[Q] Which ROM/Kernel should I install for Galaxy Nexus

Hi Guys,
Just a few questions..
1. What ROM can you recommend to install? Currently on Galaxy Nexus GSM 4.0.2
ICL53F.I9250XWLK2
2. Same thing as ROM..
3. What are the other things that I need to customize my Nexus?

i highly recommend using AOKP... it comes with Faux kernel baked in.. great combination... amazing devs and support... here is the link...

hi guys, thanks for your suggestions.. Now, I just successfully installed AOKP. However, my big problem is that my camera didn't save images/videos.. I am now on the panic mode.

3.0.8-gaaa2611. that's my kernel version. I haven't install Kernel updates here. What do you mean by stock camera? <pardon for the noob question> My phone is already rooted/unlocked.

What were your instructions for rooting? (Assuming you weren't rooted before you posted this)
Your root method may have wiped everything

holy...highest mark ive seen in a while...my phone never made it past 6880....maybe its cause of th aggressive popcorn kernel？ always used franco

No, i'm using gallimaufry. I'm surprised too, I didn't expect such a high score

Check my sig to make sure you're installing the roms correctly.
Post two will detail it.
A "stock" camera is the camera that comes pre-installed. Not one from the play store.
I'm on AOKP, and can confirm no such issue.

I think my camera started malfunctioning <didn't save images/videos> when I wipe data due to I forgot my screen lock pattern <yes, I forgot! WTH>. Then, I flash AOKP b29 to see if it will solved my dilemma but it didn't. Last resort was, flash original stock ROM from Google website. Now, I am back to stock ROM.
@Jubakuba: I follow your procedure before, but when I tried to re-install Titanium Backup <free> to restore apps, it didn't succeed and prompts error which is something like code:32.

Bugs experienced so far:
Trebuchet will FC randomly
Phone speaker will crackle with some notification sounds/music
Report back:
-Seems to be running great. I've had it running around 8 hours so far. No recent FC's.
-Volume +/- works great when setting to skip tracks for music apps when screen is off.
-Homescreen padding actually makes sense. (more room)

The Focal camera will be amazing, so I suggest you try it!

Already downloaded it doing a nandroid as I'm posting. Mega has some real nice downstream. :victory:

Mega is wonderful for downloading I upload at nearly the maximum throughput of my line as well.

I personally felt the same way but after trying 4.3 cam I had a change of heart. I don't find myself using all the features and one reason is because I find the tw cam very laggy and awful with low light setting. 4.3 is just faster and more straight forward for that quick point and shoot and still great quality.

I don't think it has loki and it has the root files, you just need to use the SuperSU update zip to update the binaries

Okay so I would have to use the loki patch to flash then. Ill wait until the official one is updated to cm10.2

Or you just flash the loki KT kernel, it works quite well with CM

Those are my builds as well, I build the JFLTECAN/JFLTEATT/JFLTEXX

Here is the camera for people to test out before switching from TouchWiz (if you're still deciding). DOWNLOAD FOCAL
EDIT: Reportedly works on various 4.2.2 and 4.3 builds.

Did a clean install and I had no APN's. It wouldn't allow me to add one either. Also tried KT kernel and it booted upon first boot with no boot animation but when I rebooted, it stayed on the black screen. Anyone else have these issues?

Look in Chad's stock ROM, it's boot.img. Should be right under the system folder when you open the zip.

I got the boot img like you said and replaced the old one in a nandroid back up. Unchecked md5 verification and restored the back up but wifi wouldn't work. Any way I can make it flashable?
Maybe use the old nd8 stock kernel zip and replace the file with the nj2 kernel and rezip it?

Using ktoonz 5/13/14 version . I found the new stock kernel actually ran better longer battery and better benchmarks. Even when I set K tweaker too sio and adaptive, undervolted amd min 81mhz.
Thw new stock kernel really is sweet.
I'll try and stick it in the old nd8 zip file.

I want to say i flashed the stock kernel zip you gave me worked like a charm.
I can tell immediately the difference in responsiveness and battery life and faster charging than having fast charge enabled on the custom kernel.
The new stock kernel is the shzit.
You have to try it to believe it. I froze K tweaker and used rom toolbox to make the SD buffer up to 2048. That's all
I find anything higher than 2048 makes the phone slower in some aspects.

I'm not going to make a colorful thread on this rom........No need. All this rom is, is 99%
stock. It is based from the official Samsung firmware for the S6 Edge. All of the Edge features are
included.
I have had many request to build a "stock" rom......which is not really my style from those of you that
know me. But here it is. But, please note "I will not be adding or removing ANYTHING". This rom comes

Thank you, Thank you, finally here. @The Sickness I think you forgot to mention that is DEODEXED and it has the memory management tweaks.
I wanna add that standby time is crazy good and really fast.

OK I just flashed Xposed and is working great....no issues at all. I will flash some audio mods and will report back.

There is no reason why it wouldn't. This is all stock

Scratch that. Im going to try it and will post screen shots. Running on the moar rom for note 5 with your other parch for edge+.

Runs in setting perfectly just doesnt show outside of setting. Good job though.

this got me in a boot loop. im on moar note 5 rom. i was able to get into philz touch recovery and wipe the cache but that didnt help. any ideas how to get out of the boot loop?
dirty flashed moar got me back up and running. will attempt to flash this zip 1 more time.
this time i flashed it in recovery as opposed to using flash fire app originally, and all is good. Do not use Flash fire!
Just to report what doesnt work, which im sure you already know:
downloading feeds, no feeds available for download and on circle in peoples edge doesnt work and force closes.

this stopped working for me for no reason. I deleted edge settings and people strings with titanium. then reinstalled and still didn't work. edge people app worked when I installed it. I tried using both of them together thinking that might help but it didn't. please help, I really want to get this to work.

What rom are you flashing this with?
Only for note 5 roms. Don't yes with Moar because it should have edge in 2.0 and that will most likely cause boot loop.

2.0 comes with edge on Moar so you won't need to flash this.

Moar 2.0 does have the edge, but its only the edge people and apps, it does not have the information stream or night clock.... Does your mod have the information stream or night clock?

Yes, but it won't be work with Moar.
It's baked in defender and tw slim
