Is there anyway I could connect my android to my Ipad? It never sees the connection when I use mywi... I also can't get my Ipad to see the Android, when using wifi tethering... I read some roms could do it on other Android devices. Is there a simple work around for this? I want to cancel my ipad 3g, and tether off my Evo...
Thanks.

this should def be in the questions board...
to get your ipad to see your evo over wifi, install the latest developer version of the wifi tether apk, not the market release.
a fix was just made to the wifi tether for this to be possible and its only in the developer version so far as they need some time to integrate it into an official release.
version 2_0_5 pre 2 works for me but they might have a newer one out.
google, "android wifi tether" and it will prob be the 1st result. its a google code page.
good luck!

It will create a local wifi hotspot and will transfer files between your android and ios devices
Hi guys i just got a HD7 connects to my wifi at home with no issues, has a WEP security code, but it dosent connect at my office which is WPA2 i think, is there a way to solve this or am i stuck for now?
It dosent even show up on the available networks at all by the way not just cant connect.
Thanks
WP7 currently can't connect to wireless networks with a hidden SSID from what I've read. WPA2 should be no problem. You should really upgrade from WEP at home, its easily cracked.
Yea i know lol... im in a very remote location so not to worried.
HTC just releases an app called Hidden Wi-Fi. Just google it and you'll see the link. Only problem is i can't see it in my hd7 marketplace. Anyone help?

Goto the marketplace, select apps, then do a search for hidden Wifi.

The problem with the app I am having is that it tells me:
This application requires the latest Wi-Fi software. Please update your phone to the latest system software.
I am currently on No-do, so I don't know what else to do.
Lol. Guess you have to wait for the Mango update.lol

I haven't seen an update after the NoDo update. I just got a connection setup update.
Google announced a new update for Android Wear. This update enables "phone-free" functionality so the watch does not have to be in Bluetooth range from the phone to work, it can also function if connected to a Wi-Fi network.
So does the Moto 360 have a working Wi-Fi implementation or not ? What is the consensus ? If not, this would be a good reason to upgrade.
http://googleblog.blogspot.ro/2015/04/android-wear-wear-what-you-want-get.html
It has a disabled wifi chip that was filed with the FCC, assuming it'll be turned on with this update.
It does have it, Motorola said so in their own blog

I wouldn't call it a weird statement. It is likely the software update that will enable this functionality - I doubt it is any sort of hardware limitation.

They better also unlock the other half of the battery if they enable true always-on screen functionality

What build number and software number is the new FW? I got software 5.0.2, is that the new one?
It's only the android update side. I think we still need them to push the watch side.
i've updated my android wear app and wifi is enabled..I'm at work and have wifi here. i can walk to another office over 100 feet away and still connected where as yesterday it would say it was not connected.

Can anyone else confirm that the WiFi features are now fully functional on BOTH the App and the Watch? According to this Motorola blog.. it's going to be rolled out over the next "few" weeks: http://motorola-blog.blogspot.com/2015/04/moto-360-its-time-for-update.html?m=1
Updated to the newest Android Wear, enabled cloud sync and was in wifi range - waited some time for things to "sync" and verified the newest android wear and play services were installed on my watch. No sign of any Wifi connection to the 360 here. I don't believe it will be enabled until we get new firmware for the watch itself.
Google has updated the Android Wear APK which makes it POSSIBLE to connect our Moto360 via WiFi.

HOWEVER: as of 5/14/15 we are STILL WAITING for Motorola to roll out the FIRMWARE UPDATE to our Moto360 Watch.
So in summary:
This Thread is currently waiting for MOTOROLA to get their act together with the FIRMWARE update.
[Please direct complaints to Motorola not this thread]
Now we need Motorola to send their FIRMWARE UPDATE!
Let's see if we can "Encourge" them to roll the firmware update out!

I don't think anyone has it for Moto 360.
Its just the app, i dont think the Watch software update has started rolling out yet
Has this been pushed across the board? Was there a watch update, or just the Wear app? I don't think that I have gotten either...

Well thats awkward... Wonder why Im getting notifications on my watch now. even though my phone is 11 miles away. #SuperGoodBluetooth I guess. You're right...
I've noticed an increase in phone battery drain with cloud sync (even when not on wifi), showing up as a new wakelock called CloudNodeSyncWakeLock. Anyone else getting similar drain with the new setting enabled?

Wi-Fi Will be enabled when the Moto 360 gets the firmware update to Android Wear 5.1 which is rolling out over the next "few" weeks. the Android wear app on the phone has already been updated to support Wifi but the watch needs the firmware to enable the Wi-Fi chip that is currently disabled on the Moto 360
Problems after installing latest version of Android Wear
Since the new update my Moto360 doesn't Conntect to my S5 and the following message pop up "Google Play Services stopped" and "process com.google.process.gapps stopped". Not even a factory reset helped! It looks like there are still some bugs :-/
I manually installed the update and it constantly crashed as above. Lots of 'android wear has stopped'. I'll wait for official app push and see if it still occurs whilst awaiting the watch firmware update
Well, someone had to start this... I know it's not their final release and I am not complaining..!
Been running MM for a few hours.
First issue is with Amazon Prime Videos. Have noticed that downloaded movies can judder and freeze, then BT disconnects. Anyone else seen that?

I did the update earlier - Still no go.
I've been running MM for about 15 hours now with no issues. Have not tried Android pay yet, but everything else works without any discernible problems. In fact: Android wear works better now than it did before; whereas on 5.1 it would constantly disconnect, now it doesn't even have a single problem.
Android Pay is no go here also.
Samsung Pay seems to be working.
With new loyalty cards feature added... it's not officially time to ditch Android Pay. It was disappointing since the day they launched
Neither Android nor Samsung pay support my bank but my experience with MM so far has been great. It feels like a brand new phone.
i have been running it for about 30 hours and have not had any major issue. the only minor issue I see is in the messaging app. if you hit the back button to exit out of a conversation and go back to you message list, it exits out of the messaging app all together. other than that, my phone is running twice as fast as it was before. my Bluetooth issues seem to be better as well.
After updating to Marshmallow, I can't seem to have my text messages preview on my status bar; that is, I do not see any words besides the little text icon. Is anyway else having this problem? I have ENABLED "MESSAGE PREVIEW" in the settings within the app, but still no go. Maybe I used package disable pro, disabling an app that interferes with it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Just tested Android and Samsung Pay. Both worked for me.
The only thing I may have done different was I shutdown my device. Entered recovery(power+home+volume up) and cleared my cache.
When I rebooted my cellular data connected to 4G instead of Edge and it detected new updates for the bloatware lol. Worth a try if you need Android Pay.
Just tried a few minutes of movie in Prime Videos and no issues here, Android Wear stayed connected too.

Yep, now that loyalty cards are in Samsung pay, I can now disable Android Pay completely. I have to say Samsung knocked it out of the park with their reverse engineering magnetic strips to allow our phones to work with the older technology.
-----------------
A non-issue, or bonus, is that my battery life has increased a good 30-40% with this update - and thats without using package disabler pro.
