LG730 - Venice - Downgrading firmware to ZV5 from ZV8 so i can root it

hey all, just got my 1st smartphone here. the LG Venice.
i love it , but always wanted to root it. that was the main point in getting it.
so i went and got this the other day, and unfortunately the guy at the store
went and upgraded it for me from the good version to this new UN-rootable version.
at the time i didn't know this, or i woulda stopped him.
soooo, I've been reading all over and the consensus is to downgrade it to zv5,
then root it, then save the root, then upgrade back to zv8, then restore the root.
ok, no prob, but i cant get the zv5 firmware to take. i;'ve found only 1 place that has a link to a .cab file. and it don't work.
others have had this same problem, but i cant get ahold of anyone....
if i flash 5 on it, it gets stuck at the boost logo screen. only way to fix is to flash 8 back on it.
so if anyone has an idea or a good zv5 image, or a link or something! or a way to root it as is.. please help!!!

Hi I'm new here, does anyone have the firmware/rom LG730ZV8? Im sorry I know its an old phone but I want to give it to someone and it is currently bricked. I believe I could get it working again by changing the firmware/rom on it but I have looked in google for it and every link has expired. Can anyone please give me a hand, it will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

[Q] please help me e-975

10 days ago i installed freegee.After the installation when i reboot my phone it gave me a cernel crash.I tried to recover with kdz and all the other tools from lg but l got a flle extract error.After that i tried to recover using custom rom.I installed using adb, CM 10.2 stable version.I managed to get through but now my sim card is not detected i dont have network or wifi and my imei is not recognised.I tried again to install original firmware but again file extract error.I gave the phone to lg representative he told me that can not be fixed easily h and je kas to change something in hardware with cost up to 400€...:crying::crying:
Please help me i am desperate

Me too Got same error when trying to convert my f180 to e975, but my problem is solved with kdz,are you have your efs backup?

Why you guys always super fast to visit repair....
You obviously flashed kdz not meant for your device thus changed the baseband. No baseband=no network, no imei.
Should have read new tool for large kdz.

I did this..download mode->install kdz->root device->free gee,install cwm..new version works

I am Having issue with updating my Lg G pro f240s

Hello all
I have LG G Pro f240s, (please see screenshots attached) it shows me a note that system updates are available but when I finish downloading the updates it says "phone rooted" , I tried to unroot it by instaling "supersu" (because supersu does have this option to unroot)
but supersu is saying that the phone is not properly rooted !
what I understood is that my phone is partially rooted !!
Notes: :
I think My phone is Korean because when I reset it it starts with Korean language.
The phone files in my computer shows like are corupted. (see attached pic)

ne shows me a lot of adds and it is veeeeeeery anoying , you can't believe how much adds it shows per hour that's the main reson I want to update it, I have a friend who has an lg g2 with the same android version that I have in my phone and he has the same issue I have , it that a problem in the android version ?
Please help me unroot my phone to instal the updates or if there is anyway to get rid of this adds forever (I tried many antiviruses but still about 4 viruses cannot be deleted)

I didn't use it because I have had an LG G2 few weeks ago and I flashed it with LG flashtool with a wrong flash and I broke it :/ ,so I am afraid to repeat the same mistake again.
My phone is (SK telecom) it is the korean version , when I tried to update it with Lg flashtool it gave me question marks everywhere ??? (see attachements please)
Note that I am not in Korea ,will that effect the updates ? , I mean will the lg server send me another version according to the place I live in ?!
Can any one assist me please?

other question : can I update my phone streat away to lolipop without passing through the kitkat ?
I checked my phone model and it is F240S

Have you tried it on another pc? It works fine on my pc with win 7.
And yep, you can update your phone streat away to lollipop with lgflashtool.

Thank you irt118 for your help I realy apreciate it ,
I tried in anothe Windows xp pc but still not working
then I installed another windows 7 ( My previous windows version is "W 7 Orient 2")
at first it gave me an error message ,so I went very upset
I found a thread on the net saying that you have to disconnect from the internet while using the flash tool ,
I did so and gess what it worked ? I upgraded to kitkat first then to lolipop
everything worked well at first , but now after reseting the phone I have a little issue with the network
here it is :
I have to 2 sim cards of 2 diferrent providers ( X and Y. ... X sim card is working properly while Y sim card does not ! ?! weard huh !
the most weard thing is that I tried my friend's sim card with same provider as mine Y sim card and it worked on my phone, fine ,so I was thinking may be my sim card is broken ,which is not true because I am using it now on another phone and it works fine
what can be the problem ? knowing that my phone is the korean version with SKTelecom carrier
I am happy with my phone now but it will be much better if I solve this issue of the network

It did not work. Lg up white i went back to the original?
I want to use this root without errors (applications without locking). what reason may be due?

sorry i have not rooted mine so idk.

Reflash the firmware... if ur phone is recently repaired by LG aftet bootloop fix remove the back cover check the change model number of the motherboard ...download the stock rom based on the borad mentioned flash it via lg flash tool 2014 in download mode if it give errors dont worry let it finish

no. There is a not problem on the motherboard. I encounter this error only???Nobody from else not was.
It is using a lot of people the roots.

Help save a bricked lg g3

My issues is quite complicated. Please be patient and read on.
Less than a week ago, I bought an LG G3 D855. It wasn't brand new and definitely out of warranty.
It was on the 4.4.2 Os version but I couldn't update it because I couldn't locate the UPDATE CENTER and after some research online, I found out it was because it was rooted. I couldn't find a Supersu application anywhere on the phone anyways but Root checker confirmed that it was rooted.
I downloaded the stock kitkat firmware in a .tot format and I tried flashing using LG Flash Tool for TOT but it failed because "Device version is different"
I checked the Imei online and it stated that the device is a Sprint LS990 but the details embedded in the phone all say it is D855
I checked online and found a couple of posts about this error and one user said he was able to fix it by flashing the actual Sprint .tot with the lg flash tool. I tried that but it didn't work. It still said "Device version is different. Check BIN or dll"
I checked online and found results pointing to a generic .dll file for G3s and I downloaded it but when I used it on the Flash tool, it resulted to an error "CrossDL blah blah"
So I found a Marshmallow kdz file. LGUP won't see my device model so I was able to flash it after editting the software in my build.prop to D85510n.
***I have always changed the port to COM41 in all the steps I used
The LG UP detected my model and it flashed to 100% but got stuck on a bootloop by loading the lg screen, freezing and restarting by it self. It never gets to the homescreen.
I downloaded lollipop kdz reflashed using LGUP in a form of downgrade and it got to 100% and got stuck at the lg screen while trying to reboot.
I redownloaded the stock kitkat rom and used the Lg flash tool but it failed. It said 'PID null IMEI Null"
I used LGUP to reflashed. It came to my understanding that the LGUP can flash both kdz and tot. So it flashed to 100% but got stuck at the lg screen and I have tried all I can but it is stuck. It can go into download tho. I don't know what to do about the IMEI. I don't know if the last flash retrieved it. I don't kniw what to do.
It no longer shows as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial
Please can anyone help me?
I just need my phone to work again. I was stubborn and now I regret it. I should have just stuck to kitkat. I'm so desperate to get my phone working that I wouldn't mind Android Froyo Os if it was ever possible.

It boot until home screen but after a while black screen and it s hard to power on it again. Then need to wait a time to boot it again.
What the problem?

Got the same problem now (with my wife's phone). I'd appreciate it if instead of helping people privately you'd tell everyone what to do to fix the problem.

I had the same problem, downloaded .tot file via IMEI check (can't remember where from) and used that .tot file with BoardDiag, flashed everything as in tutorial (google it), it was 4.4.2 Android, couldn't update it (software is up to date) so I rooted it, flashed twrp 3.0.0 and installed Fulmics 8.0, it works now just fine
