want them to do a line refresh. It's not you, it's them. But before you do that, enable Visual Voice Mail (or whatever app you have) and retrieve all your voice mails because the line refresh wipes them from their storage.
I had an S20 on Metro that had problems getting 5G in places that definitely had it. Then it got to where at home it would only stay on 5G for a short while. It got worse and worse to where it flat out wouldn't switch to 5G. I called support. Went through everything they could think of.
I spent $400 on another S20. SAME #^%##$^ THING! NO 5G!
I called support again and after telling them I'd bought another phone and it did just like the other one, that's when they mentioned the line refresh. Been working great ever since. And this S20 wasn't used by a 24/7 texter so it doesn't have the keyboard burned into the screen like the other one, which I just sold today for $350.

Hi Galane, unfortunately, its not that i have bad signal on 5G, its that i can't even select 5G in the mobile networks settings. the max i'm able to get is 4G even though the phone is a 5G phone.

That was my problem. The line refresh fixed it.
